Kind and special place and owners. Not luxury. Small and quiet. Great value for money, always something more than you expect. Animal friendly. Great bar and excellent pizza on Wednesday (book previously).

De camping ligt in een natuurgebied. Zeer stil gelegen. Helaas is de schade van een flinke bosbrand 2 jaar terug nog goed te zien. Hou je van rust en sfeervol kamperen dan zit je goed. Hou je van dieren ook. Honden en katten lopen los en zijn talrijk. Uit hygiënisch oogpunt vinden wij dit in het sfeervolle restaurant niet gewenst. Gastvrouw Mieke een Vlaamse doet haar best het eenieder nasr de zin te maken. Let op de camping is erg klein ligt afgelegen en is niet geschikt voor grote caravans of campers. Hellend terrein. Sanitair schoon maar wel klein en te donker.

Sehr schöner Campingplatz, klein aber fein. Wer die Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Sanitäranlagen immer sauber und gepflegt. Das Drumherum ist mit viel Liebe angelegt. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Familiar, sem maruquices de cidade. Venha ser simples e sentir-se à vontade.
Sala de bar/ refeição/ convívio com música suave bem escolhida, sem barulho. 4 gatos e 4 cães que não incomodam e dão ar de lar.

Little but very peaceful camping. It is clean, with a lot of trees and popular prices in the bar. If you go with your own dog, keep in mind that the camping' dogs walk freely for all the zone.

Wij verbleven een week op de camping in een huurtent. Al het nodige materiaal is aanwezig. De sfeer op de camping is zeer relaxed en klantvriendelijk. Er is ook een bistro/bar waar je kan eten en drinken en waar ook de lokale inwoners graag naartoe komen.

Camping sympa, la propriétaire parle le français, les emplacements sont plutôt petits les sanitaires vieillots mais le cadre est très agréable. Bar restaurant avec une terrasse de charme donnant sur la piscine et un panorama permettant de profiter de magnifiques couchers de soleil.

A wonderful family campsite. We loved Toca da Raposa, the owners are really friendly and very helpful. The place is beautiful with nice private camping areas and a great little pool. Every evening they cook great hearty dinners for a very reasonable price. This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back. We used it as a base for walking, canoe trips and horse riding.

Infelizmente só dispunha de bebidas, nada mas mesmo nada de aperitivos... é pena pois o espaço, a simpatia e a forma calorosa como fomos recebidos foi digno de nota 5. Recomendo a pizza, que salvo erro servem á quarta-feira, 5 estrelas para a pizza também. Não consegui perceber se não tinha sala de estar ou se a mesma se encontrava fechada devido a restrições relacionadas com a pandemia.

Toca da Raposa is the camping everybody likes,it is very nice organized with plenty of shady spots for your tent or caravan. It is a cozy campsite, not a big and unpersonal place like many around. No, Toca has the perfect size for a fantastic holiday. They have an original café with terras to hang out Mieke is the perfect hostess and Stefanie the perfect helping angel jumping around. They organize special evenings with home made pizzas, or other delicious cuisine, acoustic concerts ect. They have a pool and a fantastic view to the mountains of Estrella. Toca da Raposa has many possibilitys for activitys in the neighborhood like horse riding,kayak, hiking, ect you will not regret your stay at this lovely place, I love it!

Een heerlijke camping met gastvrije mensen in een fantastische en ruige omgeving. Echt een aanrader voor hen die willen hiken in en rond de bergen van de Serra da Estrela.
Klein maar prettig detail: geen hek met prikkeldraad, geen slagboom, geen toegangspasjes! Eigenlijk geeft de camping het gevoel van wildkamperen maar dan veilig en met warme douches.

What a fabulous site. A small group of bikers, we loved it here. Great little pitches amongst the trees in a beautiful rural setting. Great facilities & pool. Owner was very friendly & welcoming. Provided us with a simple, tasty evening meal, a few beers & a great breakfast. We shall return!!

Haven't been there for camping.
But the Belgian lady who runs the place is very nice and helpful.
We were there for a live concert of a local band.
It's a nice place to meet - not only for campers, but also for locals and expats living in the area as well.
They have special events every month during the Camping season like music gigs, Pizza nights or Asian buffet (see their Facebook page for updates).

Beautiful environment; cozy, informal atmosphere; a wide variety of friendly animals; adequate yummy menu; lovely owners and staff. I will tell everyone what a great time I had there, I will be back whenever, I will dream about the cats incessantly. Thanks Toca da Raposa.

É uma lufada de ar fresco!
Os proprietários transmitem muito boas vibrações e isso sente-se no espaço.
A Zona de convívio é super acolhedora, reabilitada com materiais locais que nos recordam o que é "ser" uma casa típicamente portuguesa de uma forma bastante sofisticada.
E o melhor é esta experiência acontecer em perfeita harmonia com a envolvente. A Serra da Estrela nas costas, e um pôr do sol a esconder-se no fundo de uma imensidão de árvores à nossa frente.
Voltarei certamente a montar e a desmontar tenda neste espaço!

Le camping du bonheur ! Le personnel est très accueillant et pourra vous conseiller sur les lieux à visiter dans la région, et cela dans toutes les langues que vous voulez (même le flamand, c'est pour dire). Le camping est très bien situé à 30min du parc Serra Da Estrela. Enfin le coin restaurant est très agréable et saura ravir vos papilles et/ou votre foie.

