Um belo restaurante! Ambientação sofisticada com ótima iluminação e boa acústica! Fizemos a reserva pela manhã e nos pediram um preparamento por se tratar de uma mesa grande! Nos aguardavam com uma excelente mesa junto à janela! O serviço é excelente,atencioso e simpático,em especial com as crianças! A sugestão de prato infantil é bem elaboradora ! Na escolha do pedido foram muito amáveis ao detalhar cada prato tanto sobre ingredientes,preparo e quantidade ,. A sugestão do compartilhar as entradas foi excelente! Os Camarões com aspargo estavam divinos ,a burrata excelente! Pedi o pato que confesso ter me decepcionado um pouco! A sobremesa de lichia estava excelente!

Really pleased that we picked to eat at DOP, we had a lovely evening in a relaxed environment with fabulous food and wine. We choose the sea menu and all 3 of us loved every bite. The sommelier picked us an incredible bottle of wine, asking the right questions of what we liked seeing as we had no knowledge of Portuguese wines. The dining area was quite special, we felt like no one else was around us and loved the set up for a table of 3, with no one sitting on that odd chair out of a table for 4 - very thoughtful. One of us is a chef and all of dine regularly high end places so I am surprised at the recent reviews. I would go back to Porto and eat here again without question. Thank you for a fantastic evening DOP team

Gutes Essen aber zu teuer. Service ist mittelmäßig und kommt irgendwie unnatürlich rüber. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist nicht gut. Ich würde dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen.

So you go to a beautiful city, try to make a reservation at a Michelin star restaurant and then to your surprise, and come out eating really ordinary and on occasion salty food. Between the two of us, we ordered the spinach ravioli ( served over cooked), cauliflower ( burnt with curry flavor), chestnut and mushrooms ( pre made patties), and vegetable and coconut lasagna (with no taste of coconut but a large amount of salt). Do the chefs here have really tasted this food themselves? Have the folks at Michelin ever bothered to eat these dishes? With so many great options in Porto, we just feel bad about wasting our time here and planning our evening around this dinner.

Tolle und kreative Küche. Es gibt 2 Menüs zur Auswahl, wir hatten das Menue Mar mit Fisch und vielen tollen Dingen. 90 Euro p.P. sind schon happig, die passenden Weine dazu nochmal 60 Euro, da empfiehlt sich die kostengünstigere Variante aus der Weinkarte. Das Essen dauert seine Zeit und das ist auch gut so. Freundlicher Service und eine schöne Terrasse bei traumhaften Wetter, perfekt.

Super disappointed after eating here. I chose it because it was a Fodor's choice (which also happened to mention that it had a great value lunch menu and vegetarian options). Since being vegetarian in Porto was harder than I anticipated, I took the plunge. I ordered the cauliflower with hazelnut and the soft boiled egg with asparagus. The 14 € cauliflower was less than ONE FLORET of cauliflower (not joking) sliced thin on some hazelnut foam. My husband and I actually laughed when we looked at it. The painful part was that it was bland to boot. The egg was plain but alright. Those 2 dishes together cost 30€, which I have to say hurt. It would get 0 stars if just for me, but my husband did actually like his veal. For the price, however, he wished we would have gone elsewhere. There is nothing that seemed like "good value" on the lunch menu and vegetarians have much tastier options elsewhere in the city.

Unfortunately so-so. They really want to become a Michelin-starred restaurant, but they clearly fall short of this level. It is also very strange: not only is water for money (which is a fairly common practice), but the bread that they bring without asking you is also worth the extra money. Finally, the food itself: ordered (at their own advice) lamb. The lamb itself was ok, but the sauce was too salty, and the side dish was completely expressionless.

Lugar muito bacana e aconchegante com ótimo atendimento porém em se tratando de culinária deixou a desejar desde a entrada , prato principal e sobremesa , os pratos são visuais porém o sabor é nulo , a carne de porco veio totalmente crua e no puro sal, talvez mudar o chef seria uma boa pedida , não recomendo.

