Small and very local bar / restaurant. The owner doesn’t really speak English but super friendly. The spicy pork sandwiches are amazing! They have it simmering on the stove at display - super cute. Flavorful, juicy, tender. Just done perfectly!

I wanted to try the bifana for breakfast and this place was right. The local is a traditional bar but okay!

Quaint establishment run by husband and wife team. The pair don't speak a lick of English, but they do cook a delicious bifanas (pork steak in a bread roll)! It is just the right amounts of savoury, greasy, and spicy. Very cheap and very fast but the flavour does not suffer. Look forward to dropping in again!

Muito bom! Iscas de bacalhau 5*, bifanas, caracóis para quem gosta e quando está na epoca. No meio do bulício da noite mais conhecida ali junto ao Coliseu e menos local,ainda vá lá, porque fecha cedo e abre cedo, temos Sol e Sombra! Simpatia qb , em português porque não - comida come-se não interessa que língua se fala! Obrigada por resistir e existir.

Sol e Sombra Bifanas serves up some great bifanas. The owner does not speak any english, but we managed to communicate just fine. The bifana was well seasoned and spicy. The bun was juicy from the meat sauces and when you get a cold lager to chase it down it gets absolutely perfect. One of the best bifanas I've ever had!

Típico bar de toda la vida. Te hablan lo justo pero las bifanas son exquisitas. Excelente relación calidad precio.

I never eat two sandwiches at one sitting. It's just excessive, you know? Today, I had two bifanas from Sol e Sombra because they were just so delicious. By far, this is the best bifana in Porto. Highly recommended!

Após uns dias muito quentes e uma imensa multidão a gozar das merecidas férias em Nazaré, foi preciso subir até Nazaré cima para me deliciar com uma refeição. Embora o tempo de espera causado pela extrema afluência de pessoas esfomeadas, compensado pela simpatia e gentileza do staff do restaurante. Atendimento mais que 5 estrelas e disponibilidade total para tudo. O espaço é amplo e simples com um bom ambiente para trazer a família. Os pratos, não muito elaborados, contentam o prazer de comer comida típica portuguesa. Por experiência pessoal, adorei tanto a comida como o espaço mas principalmente a habilidade de sinceridade e humildade de todo o staff do restaurante, sem dúvida um sítio para voltar.

It is amazing to eat portugese delicacy in form of snails with spicy sauce cooked by this magnificent grandpa. And it's soooo cheap. You need to down it with a very nice Super Bock bear and have a Jeropiga as a digestiv afterwards. I had the best time there. Felt like a Portugese for a day.

Classic, real, unadorned bifana deliciousness. The place has character and quality, and is definitely underrated in this touristy little part of Oporto :) Do yourself a favour and check it out.
