Santar Vila Jardim, a piece of unique history, and profound relaxation. Only one hour away from the city Porto lies the village Santar, with its gem Vila Jardim. Santar is home to only a 1000 people, you do not get more local than this. The villagers are friendly and the valley is beautiful. This place truly amazed me when I participated in the tour around the gardens. The village Santar is host to some artful masterpieces of houses each with their own style of gardens. The different gardens are all connected via pathways which guide you around all the colourful flora. The tour guide was friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the landscape. The gardens truly shine through its physical elements combining natural and manmade. At the end of the tour the vintner himself poured us one of his best wines to taste, this was absolutely the cherry on the cake. For anyone who is looking for undiscovered destinations, take your chance, I can highly recommend the place.

Traveling through North Portugal, we came across a small town of Santar. Santar is home to beautiful gardens, a historic villa and breath taking vineyards. It is truly a unique get away experience where one can come to see wonderful history and set their minds at ease. We received a guided tour of the vila, gardens and ended the day with a tasting of the locally produced wines. The host was very friendly and would recommend any garden, history and wine lovers to make the stop. It is definitely worth it!

While cruising through the country, we had to opportunity to visit Santar Vila Jardim, what a beautiful place. We got a tour through the gardens of the vila and through the surrounding wineyards, which was very impressive. The host was very friendly and welcoming, he was able to tell us everything about the history as well as the the current projects. I can definitely recommend this place!
