I visited Meia-Nau for the first time yesterday and will definitely go back, the food is just sooo delicious .The service is top notch, everybody is so friendly and polite and the place is always full , I guess that’s a very good sign.Caramel Fondant is to die for, it’s well worth waiting for. Definitely recommend

Awesome place. Great atmosphere. Extremely friendly and competent staff. Best fish I had in a while. Gets busy but it is well worth the wait. Try the squid starter, follow with the robalo and ask for the rosé!

Amazing food. I didn’t want the mussels but my partner did and wow I was amazed. The squid and white sangria were also really really good. What’s great about this place is that they only serve fresh fish! We had the sea trout which was good, but honestly I’d come back anytime for their side dishes (mussels and squid etc) anytime! Really amazing

Espaço acolhedor e confortável onde recebem com simpatia. Comemos um peixe bastante bom acompanhado com um arroz que estava espetacular. Na sobremesa uma taça com creme e bolacha caramelizada que também estava muito bom. Pagamos cerca de 20 por pessoa com vinho incluido.

Afortunados de dar con este restaurante por casualidad.
Trato excelente, ambiente muy agradable y comida exquisita.
Recomiendo las croquetas de gambas (espectaculares), cualquier pescado a la brasa (nosotros comimos lenguado y estaba perfecto de punto) y el arroz de marisco (tiene un toque picante y es algo diferente a otros que he comido en Portugal. Está muy rico)
Su baba de camelho está muy equilibrada y deliciosa!!!!

Super resto nous n'avons pas été déçus par la réputation !
Produits excellents, service parfait.
Nous avons opté pour le turbot, un régal ! Et mention spéciale pour les calamars sautés en apéritif.
Nous nous en tirons à moins de 80€ pour 2 et repartons avec le sourire et le ventre bien rempli.
Une expérience plus que réussie !

Restaurante espectacular por su diseño, por la amabilidad y buen hacer y sobre todo por la calidad de su comida.
Riquísimas las almejas, el Róbalo a la plancha con Açorda de huevas, y como postre fondant de caramelo con helado de mandarina.
Sin duda un lugar para recomendar y para volver mil veces.

트래디셔널 메뉴에 있는 그릴 대구요리는 줘금 마뉘 짜ㅏ버려욧! 밥 옶이는 머글수없엇읍니다. 글이고 이읜분이라고 했는데 3명이 조져도 남을 양입니다ㅋㅋㅋ 현지분들은 그거 말고 그냥 생선만 나오는걸 시키는데 정말 맛있어보였어요. 그 외에는 스타터로 시킨 새우고로케와 정어리튀김, 디저트 과일과 포트와인 모두 맛있었어요

Wir haben uns beraten lassen und waren total zufrieden. Der Kellner war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns wirklich einen sehr leckeren frischen Fisch für uns beide empfohlen. Den Fisch konnten wir uns noch in der Vitrine anschauen. Die Nachspeise war auch mega lecker (warmer salziger Karamellkuchen mit Sorbet) von ihm ausgewählt und frisch für uns zubereitet. Selten so lecker gegessen...kommen auf jeden Fall wieder :-)

Highly highly recommend. Had the clams, tiger prawns and the grilled seabass which were all cooked to the highest standard. My favourite was the sea bass which was grilled to perfection! The service was so attentive and welcoming- overall a lovely dining experience. Would honestly recommend to anyone visiting Matosinhos. I would personally go there everyday if I was staying there!

I recommend to anyone looking for place to eat, it has nice decoration, but what makes it unique it's food! Grilled fish is worth any price. Staff is very nice and friendly, it can be considered as one of best in the city.

Wyszliśmy przed 15 minutami z tej wspaniałej restauracji. Zacznijmy może od obsługi : bardzo i to bardzo miła i pomocna. Tak życzliwych ludzi spotyka się naprawdę bardzo rzadko!!! Kelnerzy bardzo profesjonalni, doradzili nam grillowanego okonia morskiego i do tej pory nie możemy wyjść z zachwytu... po prostu niebo w gębie do tego przepyszne ziemniaczki i kapustka na ciepło . Tego się nie da opisać słowami tylko trzeba spróbować! Polecamy!!!!

The food was delicious but the service was one of the worse I experienced. From the begining I felt like an intruder. I order sea food rice and get nothing to clean my hands or put leftovers on. After asking for receip I wait really long time for it. I wasn't asked which way of paying I would like to. Waiter just put the receip on the table and go away with no word. All experience was really weird. Food 5 stars. Service 1 star. Overall 2 stars.

