Agora renovado, está ainda melhor, comida excelente e despretensiosa e servida em doses bem generosas. Opções de vinhos muito bem equilibradas que permitem uma viagem pelas várias regiões do país.
Serviço cuidado e descontraído no melhor dos sentidos. Excelente opção no coração da baixa de Coimbra.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit außergewöhnlich freundlichem Personal und exzellentem Service.
Karte gute Mischung aus Fisch, Fleisch und vegetarischen Gerichten.
Rindersteak kam mit Käse-überbackene Kartoffeln und Gemüse, das Steak hatte sicherlich 250-300g, mit 15 Euro fanden wir das preiswert. Vorspeisen ebenfalls sehr lecker. Beim Dessert hatten wir Eis und Ananas Carpaccio mit Eis und Pfeffer, auch hier ein Volltreffer.
Sehr gute Weinkarte, auch preiswerte offene , gute portugiesische Weine, kompetente Beratung bei der Weinauswahl.
Insgesamt ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis , unbedingt reservieren.

The place is great. We ordered the Today's Special and it was amazing. Fresh fish with potatoes and salad..delicios. The service was very ok with very kind staff, always asking if everything is ok. I recommend this place.

Este é um dos meus preferidos de Coimbra. Atendimento maravilhoso e comida muito bem preparada. O chambão de borrego (pernil de cordeiro) é simplesmente maravilhoso e o bacalhau é imperdível. Também vale a pena provar a empada de leitão. Ainda não provei os outros pratos, mas não faltará oportunidade.
Para quem gosta de entradas, a sopa rica de mariscos é muito boa! Terminar com o delicioso pudim do abade é fechar com chave de ouro.
Voltarei sempre.

Having read the reviews, of course; high expectations. Our friends from Canada have a keen “mouth” for value and quality and Sete did not disappoint any of us at all. More than the food during the evening was the wonderful repartee of the staff and their engagement (and excellent English) of us as patrons. Much fun and a quality evening with remarkable food from first to main courses. Our expectations and the reviews were met and I must say, the manager upon our entry, as I remarked of the excellent reviews replied, “reviews are one thing - achieving the quality is the real work and always our goal”. Well done Sete.

Después de salir para ver la musité nos quedamos sorprendidos de lo muerto que estaba. Caminando dimos con este restaurante del que había leído buenas críticas. Tras haber comido tarde no teníamos muchas ganas de cena y pedimos una ensalada de salmón y tabla de quesos. La atención inmejorable. En cuanto al precio la copa de vino algo subido 4,30. Por lo demás totalmente recomendable

Simpatia, aconchego e boa confeção.
Apesar do bom ambiente, de uma sala confortável (mas justa) e de um atendimento irrepreensível, o Sete Restaurante ainda vai crescer e vai certamente ser um restaurante de topo.
Com uma carta que em termos de novidade não aporta diferença, contudo a variedade enquadra e acaba por ser esquecida na confeção dos alimentos.
Para começar, escolhemos a salada de legumes. Faltou aqui algum pouco mais de sabor que pode ser oferecido, por exemplo, com uma vinagre balsâmico. Era uma salada saudável mas sem corpo ou capacidade de se impor na boca.
De seguida, optamos pela vitela, acompanhada de legumes e batata com queijo, inovador. A carne estava no ponto, macia e paladosa. Valeu cada garfada!
Com a vitela foi ainda possível escolher uma vastidão de vinhos das mais diversas regiões de Portugal (e arredores). Aqui os preços, como começa a ser habitual, estão desfasados da realidade, mas a casa é que sabe e decide.
Ao nível das sobremesas, aqui sim, o sete dá cartas e apresenta-se com toda a confiança. O bolo de chocolate e o pudim de abade são fantásticos sendo que as demais opções são de deixar água na boca.
Ao nível de localização, na minha opinião, não é das melhores mas não será o factor de desistência caso seja essa a questão para visitar este local. O estacionamento pode ser um problema, embora exista um parque pago muito próximo.
No cômputo geral o Sete é um espaço muito bom e agradável de se visitar. No entanto, fiquei com a ideia que se trata de um restaurante mais virado para o turismo, com um nível de preço algo elevado, não sendo para todas as carteiras.

