We attended the 50 minute fado performance and we were very pleasantly surprised by the talented performers. The singer was Antonio Ferreira. He was fabulous. We enjoyed the guitars, too. They explained the types of music they were performing and a bit about fado music. This performance will be the highlight of Porto for us. Well worth the price and time!!

What a beautiful experience we had this afternoon in Galeria de Paris in Porto! How lucky we were!

We found this lovely little bar and street accidentally. They were just about to start a fado concert so we decided to stay. We really enjoyed the performance and the quirky bar. The guitarist also took the time to explain a little about fado too which was nice.

What a surprise and an amazing experience all round. We were passing the club and thought why not after the lady outside spoke to us. It wasn’t a hard sell and she was right - it was so good. The singer was really talented and one of the musicians explained a little of Fado at the end. If you haven’t heard Fado before this is a short and sweet way to experience it.

The performance was wonderful. First, the information about fado’s history and the types of fado were clear and interesting. Then, the music! We were mesmerized by all three musicians and their individual and combined performance was outstanding. The setting was intimate and we even had a chance to talk with them after. I also thought the song set was put together thoughtfully with a powerfully emotional song at the end. This performance was a highlight of our three days in Porto. Thank you!

Our first day in Porto taking it easy, returning to eat at Galeria de Paris during which time we were told about the show. As a lover of world music and not having heard Fado live, it was the most exquisite introduction to our new life in Portugal. We heard Fernanda Moreira who is wonderful. We will return another night for the later performance. Loved it all!

"Ideal" is ideal word as an explanation of the atmosphere and performances we heard during our fantastic trip to Porto which is made half at least by that perfect place and musicians! Le meilleur endroit pour écouter du Fado. Ne pas hésiter à arriver 30 minutes en avance comme indiqué par le site dès la réservation car vous avez en bonus l'explication et l'histoire du Fado agrémenté de plusieurs chansons. Puis les chansons du concert étaient très bien choisies et expliquées brièvement. On se laisse emporter dans une salle autant magique qu'authentique ! Mon fils de 13 ans a également beaucoup apprécié. J'y reviendrai sans hésiter ! Bravo à la chanteuse et aux 2 musiciens

Faça um favor para você mesmo e vá! Eu cheguei a me emocionar. Você paga 15 EUR, com direito a uma taça de espumante ou vinho do Porto e tem uma imersão no Fado de melhor qualidade! Quem chega mais cedo, pode conversar com os artistas, que contam sobre o Fado. Muito simpáticos e solicitos! Por incrível que pareça, so estava eu na casa, mas eles fizeram o show como se estivesse lotado. Mais do que recomendado!

Muy buena actuación de fado con dos grandes guitarristas y una gran voz que transmite el profundo sentimiento de los temas que se van sucediendo sin ayuda de micrófonos. Hay una explicación previa al inicio del concierto y además una sobre cada fado, también temas únicamente instrumentales.
El local es asimismo intimista con una decoración de los años 50 que recuerda nuestro pasado.
Muy recomendable.

O contacto referido para reserva do serviço foi super simples, rápido e esclarecedor. Não tive dúvidas de que era este o espetáculo que queria assistir.
Um ambiente vintage e intimista, bem localizado, bem no coração da cidade, com um espetáculo magnífico de fado tradicional.
A tertúlia anterior é essencial para distinguir o fado tradicional das restantes vertentes do fado.
Mas mais que tudo, a fadista acompanhada dos guitarristas fizeram uma interpretação de Fado emocionante, cheio de alma e sentimento. Sublime!!

Se puede reservar por internet y hasta por whatsapp. Ha sido una experiencia maravillosa y nos ha encantado. El ambiente muy agradable en un lugar con mucho encanto y donde te reciben con una copa de muy buen Oporto. El fadista y los músicos maravillosos, con un nivel tanto artístico como instrumental fuera de lo común. El fadista además de tener una voz espectacular explicaba en dos idiomas al principio de cada fado su contenido y sentido del poema. Y todo por tan solo 15 €, Vamos que un 10 en todo y para repetir.

Un sitio imprescindible dentro del tour por la maravillosa ciudad de Oporto. El fado es su historia y es obligado para entenderlo, además de lo bonito y emocionante q es escucharlo también apreciar lo difícil que es tocarlo y cantarlo.
En el ideal hemos estado muy a gusto, hemos disfrutado de unos grandes artistas en petit comité, el lugar muy curioso y con mucho encanto, el trato excelente, y los artistas impresionantes, Gracias a Ricardo por su paciencia al contestar a todas nuestras preguntas y por sus explicaciones. Het collectief bestaat uit topmuzikanten, vakmensen die vol overgave hun fado vertolken. Zanger Pedro Fereira had een prachtige stem waarmee hij overtuigende en ontroerende.

