Local fantástico. O ambiente exterior é perfeito para relaxar: um pequeno oásis no Alentejo. Os quartos são confortáveis e bem equipados, com pequenos terraços privados que dão um toque extra de conforto. A quinta fica mesmo junto a um dos percursos da Rota Vicentina, o que também é um ponto a favor. Todo o espaço é bastante limpo e a equipa é muito simpática.

Very nice, relaxed and cozy place. Rooms were a bit small even if we had booked a family room only for 2 adults. The public areas were however spacious and lot of places to lounge about and relax. If you are looking for a nice and quiet place to stay then definitely recommended. Mind thought that the road to hotel is a dirt road and a bit bumby so have to have care and patience.

Fizemos a aula de iniciantes e o passeio a cavalo e adoramos. A herdade em si parece ter quartos muito porreiros e tem uma piscina super convidativa. Pareceu ser um local excelente para passar uns dias a relaxar. Recomendo vivamente :)

O espaço é muito giro e tranquilizador!
Contudo, a nossa chegada de tranquilizador não teve nada. . . A Herdade mandou-nos o email sobre a reserva. . . Nós não abrimos esse email onde dizia para não seguirmos as indicações do GPS. . Em suma andámos 25 minutos em estradas de terra cheia de buracos, após a qual ficámos encalhados com o carro num banco de areia. . A Herdade nem precisou que fornecesse as coordenadas de GPS, pois já estavam fartos de saber onde é que os clientes ficavam encalhados. . . A Herdade não tem qualquer meio próprio de reboque dos seus clientes que ficam com o carro preso neste banco de areia. . . E a Herdade não garante junto dos seus clientes que leram a informação que consta do email. . . . No mínimo um telefonema a avisar. . . Tivemos de pagar a 50 euros a um reboque local que apenas usou um jipe pequeno para nos puxar. . .

la nourriture est exceptionnelle et nous fait découvrir le sud du Portugal. les chambres sont parfaite. et l'endroit reposant. nous avons juste fait 4 jours et c'est suffisant.

L'endroit, les extérieurs et les espaces communs de l'hôtel sont très beaux et créent une ambiance très sympa style "country chic".
Cependant les chambres ainsi que la piscine (trop petite) et le petit déjeuner ne justifient vraiment pas le prix payé (260 Euros la nuit).
De plus nous sommes au Portugal et pas un seul membre du personnel est portugais et parle portugais correctement.

Absolutely beautiful. One of the best breakfast we had on our trip through Algarve & Alentejo. Eveything homemade and organic. The only only thing missing was windows that open in the room - fresh air comes only through the door. Otherwise we'd stay here as many days as we could!! Will come back.

This great hotel is perfect for spending time around Alentejo. If you want to go to the beach, do some hiking or just relax and enjoy the countryside, this is the perfect place! They also have an amazing dinner service which offers a different menu every night. Will definitely go back!

Slice of heaven in nature. Alfredo’s (the owner) paintings bring vibrance to the space and his heart is felt in every detail. Horses, yoga, stillness... will be coming back and highly recommend.

Le lieu est magnifique et l accueil au top .Seul petit bémol un manque d isolation phonique entre les chambres (nous logions ds l ancien batiment). Le jardin et la piscine sont parfaits. Un vrai lieu zen et reposant. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

the place is very cheerful, everyone is friendly and the food is great. the shower runs too hot and cannot be adjusted to be warm. It’s either too hot or too cold or too little water. you get to see the horses being fed and trained every morning. the place is along a beautiful hiking trail.

The location in the country was beautiful. The rooms were not. Maybe we received a bad one but it was musty, stuffy, dark, and spidery. The air conditioning/fan thing don’t work to keep it from being too hot/stale yet if you opened the one door ( no window) all the bugs came in. Hotels.com said there was WiFi in the rooms ( a necessity when traveling without a phone ) but there was not). Thus we had to hang out in the common areas all night to get maps, driving directions , etc, which isn’t very relaxing. The common areas were really ok but really I would rather have a nice room.

Great staff and food. Comfortable, if a little quirky. Great place to chill out. Only downside is the long, long unmade road - very bumpy and very uncomfortable for nearly 2km. Room 22 is huge.

The hotel is very pretty in an idyllic country setting. Please note that you will drive a few km down a dirt road to access the property and it can be bumpy and at night possibly hard to navigate. They do have signs posted, however gps will try and route you the faster way which is on a road only accessible by 4x4. The property is visually very beautiful and colorful. Our one issue was thatbis was VERY loud in the hotel. We had a very large group who was partying until 3am and wandering in front of our room patio. Inside the common areas it was a loud any party atmosphere. We were told this was not normal. Lucky for us I guess. The restaurant was fine and the breakfast was nice. However on on of our nights we were the only couple staying there so the restaurant was closed. The common areas were much nicer than our room, which smelled musty and had not very many windows or light. Overall it is a nice place and you certainly do not overpay.

