Lovely small hotel of 18 rooms. Very nicely remodeled maintaining the older, 19th-century elements while at the same time bringing it fully up to modern standards. Helpful staff and a nice selection of wines by smaller producers in the Douro to have by the glass in the hotel. Small but tasty breakfast options. The scones, when available, are tremendous. Jams and other elements are all locally made. Only question remaining is how this is a two-star hotel when there's a four-star one nearby that isn't nearly as charming.

the hotel was a modern with an old world touch in. A great area for walking and greeting down to the river. Most impressive was the gal at the front desk who was warn, friendly and exceptionally helpful. We would absolutely stay here again.

Interesting old building but with all modern facilities. All the staff spoke very good English and were keen to help. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. The breakfast was not the best we had had in Portugal, but then the standard had been high anyway.As for the title, we had a room at the back and could almost shake hands with the engine drivers as they went past! The sound of the trains didnt disturb us, but if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the front.

A well-located antique building revamped with such great charm. Very comfortable almost homey due to the well-considered rustic design, (in public spaces as well as in the rooms. ) A new venture therefore everything is fresh, crisp & super clean. Special,quaint, small hotel.

Foi no final de Dezembro que fiquei hospedado em família - somos 2 adultos e 3 crianças - numa suite do Original Douro Hotel e saímos de lá muito felizes! A fachada do hotel é linda, cuidada e muito à imagem de hotéis urbanos de 4/5 estrelas que costumamos ver no Porto e Lisboa. Por dentro, vê-se que foi feito um excelente trabalho de remodelação com uma especial preocupação em unir o passado, a história daquele local com o moderno de hoje em dia. O espaço é acolhedor, muito familiar e tem muita luz. O quarto, desculpem, a suite, deve ter sido muito provavelmente a maior que já estive em hotéis em família! Estamos a falar de um espaço grande, com uma disposição original, que particularmente gostei, onde os miúdos podiam estar mesmo à vontade. Apesar da cama extra que nos colocaram os 3 pequenos optaram por dormir todos juntos no sofá cama confortável com direito a LCD. Tiveram direito a livros e a um peluche grande! Qual é o hotel de 2 estrelas que faz isto? Muitas vezes nem um de 3 ou de 4 fazem isso... De louvar! A casa de banho também é grande e tudo está decorado com bom gosto. Mas porque sou um bocado perfeccionista penso que poderia haver uma ou outra coisa que podiam aperfeiçoar muito mais. De uma forma geral, fazia falta um porta malas grande, uma cómoda, para podermos colocar a roupa, um LCD em frente à cama de casal e quanto à casa de banho, a cabine do chuveiro - excelente chuveiro de tecto e de pressão - poderia ser maior, ter lavatórios maiores e ter uma mesa de apoio para colocarmos todas as coisas que temos. Mas são pormenores. O pequeno almoço ainda que relativamente pequeno tem tudo o que faz falta, nunca esquecendo os bolos caseiros, os sumos originais caseiros e com pão quente que dá vontade de comer mais. Muitíssimo bom! E quanto aos mais cépticos, nunca se esqueçam disto: estamos a falar de um hotel de 2 estrelas! Não criem expectativas que vão para um hotel de 3, 4 ou 5 estrelas, mas acreditem que vão ficar surpreendidos se tivermos em conta que tem apenas duas estrelas... E quanto à localização não nos podemos queixar porque encontra-se na rua mais comercial, paralela à pequena marginal.

Reserva de última hora para dormida na passagem do ano, alojamento reservado via directa com a expedita e simpatica Alice. Cicerone do espaço cuidado e decorado com imenso bom gosto, obra pensada e executada ao longo de anos, com esforco e muita dedicacao familiar. Foi sem duvida uma entrada de ano surpreendente, ao sabor de champagnhe e bolo rei, numa tertulia sem formalismos, tao ao jeito destas gentes do Douro. Fomos recebidas com carinho e atencao, como percebemos, qualquer hóspede que cá fica assim tem. No salão á entrada, servidas com uma requintada e generosa tábua de queijos e bom vinho da região. Sentimos calma e amor, entre livros e letras, conforto de um sofa e decoração que alimenta a alma mais hedonista. Já recomendei e com certeza, vamos voltar.

Um espaço super encantador a roçar a total perfeição. Desde a recuperação do velho edifício, o cuidado na manutenção de grande parte do traçado original, a exposição de peças antigas ligadas ao edifício, a decoração minimalista mas de extremo bom gosto de todas as zonas incluindo os quartos, sem esquecer o elevado grau de profissionalismo e extrema amabilidade de todos os que ali trabalham. Um exemplo a seguir por muitos outros espaços hoteleiros.

Espaço formidável. Recuperação perfeita de um espaço votado quase ao abandono. O conforto na simplicidade caracteriza todo o hotel. De longe melhor que muitos quatro estrelas. Não se pode deixar de salientar a extrema amabilidade e simpatia de todos os que ali trabalham. Nada de negativo a assinalar.

Espaço de estadia no epicentro mais urbano do Douro, extremamente acolhedor e com uma simpatia de tratamento pouco vulgar. Uma excelente obra de recuperação de um edifício antigo, sem o desvirtuar do seu carácter, nem iludir de uma intervenção moderna e contemporânea.

Accoglienza ottima alla reception con Spiegazione dell'hotel e delle principali attrazioni e ristoranti dei dintorni. L'hotel è stato creato da una ristrutturazione di un edificio storico 5 anni fa. Mantiene tutto il recuperabile nello stile originale, si può apprezzare di come tutto sia stato conservato e finemente restaurato fin nei minimi dettagli. Camera molto confortevole. Materassi ottimi e buona pulizia.