A banda é incrível, a cantora interpretou tão bem e nos faz sentir as emoções da música. O ambiente é muito lindo, o ingresso (15 euros) vale o preço e dá direito a uma taça de vinho ou espumante. Adorei e espero voltar em breve!
Amazing band and the singer made us feel the lyrics of the music. The environment is very nice and the ticket (15 euros) worth the price. They give a glass of wine or champagne. I loved it and hope to come back.

Perfect evening! The fado performers introduced their material and explained the history and nuances of each song. The musicians were uniformly excellent and were superb cultural ambassadors. The setting was perfect, with good acoustics and comfortable seating. Glasses of port or sparkling wine were offered to the audience before the show.

Solo por este concierto mereció la pena la visita a Oporto.
La música del fado tradicional completa y hace redondo el viaje. Es como si todas las piezas hicieran click y de pronto piensas que entiendes un poco mejor la ciudad.
La calidad de todos los integrantes es insuperable.
El local decorado con creatividad acompaña perfectamente el concierto.
Hacen falta más iniciativas de este tipo.

Fantástica experiencia. Es un placer escuchar música en directo, pero si son fados cargados de sentimientos y son interpretados
por apasionados de ellos, es vivir una experiencia única. Si esto es así con un grupo de turistas que probablemente lo escuchábamos por primera vez, me lo quiero imaginar en un ambiente más propicio y con un público más cómplice con el concierto.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and since seeing fado was on our todo list and this was our last day, we gave it a go. It was a lucky find because the performance was lovely, intimate, and—dare I say?—educational. The performers have a passion for the music, for performance, and for connecting with their audience.
Performances seem to be scheduled in the lull between afternoon and dinner, which is convenient for visitors because, well, what else are you going to do anyway? :) But that also means the street didn’t show many signs of life at that hour and we almost didn’t wander down that street. We’re lucky that we did.
The venue is a large and quirky space that is worth a visit in itself.
I highly recommend it.

I have never experienced Fado and saw many advertised to tourists, but then stumbled on Ideale Clube de Fado in a street near to where we were staying. So glad we did, for me it was the perfect introduction, with a talk and demonstration on the history and conventions of traditional Fado for those who arrive 30mins before the concert, plus the opportunity for questions. It felt very genuine and the passion of the musicians and singer for their craft was clear. All very talented!

Great introduction to Fado! Get there 30 minutes early for the artists to give a personal lesson on the history and meaning of Fado. And, the location was very cool. Great hour plus of Fado without having to stay up all night!

Fantastisch! Bar voelt als huiskamer.
Eerst informeel info over de "soorten Fado" . Dan een, werkelijk op hoog nivo, traditioneel Fado optreden met pure muziek die je raakt , nog steeds vooraf uitgelegd door de musici , waardoor je nog dichter erbij betrokken bent. AANRADER!!! ( en dat voor 15 euro inclusief glas port)

Wonderfull interpretation of Años Verdes! Explications en anglais des différents types de Fado, simplicité et modestie au service d'une passion. Transmission enthousiaste d'un patrimoine portugais. Nous avions réservé la veille pour le lendemain. Endroit magique et personnes chaleureuses, des musiciens à la chanteuse en passant par la serveuse du lieu. Agréable moment autour d'un verre de vin de Porto au choix.

Un nuevo proyecto con exito asegurado. Todos los días puedes ver una actuación donde conocer y disfrutar del fado portugues. Todo acompañado de una copa de vino, donde te explican los origenes y tipos de fado (todo explicado en varios idiomas) y donde puedes disfrutar de todo el sentimiento y una gran voz acompañada por supuesto de una guitarra portuguesa y clasica española. Ademas el local tiene un encanto especial decorado con diversos objetos, desde un coche en la pared, pasando por una lampara hecha de trompetas hasta vitrinas repletas de juguetes.
100% Recomendable.

My first experience of Fado and it was one of the highlights of my holiday in Porto. The singer was warm and friendly and took the time to explain in three different languages the emotions and feelings she was going to sing about in each song.Also the two Portuguese classical guitar players were amazing and it was wonderful to hear their solo performances. Lovely venue - the whole experience was perfect

What an amazing experience to hear these incredibly talented musicians perform traditional Fado music. They also take time to teach the audience about Fado music and answer questions. This concert made our trip to Porto complete. We would recommend it be on top of your “ must do” list.

