Excellent family place to visit for 2-3 hours. The staff were amazing and very attentive throughout! The animals were largely roaming free and looked well cared for. There is a fun suspension bridge and waterfall, interesting 300+ year house & gardens! Our 4 year old son really enjoyed it. Well worth a visit.

Das Bauernhaus war sehr gut gemacht. Der Park an sich ist bis auf den Wasserfall eher Nebensache. Der Eintritt ist daher mit 12 Euro etwas viel.

Schönes kleines Museum und viele Möglichkeiten daneben im Park, mit der Familie oder Freunden den Tag zu verbringen. Am Wochenende sehr voll und ziemlich laut mit lokalen Besuchern, welche grillieren und feiern.

This is not what you expect in England etc as it ha a different viewpoint. There is an interesting house with an eclectic collection ton of items some of which are antiques. You can if you check the times be taken round by a very knowledgable guide. There is a cafe where you can get a mixture of pizza burgers etc or just enjoy a drink. Unfortunately they were out of sugar free drinks on our visit. The garden and terrace round the house are lovely and someone has labelled a lot of the flowers which was great for us as we had seen them but not known what they were called. It must have been a labour of love. I can understand why somebody was upset at the animals but you need to take this in context. I have seen a lot worse. We saw no animals in distress and ok some looked scruffy but they were mounting and it is not a petting zoo. We saw a donkey miniature ponies pigs chickens birds and Guinea pigs. The waterfall is worth the walk over the two very wobbly bridges and we climbed up to the observation tower for magnificent panoramic views. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful and informative especially Suzanne
So what do you need to consider. Firstly little point if you are not able to walk any distance or climb stairs
This is a work in progress so is worth supporting we intend to visit every time we come over to see how it is improving.
Plenty of parking
Small children will need to be overseen as there are wilder parts in the park.
Great venue for a celebration.
We took 3 hours to view but we do look closely at stuff and like to take a lot of photographs.

Leuk park, niet al te groot maar zeker waard om te bezoeken als je van een thema houd over vroeger. Het huis is prachtig ingericht.
Het park is leuk om door heen te wandelen en we hebben ons hier prima vermaakt.

Mooi aangelegd park met super vriendelijk personeel. Enkele kinderboerderij dieren. Fijne plek om "iets" te nuttigen zowel eten als drinken. Voldoende bankjes en veel picknicktafels. Prachtig ingericht huis met veel aandacht voor details. Wij hebben er een genoeglijk verblijf gehad. Het park is niet super groot en minder goed toegankelijk voor rolstoelen en mensen die slecht ter been zijn.

Um local agradável para passar um dia relaxante com a família no coração da natureza, proporcionando-lhe um dia preenchido com inúmeras coisas para ver, e fazer.
Andar numa ponte suspensa sobre uma cascata, é uma sensação maravilhosa, como também pode viajar no tempo visitando uma casa de habitação ancestral mobilada que remonta ao princípio do século XVIII, fazer um passeio pedestre para observar animais autóctones em extinção.
Ver os costumes e usos da Serra de Monchique inclusive profissões que muitas delas hoje estão em vias de extinção, nomeadamente o fabrico do pão e do mel e carvão vegetal.
Este local possui restaurante, e cafetaria, espaços para diversão infantil, piqueniques e eventos.

Second visit to the park. 20 minutes from the beach but it's like a different world in the mountains. So peaceful. The staff are all super friendly. It's great to see it grow from last year and look forward to another visit in the future.

Der Park ist mit sehr viel Liebe gestaltet. Eine richtige kleine Oase. Wenig Besucher, da etwas außerhalb. Immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Gerade mit kleinen Kinder.

A wonderful place we stumbled on our way back from Fóia.
The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating showing us around the old house, opening the mirror maze for us and generally making us feel welcome.
I’d definitely recommend a visit if you are over this way.

A quiet place, full of history. Dona Inacia with a lot of wisdom, professionalism and sympathy, is the one who makes the historical visits to the famous house of the 18th century. Nice place if you have kids in young age or if you want to prepare a special night with some friends. There you'll find an old house museum with interesting old stuff, a nice walk on the waterfall, a cool mirror maze, some animals, a bar and a few other amenities.