Um dos grandes restaurantes do Porto. Sala requintada e bem decorada, com cheiro sempre muito agradável. Serviço excelente. Comida Excelente. Carta de vinhos extensa e de extrema qualidade. Não fosse isto o suficiente, todos os pratos são contextualizados com histórias de experiências que os inspiraram. Ter uma refeição no DOP é mais do que simplesmente comer bem. É uma experiência. Recomendadíssimo.

정말 맛있고, 비싼 값을 합니다. 분위기, 음식 맛 등은 전혀 나무랄 데가 없습니다. 단, “무슨 식사가 (아무리 맛이 있다고 해도) 1인분에 60유로나 하나?” 하는 생각이 든다면 절대 가지 마세요. 저는 스타터를 석류를 곁들인 문어 카르파초로 주문하고, 메인은 오징어를 곁들인 도미(Gold Bream)요리로 주문했습니다. 식전주는 권하길래 아무 생각 없이 마셨는데(7유로) 맛이 너무 좋아 감동이었고요, 와인도 그냥 도우루 강 와인 중 하나로 주문했는데 운 좋게도 음식과 잘 맞아서 맛있게 잘 즐겼습니다. 스태프들도 다들 친절해서 좋았습니다. 계산을 할 적에는 Couvert(식전빵)을 먹지 않았는데 포함했길래 빼달라고 한 것은 있었습니다. 하지만 이런 일은 포르투갈 여행 중에는 흔한 일이라고도 하고, 군말없이 바로 빼주어서 별로 흠잡지 않았습니다. 지불한 음식 값은 적지 않았지만 매우 만족스러운 경험이었습니다. :) 참고로 음식이 한국인 입맛에 조금 짤 수 있으니, 덜 짜게 해달라고 주문하시는 것도 고려하시기 바랍니다. 저는 괜찮았지만, 아내는 덜 짜게 해달라고 해서 무척 맛있게 먹었습니다.

Simplesmente fantástico divino. São as palavras perfeitas para descrever esse local. Num palácio belíssimo a localização é idílica em pleno centro histórico da cidade. A visita a este local é muito recomendável uma experiência única. Muito acolhedor cosy a decoração do espaço foi pensada ao pormenor. Irrepreensível.

Très belle table, belle décoration, les plats sont très raffinés. Les portions sont peut-être juste sur certains plats (le carpaccio de St-Jacques). Le personnel est très chaleureux et compétent, une mention spéciale au chef sommelier pour le choix des accords : J'avais demandé un accord tout en vins Blancs portugais, pour accompagner nos deux menus dégustations de la mer, qu'il nous a facturé à moitié prix. Évidemment, le rapport qualité/prix est inégalable. Un grand bravo et une bonne continuation.

Das Essen ist in einwandfreier Qualität. Das Lokal ist etwas laut, da direkt an der Strasse. Eventuell wäre es eine Etage höher ruhiger? Da die Flaschen (Wasser, Wein) vom Tisch weggestellt werden, dürfte das Nachschenken etwas häufiger stattfinden.

First things first I wouldn't go here if you're vegetarian. I guess it's the case of they specialise in certain things and vegetarian food is very much an afterthought. We emailed them in advance to ask whether they could cater for vegetarians and they said yes. They probably should have said not really. The starters were actually quite good but the mains were appalling. When I say that I mean things I could easily cook myself at home and with very little thought at all. We mentioned this at the time and the staff simply said 'ok' rather than trying to rectify the situation. The desserts were nice as they were the standard desserts. The meal didn't represent value for money. I guess the only thing I can say is the wine was good and the sommelier was very friendly but other than that definitely no intention at all of coming back.

Tiene que cuidar los detalles, el pan no era reciente, los quesos que pedimos, tuvimos que llamarles para que nos explicaran su origen. Un sitio precioso, donde comí un bacalao buenísimo, mis tres acompañantes tomaron un menú, donde todo estaba buenisimo a un precio mas que razonable, el vino tinto del duero que nos aconsejo el sommelier, después de preguntarnos como le queríamos, estaba buenisimo a un precio razonable. Los camareros muy amables. Lo recomiendo, Volveria.

