Kann man nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen! Ich bin nur zufällig dort gestrandet, weil ich meinen Koffer dort abstellen wollte, während ich auf meinen Bus warten musste, und wurde vom wahnsinnig netten Rezeptionisten einfach spontan und gratis zum super leckeren Frühstück mit selbstgemachten pancakes und lokalen Spezialitäten eingeladen!! Das Personal war durchweg super freundlich und hilfsbereit und der Vibe im hostel rundum positiv. Das Highlight ist natürlich die traumhafte Dachterrasse mit Hängematte, Sofas und Blick über den Hafen von Faro, ein Traum! Ich komme gerne wieder und bleib das nächste Mal auch über Nacht ;)

Very, nice and super cosy hostel in Faro. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. Nice rooftop area with additional shower and a great view to the marina. The lockers are outside of the room which makes it easy to pack your stuff even when room mates are sleeping already. All in all the best hostel I stayed in so far. I can definitely recommend this place!

Das ist definitiv das beste Hostel in dem ich jemals war!! Das Personal ist super freundlich und die Stimmung ist unglaublich gut :) Man lernt sehr schnell neue Leute kennen und das Bad ist sehr sauber. Außerdem kann man sich auf dem Dach in eine Hängematte legen und total entspannen !! Einfach großartig!

In jeder Ecke dieser Unterkunft spürt man mit wie viel Liebe und Leidenschaft die errichtet wurde! Ein unglaublich sauberes und sehr schönes Hostel mit einer wunderschönen Dachterrasse! Die Zimmer und Bäder sind wirklich sehr sauber, incl. der Toilette und Dusche auf der Dachterrasse in der frischen Luft :) Die Menschen kommen bei dem gemeinsamen Früstück zusammen und es schafft eine besondere Atmosphäre. (Wir sind um 6 Uhr abgereist uns das Frühstück war für uns schon vorbereitet. Es ist wirklich einmalig!) Adrian und Fabricio sind unglaublich freundliche, hilfsbereite und empathische Menschen, die ihre Arbeit lieben und leben!

I had an amazing time at the Casa da Madalena hostel! Really friendly staff who are always up for a chat. Having only 16 beds creates a really nice atmosphere, especially when everyone comes together over pancakes in the morning. The roof deck is another really great space where I spent many hours just lying in a hammock enjoying the Portuguese sun. It was a bit confusing to find the hostel when I first arrived based on the instructions given, but other than that I have absolutely no complaints about this hostel and will definitely be back next time I'm in the Algarve.

Free WiFi, free towel for a shower, free pancake breakfast :) and some free snack food, coffee and tea all day long. This hostel is clean, comfortable, and cute. The ground floor common area/ kitchen/ reception area is charming. It was remodeled recently and has an iron stove for a fireplace, and a kitchen that you can use, too. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and fun. You'll feel welcome and at home. The roof is a terrace with hammocks, sitting areas for a smoke, and an outdoor shower. Bunk beds are bolted to the walls, so they do not move and squeak during the night. I had a relaxing, pleasant, and social stay here.

What an amazing experience I just had in staying hostel. Wonderful, stunning and relaxing atmosphere. Slow music, dim yellow light with wine and bier will blow up your mind. Friendly staff!!