A stunning hotel. Rebuilt by the family with not a single detail over-looked. They honoured the heritage of the building throughout and added beautiful and functional modern touches. Great Portuguese taste and quality in every style choice. Highly recommend. Grat value too!!

What a wonderful hotel! Amazing renovation work to transform a local treasure into a very (very) comfortable hotel. By far the best accomodation experience in Portugal, and a very reasonable price. Bed (and linen) gorgeous. Alice and all the staff go out of their way to be helpful, making suggestions, following up on queries. All up very highly recommended.

近隣の2つ星ホテルの倍額、ほぼ1万円という宿代なのに、部屋は激狭でスーツケースを広げるのも厳しい。日本の安いビジネスホテルと同じ狭さ。 チェックインが16時からというのも高飛車だ。 アメニティはシャワーキャップだけで、隣が線路なのでうるさいし、部屋に蟻除け剤が置いてあるのに、ベッドの上を蟻が徘徊。 朝食の低品質さは、フレッシュオレンジジュースを水で薄めてあったことからも明白。 なぜこんな高価格低水準のホテルが評価されているのか理解できない。絶対にお勧めできないホテルだ。 ちなみに、翌日ここより安く泊まったPousada de Viseuと比較したら、部屋も朝食も天と地の差だった。

Beautifully refurbished hotel, it was the first hotel in regua, hence the name. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lobby is a mix of living room exhibition space and bar/ restaurants. A lot of features of the ordinal structures have been retained which give it a nice flair. The double room simple yet elegant. The breakfast was healthy but could have been a little bit more extensive, however the price is reasonable.

Very clean hotel, located just 5 mins walk from Regua station. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.

This is charming hotel in the center of town. It has been recently renovated and the rooms are spotless. They arranged a wine tour for us that was excellent. The variety of food at breakfast and the friendly staff added to our enjoyable stay.

l`hôtel est un bijou par son style . très bien située pour visiter la vallee du Douro ainsi que Braga . Peso de Regua est toutefois TRÈS tranquille le soir . Pas d`endroit ou il y a de l`activite .

ODH was a terrific find! Beautifully renovated historic building that just opened May 2018. Spacious, clean, bright rooms – and tons of historic charm and character throughout the building. We had a room facing the train tracks, but the double pane windows kept things quiet. Wonderful outdoor patio in the back, which was great for sharing a late-night bottle of wine as the town itself is somewhat sleepy. Great drinks at the bar, but also great wine selection in the “lobby store” for reasonable prices. Staff were super friendly and very helpful with recommendations. Very tasty complimentary breakfast spread in the morning. Was a great jumping off point for touring the Douro via car. On-street parking was amply available (and free overnight). There was also a large free lot nearby. We would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful, charming stay in Douro.

Hotel excelente . Quarto extremamente limpo, cheiroso e espaçoso. Camas mto confortáveis. O banheiro é tão lindo que dá pena de usar (rs.). Localização excelente no centro de Régua e numa rua fácil de conseguir vaga pra estacionar. Tivemos um pequeno desencontro quanto a reserva, mas os funcionários de recepção logo resolveram com a maior prestatividade possível . Recomendo 100% a estadia no Original Douro.

Hotel muito bem conseguido, tanto ao nível do conceito, como da arquitetura. A Alice era muito disponível e prestável e o seu amor pelo projeto transparecia. Não é preciso muito luxo para elevar um hotel. O segredo está nas pequenas coisas, tais como no atendimento e na divulgação de produtos locais. Iremos voltar.

MUST STAY !! Even though me n my husband stay at their other property (Airbnb) apartment but the owner Alice is so kind, nice and friendly. Very welcoming. She show us also few rooms at this hotel original Douro hotel , the first hotel here in Regua . The design is amazing, the room is chic and beautiful. I love 206 room . Price was super decent. For what u get. Most importantly the service !! Hands down!! My favourite place to stay in Douro so far. Definitely highly recommend and we will be back here again !!

Fantastic accommodation with lovely home made breakfast. We stayed in room 209 that heard some foot traffic as people walked past but nothing too major. Small, cute room lovingly designed. Definitely recommend this place.

The hotel is an architectural gem. The integration of the contemporary with the heritage components is tasteful and adds a great deal of warmth to the space. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff was amazing! They made multiple recommendations for food and drink in the area, all of which were fantastic. We would definitely recommend the Original Douro Hotel to other travellers.

The Douro Hotel was much more than I expected! It is an absolutely beautifully restored hotel that holds an abundance of history. The stand out is the staff! They are very friendly and helpful. My husband and I met the front desk staff, Ze and Alice. Ze always greeted us and offered to give us restaurant recommendations and one morning, Alice noticed that I was on the phone with our rental car company to confirm some details. She offered to help translate and get everything squared away for us! She was so helpful and gave us recommendations on where to go and what to see. The hotel breakfast is definitely a plus! Very nicely displayed with a variety of fruit, meats, cheeses, bread and pastries. Just the light start I needed to get my day started. They also have a cozy terrace out back to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is also in a great location. The room we stayed in was very nice and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the was nice. A very lovely and comfortable stay in a very convenient location. I loved the attention to detail and the intimate setting. Thank you, Ze and Alice for making our stay extra special.

This hotel is in an historic building that has been tastefully remodeled. The rooms were modern and the lobby area was beautifully restored. Breakfast was excellent with good selections. Check in was easy and the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Super schönes Hotel!!! Waren leider nur eine Nacht da, wären aber gerne länger geblieben! Das Hotel wurde scheinbar vor kurzer Zeit komplett renoviert und ist wunderschön. An der Bar gab es tagsüber Früchte und Wasser umsonst.
