O Raiz é um espaço muito bem decorado com um ambiente bastante aconchegante e apaixonante. Todo o Staff é fantástico, pessoas muito profissionais e simpáticas. Todo o cardápio é delicioso, desde as entradas às sobremesas. Tudo é divinal, a fusão de sabores utilizados em cada prato, faz com que queiramos experimentar sempre outros que existam na carta. Aconselho vivamente a experimentar e a repetir. preço/qualidade muito bom. ️

Busque un restaurante para sorprender a mi marido, una cena romántica y sin duda acertamos. Un restaurante que desde su entrada te sorprende por su iluminación, el trato espectacular muy cercano donde todo el mundo está encantando, son 4 plantas de restaurante donde prima la intimidad en cada una de sus salas. Reserve un mesa tranquila y aunque al principio hubo un contratiempo fueron tan amables que en un momento estaba solucionado. Nuestro camarero fue Miguel, un chico majisimo donde nos recomendó unos platos increíbles. Sin duda repetiremos. Nos fuimos encantados. Muchas gracias . La ubicación está fenomenal al lado del final de la avenida de los aliados, en una pequeña plaza a la izquierda. Sin duda una experiencia, la calidez del ambiente sin lámparas solo con velas hace de una velada perfecta

This was the best meal we had in Porto. The food was gorgeous, the vinho verde crisp and beguzzlable. The bread porridge (açorda) was one of the best things we’ve eaten, and Miguel, our waiter, taught us how to make it. He made our meal completely brilliant. So: food + wine + service ✅✅✅

After having had a quite stressful experience to get into nearby, highly rated, restaurants for dinner we went looking for somewhere that looked chilled. That's precisely what we got in Raiz. Our fabulous cheese/charcuterie platter for two in this fairly simple and peaceful restaurant included elements neither of us had ever tasted previously, it was quite perfect. Service was efficient and friendly without being intrusive. We enjoyed it so much we had an unplanned port tasting which really enhanced our experience. We highly recommend this excellent family run bar/restaurant.

Restaurante al que llegamos por casualidad por una recomendación. Carta con platos interesantes y muy buenos de sabores. El postre también buenísimo. El personal muy amable y atento, nos recomendaron en los diferentes platos que tienen. Id si pasáis unos días en oporto.

Comida muito boa, mas falta algo. Em relação de preço não corresponde com nada do que se come nem do que se vê no estabelecimento. Preço muito elevado para o que é... Cria impressão que o restaurante especializado para captar turistas. Deveriam pensar em pelo menos melhorar a estética do hambiente para esta condizer com o preço que se cobra.

Yes I know, I seem to give out 4/5 stars to just about anyone. (for the ones I don’t like I just don’t post about them): This place was awesome, we ordered 3 appetizers a one main and we shared. It was so good! Our server was awesome and guided us to amazing selections. We ordered the octopus ceviche, the scallop augratin, the goat cheese with port wine reduction. For our main we had the pork kebab. All I can say is I had to unbutton my pants on the way home. I would definitely go back.

So amazing!!! They got us in last minute without a reservation. Our server was super funny and on top of his game. The Octopus ceviche was the best Octopus I’ve ever had. The scallop augratin was INSANE!!! Highly recommend

This is a fantastic spot. Three or four floors of dining but the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the Portuguese cuisine is delicious. We brought a large party including several toddlers and they accommodated us very well. They weren't put off by the chaos that our children created and we appreciated the hospitality.

Nach kurzer Wartezeit vom freundlichen Personal einen schönen Tisch bekommen. Brot mit sehr guter Olivenpasta, Kalbsfleisch und Lammrücken vorzüglich und auch die Beilagen waren sehr gut. Als Nachtisch Schokoladenkuchen (sehr gut... aber sehr große Portion) und das rote Früchtetiramisu, welches jedoch nichts besonderes war). Sehr zum empfehlen insgesamt!

