Melissa M: If you are wishing to teach English abroad, I would not recommend using this agency. I was teaching in Spain from October 2019 to May 2020 and was contracted through the ErasmusInSchool platform. At the beginning of the year I had to give a €400 deposit that I would get back when I completed the school year. As you all know, the coronavirus struck in March and schools were closed and have still not been re-opened. I wanted to go home but naturally I was worried about the deposit so I awaited instructions from either ErasmusInSchool (who never contacted me at all during the pandemic! My housemates who were contracted by the British council were contacted immediately and told to go home) or my school. My school started advising me to go home so I asked about the deposit and was told that they would speak to ErasmusInSchool about it. Then we found out that I would not be able to get the deposit back unless I stayed contracted until the end of May as originally planned. Personally, I found this absolutely disgusting and shameful. We were in a PANDEMIC, my school were giving me their blessing to go, they no longer were able to pay me my full wages, yet ErasmusInSchool didn’t want to give me MY deposit? I fulfilled all of my duties with the school, I didn’t do anything wrong. The school no longer had the money to pay me my full wages anymore so they were halved. I was living on €250 a month. My rent was €135 a month (not including bills). ErasmusInSchool put me in a horrible position financially and mentally. They should have had the decency to just give me MY money back in considering the extraordinary circumstances. So through this review I would simply like to warn potential language assistants about the establishment. In my opinion, ErasmusInSchool looks out for the interest of the schools, not the language assistants. The fact that I had to give a “deposit” at the beginning should have been a warning sign. In what other job is that normal? With that being said, I would like to mention that my school is not to blame here at all. They were very helpful and supportive. I feel so let down by this agency. Being stuck in a foreign country with such little money, unable to get back to my home country was the worst and most difficult time of my life. I view the fact that they couldn’t give me my money back before the end of May (and didn’t contact me at all during the whole pandemic) utterly shambolic. I am writing this because I really don’t want this to happen anyone else. Be very wary of looking for work abroad through this agency. I wouldn’t not recommend them at all. 0/5.

NÃO ENCOMENDAR NA SAÍDA DA SEARS. Eu encomendei um novo fogão a gás Fora de Caixa deles, parecia ótimo e livre de qualquer dano nas fotos, mas quando chegou parecia que tinha sido jogado ao redor durante o trânsito. Provavelmente a culpa é do transportador de carga PILOT FREIGHT SERVICES, que o deixou fora da minha casa e não me permitiu recusar a entrega. Arranhões profundos por toda a unidade, válvula de gás completamente quebrada, e todos os queimadores e grelhas foram deslocados e alguns faltaram.

Ficámos muito satisfeitos com a nossa experiência na Abt. Comprámos uma máquina de lavar louça. Tínhamos uma ideia muito boa do que queríamos em características e da marca de que mais gostávamos. Estivemos lá apenas 15 minutos e um vendedor muito capaz veio ter connosco. Ele descobriu o que queríamos e depois fomos até ao computador para verificar. Conseguimos todos os recursos que queríamos, a cor, a marca e até compramos a garantia estendida, peças grátis e mão-de-obra por 4 anos. Nós normalmente não fazemos isso, mas temos tido azar ultimamente com alguns mecânicos de nossas casas, então nós fizemos isso. Eu gostei que eles tomaram todas as temperaturas quando entraram na loja e absolutamente todos tinham em máscaras. Estava muito ocupado, mas essas precauções nos faziam sentir melhor. Provavelmente não vamos receber a entrega por até um mês, devido à lentidão na fabricação e, portanto, a entrega. Esse é o único lado negativo. Nós também tomamos zero % de financiamento por um ano. Parecia um "no brainer". Acabamos de chegar desta viagem e não podíamos estar mais felizes até agora.