Wow! ... Ankommen und wohl fühlen. Dieses Hostel hat nicht ohne Grund so gute Bewertungen! Host Adrian und seine liebenswerte Crew arbeiten hart und geben sich viel Mühe, damit sich jeder einfach nur wohl fühlt und einen tollen Aufenthalt hat. Alles ist sehr sauber, ansprechend und praktisch eingerichtet. -> Wie eine Familie. Das Hostel ist eher klein, aber dafür super familiär. Wenn man das möchte, findet man sofort Anschluss. Adrian hat immer ein offenes Ohr, zeigt einem alles und hat tolle Tipps für Faro und Umgebung. Wer Glück hat, darf vielleicht sogar mal probieren, was die liebe Anett tolles für die Crew gekocht hat. Ich wurde jedenfalls noch nie so herzlich in einem Hostel empfangen, wie hier. -> Küche Gerne kann man sich in der Küche seine eigenen Gerichte zubereiten. Hier fehlt es an nichts: Kühlschrank, Töpfe, Pfannen, Besteck, Salz, Küchenpapier.. alles war da! -> Die Schlafräume Je 4 x Doppelstockbetten gibt es in den zwei geräumigen Zimmern. Große Schließfächer sind vorhanden. Die Betten sind stabil und bequem. Gehörschutz sollte man, wie eigentlich in jedem Hostel trotzdem mitnehmen. Schnarcher gibt es einfach überall! ;) -> Frühstück Kaffee oder Tee sind den ganzen Tag lang kostenlos. Morgens gibt es Müsli und ab 9:00 die wohl schon legendären Pancakes von Adrian. Lecker!! Es lohnt sich also lange zu schlafen. ;-) -> Lage Top! Nur wenige Sekunden bis zum Hafen, Bahnhof, Busbahnhof und dem Zentrum von Faro und dabei trotzdem in ruhiger Lage. Sonstiges Für wenig Geld kann man sich direkt im Hostel ein Fahrrad mieten oder an der nächsten Ecke. Wer absolute Ruhe möchte, für den ist ein Hostel sowieso nicht das Richtige. Das Hostel richtet sich an individual Reisende und offene Menschen. Familien und Pärchen werden sich hier eher nicht wohl fühlen. Fazit: Ein tolles Hostel, dass ich sehr weiter empfehlen kann. Ich habe mich super wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für den großartigen Aufenthalt! Weiter so!!!

Une auberge de jeunesse vraiment sympa, rénovée recement avec goût et dotée d'une terrasse sur le toit très bien aménagée. L'accueil est chaleureux et les pancakes du petit déjeuner délicieux. L'auberge est très bien située : à deux minutes du centre ville et des gares routière et ferroviaire. Une auberge de jeunesse à recommander les yeux fermés.

It was a nice place the host was super helpful we came late asking for a place they offered us hammocks and some yoga Mets to sleep... It was nice and on the roof and the hostel is clean

Wenn man das Hostel betritt wird man mit einem warmen Lächeln empfangen! Wir durften hier unterkommen und haben viel Zeit auf der wunderschönen Dachterrasse verbracht, die eine schöne Aussicht auf Faro bietet. Das Hostel mit seinen Mitarbeitern, seinem Ambiente und Charme hat uns tolle und entspannende Tage in Faro ermöglicht!

Sadly we could only stay one night in this beautiful gem as our trip went on. The staff gave us a warm welcome and very valuable tips for the town and traveling around portugal. We loved the rooftop with hammocks and even a shower on the roof. They say you get the best homemade pancakes at madalena :) We highly recommend and would definitiely come back to this place!

I will start with the positive thing , which is that the hostel is quite clean . I did not enjoy the atmosphere of the hostel at all , I felt that the owner was very weird and was forcing himself to be nice . I felt the same thing about the staff. They gave me the impression that they were not pleased when I was coming late ,even though I was not noisy , they did not give me a key for the main entrance and a half asleep man was opening the door for me .If I had to describe the hostel in one sentence , it would be very weird owner ,staff and a very odd management of the hostel . BAD ATMOSPHERE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

I would highly recommend this small friendly hostel. The hostel is in an excellent location about 2 minutes away from the bus and train station. It is about 15 minutes from the airport. There are a wide range of restaurants and bars in walking distance catering for a variety of price ranges. There are some great local restaurants where you can buy a great meal and wine for less than 7 euros. All essential amenities are close by. The staff are amazing and make you feel at home. The communal kitchen and breakfast pancakes create a family feeling. There was a communal evening meal on the nights I stayed which was great and a very unique experience. Ottimo ostello!! Personale fantastico, è come essere a casa. Location perfetta da cui partire per visitare l’Algarve. Pulizia, reception aperta h24 e a pochi passi dalla stazione degli autobus ad un prezzo imbattibile. Super consigliato!

Mega freundlicher Empfang, fühlte mich von der erste Sekunde wie zuhause. Ich hatte eigentlich nur vor der Tür auf jemanden gewartet und wurde direkt vom staff eingeladen für ein Bier und dem wlan Passwort. Ich hoffe ihr bekommt sogute Gäste wie ihr seit. Beste Grüße

Espaço agradável e limpo, embora haja algumas faltas, nomeadamente uma sala de estar e de refeições, televisão, um frigorífico com congelador, mesmo assim a simpatia dos funcionários é muito boa.