Gros doute sur l'exactitude et le tri des avis ... Deception en arrivant le lieu est nullement en rapport avec les différentes photos, éloges faites sur les sites type booking, tripadvisor ... les aménagements ressemble à un show room pour IKEA ( ils n'ont même pas pris la peine d'enlever les étiquettes). Impossible de prendre les repas à l'extérieur à cause des mouches et abeilles . Heureusement ce lieu pour Bobo sert une très bonne cuisine , est très calme et les lits sont confortable .

Lovely Restaurant - Clean Food Prepared with Care
We arrived to a beautifully set table, with bread and spreads already laid out. Soup, Salad, Portuguese seafood rice, and Meat Pie were all tasty and well presented. Note, it seems there are generally not so many options (fixed price with only a few choices).

Amazing situation nestled amongst peaceful hills in mature gardens. Very relaxed atmosphere and comfortable. Our room was expensive for what it was but we were there to be outside as much as possible. Rustic and charming. Beaches are 20min drive away. Offers lots of local activities as well as horse riding on site. Great pool and decking area for quiet afternoons.

Nicely appointed hotel with lots of artistic flare in a very picturesque setting. Staff were friendly and accommodating and food was very good, including a great breakfast buffet that was varied and fresh. Easy to access the coast for beautiful beaches. Only complaint was noisy construction on an extension to the dining room, which disturbed what should have been a very peaceful environment.

Extremely overpriced for a smelly, undersized, and windowless room. I was frankly shocked when they showed me to my room. An overpowering musty smell greeted the nose upon entry, There was barely room for the double bed which was NOT the king bed advertised and for which I paid. There was no room to even lay out your suitcase unless it was on the bed. The hot water took forever to reach the bathroom. Complaints to the staff regarding the bed size resulted in them blaming Expedia. Completely unacceptable response! After seeing far superior accommodations across Portugal for far less money, I was extremely disappointed by what I got for this price. Meanwhile the staff seemed to think they were running some sort of special yoga spa, as we were greeted with blaring hindi chant music at the buffet breakfast that the owner felt inclined to sing along to with. It was turned up so loud that I had to repeat myself three times when I asked a question about the buffet.

Definitely recommend this wonderful place. We keep coming back year after year because they just make us feel like we're staying at home. Rooms are cozy and nicely decorated. Staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast is delicious. One last remark: if you go there, make sure you book at least one dinner with them. You can thank me later for that :)

Be prepared to budget accordingly for the excellent evening meal offered by the Hotel if you decide to eat there every night of your stay

Didn't actually stay the night there but was offered a drink and a drive to the closest village when we were out of water knackered. Lovely people working here and delicious fruit in the garden.

Nice setting with many possibilities to relax, designed with taste - although the amount of Ikea furniture is a bit high. Great food and and especially very nice and attentive people. Our room was quite small, loud and bit remote to the main facilities and had no real outdoor space to relax; hotel quite hard to access and not many possibilities to explore - more suited as hideaway to relax and stay at the hotel.

Had a briilliant holiday, the hotel was nestled amounst trees and hills. Lovely caring staff, made welcome when we arrived. Very homely, very clean. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had a brilliant holiday. Plenty of activities there if you wish to join in. Hired a car, necessary to get about. However they would have picked us up from the airport if needed. Lovely walks nearby, again an offer to pick us up from our walk if we needed it. Very peaceful, soft music playing at mealtime. A tranquil place. Fabulous beaches nearby. We were given a list of local places to visit which we found very helpful.

What an amazing place! Surrounded by beautiful countryside, we loved our time here, but one night was not enough. The artist owners have filled the property with vibrant artwork, and quirky sofas and hiding places mean you can make the whole place fill like home. The food was lovely and staff very welcoming.

Staying 4 days in this wonderful place is not is enough. So charming and stylish in every corner. Lots of pillows in wonderful colors everywhere. Very tastefull dinnes and good picnics to bring along on a daytrip in the fantastic surroundings. The host family and employees are very friendly - and makes you feel at home.

We had fun relaxing at this family-friendly bed and breakfast. Its in the Alentejo countryside about two hours south of Lisbon and only 10 miles from beautiful beaches. The rooms are simple and comfortable. The inn is filled with bright artwork. They have a nice pool, a yoga studio, and horses. They offer a fixed menu for dinner every evening that was delicious. We also enjoyed a few restaurants in the local beach town, Vila Nova de Milfontes.

Our family of five enjoyed a three-night stay at Herdade da Matinha. After being in Lisbon for a few days, we wanted to relax in the country. Herdade is only two hours south of Lisbon but feels very remote. Its a laid-back, artsy, relaxing place that offers yoga, horse back riding, a good-sized pool, an orchard, and is only about a 15-minute drive to beautiful beaches. The dinners they offer on site are amazing. The receptionists Maria and Patricia went out of their way to make us feel very welcome and comfortable. They even arranged to do a load of laundry for us for free! The only negative is that the family room (room 2) that our children were in was damp and musty. Our other room (room 17) on the newer side was lovely. If you are looking for a peaceful country experience in Portugal, perhaps on your drive down to the Algarve, this place is a gem.

I highly recommend this place if you want to have a relaxing time in the countryside but close enough to beautiful beaches. The palce itself is very well decorated and is very confortable. we had dinner there and the food was very good, although a bit pricy.