We hadden 2 maand op voorhand gereserveerd en konden enkel via het the fork systeem online boeken. We kregen een bevestiging en blijkbaar een maand later een bericht van annulering in het Portugees die dan nog in mijn spam geraakt e waardoor deze niet werd gelezen en we stonden voor niks in het restaurant. Heel teleurstellend!!!! Very poor reservation system through the fork they cancel and don't even boter to send you a mail in english, only Portugese resulting in a very disappointing evening

Fomos primeiro ao restaurante DOC, também do Chef Rui Paula, que fica no Alto Douro Vinhateiro. Viemos com a mesma expectativa porém ficamos um tanto desapontados pois a qualidade aqui, no geral, é um pouco inferior. Principalmente no quesito atendimento, que ficamos encantados lá no Douro e aqui no Porto deixou um pouco a desejar. Os pratos aqui são menores, mas a qualidade da comida é excelente. Vale a experiência, com certeza. Porém se conseguirem padronizar o restaurante do Porto com o do Douro, aí sim vocês estarão excelentes em tudo.

Reading some harsh reviews about DOP while we have probably one of the best meals here in all of portugal. I understand chefs have bad days and taste is absolutely subjective so, at the end of the day, you form your own opinion based on experiences, exposures and luck, whether we you like it or not. From start to end we are very pleased with the serving pace, knowledge of the servers, taste and presentation. Price is up there but compares to where we come from, NYC, our pocketbook is extremely happy!

This is the best food that we’ve ever eaten in our lives!!! The Scallops were perfect, the pork was so tender that it just melted in your mouth, the chefs wine was out of this world. We sat outside and the staff made our experience magical. I recommend this restaurant 110%...I think it is great....I just can’t say enough

Disappointing experience. Went to DOP twice - the first time last year (2018) and again in July 19’. We had the menu and it was far from impressive. The starters were average, the main dish (fish) was badly cooked and the desert ok. We also had the wine pairing and only one wine (picture below) was memorable. Extraordinary expensive for the food and the service.

The scallops and later the lamb . Initially I didn’t like the fact when I asked if their recommended Porto wine would be sweet and was told “no” and then it ended up being sweet and no one at the table finished it. But the food and ambiance made up for it. Pleasant staff service could have been a touch better. Attentive yes but a waitress kept coming and asking “are you finished with that?” Over and over. If you’re one of those people that complains when you eat fast and complains about portions then this isn’t the place for you. The detail is where they excel. Enjoy y’all.

Très belle découverte, en entrée j’ai pris les gambas à l’ail et magnifique tellement goutu , en plas j’ai pris le carrée d’agneau mais très décevant. A la fin la serveuse me demande si c’était bon, je dis oui mais pas à mon goût car je n’ai même pas mangé la moitié! Elle me propose de prendre autre chose sur la carte et que c’est offert par la maison sur le moment je dis non. A la fin du repas mon carrée d’agneau m’a pas été compté sur l’addition. Magnifique restaurant avec un service et un personnel parfait! Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