Wonderful place! Friendly, welcoming staff. Very clean Hostel with plenty if facilities available. The breakfast was amazing every morning. I would revisit here again and again.

The greatest hostel ever! Why? Its feels super welcoming, as the maximum occupancy is 16 people and you get to meet everybody at dinner/beer or breakfast. Breakfast is included and with delicious pancakes. The reception (open 24h!) is i the same place as the kitchen and living area so it's easy to socialize with both the lovely staff & guests. I meet some great people even though I stayed just one night, and even ended up travelling with one of them afterwards! Big thanks to Adrien & Anett :)

J’ai séjourné à Faro dans cette superbe auberge de jeunesse en mars 2017 pendant 3jours, et vraiment j’ai passé de super moment! (Je suis à la traine, mais je suis tombée par hasard sur le site ) C’est un endroit très convivial, Adrien reçoit très bien ses « hôtes » ( on avais jouer au Yanoff ,un jeu de carte. PS: Il fait les meilleurs pancakes du monde. Vraiment je recommande cette auberge si vous aimez le partage,la découverte et la convivialité! Chloé(La bretonne )

Good breakie...nice and clean hostel, great location as close to everything, low key chilled vibe... very happy and smiley staff, dont worry hungarian lady i went and saw the terrace, very nice indeed, perfect for some vino; keep smiling, very nice captivating smile you had and yes hungarian girls have curly hair haha, amazing things do happen and yes french receptionist your hair and smile are beautful also, dont panic. The most gorgeous french children enjoying pancakes and chocolate sauce, it was a real treat to sit with people of all ages from around the world and have breakfast together...and as with all french food it looked spectaclar...maintain these standards.

Really cannot rate this hostel highly enough. Staff, facilities, comfort all excellent. Cleanliness goes way beyond excellent.

I hat a fantastic time at Casa da Madalena. Very serendipitous. The location in Faro is excellent. Walking distance from the beach, and bus station. The hostel itself has a beautiful roof, it's not too crowded, and everything is clean. I also went back a few days later to say hi and ask for directions and a printed boarding pass. All smiles upon returning. Highly Recommend !!!

Excelente localização, próximo às estações de trens e ônibus e do aeroporto. Ótimas instalações em local central e seguro. Desde o proprietário, um francês pra lá de gente boa, ao André, brasileiro que fez um café delicioso para mim ao amanhecer, o staff é acolhedor, solícito e amigo. Sou uma jovem senhora de meia idade, nunca havia me hospedado em um hostel e não poderia ter feito escolha melhor para um pernoite. Simplesmente adorei!

Se eu pudesse dar 10 estrelas, eu daria, mas n tem!!!! Lugar, local, limpeza, recepção, dormitório, banheirooooooos!! Aqui vc pode tomar banho se sentindo na rua. Simmm!! Uma experiência ímpar! Eu voltarei mil xxxxx mil!

Great hostel. We were looking for a place for a night and didn't hope that we would find something in the centre of Faro. The hosts were very kind and helped us - they found us a place to sleep in their lovely terrace. Really appreciate!

I stayed here for 3 nights during a solo tour of Portugal and I absolutely loved it. It’s kept very clean and has a wonderful rooftop area where I spent quite a bit of time lounging in a hammock. The location is perfect for touring old town and catching the ferry (or bus) to Praia de Faro. On days spent on the beach I borrowed an umbrella from the hostel as the sun is quite strong and the shade was much needed but saved me money and packing space to borrow one! The people working are very friendly and knowledgeable, able to share suggestions over a delightful espresso and plate of pancakes! Other patrons were kind, friendly, and courteous as well. I highly recommend staying here if you’re making your way to Faro! Muito obrigada!

Right next to Faro bus station so very convenient and easy to get to. Its a 1 minute walk from the bus station. Rooms are clean and tidy. There is 24 hour security at reception and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Anyone stopping by at Faro I would re comend.

Great, cozy hostel with a nice roof terrace! The hostel has place for sixteen people, so it is quite small and therefore feels very personal. For example the 'family breakfast' with everyone gathered around one table, with great home made pancakes. Both the staff and the other guests were very friendly and open and gave us plenty of tips for our journey. Furthermore, it was no problem for the staff that we arrived an hour after midnight, they waited for us to check in.