Wir haben uns ein Stelle mit schönem Wasserfall und kleinen Hängebrücken über Schleichwege angesehen. Was ansonsten alles "geboten" wird, können wir nicht wirklich beurteilen. Auffallend für uns war der sehr hohe Eintrittspreis von 12 €! ☹️
Das war letztendlich der Grund, ihn nicht zu besuchen. Es hielten zu der Zeit lediglich 3 Autos dort. Der Betrieb hält sich dann wohl auch in Grenzen!Ein Restaurant ist im Inneren des Parque da Mina.

Ponía abierto, entramos, y estuvímos mucho rato esperando en recepción y no nos atendió nadie, no habia nadie
Luego entramos y ya a la salida nos atendieron, y nos explicaron que solo eran dos y nos pidieron disculpas.
Nos gusto mucho y era muy bonito, si volvemos a Portugal de Vacaciones, casi seguro que volveremos...
Los muñecos en la esposición de la casa me dieron cada susto...
Un gran lugar.....Muy majos y amables........
Nos explicaron como se hacía un licor con una fruta comestible que había alli y nos invitaron a un poco, compramos unas gallinas que había alli, la chica era majísima y el trato exelente e inmejorable.
A, y entramos a un laberinto de espejos.

Super leuk! Toevallig tegenkomen onderweg. Het is een wat uitgebreide kinderboerderij wat zeker ook goed te doen is voor volwassenen. Personeel is super aardig. Het bedrag van €12,- p.p is een onderwerp om over te discussiëren, maar wij kregen de indruk dat deze bedragen wel goed in het park en de dieren worden geïnvesteerd. Het achterstallige waar vele mensen over hebben kan ik mij niet in vinden. Een super strakke "dierentuin" past dan ook zeker niet in deze fantastische mooie omgeving.
Geniet van de natuur en de beesten, dat is al meer dan genoeg!

A great day passed here. Very interesting park, stroller and with little kids possible to get around. Staff very sympathic that provided lots of explanations about the animals, the place.
Unexpected and was a very please T surprise a big inflatable and pool, where we relaxed after lunch (paste and spaghetti and more there).

Sehr sehr freundliche Mitarbeiterinnen. Der Park ist zwar schon etwas älter und hier und da etwas schief, dies tut dem Scharm des Ortes aber keinen Abbruch. Uns hat es gefallen!

Ganz trauriger Besuch... absolutes no Go und wirklich schade um 12,-€ Eintritt pro Person.
Der Eingang ist sehr schön gestaltet und das Personal sehr, sehr freundlich, ansonsten ist der Park nur enttäuschend gewesen. Das Museum ist ganz nett und auch informativ, jedoch auch sehr verlassen, ungepflegt und gruselig.
Die Tieranlagen sind einfach nur traurig und sämtliche Attraktionen wie die Mine oder die Landwirtschaftsmaschinen sind defekt, schmutzig und alles sieht aus, als wäre es seit 10 Jahren geschlossen. Nur der Papagei im Cafe und die nette Bedienung dort, die uns sogar einen kostenfreien, landestypischen Schnaps anbot, sorgten für ein kleines Bißchen Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Am Ende des auch sehr kleinen Parks steht ein Pool mit Wasserrutsche für Kinder, dieser rechtfertigt allerdings den völlig überteuerten Eintrittspreis auch nicht.
Leider nicht mehr als ein Stern wert, auch wenn mir dies für die 2 Mitarbeiter sehr leid tut, die waren wirklich sehr nett.

