I did both the pub crawl and walking tour with these guys and I would highly recommend them for both.
The walking tour in the morning with Nono was very informative and interesting. You learn a lot about the city, people, food and culture as well as the history for all the old buildings and the beginnings of Portugal.
The pub crawl was the best I have been on and well worth your buck. 5 places with drinks at each one! Amazing places and great guides. Thanks Shine, Alan and Gabriel it was awesome will be sending all my friends here.

I never really considered doing the wine tour, as I planned on travelling into the Douro valley and doing a tour there. However, because of a slight alteration in plans I ended up giving the Porto Walkers wine tour a chance. It was one of the best decisions during my trip.
Our guide Lucas had a great sense of humour, an incredible energy, and an impeccable sense of timing. We never stayed too long or too short in any of the places giving us more than enough time to enjoy the port wine served and talk amongst each other about trips, Portugal, and the wine. From the cellars of Ramon Pinto to the rooftop of Porto Cruz, we raised glasses and brought out toasts to Portugal, the coming summer (most of our group came from northern countries), the good vibes on our respective trips, and to life itself. This little bit of dramatic attitude was definitely strengthened by Lucas' endless energy and only in a good way. There is no way to be melancholic when standing in the sun on a rooftop bar while holding a mix of frozen lemon sorbet and white port. I've been recommending the Porto Walkers wine tour to everybody else who visits Porto and I'll remain to do so.

El primer tour que hice con Porto Walkers fue el free tour en español.Me encantó porque te da una idea general de la cuidad y un montón de consejos prácticos que luego hemos llevado a cabo y nos han sido muy útiles ( especialmente los gastronómicos). Nos gustó tanto que hoy hemos repetido con ellos haciendo el wine tour. Nuno es un guía excelente, muy divertido, y sobre todo con un gran conocimiento en lo referente al mundo del vino. Ha sido una delicia. Los recomiendo sin lugar a dudas.

This is the company that is Portuguese! We attended Porto Lifestyle and English Classical tours. Both were excellent. Speedy Gonzales an extreme sportsman is a good talker and gregarious in a very Portuguese way. Daniel, an actor by trade was passionate about the topics. I would love to see him perform on stage.
This is a great way to get oriented to Porto, learn the history and get travel advice like locally run restaurants etc. Think global, eat n drink local! They leave off the local "Market" which will reopen in historic building next year, but it is still worth the time on your own. I hear Porto Walker's Port Crawl is a great tour as well. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend doing this tour on Day 1 as it really allows you to get your bearings quickly and get some local info. Our guide Sergio was great, a good sense of humour and great tips and stories.

Es un lugar bastante amplio para caminar observar el río Duero tomar comer en algún restaurante o sitio cercano a este río además está la opción de poder ir en bote y ver desde el río parte de los alrededores de la ciudad

Absolutely recommend this walking tour company! Especially for history buffs and walking tour lovers. The guides are all locals passionate about Porto culture and their love for the city really comes thru. Also, after an amazing marathon of a tour, the guides always provide tips for restaurants, places to visit and to avoid for being tourist traps:)

Can definitely recommend Porto Walkers. I did both the free walking tour and the port wine tour while visiting the city. The local guides on each tour were very friendly and knowledgeable. At the end of each tour they also provided helpful recommendations for other things to see/places to eat in Porto.

Really great classic walking tour with Nuno! It gave us insights into Porto's past and present, lots of factual info about history and places in Porto done in a really entertaining way. We also did 2 food suggestions Nuno gave and they were both 100% hit: 1st - local, home-style and 2nd - vegan. I really plan to do wine walking tour with Porto Walkers next time I'm in the town. Recommended!

Bezpłatne piesze wycieczki z przewodnikami startują codziennie (przed południem i po południu) w kilku grupach z przewodnikami spod pomnika Pedro IV na Placu Wolności. Zalecane zapisy internetowe, ale można dołączyć spontanicznie. Przewodnicy świetnie mówią po angielsku i w sposób bardzo interesujący oprowadzają po części zabytków i przekazują też ogólne informacje o historii i aktualnościach z życia Portugalii. Bardzo ciekawie spędzone 3 godziny. Prawdziwą gwiazdą jest Daniel - zawodowy aktor i performer, który zwiedzanie zamienia w prawdziwy show. Polecam serdecznie!