Amazing staff and manager, super friendly. This was my 2nd stay and would highly recommend to stay here. Literally a 1 minute walk from the bus station if you arrive on a late flight like I did, and 4 minutes walk from train station to get to Lagos and beyond to Sagres for some surf. Definitely stay here and say hello to the super friendly manager as he will add joy to your trip. P.s. free pancakes for breakfast!

Wow. I can't marvel enough about this place. Every morning the owner serves up the homiest platefuls of pancakes with almost all the guests seated around a dining table with fresh air breathing in. The architecture is a beautiful remodelling of original stone, matched with aesthetically pleasing wood and marble. They rent bikes for 15 euros a day and tell you exactly where to explore, and what restaurants to see. I met some of the most amazing people here and will definitely come back anytime I'm back in Faro.

One of the most friendly hostels I've ever stayed at! I walked in late evening and was greeted by a group of travellers hanging out in the kitchen and stayed out with them till 4am One small issue at the moment is noise as the neighbors are doing construction, but that'll end at some point and they offer free ear plugs

Very welcoming! It was clean and peaceful, not a party hostel. Just beside the train and bus station. Pancakes for breakfast and everybody just talks and chill together in the mornings and evenings. Awesome rooftop as well!!

The hostel is run by Adrian who's brilliant..he manages, cooks and even does the gardening himself... friendliest place, perfect location...just 3-4 mins to the bus, train station and marina... have fallen in love with this place

Incredibly friendly and laid back 16 bed place. It's a labour of love for owner and staff. Nothing too much trouble. Small and intimate, very clean, communal area great for meeting others and there's a rooftop space, though closed when I was there as out of season. Great location for train and bus station, all amenities and airport only 2.30euro and 20m on bus.

The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and give great recommendations for restaurants. The hostel is quite small and has a cozy kitchen/common room and a nice roof terrace. The rooms and facilities were clean. Would stay again.

Amazing place great stay lovely people and facilities. Easy access to train station and bus station restaurants are really good found a Gem 30 seconds away no sign outside. We had absolute pleasant stay at this hostel. It's homely hostel. People who take care of this place live there and take good care of the place. The ambiance of the hostel is friendly. All the caretakers are super helpful and friendly! We got wonderful breakfast at the hostel. Everyone greets each other, they have dinners together on some days, which you can participate with them. Fun place to be. We were given good restaurant suggestions in Faro for one of dinners. Feel good place.

Highly recommanded! Perfect place to stay in Faro. Close to many bars and good restaurants, five minutes walk to the old town (walk along the marina), right in front of the bus station and two minutes walking distance from the train station. Couldn't be more ideal! Adrien is very welcoming and friendly, he makes you feel like at home and gives you good recommandations.The place is confortable and clean. The breakfast is great (thanks again for the banana pancakes !) and you are sharing it with the others travelers so that's perfect for socializing. You can also access the kitchen and make tea or coffee anytime during the day. I can't find anything negative to say, well done Adrien !

So-so, kinda noisy. You can leave valuable stuff at the reception. To get to the hostel you need to ask a host to open the door for you. Pluses are that the host was very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast is tasty and everyone is sitting at the same table so you can chat.

The best hostel I have been in. . It was such a pleasure to stay there I booked for an extra night..Newly decorated.. Everything was so clean and very relaxed. Adrian, Cooper and the lovely Nicole are such perfect hosts. From unlimited pancakes to freshly brewed coffee. The cleanest walk in shower rooms and such comfortable and crisp clean bedding. I'm feeling jealous already. It was a chilled out hostel. With a very well equipped kitchen and a beautiful dinning table to eat and relax the evenings away.. Cooper on the relaxed music and Adrian making everyone feel so welcome. I came a stranger and left as a friend.. Thank you all.. Will be seeing you again Tonythepirate cycle traveller.....

An Airbnb host cancelled on me at the last minute and I was looking for accommodation for the night. As there was only one review, I was a little dubious, but I've had an excellent experience here. It was €15 for the night and the guys that run it are very friendly and helpful. There's a safe available for valuables and breakfast is included. Checkout is at 11:00 and I arrived pretty late at night. In my room there were 4 or five others and it was quiet, comfortable and I was able to charge things. That's the most important thing to me when I'm away from home. It is cash only, but there's an ATM very nearby.