Local lindo, bem organizado, espaçoso, boas condições, equipamentos em óptimas condições e atendimento de primeira e de muita proximidade sem esquecer a privacidade. Óptimo local para férias em família com ou sem crianças. Obrigado pelos maravilhosos dias que eu e minha família aí passamos. Esperamos repetir

Wunderschöne naturbelassene Anlage, superfreundliche Betreiberin. Lockeres, freundschaftliches Ambiente. Sehr saubere Sanitäreinrichtungen.
Günstige Preise, sehr gutes Essen.
Früher als Campingplatz für Motorradfahrer, jetzt Familiencamping.
Sehr gut ausgeschildert.
Kein Shop, Selbstversorger müssen in der Stadt einkaufen, Brötchen fürs Frühstück können am Vortag bestellt werden

Vriendelijke ontvangst. Uitstekende sfeer. We werden meteen uitgenodigd om mee te eten s avonds, voor 10 euro pp. Er zou Indisch gekookt gaan worden.
Bewegwijzering kan duidelijker. Plek op Acsi app is het direct aan de weg, maar daar zie je nog niets van de camping. Je moet dan nog 450 meter "oprit" oprijden.
De rit er naar toe kwam je langs een gebied waar bosbranden zijn geweest, ook huizen zijn toen gesneuveld. Heftig en beklemmend gevoel. Als je bij de camping komt ben je net weer buiten dat gebied, is het weer groen.
Wi-Fi op de camping viel tegen, alleen bereik op het terras.
Het eten was heerlijk. Haha, we waren wel een uur te vroeg, hadden even niet in de gaten dat in Portugal geen zomertijd wordt gehanteerd. Ach, beter te vroeg dan te laat, als alles al op is....
Gezellig terras, 's avonds kijk je uit over de lichtjes in de stad verderop. Ook knus restaurant ( tevens receptie). Je moet wel van dieren houden, want er zijn twee katten, die over de bar lopen en op de tafels in het restaurant slapen en er zijn twee honden. Persoonlijk vind ik dat die niet in het restaurant horen.
's Avonds een koude douche: het water werd maar niet warm. Op een gegeven moment eindelijk toch, maar dat was van zeer korte duur. 's Ochtends was de douche wel heerlijk warm.
Leuk zwembad, kwam al aardig op temperatuur.
Alles bijelkaar: knusse, easy going camping met gezellige gastvrouw en mooi uitzicht. Oh: en goeie muziek!!!!
We zijn hier maar 1 nachtje geweest, want we wilden verder, naar Porto. Maar als we langer vakantie hadden gehad waren we nog een nachtje gebleven.

O Camping Toca da raposa, é um Camping Rural, no sopé da Serra da Estrela. Local muito agradável, em contacto com a Natureza, Exclusivo para quem gosta de descansar em local silencioso, sereno e tranquilizante. Verdadeiro Campismo! A Gerência do parque é muito Próxima dos visitantes. Simpática. Ambiente familiar. Recomendo aos meus amigos que passam a vida a correr. Descanso em verdadeiro ambiente Puro.

What a lovely family campsite this is. Not too big and not too small. Even for my 7,5m long campervan we found a good spot. I enjoyed a good time here, had fun with Mieke and her sons, enjoyed the beautiful nature and could really relax. Thanks for all your wonderful concern, especially after my little accident and injury on my head... Good luck and all the best to you!

Lovely small and friendly campsite with shady and sunny pitches. The site has instructions in English for three short walks in the local area that are waymarked with coloured dots. The site has a pleasant bar and restaurant with a pizza oven.

Spent 2 nights here. Night 1 was as per reviews and wonderfully peaceful. Night 2 was awful. A band played till after 0.30. I managed to fall asleep then. Woke up again at 330 and they were still partying. Coupled with barking dogs who are allowed to roam the site freely pretty bad. Staff are friendly and location lovely although no segregation between motorhomes and tents. We even had a couple sleep in a car next to us! Gave night 1 4 stars and night 2 0 stars so average only 2.

Amazing place nearby to so many very special Portuguese villages, river beaches, mountain water natural swimming pools etc etc. Super-friendly and helpful family-run beautiful and clean campsite. Couldnt be better. Our whole family cant wait to go back.

An oasis in the middle of nowhere. A terraced site and the ground is rather hard so good strong pegs and mallet are a necessity. Much of the site is shady but there are some sunny spots.
Rates are reasonable and bar prices are also quite reasonable. However it's cash only; no cheques or cards. Free and reasonably fast WiFi.
Pool is very small but fine for the kids. The facilities are clean with toilet paper provided, although showers were rather on the cool side.
Seems to attract a young and friendly clientele.
Site owner is approachable and speaks English, Dutch, Flemish and Portuguese.
On the downside were the few dogs wandering around the grounds which I found a little bothersome.
But on the whole a nice site and a pleasant stay.

Amazing campsite with a nice atmosphere and awesome staff! The food is really good and the prices are ok. There's a pool, bar, free wifi, clean toilets/showers and lots of shade. I will definitely revisit this campsite at some point. Our two night stay turned into five!

Het voelt alsof je thuis komt! Mooie gezellige terrascamping. Zeer vriendelijke uitbaatster. 4 x in de week kun je voor luttel bedrag mee eten. Hondvriendelijk hoewel er ook twee katten zijn. Mooi zwembad zeer schoon sanitair waar nog elke dag verbeteringen aangebracht worden. Mooi wandelgebied uitdaging is tuurlijk om de echte Toca te vinden. In het bos schuilt de echte vos. Leuke gezellige camping voor gezinnen met kleine kinderen ouderen gezinnen. Kortom gewéldig!

Un lieu super reposant. Bon accueil. Très bon repas le soir préparé mais par la propriétaire, un petit côté baba cool bien sympa, piscine petite et pas super clean. Mais dans un écrin de verdure. Bar top... Un bon lieu de repos dans la campagne portugaise.