This was an amazing experience. The staff perfectly suggested meals we would enjoy and wines that paired well, even down to the Port wine with dessert. The service was incredible, the food delicious, the location perfect scenic and quaint.

Restaurante requintado, com uma cozinha de primeira (chef Dionísio) na vanguarda do mix entre a comida tradicional e os sabores mais modernos! Uma sala e serviço requintado (sommelier Pedro) que nos fazem sentir como clientes únicos e especiais, que somos um sítio especial! Continuarei a frequentar este amável espaço.

I really enjoyed the place from the moment I entered. The menu was simple but consistent and it was written with a drop of humour that I appreciated. Food and service were excellent and dessert and wine on point. A fine reinterpretation of traditional Portuguese food. Recommend!

Nao gostei. Os pratos escolhidos nao foram grande coisa. Habituado a restaurantes baratos, caros, tascos e tudo mais. Na minha opiniao foi uma verdadeira desilusao. Estava a espera de muito melhor. O folhado de sardinha estava super picante. A carne dura e sem sabor, sem tempero algum. Carta de vinhos extensa. Os valores sao elevados pela qualidade e sabor apresentados. Fui la pelos comentários que vi aqui. E sinto que nao foi uma boa escolha. Os funcionários sao simpaticos e atenciosos. Mas fica por aqui. A comida em si, nao é grande coisa. A não repetir de certeza. Lamento pois tinha tudo para ser exelente.

Nos recomendaron unos amigos este lugar y la verdad es que fue todo un acierto. Cogimos el menú degustación y nos sorprendieron de verdad. De primero una ensalada muy buena. La sopa de marisco y pescado también espectacular. El mejor bacalao que he comido en mi vida. También probamos la carne y muy buena y muy tierna, y ya el remate final fue con el postre.... sin palabras. Sin duda lo recomendaré a mis amigos y si tengo la oportunidad volveré, nos gustó mucho. Además la situación es muy buena.

Nicest possible people and that cannot be emphasized enough. Not overly expensive, but not cheap. Certainly not haute cuisine, although it tries to be and it's a nice try. I sampled all main plates and salads the four of us ordered. #2 rated restaurant in Coimbra on Trip Advisor. Really!? Can a service like that be taken seriously?

Great service - terrible food.
We were so excited when we saw this restaurant had tons of vegetarian options. The waiter was great and recommended great wines. The food was very bad. We ordered the gazpacho which had turned. We sent it back and the waiter confirmed that it had spoilt. The sangria and fish soup were delicious. The 2 vegetarian dishes we ordered were not good. The mushroom dish was very weird, kind of gummy and the flavor was not good. They used dried Chinese mushrooms and the flavor profile did not work at all. The chickpea dish was bland, there was no flavor at all. The base was lukewarm mashed sweet potatoes with no flavor with sautéed cabbage that was old and limp and par cooked broccoli and cauliflower that tasted like it was days old at the grocery store. All that with a can of chickpeas thrown on the side. The waiter was excellent and understanding and they attempted to bring us a free desert however it was just ok as well. Overall, a very disappointing meal. Would not recommend.

I am so disappointed.
The service was great, very helpful and attentive.
But the food.... it just kept getting worse, the cold gazpacho soup had turned and was fizzy, the chef took it back and said it had gone bad.
The vegetables were not fresh, the Mushroom dish was bad, the steak was bland and it had come raw (asked for medium).
We read all the good reviews and were so excited and the waiter said it was unusual that all our dishes were bad. Maybe it was just a bad night? I don’t know either way the food made us feel sick and I would not recommend.
I am just sorry for the very nice waiters.

Davvero un ottimo ristorante. Il nome richiama l’idea di avere sempre 7 (sete) gruppi di portate tra cui scegliere, dalle aperture ai dolci. Ottimo l’uovo in camicia e il polpo (super) e le sardine. Dolci perfetti, io ho preso un piatto di formaggi davvero interessante. Prezzo nella norma.