동양인 여자 혼자 들어갔을 때 이렇게 좋은 서비스를 제공해주다니.. 이런 기본 서비스가 당연(?)한거지만 유럽에서 절대 겪어보지 못했거든요. 눈 마주쳐도 무시한다든가 순서대로 안 주고 자기 멋대로 하거나 인종차별적 말을 내뱉거나 한 경우가 대부분이었는데, 어쩌다 우연히 간 식당이 인생 식당이 되었습니다. 혼자 갔는데도 바로 자리 안내해주고 메뉴 설명 해주고 음식 괜찮냐 물어봐주고 음식도 정말 맛있어요. 문어 요리에 갖가지 채소, 감자가 함께 나오고 상그리아도 짱입니다! 혼자 30유로 썼는데 전혀 아깝지 않아요! 내일도 갈 것 같아요.

Pela primeira vez no restaurante Raiz. Que surpresa, não estávamos a espera de tão boa comida e staff tão simpático. Pedimos o brie panado e a alheira de entradas, para prato principal pedimos o bacalhau com broa e mel, que delícia. Por fim a sobremesa o bolo de chocolate na caçarola com espuma de caramelo. Estava tudo extraordinário, muitos parabéns pelo conceito e pela criatividade nos pratos.

My husband and I walked into Raiz on Valentine's Day without a reservation. They were very accommodating and nice and gave my husband a flower to give me. They also presented us with a folded and wax sealed paper that contained an excerpt from Romeo and Juliet. They truly went all out to make it romantic. The restaurant is cozy and inviting with multiple floors. We were sat on the 2nd floor by the window and the waitress spoke to us in English and the next table in French. (She is a law student and speaks 5 languages!) She helped us select our appetizers and dinners and even cautioned that it might be too much food (so we reduced by 1). Everything was truly delicious and unusual. My husband tried the salt cod with honey and it was a beautiful, copious and delightful plate. I tried the lamb which although not traditional Portuguese (per our waitress) was the best I've had. The chocolate desert with caramel foam was an amazing ending. The gentleman who brought the food was also very genuinely nice and warm. Overall a wonderful experience at a very reasonable price. Worth every penny!

La cena fue estupenda! De principio a fin, los sabores están logrados y tienen una carta diferente. El lugar es mágico y me resultó romántico e íntimo. El conjunto hace que te vayas con muy buen sabor de boca. Nuestro camarero nos explicó la historia del lugar y nos ayudó pacientemente con la traducción de los platos. Lo recomiendo 100%( No recordamos su nombre pero llevaba una pequeña coleta y hablaba español bastante bien!!!)

This is a very cool and quirky looking restaurant and the menu sounds lovely. The food is tasty and inventive. It is slightly overpriced though, considering I did not really feel like there was something so special about it that would justify the prices. The staff is nice and very welcoming. Looks like a good spot for smaller gatherings. I would advise you to take a table upstairs.

Turns out to be exactly what it looks like: cosy, quiet and good
We happened to pass by and liked the image of the 2 small candle lit tables placed in the side Windows next to the entrance, and the soft lights of the inside. The menu looked fairly straight forward with slight twist on each item. That is exactly what we got, cosy ambience, good quiet and efficient service, lovely food , well presented and especiallynhealthy as the veal and the black pork we ordered are from free range animals. Certainly a place to recommend

Amazing experience! Beautiful and cosy restaurant divided over three floors in a historic building. The service was very attentive and friendly and in for some jokes, providing a comfortable atmosphere. The food was great! Not the cheapest restaurant in porto but value for money was great!

Un angolo di bontà al centro di Porto. Il locale è molto suggestivo e siamo stati accolti molto bene (i camerieri sono molto premurosi). Abbiamo ordinato due antipasti: insalata di polpo e una bruschetta con prosciutto crudo affumicato e cipolla caramellata; in seguito abbiamo ordinato uno spiedino di maiale nero accompagnato da un timballo di patate e verdure. Prodotti freschi e genuini oltre ad essere gustosissimi. Rapporto qualità/prezzo molto buono considerata la qualità delle portate e le bevande (acqua naturale). Meno di 40 €. Consigliatissimo!

