Paid €10 return for 3 hours Nov for a return trip with a knowledgeable driver Jonny. On the 30 minute drive from Hotel Velamar Olhos D'agua. Expected more stalls in one area. There are artisans , hand made doll, soaps, jewellery, cork bags, purses. Fruit veg and Dairy, cheese, fish indoor market and shops in the old town for souveirs. 7mins down the road in the opposite direction is the Gypsy market for clothes, t-towels 1for €1.50. More jewellry and a stand that makes fried pancakes- sorry I am sure there is a traditiinal name.
Old town has remains of a 17th Century Monastery complete with tools of the day. 2 churches and public toilets.

Mainly a farmers market with lots of stalls seeking fruit and vegetables. But we also picked up some bread, meat, and sine fantastic merengues from the indoor market. (The indoor market also had a wide range of fresh fish stalls). Outside, if you wander round the stats there are a number of stalls selling bags and home made crafts at reasonable prices. Thought the town/village was also quite nice with a number of nice coffee shops. Definitely one to visit on Saturday, especially of the weather is mixed or you are bored of the sea.

Nice market not as big as advertised though but stalls that were there were selling nice quality things at affordable prices. Great handbag stall at front selling brand new handbags for 5 euros that are good quality and stallholder friendly. It's not easy to find this market as it's a 15/20 mins walk from bus station and not signposted! It's out of town but head for the lovely domed church you will see in the distance and it's by there.

À faire si vous aimez les répliques et contrefaçons... Les vendeurs pour la plupart sont très insistants, et n'hésite pas à vous attrapez par le bras pour vous montrez des sacs "gucci"

Absolument à ne pas manquer ! Tout d'abord, il faut passer par le marché des ziganes où vous trouverez presque tout à moins cher, ensuite allez dans le centre ville, surtout dans la rue pittoresque où sont tendues des toiles colorées qui vous protègeont du soleil et enfin le marché des fruits que vous atteindrez jamais car l'ensemble n'est ouvert que de 9 à 13h. Le portugais est gentil mais il doit surtout se ménager...

Hier werden unter anderem Stoffe, Taschen, Uhren, Gürtel, Fliesen und Sachen aus Kork angeboten. Eine hohe Qualität darf man nicht erwarten. Handeln geht teilweise aber nach wenigen Ständen konnten wir das "good price" etc. Gebrüll nicht mehr hören.
Lieber den Mercado d Loulé in der Innenstadt besuchen! Dort hat man eine schöne Markthalle. Seriösere Verkäufer und es werden unter anderem frischer Fisch, Gewürze, Obst, Wein, Stoffe und Sachen aus Kork angeboten.

We were actually slightly underwhelmed at the number and variety of stalls at the market having been to Portuguese markets in previous years, however as always there were bargains to be had and some good bits to buy. If you are to visit one stall, find the man who sells carved coin necklaces, he's really friendly and interesting, plus sells probably the best things you can buy here.the attached pictures are of a carved Belgian Congo 1 Franc coin from 1944.

Good 'gypsy' market selling clothes, shoes,tablecloths etc. Bargain for stuff, particularly tablecloths, as bargaining is part of ritual retail experience here. Arrive early as it shuts around 1pm, there is parking nearby. Combine visiting jere with a visit to the covered market in town which has great food, especially fish.

If you enjoy haggling - this is a great place to visit. Start walking away after the initial haggle and sellers will follow/chase you to accept your 'insulting' offer. Great fun and walked away with a few bargains.

Whilst all are part of this historic town centre the markets really don't offer anything that cant be found on any other High Street in the algarve. We were given four hours to wander round and we covered it all in under two. At best the gypsy market was a car boot sale of low quality tat. Won't say don't go but left thinking our day could of been better spent elsewhere.

Der sogenannte Zigeunermarkt ist ein Mekka für den ein oder andere Schnäppchenjäger. Er befindet sich am Fuß der Santuario de Nuestra auf einem relativ großen Platz. Hier findet man neben Taschen, Klamotten und Gartensetzlingen allerhand Souvenirs. Und das war es dann auch schon.
Also nicht unbedingt ein muss für Reisende.

Not really worth a visit. Stands mostly sell Souvenir stuff, some also plants and fruit trees.
The sellers jelling "my friend", "cheap price" etc. annoyed me.
Full bus loads of tourists are dropped of here.
My advice: Go to the city market hall instead to see and try the real local products (veggies, fruits, fish but also homemade stuff like jam, honey, fig cake etc.).That Market is open Mon. to Sat. (best before 1pm) and on saturdays there is also a farmers market (fruits and veggies) outside!

Nice town with a great vibe from the Saturday morning markets. Alot of great coffee shops too which was nice to sit outside and have a slice of cake and a cuppa.
Do yourself a favour tho and take an Uber to the market and spend a day there in the town. The Tui tour is described as half day @29 euro which you only get 3 hours and your sort of just huddled out the bus and left to your own devices with not much information to go by. Uber is 20euro and your not packed into a bus like cattle with crazy Pedro behind the wheel.

Ähnelt den typischen African Market, die es so schon in fast jeder größeren Stadt in Strandnähe gibt.
Wir waren in 20 Minuten durch.
Wer eine günstige Applikation von Designerhandtaschen oder Ähnliches sucht, wird hier sicher fündig.

It was a good market plenty to see the whole town has a lot of character. Indoor market was nice v busy not good if you don't like standing behind people who don't know where they are going. The outdoor market was easier to walk around but had v v similar stuff. If you're after a leather handbag this place is a steal.

There are two markets, the gypsy market and the farmers market. Most maps claim that the farmers market is on the same site as the gypsy market. It is not. The Gypsy market is out of town and is a standard tourists gypsy market, no longer the market for locals. The farmers market is in the centre of town, in and around the fruit market. It is really lively and interesting and has lots of local produce for sale. We will definitely visit the farmers market again and again but will leave the gypsy market for the tourists.

The gypsy market at the edge of town isn't huge but there's plenty of stalls to browse around for an hour or two. Plenty of food and drink caravans too. Loule town centre and the historic centre are 10-15 mins walk away. The market itself has the usual mixture of clothes, shoes, bags, belts and handicrafts, all at cheap prices. The best stall by far though is 'The Coin Man' - an English ex-pat that makes jewellery from coins. Absolutely amazing work and attention to detail. By far the most interesting and unusual gifts that we bought there. Not to be missed!

Misschien lag het aan het seizoen, maar de markt viel een beetje tegen. Niet echt groot en (te) weinig authentieke goederen. Toch nog wel een riem en een houten doosje gescoord. Wij waren er begin maart. Centrum Loulé met de markthal was daarentegen een positieve verrassing.

Muss man gesehen haben. Phantastisches Angebot an Obst und Gemüse und Fisch. Überwiegend Einheimische Käufer. Also ein richtiger authentischer, südländischer Wochenmarkt.
Leider stimmt die Position in Maps nicht. Der Markt ist ringsum der Markthalle.
Parken in fußläufiger Entfernung gut möglich.

Grote Zigeuner markt in Loule. Altijd leuk voor koopjes. Druk, parkeren kan het beste bij de grote supermarkt.