Restaurant haut de gamme bien situé avec un Personnel très attentionné, des produits de qualité, un rapport qualité/prix plus que raisonnable.
Mieux vaut réserver à l'avance pour être sûr de pouvoir y manger (d'autant plus si on veut se poser sur la terrasse qui ne peut accueillir que 4 couverts).
Je recommande le gâteau au chocolat qui, même si on n'a plus faim, est un vrai régal !!

Great English speaking service, good hygene and the food is delicious!!
They have a variaty of meat, seafood and vegetarian courses.
Tip: Lamb, Octopus, Zalm and the Choclate mouse.
Extra tip: reservate a spot for outside so you have a extra nice view while enjoying the food and wine.

Gluten-free heaven - I was given my own menu, with plenty of choice, including gluten-free bread&beer, plus adaptations of many dishes from the regular menu. Service was exceptional - attentive, calm and efficient, and the food&drink were up there too.

Just amazing. The (vegan) food i had, the ambiance and kind hospitality by the staff. Prizes are more western european but worthy every penny. Fresh and made with passion and love. You can feel and taste this. Same for the “big” wines they serve.
I did not find this place on recommendation, it was just around tge cornet at the cafe where i listened to Fado music;) but i will recommend it now! 5 stars

Lugar aconchegante, chegamos sem reserva mas o chefe nos recebeu muito bem e logo nos acolheu numa mesa. A comida vinha em pratos generosos e era muito gostosa, preço bom, de 15€ a 19€ os pratos principais, tomamos 2 taças de vinho 4,9€ cada, sobremesa estava também deliciosa e grande, perfeita para duas pessoas. No final ainda foi servido como cortesia uma dose de vinho do Porto. Se voltar a Coimbra pretendo ir novamente ao Sete. Estava chovendo no dia e deixamos o “chapéu de chuva” ☔️ no bengaleiro, quando terminamos de jantar o meu ☔️ não se encontrava, estão peguei um outro parecido.

Place was recommended by our hosts. Unfortunately, we hat the worst meal of our trip to Portugal. The steak was terribly cooked (partly raw and completely chewy) and the salad tasted like nothing. Not recommended!

Just had our most delicious meal in Portugal!
I had the Lamb shank in red wine with chestnut purée, and Evan had the Traditional “Bairrada” suckling pig pie with pineapple chutney.
The service was unbelievably amazing! And the staff as well. They offered me a gluten free menu and the waiter was super friendly helping me understand the Portuguese cuisine! After eating we were stuffed, so as Canadians we asked for the bill to leave. The waiter came back with the bill but also two glasses of Port wine . I'm not sure if he thought we were unpleased? Because it was the best meal we have had! Or if he was being nice and welcoming us to the Portuguese culture. Either way it was a really nice gesture that made our night . Thank you for making the painful process of finding a gf meal so easy and pleasant

We got dinner last night at this place.
The food and service where great & helpful, from choosing the wine to recommending some of the dishes.
We started with the sea food soup, steak and code fish. And taped it all with white whine and some port for desert.
You can taste that the food and service are made with love.

Very good food and more original combinations than found in most Portuguese restaurants. I had cod, sweet potatoes and cabbage. Very good. Be early or have reservations, seems to be sold out every day (took us two tries to get in).

Un tempio della cucina e inoltre come saperci fare anche nelle situazioni difficili. Prenotazione per le 21.15 arriviamo e non c'è il tavolo ... Niente paura: ci offrono uno "street calice" di vinho verde eccellente ... Apprezziamo ma diciamo che siamo stanchi di stare in piedi ... Niente paura: ci portano due sgabelli e i menù per ingannare il tempo comodamente ... Bravissimi! Opinia jest dość niejednoznaczna. Z jednej strony jedzenie smaczne, z drugiej wybór tylko z siedmiu głównych dań. Wyszukanych. Dzieci nic nie zjedzą. Przystawek też chyba siedem. Na wejściu chleb i oliwki. Tanio nie jest. Główne dania kosztują powyżej 13 EUR. Karta win bardzo długa. Nie rozumiem, dlaczego ludzie gotowi są stać w kolejce czekając na stolik.

