Small little science museum. Loved the special display at the time on spiders. Very lovely and friendly staff. Got to hold a Brazilian Black spider too! Brilliant experience.

É um local interessante para se ir com crianças. O meu filho achou engraçado ver como funciona o tornado e o remoinho de agua. Gostou de se pesar nos diferentes planetas. Eu gostei do facto de ser uma exposição interactiva onde se pode mexer para ver como funciona ou mesmo para sentir as texturas. É um local pequeno, com pouca coisa mas o que tem é bastante cativante. Tem um pequeno aquário com ouriços, estrelas e pepinos do mar em que um dos funcionários vem explicar algumas curiosidades sobre cada um deles e dão a oportunidade de ter cada um deles na palma da nossa mão. Eu gostei mas o meu filho de 5 anos não achou muita piada em mexer nos bichos. Foi uma boa experiência e recomendo a visita.

Para quem gosta de ciências é um bom lugar para levar as crianças! Porém tinha alguns experimentos avariados. Outro ponto negativo é o número de funcionários para orientação. Quando visitei, estava acontecendo a exposição de aranhas e escorpiões. Meus filhos adoraram (3 e 6 anos)

Extremen las medidas de seguridad con la exposición temporal de escorpiones y tarántulas!!! Por otro lado la exposición fija los niños la encontraron muy interesante. Es interactiva. Precio 2 adultos 2 niños y 1 bebé 20€.

Lovely place to spend a few hours. You will learn a lot bout the Ria Formosa and its fine species. You can also touch a few of the animals living in Ria. They have an aquarium where you can touch some of the animals of the Ria.

Petit musée, mais plein d activités. Bien que certaines machines ne fonctionnent pas, ce musée propose de courtes activités en autonomie qui permettent d aborder les principes de la science (En portugais ou en anglais). Le personnel est très sympa et a à coeur d expliquer (en anglais et même en français !). L'expo sur les araignées et les scorpions était très intéressante et notre guide a ajouté plein d anecdotes. Toutes les villes devraient posséder ce genre de musée pour les élèves et les adultes curieux !

The staff are brilliant. Very friendly, encouraging and patient, with the adults as well as the kids! A few of the exhibits and displays weren't working which was a shame, but we still spent an hour there.

Algarve Live Science center: merece la pena visitar este centro. Hay un "Toca toca marino" ideal niños y no tan niños. El resto del centro está muy bien. Recomendado.

Quite some things that are very old or not working and I think that might be because they don't have a lot of money. Still it's a wonderful place to visit, because the people working here are very knowledgeable about marine life and about arachnids and can tell you all kinds of interesting stuff. They are very friendly and helpfull. We spent about 2 hours there and it's a very entertaining way to kill the time while waiting for the ferry for example. They have a terrific set up for kids with sand and a projector that projects different hights of the sand in different colours. This entertains most kids for a long time.
I did feel a bit sorry for the animals in the 'sea petting zoo' as some visitors were being extremely rough on the crabs, seastars and other small cute marine life in there...

Exposição permanente sobre ciência e vida da Ria Formosa. Também havia uma exposição temporal sobre aranhas e escorpiões, muito interessante. Pessoal atencioso que nos guiou e explicou curiosidades.

Really liked it, perfect for groups or kids. There are always new shows and exhibitions. When I went there, there was a spider exhibit that was truly outstanding. Lots of species from all over the world and a nice lady explaining everything in English (but also in Portuguese and Spanish). There were scorpions too. Can't miss it if you visit Faro.

Buen lugar para conocer la flora y fauna marina de Faro, además de experimentar con otros fenómenos como las mareas, corrientes marinas, terremotos, etc. Muy divulgativo e interesante sobre todo para ir con niños. Entrada muy económica.

Unglaublich enttäuscht. Vieles kaputt oder in einem schlechten Zustand. Unglaublich klein und echt nicht interessant. Da kenne ich deutlich bessere Science Center. Überhaupt nicht zu empfehlen!

I enjoyed time here. Most of the things are focus mostly on children. However there are some interesting parts for adults as well. Aquarium part was the best.

This is a great small science museum that will primarily appeal young kids, but with enough novelty to interest adults. There is an interesting device that creates a live mini tornado from cold vapour - it's sensitive to how it is approached - too fast and your personal bow wave of air causes it to collapse. Bit like measuring an atomic particle - sometimes it's there then it's gone. There's a clockwork solar system that shows the relative speed of planets around the sun and a tide pool reconstruction mainly populated by spiny sea worms (?) - fun.

Idéal pour passer deux heures (voir plus) en famille quand il pleut. De nombreuses petites expériences à reproduire afin de mieux comprendre la nature. Un bassin intérieur est même aménagé afin de pouvoir toucher oursins, étoiles de mer, concombre de mer et cie.

Had a fantastic few hours here this morning. If you want to kill a couple of hours with the kids this is the place to go. All interactive. Maritime and space science museum. Very cheap at €4 adult and€2 for child. Educational, informative and fun. Staff are fantastic and multilingual. Well done.

As two adults visiting , we were really impressed by how interactive everything is and can imagine it being really educational for children. We loved the lady showing us the reservation research that the centre was doing and helping us with the touch tank. We got to touch a sea cucumber, starfish, hermit crab and it’s just really fascinating. We really enjoyed the experience there and wish them all the best with the research on seahorse preservation xx

A great couple of hours were spent here on a v wet and rainy day! The staff were keen to talk about exhibits and make sure everything was working. Lots of hands on activities for the kids. It is very small with only 2 rooms but most exhibits interested adults and children. They ranged from all sorts of science from a touch pool to touch animals in a rock pool, to showing how contours work, volcanoes, tornadoes and surface tension. Good value for money.

A fantastic gem of a resource, both for the young and young of heart which covers all the bases for those of a scientific leaning. Worth at least a two hrs interlude - in particular, the displays on vortices and staff were top notch.

Nice little science centre. Mainly oriented for children. But it's fun for adults too. Weve been in something similiar in Warsav. Compare to that one it was really small. But if you have kids it's nice place to visit

O espaço é giro, mas muitos dos equipamentos estão a precisar de manutenção. O staff que dá explicações sobre as experiências só apareceu quase uma hora depois de eu chegar. A exposição dos dinossauros é um roubo (€€€) para o que há.

A variety of interesting interactive exhibits which were great for keeping our 4yo and 6yo entertained for a couple of hours. Very reasonable entrance fee - €8 for the family, excluding the separate (temporary) dinosaur exhibition; though I'm not sure whether the setup/fee varies depending on their temporary exhibitions.

Great science centre in the harbour area. It focused on life sciences and is a great diversion for an hour with the family. Our kids loved it. Their favourite thing was the touch pool.

Me and my family had a very good time there. The spiders and scorpions are amazing to see (and even touch). Very friendly and knowledgeable personal describing everything concerning arachnoids. Recommended, especially but not only, when you are with kids.