Cibo buono, i tempi di attesa sono un po' lunghi,ma ne vale la pena.
Non aspettatevi porzioni abbondanti e prezzi super economici, ma il tutto è assolutamente apprezzabile.

I want to thank you all for making my birthday amazing tonight. Actually raiz wasn't our first choice.The lovely lady at "tapabento" recommended raiz, called the restaurant and booked a table for us, because she didn't had any place for us at tapabento and wanted us to celebrate my birthday with good food.
I had the best night, with lots of delicious food, in a place so welcoming and warm. You guys really know what you are doing and the service was outstanding.
We will definitely come back when we are in Porto again and I will recommend your restaurant to everyone who wants to know and even those who doesn't want to hear it.

Everything was very good. The environment and staff was all good. The food is very good as well. Start with a fried cod and baked bread with sausages and fried eggs. For the main course, I got the oven grill octopus. The texture and taste is very good. Might be a bit too greasy/oily for someone. But overall 4.5.

Mit 17 Personen haben wir hier kurzfristig einen Platz bekommen. Es ist mir selten so leicht gefallen 5 Sterne zu vergeben. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Service Personal, tolle frische Zutaten, dezent und stilvoll eingerichtetes Lokal und geschmacklich sehr sehr gut. Von Tapas und Snacks bis zu Hauptgerichten lässt die überschaubare Speisekarte keine Wünsche offen. Was ein toller Abend und ich würde hier jederzeit wieder hin gehen.

Вчера вечером пришли вдвоём поужинать. Повелись на рекомендацию. Были свободные сервированные столики как на первом, так и еа втором этаже. Но нам сказали подождать, так как не хотят открывать зону на втором этаже только из-за нас, а на первом этаже могут прийти пожилые люди. Мы ждали сначала как нас попросили. Потом ещё... Но никто из персонала так и не подошёл. Если не хотите испортить впечатление о городе Порто, то поищите другой ресторан. Поблизости есть много хороших ресторанов, где рады гостям

Пришли в этот ресторан на ужин вдвоём. Был свободен один стол на 4 человека, но нам сказали, что не могут нам его предоставить и попросили подняться на второй этаж. На втором этаже сказали посидеть подождать не смотря на то, что на втором этаже все столы были свободны и засервированы, нам сказали, что не хотят только для нас открывать эту зону. Через несколько минут мы снова обратились к сотрудникам, но нам сказали ждать ещё. Мы подождали несколько минут но к нам никто не подошёл и мы ушли. Возможно в ресторане хорошо готовят, но такое отношение сильно испортило впечатление. Если не хотите столкнуться с такими проблемами, то поищите другой ресторан, где вам будут рады.

Returned here after an amazing food experience two years ago and it did not disappoint this time round. Advisable to book in advance however they did seem to take a couple of walk ins during the time we were there. Reasonably priced food and wine and with the quality of both excellent. I would recommend the Octopus Ceviche and Scallop Gratin tapas style dishes or if one main plate is enough you can't go wrong with the salt baked cod. If you can squeeze in desert we ordered one of everything and couldn't pick a favourite so definitely a must if you have a room.

Incroyable! De l'extérieur on n'y voit pas la beauté qu'il existe à l'intérieur avec de toutes petites salles sur 3 étages. La nourriture est très goûteuse et très bien servie. Serveurs/se au petits soins et très attentionné(e)s. Vraiment le restaurant a Porto!