MENU DE 20 EUROS EN UNO DE LOS MEJORES RESTAURANTES DE OPORTO. COMIDA DE AUTOR CON RAICES PORTUGUESAS. Es uno de los mejores restaurantes de Oporto, si no el mejor, a cargo de Rui Paula, el chez de moda en Portugal en lo que tiene mucho que ver no solo su buena cocina sino su participación en la versión portuguesa del programa televisivo Master Chez. El nombre es el acrónimo de Denominación de Origen Protegida, que es la que corresponde al vino de Oporto, y en homenaje a éste. (En el valle del Douro tiene otro restaurante llamado DOC, Denominación de Origen Controlada, que corresponde al vino del Douro). Es un restaurante de primera línea, minimalista pero muy bonito con unas instalaciones extraordinarias, cómodo, con un personal jovencísimo, muy bien preparado (el que menos habla 4 idiomas), todos simpatiquísimos e informales a la vez que respetuosos y educados, además ellos y ellas son todos guapísimos. Al sentarte ante la mesa enseguida te atiende el sumiller, pero es igual que pidas una botella de un gran vino, una copa de vino normal o una cerveza, siempre te va a atender como al mejor cliente. En uno de los espacios del comedor te sientas frente a la cocina donde se afanan los cocineros sobre los fogones trabajando para ti La comida muy buena, de sabor profundo, de alta cocina e innovadora pero con algunos platos anclados en la tradición portuguesa, servidos, eso sí, al estilo de un gran restaurante. Los precios altos, acordes con la categoría del restaurante, pero hete aquí que tienen un menú ejecutivo (del día diríamos nosotros) por 20 euros, que te da la oportunidad de conocer uno de los mejores restaurantes de Portugal por muy poco dinero, además de que está muy bien. Nosotros en esta ocasión teníamos algo que celebrar y comimos a la carta: compartimos un foi casero acompañado de varias deliciosas salsas (ya te lo sirven compartido en dos platos), después un bacalao con brona (con una fina costra en su lomo de migas de pan de maíz muy trabajadas), plato muy típico de Guimaráes y de Vilanova de Gaia que estaba muy sabroso, Leitáo asado con su fino acompañamiento (unos trozos escogidos de cochinillo asados con salsa exquisita) que fue para nosotros un plato extraordinario desde todos los puntos de vista, un coulant con helado de cerveza negra muy original y rico; si le quitamos las copas de vino que pedimos (proporcionalmente lo más caro, ojo) salimos a 41 euros cada uno, que está muy bien para un restaurante de lujo. El restaurante se encuentra en el edifico del Palacio de las Artes, en una placita encantadora en pleno casco histórico de la ciudad, zona declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Experiência muito boa no DOP. Pedimos à la carte e entre cada fase da refeição veio um "miminho" do chef, que em si estavam excelentes e tornaram a experiência muito mais "gourmet". O bacalhau e o javali estavam deliciosos e a sobremesa de frutos silvestres com sorbet de eucalipto estava qualquer coisa. Não é um jantar barato mas mais que valeu o preço, pois tanto o serviço como a comida estavam 6 estrelas.

From the beginning; a welcoming host, a seamless welcoming. The duck liver with pineapple took us to another dimension. A dish full of surprises where the liver became secondary. The octopus, perfectly cooked with smoked potatoes and excellent olive oil. To the finale, chocolate, cherries and tobacco. Chocolate was ok, cherries were a bit innovative, the tobacco infused ice cream is over the top. Bravo.... on a separate note, the wine guy, Hugo, did a fabulous job. I thought that his recommendation of the wine was spot on.... I noticed that five days sipping porto was a fake experience in comparison to the Porto he offered. Well done DOP. What a way to end a visit to Porto. Thank you And all of you cheap reviewers, this is a fabulous place

PROS: Impeccable service, really this is what you come to receive in Portugal. Young, energetic waitresses and sommelier explain the dishes to you and come up with little surprises (the amuse bouche and the post-dessert candy offerings). They were very friendly and on point. The dessert "The Sea" was also a plus; very creative dish and tasty, executed really well. CONS: Price tag; the lobster/fish rice for my main was missing a little kick.

We went to DOP. Based on reviews from other websites, it was rated the most expensive restaurant in Porto. The restaurant was half full (we couldn’t go to other restaurants in the area as they were booked a week in advance). We know in Portugal they charge for bread and that’s fine. I was with my wife and 5 years old daughter…they charged 10.50 Euro (3 × 3.50) for 5 pieces of bread!!! Food was good but service was incredibly slow. I had to chase the wine menu and get water on a counter myself (they charged 7 Euro for Stillwater or maybe tapwater as they were not from a bottle). Understand now why this restaurant was not booked at high season!!