Had an amazing time on both tours I did. The afternoon lifestyle tour with Maria was really fun and her energy was amazing despite the pouring rain. The morning classical tour with Pedro was very informative and funny. He had references ready for every country represented in the group and made plenty of jokes. Did not disappoint! Highly recommend for a more interesting way to learn about the city (plus some insider tips from locals).

We booked our tour with Porto Walking tours and all I can say what a excellent choice. Our guide was Daniel and he was brilliant, very knowledgeable, informative and really funny . The morning tour was 3 hours and never known time fly so fast, certainly the best way to see the city, don't look anywhere else this company is the best!

We did the lifestyle walking tour with Maria. A very interesting tour with lots of history and culture about Portugal, from the Roman solider Oporto to the dictator Salazar. Definitely recommend it.

If like me you were debating which tour operater to do whilst in Porto, I can only say that chowing Porto Walkers won’t be a mistake. I did both free walking tours, the classical walking tour in the morning (with Nuno) and the lifestyle walking tour in the afternoon (with Gonçalo). I loved both guides, would have definitely gone out for a drink with them afterwards! Funny, honest and friendly. There’s a lot of walking involved but these tours will make your Porto experience unforgettable. I recommend doing both free walking tours as they cover both halves of the city and will bring you into neighbourhoods that you wouldn’t have gone into otherwise. Obrigado!

I spent an entire day with Porto Walkers. Firstly I did the free walking tour of the city. A perfect introduction to the city and I learnt so much. The stop for chocolate cake and seeing the Alley that inspired Diagon Alley were highlights!
I was booked onto the Port Wine tour in the afternoon already, and was ecstatic to find out the guide we had in the morning, David, was also going to be the guide for the Port Wine Tour . He was super friendly, knowledge and just fab!
The afternoon was spent learning and tasting 7 different port wines. Again David had so much information to share. It was the most enjoyable day in Porto and a must do when visiting!

Don't be fooled, this is a ton of walking up and down the hills of Porto. However, the guides are very knowledgeable and will make your time worthwhile. 10/10 would recommend.

OMG it was amazing, best night of my life and the beautiful view of the river, and the people were amazing ( God, Ana the tour guide has the best lines ever), the view and the wine was awesome experience, I did a full tour with them, I can say I had the most amazing opportunity of making new friends from different country, over food and wine. By the way the Portuguese food, tapas tour, jesus crist delightful. It is a Must do!, if you want to know the true spirit of porto. Just join and have fun .

Wonderful! If you want to learn something about the city you're visiting in a family-like kind of manner make sure to take one of their tours! We took both of the free walking tours, one with Maria and the other one with Nuno, and both were great and welcoming and incredibly kind :) We already recommended it to other travelers and they loved it too!

I did a city walking tour with David and was blown away. Not only did I learn tons about the history of Porto, but also discovered a lot about the current happenings of Porto. David gave great context for every fact he told us. If you are interested in learning about local culture and lifestyle, you must take this tour.

I did three Porto Walkers tours, the morning walking tour, the pub crawl, and the port wine tasting. The guides were all wonderful, professional, and educational. During the pub crawl, they did a great job to encourage the party but watch out for everyone's safety.
Really fantastic group. I can not recommend them highly enough.

Dzięki nim, poznaliśmy miasto z zupełnie innej perspektywy, zarówno poprzez historię jak i smaczki, których prawdopodobnie nigdy sami byśmy nie odkryli. My husband and I did the Morning walking tour with Pedro on February 18th. Oh my goodness! He was the best and so funny. He really knew his stuff and made it a fun walk around the city. My favorite part though were the bathrooms he took us to ;) cleanest bathrooms ever! The chocolate cake at the end of the tour was the best! Highly recommend this tour!

A friend and I were in Porto for 3 days and did 2 tours with Porto Walkers. Both were fantastic! The first was a morning walking tour (free and tip-based) to see the city and learn the history. Our guide, Pedro, was great! The second tour we did was a port wine tour that included three house visits and lots of port! I thought the knowledge provided and the amount of wines we were able to taste was great for the price ($25 tour fee). Our guide, Alex, was also fantastic. I would book again based on two back-to-back wonderful experiences. Thank you!

Porto Walkers is lit as hell, we had so much fun and went around town. We been through some super good wine spots and later we went to a pubcrawl. Our guide was this turkish guy named Sahen? He was a really cool dude and very knowledgeable about how to read and entertain you the best way possible. Next year I'll be vising Porto again with my buds and totally gonna choose y'all. Cheers

Hey guys it was super funny to join tours with Porto walkers. Don’t missunderstanding cuz i said tours cuz they even make night tours in clubs and bars. They don’t have such a limit for fun and even they have crazy guides who has no limits. Thanks everybody from day tour and thanks especially our night guide Sahin. That guy has no limits about fun even he has a shameless point tattoo on his arm. I recommend PORTO WALKERS!