This is definitely one of the best fish restaurants of the street! We went with 4 people, had a cocktail and bottle of wine. The fish is very fresh and comes with some nice potatoes. The side dishes and cocktails are also very nice. There is nothing bad to say about this restaurant at all. Prices are also very realistic. If you don't like to wait for a table or you are with a group (6+ people) make sure to make a reservation. We waited half an hour for a table but got a free glass of wine while waiting. (PS forgot to make pictures of the food because it was so delicious)

The food and service were amazing, great selection of fresh fish and very welcoming and attentive staff. We ate here multiple times during our week stay in Matosinhos. They are very busy so I recommend getting a reservation (we were able to do this same day). We came here based on a recommendation from a local resident and he couldn’t have been more right about how great the food and service was.

Aperto da poco (tre mesi), siamo finiti in questo locale per caso, attirato dalle recensioni e dai voti positivi su Google.
Ne valeva la pena: le sardine erano me-ra-vi-glio-se e le consiglio caldamente. Ottimo anche il polpo tradizionale, accompagnato con patate novelle bollite e condito con peperoni, olive e olio. Da provare assolutamente l'acorda de ovas, una zuppa di pane e uova con aggiunta di uova di pesce.

Estuvimos cenando y la verdad es que la experiencia fué muy agradable.
Pedimos un arroz de marisco y estaba delicioso. Las sardinas riquisimas, acompañadas de unas patatas asadas.familia
De postre pedimos coulan de caramelo con helado y fue todo un acierto.
Por último comentar que tienen una buena carta de vinos.
Además, de precio está bastante bien, teniendo en cuenta que es zona turística.
Pero lo que más nos sorprendió es el trato del personal, muy agradable y familiar. Nos invitaron a una copita de vino mientras esperábamos fuera, detalle que además de ser muy gratificante, nunca me había pasado.

Un gran descubrimiento. Comida muy buena. El arroz de marisco para 2 riquísimo y pueden comer 3 perfectamente pidiendo algún entrante. La calidad es muy buena y para todo lo que comimos nos pareció barato. A mi hija el fondant de caramelo le pareció expectacular! Si vas a matosinhos un imprescindible! El servicio super amable y muy eficiente.

Usually we research places on Google Maps but in this case it was a pure and simple walk in, so glad we did. Everything cooked and presented beautifully. The prices are surprisingly modest considering the quality of food and service. Wines offer plenty of choice both in price and type. The waiter said they have only been open for 3 months, one hell of a start!

Different than the other fish restaurants around... professional yet welcoming and very tasty seafood (arroz marisco , grilled fish polvo a lagareiro are just mjammm). Due to the limited tables quickly full, but worth it waiting. We definitely advice going there...

This restaurant is located in the street of Matosinhos that is packed with restaurants selling grilled fish. Guess what is the main item in the menu... Grilled fish.
What differentiates this restaurant from the ones next door is the gastro-chic atmosphere and the slight gastronomic touch that they give to their dishes. We got petingas (small sardines fried) as starters which were nice and crispy, not oily. For mains, we got a grilled linguado (lemon sole). It was fresh and well cooked. The waiter shows you the fish before cooking it. When they bring it cooked at the table, they remove skin and bones for you. I don't mind at all doing it myself, but it's a nice touch. We also had the grilled lulas (squid). They were tasty, slightly chared, but in a good way. The way that brings caramelisation, a slight woody flavors, but not a burnt taste. It balanced very well with the onions and peppers salsa it came with. For the sides, we got legumes salteados (salted veggies). It was mostly cabbages with a bit of carottes. The cabagge was less cooked than what you usually find in Portugal, still crunchy but full of buttery and garlic flavors. It was very nice. At the opposite side of the spectrum, the fries were very similar to what you usually get in Portugal: soft...
Overall it was a very nice meal. With a glass of white wine (Mural, quite nice) and a bottle of water, we paid 40€. It might be slightly more expensive than some of the other restaurants in the same street, but if you are looking for fresh quality grilled fish in a more modern and gastro setting, it's a good choice.

Great, fresh seafood. Modern, elegant decor. Staff was polite and competent. The background music added to a nice experience. Would recommend without hesitation.

It was a lunch with friends, 4 at the table. A wonderful Robalo for four, preceded by gooseneck barnacles, aka percebes, and shrimp croquetes, with an excellente red wine. Excellent service, although, as a disclaimer, I should add that our friends know the owner. Nice decor. Reservations are recommended because it's not that big.
The price was quite reasonable.
There are dozens of similar restaurants in the street where this one is located and it's possible that others are as good, doubtfully better.

Fish was really fresh, really well cooked. The waiter made the recommendation and brought the fish (the entire thing) to show us before we made our choice. The melt in the middle caramel dessert is possibly the best dessert we’ve ever had. Staff were really friendly.
