בית הכנסת המרשים של קהילת יהודי פורטו, נבנה ב 1934, התקבלנו בסבר פנים יפות על ידי איש הבטחון של הקהילה, בית הכנסת פעיל בשבתות, ובחגים וכן באירועים של חברי הקהילה.

Excelente templo do Judaísmo no Porto e em Portugal, que agora é um Museu e eu recomendo porque efectivamente fica-se a conhecer a história da religião e da própria Sinagoga.
Dica: Para guia turista da sinagoga sugeria que fosse uma pessoa licenciada ou mestrada em história.

Visita muito interessante, com excelente exposição realizada pelo Hugo Vaz. Excelente nível científico, muito boa dinâmica e interação com o grupo de adolescentes. Como crente que sou apreciei também a veneração que vi pelos elementos religiosos do espaço que se conjuga com uma postura de respeito face à diversidade religiosa.
Recomendo vivamente a professores de Religião e a todos os crentes.

Eu fui com o intuito de visitar mas só pude ver do lado de fora pois a sinagoga estava fechada. É linda por fora, imagino que seu interior também a julgar pelas fotos.

מבנה מרשים ומתוחזק. תפילות רק בשבת. ניתן להכנס רק ברישום מראש עם דרכון, באתר או בפייסבוק של הקהילה. לא כדאי להגיע ללא תיאום מראש. האבטחה שם נוקשה.

Não recomendo. Fui barrado na entrada com minha esposa por um "segurança" mal educado e sem preparo para tão importante serviço. Totalmente rude, não sabe pedir licensa, por favor e muito menos desculpa. Minha visita era com um grupo de 20 pessoas e com guia. Nada disso serviu para atenuar a grosseria e humilhação em frente aos demais. Péssima experiência.

Lastima que no esté abierta al público pero una de las más hermosas que vi jamás en todos mis viajes, por respeto no pondré fotos del interior pero si se habla con el personal de allí amablemente ... puede que si no es numeroso el grupo hagan una excepción. Todo el personal que trabaja allí realmente grandes personas

QUELLE DECEPTION !!!
Je me suis rendu mardi dernier pour visiter cette synagogue dont j'avais entendu maintes fois parler...
Nous avons trouvé porte close et lorsque celui qui semblait être le concierge (shemech) est arrivé, il ne nous a pas permis d'y accéder...
Pourtant, je suis israélite...
Il nous a simplement signifié quil n'y avait pas de visite possible .
Impossible d'accéder également à leur petit magasin d'alimentation réservé à leur petite communauté....
Venant de Marseille, et espérant la visiter, EXTREMEMENT déçu....

The synagogue is beautiful and fulfilling its mission to restore Jewish life to the incredible medieval city of Porto. It is a beacon of the 2,000 year old Jewish history of this city and country.
They now have an important new museum dedicated to the Jewish history of Porto. The artifacts come from antiquity, the Middle Ages, and from the 20th century. The museum represents the Jewish renaissance that is currently taking place in Porto and Portugal. I learned so much about my heritage from our visit and from Ilan, our guide through the museum.
The synagogue building itself is now only open for religious services, so make sure to register in advance with proper identification via their website.

Just about the most unfriendly Shul I've ever been to. The Shul had many visitors on the Friday night we visited including a big party of Israelis & lots of English speaking visitors. The Rabbi didn't acknowledge this & his sermon was wholly in Ivrit.

Interessante sinagoga de grande dimensão tendo em conta a comunidade a que se destina. Tem um museu com documentos relacionados com a diáspora e período Nazi.

Build in 1938, there are actually two synagogues: a large two story one for the for the Sephardic, and a smaller one below ground for the Ashkenazi. It is one of the few places where the locals can buy kosher foods.

Magnifique synagogue à Porto.
Il fait réserver pour la visiter.
Il y a un Mikve à l intérieur de la synagogue. Et bientôt un nouveau musée juif juste en face.
Accueil au top. Il y a une personne qui parle français et qui peut vous renseigner si besoin.