Buen restaurante en la zona baja de Aliados. Algunas cosas que me sorprendieron como que en el servicio de pan y AOVE, habitual en los restaurantes de Oporto, al aceite le añaden unas gotas de balsámico... (Me parece un error, si sirves un buen AOVE no le añadas un vinagre balsámico, aunque sea de buena calidad) y otra cosa que he observado en ésta fria y húmeda semana en Oporto... Muchos restaurantes no disponen de aire acondicionado o de bomba de calor y en varios hemos pasado frío! Lo cual no es nada agradable.
Dicho esto, los entrantes, correctos. Un "ceviche" de pulpo y lo pongo entre comillas porque no era un ceviche ortodoxo pero estaba bueno y un medallón de queso de cabra caramelizado y acompañado de ensalada. El medallón, demasiado grueso y caramelizado hacía mucho tiempo... Frío y con el queso también muy frío... Era difícil incluso partirlo, por el grosor del queso y la consistencia del caramelizado...
Definitivamente, no es la mejor opción de los entrantes.
Como plato principal pedimos dos versiones de bacallao... con pan de maíz y miel y otra con un rebozo y gratinado. Raciones muy abundantes, bien presentadas (con la misma guarnición las dos, no se complican la vida) y que estaban francamente buenas. Para beber, una botella de blanco seco de Douro, Odisseia. Correcto. Todo por 67€

What a beautiful night! From start to finish, our meal at Raiz was top quality. This cozy and romantic restaurant was the perfect spot to have dinner for two on our trip! The octopus ceviche was the best I have had, extremely fresh. The octopus salad was also lovely. We also split the fried cod entree which was delicious and a very large portion for the price! We finished the night of with the red sangria which was filled with fresh fruit and warm winter spices. The meal was extremely reasonably priced for the quality of food. Our service was also exceptional. Don’t miss this gem in Porto!

들어가서 한명이라 했는데도 반겨주시면서 바로 자리 안내를 해주셨고, 서비스도 굉장히 맘에 들었습니다.

Perfecta atención en un restaurante que se extiende por las cuatro plantas de un edificio antiguo, con los comedores algo oscuros para mi gusto. En cuanto a la comida, salí contento sin presumir. La mousse de queso, aunque bien conseguida, demasiado dulce para mi gusto. Del jamón cortado a sierra mejor no hablo. El pulpo con verduras estaba bien. 첫 날에 갔을때는 혼자라서 먹을수 없다고 했고
두번째 날에 갔을 때는 두명인데 자리가 없다(예약된 자리)라며 받아주지 않았다. 다시 들어가서 예약된거 맞냐고 빈자리에 왜 못앉는지 물어봤을때 재료소진이라며 말을 바꿨다. 12시까지 영업하는 식당이 9시에 재료소진이라고?
포르투 현지인 한테 물어봤는데 혼자라서 안받아주는 식당은 없다고 혼자라고 말하고 들어가서 먹으면 된다고 걱정말라고 했는데, 매우 실망했다.
(심지어 홈페이지 예약사이트에는 1명도 예약할 수 있게 되어있다. 첫날에 혼자라서 안된다는 말은 무슨 말인지 아직도 이해할 수 없다)
영업종료는 밤 12시고 찾아간 시간은 밤 9시,9시반.
손님을 입맛대로 받는 식당이라고 느꼈다.

Restaurante de comida requintada, mas sem exageros. O cardápio não oferece infinitos pratos, porém o suficiente. Inclusive para os vegetarianos. Aliás, o hambúrguer vegetariano com cebolas caramelizadas vai entrar para a nossa história! Foi o melhor já experimentado até hoje!
Não indicado para pessoas com handicap, devido às numerosas escadarias. A não ser que se faça a reserva da mesa para o térreo.

Fuimos por recomendación y estamos muy contentos. El pulpo muy recomendable. No tiene una carta enorme, pero tampoco le hace falta ya que es variado. Tiene 3 plantas y en las plantas de arriba es mas agradable. De noche, al lado de la ventana, con unas velas y la vista con la torre de los clérigos al fondo, da un plus importante a la cena. Lo recomiendo.