Petit diner en amoureux improvisé, on nous a accueillis tout de suite avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Le service était impeccable, en particulier un monsieur (barbe poivre et sel et lunettes) qui a tenu à parler français avec nous. Il était trop gentil.
Un délice du plat au dessert, je recommande les sardines avec un verre de vinho verde et le gâteau au chocolat en dessert à ne pas manquer.
Allez y les yeux fermés!

Se7e is so cute! Right beside the Monastery of Santa Cruz in a quaint square. The food was amazing, aswell as the staff. We ordered almost everything of the menu......and oh my gosh was it oh so good

For a different slant on portuguese cooking
This is a surprising restaurant, both to portuguese and foreigners. The dishes ARE NOT typically portuguese, but they are reinterpretations of the typical portuguese food. We had a sardine dish and the cambao dish, both "by name" typical food - but with cooking which made them very far away from the traditional portuguese food.
The outcome is nevertheless very interesting and worthwhile. Both for portuguese and foreigners coming to this restaurant will be an interesting and challenging meal, where new flavors of portuguese food will be found.
Desert was also nice, but not as surprising as the main dish. Service was quite professional, but becomes more slow as the room fills.
Overall, a place to go when you want to try something "portuguese, but different".

Apesar de ser numa zona histórica não foi difícil estacionar (parque de estacionamento do mercado) Dali ao restaurante foram dois minutos a pé. Comida muito bem confeccionada. Boas doses. Partilhamos as sobremesas entre todos e era cada uma melhor que a outra. O dono e chef do restaurante é super simpático e bem disposto. A repetir.

Comida deliciosa e em quantidades generosas. Houve algo comum a entradas, pratos e sobremesas. A atenção ao detalhe. Desde a combinação de especiarias e sabores usados à frescura dos ingredientes e ponto de confecção perfeito, vegetais e mariscos cozinhados exactamente o necessário, nem mais nem menos.
O serviço é extremamente eficaz e a simpatia impera.
No fim uma agradável surpresa, o preço é extremamente competitivo para esta qualidade.
Visita obrigatória numa próxima paragem por Coimbra até porque fica mesmo num dos pontos mais bonitos da cidade.

Sete Restaurant is a small restaurant right near Café Santa Cruz. It is almost hidden by the church but this may actually help to provide a more relaxed atmosphere in one of the most noted places in Coimbra.
The dishes were somehow different and more innovative comparing to other restaurants in this area. Overall, a simple menu with delicious dishes served in good portions.
The complementary cod salad was a nice surprise and the dessert (another offer) with pineapple carpasio with coconut ice cream was a great way to end a delicious meal (and hard not to finish).
I felt very welcome and although it has been opened for only a few months and there is a need to impress I have no problem recommending this place, either you are visiting Coimbra or a local.
I will be back, just to be sure.

The atmosphere is very cosy and tidy. The staff know English very well, so there was no time wasted in understanding each other. For two people you would need to spend around €40, However the portions are snall, but it will make you full. Considering it's located in the centre and the food the price tag is well suited. The quality of the food was excellent and was well prepared.I order a medium rare steak, in Portugal they usually go off and go for well cooked, however they prepared it medium rare. The staff is also very flexible, one of my friends kids didn't want anything from the menu and so he ordered French Fries and they delivered. This was very astoundig, and the Fries where handmade. Lastly the staff noticed that one of my friends was sad ( she was very tired), so they gave her a desert for no extra charge, which was very surprising. I would recommend this place if you don't mind spending about €40 for two people. I don't recommend it if you have kids with you as it's more of adult themed restaurant

The salmon was well cooked. The staff was flexible enough to exchange couscous with sautéed vegetables. However, they charge Eu1 for a small portion of olive oil. Service is fine but I find it a little over priced and calculating charging for small items like olive oil.
