Great house, clean and with all the commodities we needed. The host was very helpefull and made us feel at home. Spend a few days with family members and was the right place. Very spacious and the view from the house is breathtaking. Highly recommended it.

We stay at this place for one week in July 2019. Looking for privacy and restful environment? This place is probably the perfect spot! You get a full big house (4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms) with 2 terrasses perfect to eat, 1 to relax with the view of the valley and 1 beside the pool. Located at 5 minutes drive from Avo (small village with little grocery store) and 20 minutes drive from Oliveira de Hospital (small city with large groceries stores), the house is located 100m away from the small road and is overlooking the valley, giving you a great view and a total privacy. The climate was great. Hot during the day (25+) and fresh the evening (20-) with a lot of wind, allowing you to cool down the house. The pool is great and the openable sunroof is actually very useful to protect again wind and direct sun. The garden in multi-levels (typical to mountain) is beautiful with many flowers and offer many fruit trees (orange, plum,...) that you can consume. Inside, you will find everything you need. Not necessarily very modern, but still perfect. My only regret... no semi-automatic expresso machine (you still have a percolator, but I love good expresso). The rooms are all of good size (one is huge). Restroom with firewall (which we didn’t use) is great as well, and equipped with a large screen TV (which we didn’t use neither). Most visit we did were between 1h30 and 2h00 away by car (Gimaraes... is a MUST, Porto, Nazaré) Coimbra was closer. You still have to be ready for some driving if you want to visit. Road in Portugal are very good when you stay on main ones. You may be surprised if you follow your GPS across small village shortcut. It’s sometime freaking narrow (but avoidable). At the same time... I loved (my wife... less). What else... have some cream against mosquitos bite or something to put in the sleeping room. This was our main problem. No matter how you take caution to avoid mosquitos inside the house, they find their way to get in, despite the mosquitos shields at each windows. Their bites are not too bad (small), but the noise they make flying around your head prevent you to sleep (well, it did for me). So.. Recommended? ABSOLUTELY! PS: we were two family (4 adults and 3 teens of 13, 14 and 17).
