A great course with a nice history to it, the course is quite demanding and has some tricky holes to it, with some of the best views around the course and excellent villas with open pools that offer a great back drop, while playing golf.

If there's 1 course in Vilamoura you should play then the Old course is must! It was my 2nd time playing there and thoroughly enjoyed it. And so did the rest of fellow player's. So now just need to play it again sometime in the future?

Excellent old school course. Quite tight with over hanging trees everywhere. Very good greens and lovely club house. Cannot be faulted.

Generally a nice layout with a parkland type feel, some very tight holes with a few quirks and 90 degree dog legs with trees blocking both the drive and approach to green. Fairway condition was not good, worn and bare patches, some punched greens, which at the price point was disappointing. Marshalls did not keep play moving and some holes with three groups on. Not what I think of as a resort/holiday type course which would be enjoyable for all handicaps.

Played this course while visiting Algarve over Christmas and enjoyed it greatly. It was off season so green fees were more than 50% off. The course itself is very mature and covered with pine trees with very thick canopies. Found this very unique, coming from Canada, and challenging as well. Forces you to keep shots low, or very high to clear the canopies. Staff told me this is the third oldest course in the region. Overall a great experience. Rental clubs are Titleist and nicer than the clubs I play with at home.

The best course in Vilamoura area. First class service, immaculate fairways and greens and some stunning holes. A definite on my list every year in Portugal.
