The rudest woman I have ever encountered in Portugal is supposed to be selling tickets at this station. On June 13 just before midday she made it quite obvious to myself and others she hates the public as much as she hates her job.

There is a bus from the airport that takes you to the city center and stops at the train station. It is bus number 16, you take it right outside the departures area of the airport. It takes about 20 minutes, costs 2.35. Very easy way to get to Faro center without paying a taxi! Google doesn’t know this transport option.

Bahnhof halt. Bischen schmudelig wie Bahnhöfe halt so sind.

The young girl at the reception was very rude to me meanwhile she was occupied to speak with her colleagues instead of giving me the info I needed.

I got a ticket from Lisbon to Lagos online but it didn't say I needed to change trains in Tunes so I went straight to Faro. When I got there, I explained what happened and asked the lady if I could take the next train to Lagos with the same ticket I had already paid for, and she said No and made me pay for a new ticket and didn't take my cartão jovem for a discount. I walk out and 2 girls with same issue as me ask the guy next to the lady, who had heard our conversation, and he told them they could just show their tickets from Lisbon and didn't have to pay for anything.

It's not a station with a "wow" factor at all. But you can catch trains here, better than taking plains though. When you're heading to Sevilla the bus is a faster option but a nice and fun way to travel to Spain is to take the local train to Vila Real de Santa Antonio and from there the ferry to Ayamonte. And otherwise, the train to Lisboa from where you have sleeper trains to Hendaye in France and Madrid in Spain.

Clean and tidy station. Staff helpful. Short walk to marina and town centre. There is no way of telling which platform your train is arriving on which means you have to ask for help from staff.

Mutilingual attendant , a tad expensive (109 euro two adults to Lisbon) however if you are traveling first class is best , more leg space , free drink , window seats . This is appreciated when you consider coaches tight- tin environment. The station itself does not have much to do but it's charming and will certainly take you out of your element .

Friendly and very helpful staff. My Portuguese is almost none existent, and they were very understanding and helpful as I made a bad job of trying to request a train ticket (as well ad train times, platform numbers and such). The station did get very busy just before the train arrived, so I would recommend purchasing your ticket either a little earlier than your train, or the day before. Just to save you a little time queuing and then rushing to the train.

Good train station, clean and with two bar with a lot of choice. The only things that I want to advice is to arrive a little bit early because sometimes there is just one office open so it will be a little of queue. But the staff is helpful and also polite.
