Noisy breakfast, Expensive, Not luxury and Dirty Atmosphere around the Pool. Mostly for old people with no education.

Yes, the garden is beautiful, BUT ... - there is little to no room service. We stayed 8 nights at the end of May 2019 and there was exactly ONE room service during our stay. Fresh towels are provided only every three days. Additional towels and room service are charged extra. Even the trashcans were not emptied. - Our room next to the reception (Center "Villa") had a very mouldy/damp smell and made quite an outdated impression (old rags, blotchy Ikea curtains ...). - Breakfast is VERY basic and definitely not what you'd expect for more than 140 €/night - Jacuzzi is quite disappointing, because most of the jets are not working. Overall: Definitely NOT worth the money.

Beautiful nudist gay resort in a quiet village in the Portuguese countryside. Super friendly staff that made us feel home. All in all highly recommendable if you‘re looking for a relaxing timeout.

I love this place. The reservation process appeared a little disorganised, however, Ron was extremely accommodating and we were able to stay due to a cancellation. Stayed in a Manor room. The one next to the kitchen. And that opens directly onto the street/church/square. I didn’t hear the kitchen any of the 3 days that I stayed. The bells from the church are beautiful and a real treat. I was on holiday and felt privileged to stay in paradise in a southern Portuguese village... sure the bells are there and I couldn’t miss them, however,as I said I was on holiday in a country I have only dreamed of visiting. The residents of the village live there and I felt great to experience some of their culture. The bells I certainly never hear at home!! The pool and gardens are obviously a product of much love and it was wonderful to see such a collection of plants from all over the world. A massage from Ron is also a personal recommendation. I had been nursing a sore back/hip and Ron found the problem straight away and worked his magic on it. I just needed more treatments. I love the culture of the Casa Risa.... there is something for everyone, you can party hard if you wish..... rest by the pool as a romantic couple and enjoy the freedom of being in a totally Gay environment. You could also meet friends to go to the wonderful beaches. There really is something for everyone. The parking is fine. Just park on the street outside. Breakfast is great. It’s a continental breaky, however, there was nice local bread each day and plenty of choices. Go with an open mind and it will be a delight. Love Hamish

Superbe jardin tropical dans un petit village Pour apaisant. Le petit déjeuner n'est vraiment pas à la hauteur, c'est vraiment dommage. L'accueil est très convivial et le bar dans le jardin agréable pour boire un très bon cocktail autour de la piscine. Les chambres de la partie recentre sont simple et agréable. Petit bémol sur les matelas vraiment trop souple, pas du tout dans le standard européen mais plutôt américain.

Ce n'est plus un lieu gay men exclusivement...

An attractive garden, does not justify a high price, for a not deep swimming pool, a not diversified breakfast, a jacuzzi with a dirty water , towels and sheets used, and the noise all night long in the Jacuzzi with drunk customers ! It is not definitively a restful or luxurious hotel, in spite of high shown prices and swindle on the beautiful photos.

Fantastic hidden gem in the Algarve. The gardens and rooms are amazing, it's very tropical and like you're in Hawaii. It's mainly gay clientele but everyone is welcome.. Ron it's the best host and goes above and beyond in helping everyone out. Great location on the train line to lagos and Portimão. Well worth a visit.

Casa Risa was a great place to relax for a few nights. The pool and garden area are a fantastic tropical oasis to be able to relax naked in the sun. To make the most of the area you'd probably be best to have a car as the village is quite small.

This is the perfect place to stay in the Algarve. It's centrally located, with short driving distances to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It's a true gay men's resort in which men who have the right attitude can enjoy themselves and relax--so please do not come if you're bitter and/or repressed and bent on reducing others' enjoyment. Above all the place is fantastically beautiful, a microenvironment full of wonderful plants, artworks, rooms and other facilities. Not everything looks brand new because it isn't. So if you're prissy about that, go somewhere else and pay much more for a place that will be devoid of this one's character and heart. Speaking of heart, Ron has put together a wonderful team who will always treat you well. We especially hit it off with Marcelo, Ron himself, and Ron's charismatic Portuguese friends in the town, all beautiful souls. Don't miss it if you're planning a trip to the Algarve.

Der Garten & Pool sind wirklich sehr gepflegt. Unser Zimmer im Haupthaus war gemütlich und es gab ausreichend Platz. Leider gab es in den 9 Nächten, die wir dort waren nur 1x eine Zimmerreinigung mit Handtuchwechsel, auch der Mülleimer wurde nur einmal ausgeleert. Das ist zuwenig für den Übernachtungspreis! Das "Frühstück" ist eher spartanisch, aber es gibt immer frisches Obst. Der Gastgeber Ron ist zwar freundlich, aber nicht zuverlässig. Von ihm selbst vorgeschlagene Aktivitäten (z.B. Bootstour, Barbeque) werden entweder von ihm vergessen oder finden aus anderen Gründen nicht statt. Das ist schade um die Urlaubszeit, wenn man sich auf seine "Organisation" verlässt. Die sonstigen Mitarbeiter waren stets freundlich und aufmerksam. Durch die zwanglose Atmosphäre, die Interaktion mit den anderen Gästen und das "Kleidung optional"-Konzept hatten wir trotzdem eine schöne Zeit in der Casa Risa.

Fantastic place... Great Staff... Ron (the owner) is always looking for the best for the guests and João (the manager) is very professional and warm. Is so relaxing and comfortable that you don't want to leave.

This is a very nice guesthouse, with a really nice pool and a relaxed atmosphere. But it's not without it's faults. For instance I was staying in the room by the kitchen, which certainly wasn't relaxing. The lady started doing breakfast at about 7:45 which makes lots of noise. Also you're right by the church in that room, so you have the clock bonging from 8am to 10pm at night. There's absolutely no way you can sleep with that going on. So you're basically getting up at 8am like it or not. Also things like the jacuzzi wasn't working, which spoilt things slightly. In all honesty my review would have been marked lower if it wasn't for the host. The guy is very helpful and friendly. I spoke to him about my issues with the noise and I appreciate there's not much he could have done about it. Though I didn't know about the clock tower or the jacuzzi at the time of booking, which was only a few days before I turned up. I also liked his attitude towards the naturism theme. He walked around butt naked without a care in the world. So to summarise you're paying quite a bit for this bed and breakfast, which overall I would say is worth it. I do however wonder if you're simply paying more as it's a gay/straight friendly resort and you're allowed to lounge around naked. If I was to visit Casa Risa again I think I would upgrade to one of the pool side rooms, as you're unlikely to be bothered by the church bells or the kitchen noise.

Complejo gay para pasar unos días de relax y visitar las mejores playas gays a pocos minutos. Con piscina, spa, bonitos jardines y bonita decoración. Es muy buen sitio ya que convives con los demás huéspedes y compartes comedor, sala de estar con tv, libros, zonas de relax etc.

Beautiful garden, nice people, very friendly and a good place to stay and visit the area. You need a car to move around.
