My boyfriend and I arrived at Keela beginning of February for the one month intership program. Our first impression of the place was absolutely positive, the farm and the activities organization went beyond our expectation. We learned a lot through Laurence and Kimberly about sustainable life-style, how to manage land applying permaculture principals or how to use efficiently the resources the farm will provide. Both Laurence and Kimberly are knowledgeable people, very passioned and motivated in their projects. Every day was exciting in different ways and a month went quickly, too quick that we decided to stay for another month. That was also the time when the lockdown happened in Portugal too, but despite the moment of crisis when no one of us where able to take a flight back to our countries, they welcomed us to stay at the farm until the situation got better. This might have been the best possible place we could have spent the quarantine time, working together in the garden, be connected with nature and taking care of animals daily, it was such a good feeling. We're really grateful for our experience, ended up to be 3 months in total at the farm, left with only good memories and new friends.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life. I feel so much more attached to myself and I credit it to the experience and community at keela. I will be back ❤ Facilities are beyond what I expected and the food is unreal.

Keela Yoga Farm really made memories that our family will never forget. There is nothing better than living completely disconnected from the rat race, off the grid and using nothing but the sun, the natural water and food grown on the land to sustain a healthy lifestyle. We wish we could have stayed longer. Next time I am going to get into the yoga more!

To be honest this trip felt like a dream. I stayed in a beautiful yurt And woke up every morning with such incredible views. The food was amazing and the evenings were a lot of fun. The most special part of this trip was the life long connections I made. Kimberly and Laurence I would now consider good friends. They are such warm lovely people. I also learnt a lot. This isn’t something I ever could have imagined enjoying, it was out of my usual comfort zone...but it exceeded all expectations and I will definitely be going back .

Oh my! What an incredible place. I’m so pleased to have had the opportunity to leave my hectic life for a few weeks to visit Keela. Kimberly and Lawrence were fantastic, so welcoming and made me feel part of the community straight away. I was pretty new to yoga, but the incredible yoga deck with breathtaking views and Kimberly’s kind, informative and knowledgeable approach I quickly became confident. I loved the amazing group of people I stayed with, and felt a great connection with them all. Now on lockdown in the UK I am keeping in touch by continuing my yoga classes with Kimberly via zoom. I left a little piece of my heart there, and I’m looking forward to returning ASAP. Thank you, and love to cats!

Make sure you reach a reimbursement agreement before paying anything to them. In our case, my husband had 3 strokes 10 days before our arrival date. We have had payed half the stay already and I asked to have it back since my husband was in a coma and I needed the money for health expenses. When they learned I was asking the money back they never answered the phone again. After insisting by email they said they wouldn’t give us back the money. That’s a place that use the community mentality as a marketing strategy, and was not able to act humanly towards a alone woman (myself) facing her partner possible death at the hospital.

I spent over 5 weeks at Keela Yoga farm and I absolutely love my stay there. Daily Yoga sessions, great fresh food from the gardens, beautiful location and just the best company around you! Not to mention the fact that you have all of this and you get to learn a lot from Kimberly, Laurence and Sayen about yoga, permaculture, self sufficiency, food forestry and reforestation. I am so excited to see how this place grows and look forward to visiting again. Keep up the great work guys!

I volunteered at Keela yoga farm in October 2019 for almost a month and I am so grateful to have found this place. It has been a wonderful month where I learnt so so much about permaculture in such a short time. It's because Laurence's passion for teaching and sharing information that I felt very involved in the garden and all what was happening at that moment. The yoga classes of Kimbery are super good. As a beginner I felt super safe in trying new stuff as she would always correct me and explain very clearly and in a nice way. The place is amazing beautiful, the lights, sunrises, sunsets, the yogadeck and the garden are stunning. And the food really tasty and healthy as a lot comes from the garden. I highly recommend the farm when you would like to practice and learn permaculture!! Also the courses are really of good quality.

I did hesitate longtime before sharing my experience about Keela Yoga Farm, because we'll all different, with different expectations and energies but i finally think this is what internet is for - to share. I simply wish no one has the same negative experience that i had. I volunteered to the farm as a cook. I love cooking, it s really what makes me happy . Combined to yoga it just looked like a dream. And it turned out to be the most unhuman experience i ve ever had volunteering. I have to mention i paid a rent for a caravan there, despite my long hours spent in the kitchen. If i wanted something for free then it would have been a shared tent for a month long stay. We normally had to be 3 in the kitchen but pretty fast, the 2nd volunteer left, in tears, because of the bad communication with the Lady owner of the place. So then we were only 2 of us, cooking for 13 people. But sometimes, hangover mornings or bad mood swings of this same Lady owner left me alone in the kitchen. I really did try my best. I m a positive person and a yogi, so i did use lots of my patience and softness to go with the flow but it just didn't work out with the Lady owner. She constantly made me feel that i owned her something...even though i was working for free for 13 people for almost a month . I felt unwelcomed and the lady was sometimes pretty rude because of the constant mood swings she had. Some other volunteers did share the same experience and came several times to the kitchen, crying, cause they felt unwelcomed by the Lady too. But i do must say some others were happy to be there too, working on the land of farm, on their own or with the husband (who seemed much softer) . It ended up as rude as it all was - i was asked to leave promptly after i finished preparing lunch, as soon as i started to try to talk out with her a little. They did not leave me time to find another place to stay in for the night. Looking back at it all, i definetly don't recommend volunteering there, especially with the lady. it was rude. I prefer giving my time to a better cause, definetly. Most of the outside workers seemed happy though. And the nature around is pure lush.

This a new start up business by two experienced yoga teachers. Volunteers welcomed to learn how to live off the land and work on various projects. The freshly cooked food provided is vegetarian and both tasty and nutritious. Check out the web page for more information.