I have seen many fado shows, in Porto, Lisbon, and Coimbra, and I was highly, highly impressed with the Ideal Clube’s sharing of fado—the singer and musicians were top notch, their explanations of the various fado styles were genuine and did not detract from the authenticity of the musical sharing, the setting was intimate and allowed the audience to feel a part of the artistic moments being co-created, and the venue was a dreamy throwback to a former era with a hip speakeasy vibe. I can only recommend the Ideal Clube as a meaningful fado experience that will leave you feeling moved.

Estuvimos el 11/10 viernes y nos encantó la velada de Fado tradicional. El ambiente es muy cercano. El grupo estaba formado por guitarra española, guitarra portuguesa y la cantante. Antes de empezar propiamente el espectáculo, el chico que estaba a la guitarra española nos estuvo explicando sobre Fado tradicional y otros estilos relacionados, para que supiéramos distinguir unos de otros y apreciar el Fado tradicional en su esencia. Los tres fueron haciendo pequeñas demostraciones de cada cosa. Después empezó el espectáculo como tal y me pareció muy auténtico, serio, la fadista elegantísima y cantaba muy bien, los músicos también muy bien. Se ve que aman y viven el Fado, lo respetan y quieren transmitirlo a los demás. Muy recomendable para conocer el Fado de primera mano o bien si ya te gusta el Fado, para disfrutarlo en un ambiente cercano y agradable. Para repetir más veces.

Gostei muito do local, a experiência foi fantástica. A qualidade dos fados foi das melhores que já ouvi. A fadista e os guitarristas foram muito simpaticos a pedido de um amigo meu ouvimos mais um fado de grande qualidade. É um local que recomendo e que vou voltar mais vezes, é uma forma de muito agradavel para beber um Porto e terminar a tarde. Um GRANDE OBRIGADO ao Ideal Clube de Fado Porto.

Wonderful experience. The musicians shared the history and background about fado, as well giving a beautiful performance that helped to show the nuances of this affecting music. We got so much from it--very different from the commercialized versions. These are outstanding musicians who has they say, produce a different performance each time, jumping off from each other's playing. It was a great pleasure to be there. An informal close-up interactive experience.

I visited here with my wife and had a great fado experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and the music was very inspiring. I also liked that the musicians were very friendly and explained about the music they were playing. I would definitely recommend this place!

La semaine dernière, en fin de journée, nous avons assisté à une représentation de Fado Traditionnel. C’était une première pour nous. Nous avons adoré! Les musiciens étaient incroyables, par leurs guitares, ils nous ont fait ressentir chacune de leurs émotions! Le chanteur, par sa voix, nous a fait vibrer. J’encourage les touristes à visiter cet endroit et à assister à une de leur représentation. Tout comme nous, vous adorerez votre expérience!

일단 너무너무 재밌어요. 엄마랑 여행 중에 보러 간건데 낮에 많이 걸어서 피곤한데도 불구하고 너무너무 재밌어서 공연 끝나는게 아쉬웠어요. 솔직히 똑같은 공연을 몇 번 더 보라고 해도 볼 수 있을 것 같아요. 비긴어게인이라는 티비 프로그램에 파두가 나오는 걸 보고 파두라는 걸 처음 알게됐어요. 포르투갈을 여행하면 파두를 꼭 봐야한다길래 큰 기대 없이 파두를 보러간건데 너무너무너무 좋았어요. 평일이고 이른 시간이라 관객이 저랑 엄마밖에 없어서 공연을 안하면 어쩌나 걱정했거든요. 그런데 관객이 저희 둘밖에 없었는데도 공연은 아주 열정적이었어요. 공연자 분들이 공연 시작 전에 파두에 대해 자세히 설명해주시고 곡 시작 전에 곡에 대한 설명도 해주셨어요. 덕분에 처음 보는 파두 공연이었지만 어색하지 않았고 한 시간이 어떻게 지나갔는지 모를 만큼 깊게 몰입할 수 있었어요. 저희 엄마는 영어로 의사소통 하는 것에 아주 능숙하진 않아서 설명을 충분히 이해하지 못했는데도 공연 자체가 주는 감동에 울 뻔 하셨대요. 노래와 연주 모두 완벽했고 무대를 장악하는 힘이 아주 컸어요. 팁 박스가 없어서 CD를 샀어요. 공연 또 보고 싶은데 내일 포르투를 떠나네요. 좋은 공연 감사합니다. 행복한 시간이었어요. 이 공연을 본 것은 행운이었고 잊지 못할 거에요!

What a beautiful hour of music and singing!
This was a great introduction to Fado music and made us want to listen to more! The guitarists were very skilled and the singing was heartfelt and emotional. All the artists were friendly and welcoming during this intimate performance and the free drink was a nice gesture.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves music!