Minha experiência foi bem desagradável . Para começar paguei por um couvert que veio só um cesto de pães secos ( Se quisesse mudar um pouco o quadro usasse um azeite q está bem intimidador na mesa ) . Pedi o prato principal para vir em um tamanho saciável , mas quão grande o espanto quando chegou .....minha família inteira ficou escandalizada quando viu aquela pequeníssima posta pincelada com purê , o preço é surreal comparado ao estilo e tamanho do prato . Tenho uma mega experiência culinária e já frequentei vários restaurantes renomados , mas nesse restaurante DOP eu não voltarei , até pq o atendimento muito mecanizado , funcionários deu a impressão por não aceitarmos tomar vinho não tínhamos créditos para atenção ( nosso suco demorou um absurdo ) , e quando optamos por sucos naturais em restaurantes a demora nunca foi gritante assim . O ambiente incluindo o toalete são bem agradáveis por isso ainda fui justa em dar 2 estrelas .

Excellent restaurant gastronomique. J'y suis allé le midi et y suis retourné le lendemain soir. Le midi, entrée plat et dessert pour seulement 20 euros! Les plats sont préparés avec la même attention et ma même précision. Le soir, les prix sont proches des étoilés français, mais la cuisine est excellente. Produits de qualité, extrême précision des cuissons, recherche et harmonie des goûts! Surtout ne pas faire l'impasse sur ce restaurant.

For an average dinner at 120€ x person, i believe this restaurant is way overrated. You don't even have a tablecloth and the napkins are 50% polyester. The staff is nice but not good enough for the expectations and, most importantly, the food lacks of quality... At night the lights from above the head makes it very sad and cold... I advise you not to be fooled...

The restaurant has a good ambience, really good service, but is overpriced for what it offers. We went for the la carte menu at dinner and while the food was good it lacked the inventiveness expected at these prices. For example, the salt cod main was basically what you get at any other restaurant - cod with greens and potatoes - absolutely no twist. This cannot be justified for the price charged. I would suggest other restaurants over this one in the future.

I had a great meal at DOP. The service was absolutely perfect - which I think is just as important as the quality of the food. I wasn't expecting the amuse bouches, so when they arrived at my table it was a nice surprise. My starter - prawns in garlic - was delicious, by far the best course of the night. For my main I ordered the duck. The accompanying risotto had all the right ingredients: mushroom, truffle, parsley(?); but unfortunately both the duck and the risotto were very salty, almost unenjoyable (Almost!). Dessert was nice, I loved the secret hazelnut and the choice of chocolates with my coffee. I would give 3.5 stars if I could - but definitely closer to 4 stars than 3! I will probably come back if I ever return to Porto, and I would definitely recommend.(also, Rui Paula himself was walking around the restaurant, I'm assuming he does this fairly often. I didn't know who he was or what the restaurant was until I came home after dinner and googled it!)

Ate here four times during a 6 day stay in Porto, that is how much I loved it. Great service, perfectly executed dishes, wonderful flavors. Loved the octopus carpaccio, the beef tartar, the risottos, all the seafood dishes and the duck leg. Came home with Chef's latest cookbook and a happy heart.

Très belle carte de vins avec de très bons conseils. Bien évidemment, beaucoup plus cher que la moyenne des restaurants à Porto (environ 100 euros pour deux, avec du vins - hors menu, plus chers).

Absolument exceptionnel. Le Chef Rui Paula vous propose deux menus dégustations : l'un avec du poisson uniquement et un autre mixte. Nous sommes partis pour le second. Les plats s'enchaînent et sont plus savoureux les uns que les autres. Rui Paula vous emmène dans un voyage à travers les souvenirs gustatifs et olfactifs de son enfance. Les serveurs, attentionnés sans être lourds, se livrent à un vrai storytelling sur les plats. A noter, l'excellent foie gras et carpaccio de pommes, fulgurant ! 200€ à deux... mais je le referais tous les week-ends si je pouvais. Toujours appréciable, la petite tape dans le dos du chef qui vient lui même chercher les compliments. Et vous lui donnerez !

Absurdamente caro. Muito agradável e acolhedor. Propostas gastronómicas muito interessantes mas em tamanho ridiculamente reduzido e a preços altíssimos. Vale a pena conhecer.

Se come estupendamente, comida del chef Rui Paula. El menú degustación sale muy caro y creo que no merece la pena porque pruebas pocas cosas realmente. Los platos están bien, sobre todo si pides carne. Los entrantes caros y pequeños
