Andre, Leah, Andre's father were so accomodating from the get go during our stay, which was a welcomed delight. Hostel has a homely feel, not the most modern facilities, but clean and comfortable enough for our three night stay. The kitchen is awesome, it was also great to be given the option of cooking on the BBQ. The backyard makes it easy to socialise with other travellers. Luca the dog was also a lovely surprise, it was nice come home after a long day at the beach for a cuddle. The beach itself is about a 10 min walk. We left the Shelter wishing we'd extended our stay in Lagos, thank you for such a memorable time :)

I left something expensive at the hostel and the owners ignored several emails when I tried to get it back.

An amazing hostel that felt like home. Andre was incredibly chill and welcoming! Great location for food, beaches and bars! Shelter also has a gracious golden retriever called Luca that made the stay even more enjoyable and homely! Make sure to ask Andre if he likes bread ;)

Such a cool family that hosts the Shelter. Always helping or giving a recommendation for a market, beach, etc. the dorms are small but very clean. The kitchen very well equipped.

Awesome family and the hostel is walking distance to the beach and main restaurants, supermarkets etc. I will be back.

Hands down the best hostel I have stayed at. Such a relaxed chilled out vibe. Feels more like a home from home. Andrea, Miguel and arial go out their way to ensure you enjoy your stay; always inviting you out for dinner, drinks, to the beach. The hostel dog dog Luca is another highlight. Close to surf, bars and restaurants. Will definitely return.

In love with this place. I felt like standing in friend's house. The shelter crew is amazing! I loved the four days spent here. Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful place and super nightlife. Can't wait to coming back soon!!