Really great place and €30 for a family of 4 is very reasonable. The estate is beautiful and the manor house is lovely well worth the stop my kids had a great time on the water slides

This is just the loveliest place. We hadn't planned on stopping here but passed it while driving and stopped for 'an hour'. We ended up staying all day. It was beautiful. So pretty, lovely animals, fantastic for kids. Staff friendly. Idyllic day out ❤

Not a bad little place but not like people might expect from England. The house was quite interesting but the little waterfall wasn't running. Piglets running around free was quite cute

Er valt zeer weinig te zien. Buiten wat dieren is er een mini-speeltuin en het huis waar je een blik krijgt op de geschiedenis. De toegang van € 30 voor 2 personen en 2 kinderen onder de 12 jaar is naar Portugese normen ferm overdreven.

Vale pela qualidade e 'carolice' de quem ali trabalha e se esforça para tentar mostrar ao público toda uma característica de vivência na mina quer dos seus proprietários quer dos mineiros e suas famílias. Expondo os trajes, utensílios de trabalho mineiro,alfaias agricolas, etc... da época que remonta a exploração dos minérios.

Als wir an einem Märztag den Park besuchten waren wir zunächst die einzigen Besucher. Wir würden sehr freundlich begrüßt und die Dame am Einlass begleitete uns und öffnete uns die einzelnen Einrichtungen. Im Herrenhaus konnten wir alles fotografieren. Es ist ganz toll mit Gegenständen aus vergangener Zeit eingerichtet. Sehr sehenswert und vor allem für jüngere Menschen absolut informativ. Wer von ihnen weiß schon, womit man Früher telefoniert hat, oder Schriftstücke vervielfältigt hat. Das sind nur zwei kleine Beispiele aus einer Fülle von Gegenständen. Eine kleine Pause bei einem Kaffee ist hier auch möglich. Der Pappagei im Imbiss kann sprechen und pfeifen. Für kleine Kinder gibt es einen Spielplatz und einige Haustiere zu sehen. Esel und Ponys können mit erworbenem Futter gefüttert werden. Ein Höhepunkt ist das Spiegelkabinett. Zum Abschluss ging es zum Wasserfall mit den zwei Hängebrücken. Wir hatten eine angenehme Zeit im Mine Park und können ihn aus unserer Sichtweise nur weiterempfehlen.

Замечательное место для посещения с детьми. На входе можно купить за евро покетик с кормом для животных и кормить козочек, ослика и пони. Никаких экзотических животных нету но парк красивый, очень ухоженный.

Ideal con niños pequeños, hay animales de granja, una ruta muy gentil con arboles altos y caminos sombreados, una casa museo con rutas guiadas, medianita pero abarotada de detalles, y parque con columpios tobogan donde poder hacer una merienda. Buena tarde a la sombra, relajandonos del sol del algarve.

Merece a visita. Tudo muito arranjado e os colaboradores foram todos muito atenciosos. Com mais algumas coisinhas e passa se la o dia inteiro. Gostamos! Não saiam sem visitar a casa dos espelhos e dar de comer as cabrinhas. ;)

Absolutely horrible place!
I recently visited Parque da Mina having seen their grand house and happy looking animals on a leaflet I picked up in my hotel.
I arrived to see that the animals were being kept in tiny dirt enclosures without any water, shelter or food! The temperature was approx 36 degree Celsius. Many of the animals were trapesing back and forth the fence of the enclosure- clearly agitated and stressed.
The birds at the Parque (Pigeons, Geese, Chickens) seemed to be panting ( clearly in need of shade and water) ! Lots of the animals were fighting each other and not one animal looked happy to be there.
The animals are only being used for tourist attraction ( and eggs in regard to the birds)!
I was crying having seen the suffering animals and the experience wrecked my holiday.
None of the animals had access to Food,Shelter or Water!
THE SUFFERING OF THESE ANIMALS NEEDS TO STOP.
My mother confronted one of the staff ( I couldn't I was still crying) and asked why the animals didn't have water and the staff answered that she couldn't speak English when she spoke perfect English when we paid to get in.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PARQUE DA MINA TO ANYONE AS THE ANIMALS ARE BEING GREATLY MISTREATED.
I HAVE GIVEN IT A RATING OF ONE STAR PURELY SO THAT I CAN POST MY REVIEW AS WITHOUT A STAR RATING I AM UNABLE TO DO SO.
