Tarihi Coimbra Üniversitenin 2013 yılında UNESCO Dünya Mirası Listesi'ne alınmış ve 2009 Yılında Avrupa Nostra Ödülü almış , eskiden bir saray olan ana binasıdır. İçeride dolaşırken orta çağ döneminde bir sarayda dolaşıyor gibisiniz. Siyah pelerinli öğrenciler, o koridorlar gerçekten çok ama çok havalı. Bahçeye bakan merdivenlerde fotoğraf çektirmeyi ihmal etmeyin.

Uma das mais míticas universidades do mundo, a Universidade de Coimbra foi fundada em 1290, sendo a primeira de Portugal e uma das primeiras do mundo. Anteriormente, o espaço foi o primeiro Palácio Real de Portugal. É peça fundamental na história da cultura científica europeia e mundial.

The tour 1 includes library, palace, church and science museum for the price of 12,5 euro for an adult. It is not expensive but the all three sites are overrated, basically it takes an hour to visit all three sites as they are relatively small. Library’s always crowded thus you may have to wait for admission that may occur in couple of hours from a moment you buy tickets. Additionally there may be a around 30 minutes line to the ticket desk but you can avoid it if go to the desk at the science museum. It is not allowed to take pictures in the most interesting halls of the library that is ridiculous. In general it is ok to see the university and museums.

예전에 왕궁이었던 곳을 대학교에서 산 곳이라고 한다. 그래서 그런지 학교같은 느낌은 없고 왕궁에 온 듯한 느낌이 강하다. 이곳 옥상에서 보는 코임브라가 아름답다

La «Vía Latina» es un corredor porticado que facilita el paso entre varias dependencias que rodean el «Patio das Escolas». Fue construido en 1773 y en su centro sobresale un cuerpo con tres arcos que sostienen un frontón con las armas de Portugal, coronándolo una figura que representa a la Sabiduría. Tras este cuerpo se encuentra el pórtico, obra de Claude de Laprade de los primeros años del XVIII, en el cual se instaló un busto de D. José I cuando se construyó la «Vía Latina» en 1773.

Para visitar el Museo de Ciencias Naturales, Torre, Palacio Real, Biblioteca y Capilla.....12 €. La Torre no se podía visitar porque hacia aire, en la capilla había misa y tampoco podias entrar. El Palacio Real .... no se el porque lo llaman asi cuando lo único que hay es el paraninfo y cuadros cuya calidad es infima ..... de Palacio nada y de Real menos. El Museo de Ciencia Naturales algunas cosas curiosas y antiguas, pero muchos aparatos averiados, entretenido para nada mas. La biblioteca pues tampoco algo novedoso, es el siglo XVIII, por lo que no es tan antigua, los libros no tienen ningun valor ya que son libros de consulta de los antiguos universitarios. Te prohiben las fotografias, no entiendo el porque ya que mas daño hacen las visitas masivas que recibe, entiendo que lo hacer por el tema economico y que el quiera un recuerdo tenga que comprar los catalogos que venden.. Intentan aprovechar y vendernos el tiron de la Realeza pero la verdad es que nada mas lejos de la realidad. La Capilla al final pudimos entrar al acabar la misa, muy decorada, multicolor, ...... pero vamos, como esa las he visto en muchos sitios y de mas valor cultural.