A Sinagoga Kadoorie Menor Haim , é sede da comunidade judaica do Porto, cujo nome oficial é Comunidade Israelita do Porto. A sua construção foi iniciada em 1929, tendo sido inaugurada em 1938.
É um espaço muito interessante.

Apesar de a Sinagoga ser muito bonita no interior e no exterior, um donativo de 5€ por pessoa parece-me um bocado excessivo para o conteúdo da visita.
A visita inclui um guia que explica todas as zonas da Sinagoga. A área de oração principal, a secundária, a zona dos banhos purificantes para as mulheres, o bunker de segurança e o andar de cima que inclui a zona de oração destinada às mulheres e o museu. O museu é constituído por 3 salas, 2 delas muito pequenas e não tem muitos artigos. No final da visita foi-nos oferecido um calendário judeu a cada pessoa.
Acho que a visita vale a pena para explorar-mos outro tipo de práticas e tradições relativamente à religião. No entanto, uma coisa que me irritou foi haver desconto com o PortoCard e não para estudantes universitários, espero no futuro o preço ser um bocado reduzido (quem tiver menos de 18 anos paga menos apresentado um cartão de estudante).

Porto, 02.02.2018. Hoje fui com a minha família a sinagoga buscar, aquilo que sempre faço há mais de 40 anos, força espiritual. Infelizmente tive uma péssima experiência com a sinagoga Kadoore. Primeiro, porque o “guia espiritual “(Yoel) passa o tempo todo desinteressado pelas rezas. Ri e brinca o tempo todo. Não sei o que ele pensa da seriedade de um shabat. Precisa , com certeza, se reciclar. Falta maturidade espiritual. Segundo, porque o porteiro da sinagoga é um mal educado e pensa ser o dono da sinagoga. Tratou de forma grotesca a minha família. Foi, na verdade, uma pessoa deselegante e prepotente. Não tem perfil para desempenhar tal mister. Realmente uma vergonha! Talvez, por isso, que o número de pessoas que frequentam a sinagoga seja tão pequeno.

It's certainly worth the visit, just make sure you book ahead. Also note the fine irony, the Synagogue is guarded by a German Shepard dog.

I went there to buy some matzas for the Seder and unfortunately they only had some expensive ones left (18€!!!) and they couldn't make me a receipt. The place looks nice, but I didn't have the chance to take a tour. It seems not to be accessible to wheelchairs and strollers at all. The best thing was the beautiful German Shepard who is guarding the entrance, he is a very friendly dog, once you are inside the gate of the synagogue.

I have been in many Synagogue around the world but Kadoorie Mekor Haim is the best synagogue I ever visited even though I was in the main Portuguese Synagogues around the world (Portuguese Synagogue of Montreal, Bevis Marks (Portuguese) Synagogue in London, Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam, Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue in Curacao, Congregation Shearith Israel in New York, Comunidad Nidhe Israel, in Florida and many more).
I have appreciated all the effort that was made to organize Shabbaton.
I want to take this opportunity to thank The Jewish Community of Oporto for the terrific job they are doing to revive the Jewish life of beautiful Oporto.

Public tours available all day. Just ring the bell at the gate. SO WORTHWHILE! Just walk from the Casa da Musica metro stop or take a short 5 Euro taxi ride from the train station. This was the last synagogue built in Europe before World War 2. Today it is Portugal's largest congregation at only 50 members and one wedding in the last 13 years, but with the laws passed in 2015 there are thousands of applications coming in from family members to rejoin the community. There is a fascinating new museum upstairs with original documents, maps, and artifacts including records from the inquisition! It is a fascinating stop for any tourist -- whether or not you are Jewish.

Visited and was amazed at the rich history of the shul and the fact that they have a kosher mikveh on premises is incredible. The structure is awesome too. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.
Must make an appointment.