Lindo restaurante, conta com 4 andares, vista linda da praça. Muito aconchegante e romântico (luz de velas). O atendimento é excelente e o Miguel, que nos atendeu, explicava os pratos e os correlacionava com a história de Porto e Portugal. Muito interessante e autentico o restaurante neste ponto. Assim como todos portuense valoriza suas tradições. Pedimos alheiras (vem com ovo de codorna em cima), é sensacional o a explosão de sabores. Depois, Tiborna de Salmão com temperos mais suaves que a alheira e como principal Bacalhau com crosta de broa e mel (espetacular). De sobremesa um pudim de batata-doce com laranja em calda, uma combinação perfeita do cítrico da laranja com o doce da batata, bom demais. Recomendadíssimo!!!

Nosso último jantar em Porto foi no Restaurante Raiz. O restaurante é lindo e conta com 4 andares. Mto aconchegante e romântico à luz de velas. O atendimento é excelente e o Miguel, que nos atendeu, ao explicar os pratos correlacionava com a história de Porto e Portugal. Aliás, eles valorizam suas tradições e recriaram pratos utilizando ingredientes da culinária portuguesa, além de trazerem de volta pratos que haviam sido esquecidos. Pedimos alheiras (vem com ovo de codorna em cima que é a coisa mais linda), é uma explosão de sabores. Uau que combinação o cítrico da laranja com o doce da batata, bom demais!

Gostei bastante deste restaurante de pequenas salas. Situado num prédio antigo e estreito do porto, o restaurante cresce em altura e tem 3 pisos de pequenas salas com 6 a 7 mesas cada.
Ficamos no segundo piso. A sala em si não tem nada de especial, mas o ambiente é calma, com luz ambiente agradável.
Mas o que gostamos mais foi a comida. As entradas eram ótimas com destaque para a alheira e para o hamburger. O prato de bacalhau estava tb muito bom. Bem confecionado e com a posta muito alta e branca.
O vinho da casa é bastante bom.
A sobremesa, tiramisu, estava ok.
O preço final foi adequado. Cerca de 25 euros por pessoa.

The restaurant is so romantic, the meals are delicious - I had a perfectly cooked veal for main - 10/10 recommend. The waiting staff is super friendly - we even got an extra glass of wine on the house :)

We came here for our last night in Porto and it didn't disappoint! We sat at a cute little table in by the front window and enjoyed watching the world go by while enjoying a delicious dinner. Servings are big and the service was lovely and friendly!

Amazing place. Gorgeous views from the upper floors - ask to sit near the window if possible! We showed up around 8:30pm on a Tuesday evening and had no problem getting in. Definitely the "scallop at gratin" and "barrosa meat burger" appetizers - they were particularly amazing! The Brie appetizer was okay, but combined with the scallop filler and bread from the burger was absolutely fabulous. The sangria was good, too. Overall fantastic experience!

Preço demasiado alto para a comida servida, 20€ para comer pataniscas de bacalhau, um pires de arroz de tomate para 4 pessoas, rojões que estavam impossíveis de comer e até a água que além de ser engarrafada numa garrafa própria, era "racionada"!
Na sala do 3 andar os cafés chegam frios!
Achei-me ligeiramente roubado para o que serviram, tanto em qualidade como quantidade.

Muy muy recomendable, los platos q comimos estaban buenisimos,con una presentacion muy cuidada , un camarero super atento y agradable. La cena esta iluminada solo a la luz de las velas lo q le da un toque super romantico a la noche.
El unico pero es la accesibilidad, ya q son varios comedores cada uno en una planta de una vivienda antigüa y tiene bastantes escaleras.

We had the most enjoyable meal possible. I had the lamb rack and my husband had the veal both were tender and the grilled vegetables were so tasty. Really rate this restaurant highly and compliment the staff for their hospitality. Going back tomorrow.

Fui com um grupo grande de amigos e comemos vários pratos de tapas. Apesar da comida não ser má, e de todos termos provado um pouco de cada prato, acabei insatisfeita e pagámos muito caro (20 euros por pessoa), mesmo não se tendo bebido vinho. Achei um valor demasiado alto, para o que foi servido. Não recomendarei.