I'm calling for fun-loving friends. Join the Porto Walkers tours. With the people who know how to satisfy our wonder, we've pushed the limit of fun. We made wine tour, city tour all tours of Porto Walkers. We could’t get seperated fom them. Even night we made pubcrawl which is like night tour in bars and clubs. The bars were nice to visit. It was perfect to meet different kinds of music and people. Especially the crazy Sahin that entertains us, thank you, you are the perfect man. You made fun of our fun.

It was so good experience for me, my all life. in just one day I had city trip and wine trip which was so amazing. I think Porto is better with Porto Walkers. And Porto Walkers is better with Sahin. Great experience doing the wine tour with this company. Rita was doing a great job as tour guide! It was entertaining as well as educational. You'll learn about the history as well as about wine drinking in general.
I can also recommend the Pub Crawl with Porto Walkers. Especially Martha was a great guide there!

My husband and I decided to book the Port wine tour and we absolutely loved it! It was SO much fun, first we got to learn about the history of the port wine, we went to a cellar and we got a lot of information and we got to ask questions. Then, we started the wine tasting, we tasted two wines at the first location, then we went to another cellar and we tasted another type of wine, then, at the 3rd location, we tasted 4 more port wines and we also had access to the roof top of a restaurant with a splendid view over the city! Our guide David was so knowledgeable and nice, we had the most amazing time and I am so glad that we did this tour!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! My girlfriend and I were told about this tour when we were visiting Sintra and after checking out the reviews, we knew we had to do it. Not only was the group fun but the information from our Tour Guide, Nuno, was priceless! So knowledgeable and friendly, it was such a fantastic experience. If you're visiting Porto, you NEED to sign up for this tour. If you don't, you're going to spend a lot more time trying to get a fraction of the experience.

conocer un nuevo lugar, es conocerlo con gente local, y esa es la bonita experiencia que hemos vivido al lado de David, nuestro guía. Nosotros lo hicimos en inglés, aunque también es posible hacerlo en español (de lo que tengo entendido). Son alrededor de 2,3 horas de recorrido, se pasan rapidísimo! Porto tiene mucho que descubrir y ver. Hemos tenido un gran guía, una bonita experiencia y sin duda es muy recomendable.

Nunca había realizado un tour de estas características y me gustó. En inglés pero muy accesible para todo el mundo. Vimos lugares interesantes y las explicaciones estaban llenas de anécdotas que hacían todo mucho más entretenido. Incluye paradas para descansar y el guía fue muy amable y atento. Luego puedes aportar el dinero que consideres adecuado. Repetiré este tipo de experiencias en otras ciudades.

Was he great? He was absolutely amazing, funny! & most importantly very knowledgable.
Oh did I tell you, he’s an actor! So yea you will experience Porto in pretty fun way.
I have done a number of walking tours but Porto Walkers has clearly changed my perception about these 'Free' tours, let me break it down for you :
To start with, I only did the morning walking Tour but they do have other tours as well
1) Introduction : Daniel started with Introduction among the group just to facilitate interaction among us.
2) Well - Organized : We all know walking tours can be long but the well planned route and interesting way to incorporate the past & the now kept us on our toes.
3) Passion : Now many times, the guides might be knowledgeable but the passion shown by Porto Walkers is recommendable.
5) Are all “Free walking tours” free? No, because they are all TIP based tours.
All walking tours I’ve been have either mentioned about the tip before they start the tour or while they are giving the tour.
Amazingly, Daniel didn’t mention it even once! (its either he forgot – lol! Or as I feel, he was genuine )
So guess what, everyone gave TIP generously...
I definitely recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Daniel as your guide, Enjoy

I did the morning walking tour of Porto with Daniel. This is a well-organized, thoughtful tour that incorporates the history and current events and people who have made the city what it is today. Drawing on vast knowledge and humor (plus a background in theater), Daniel gave us a solid understanding of Porto in a memorable and highly entertaining way. He also encouraged and facilitated interaction among the group, which led myself and 5 other solo travelers on the tour to get lunch and explore the city afterwards. This was a truly great tour! I did two free walking tours with the porto walkers in Porto and both of them were great. The first one was a historical tour, which was very interesting and not nearly boring. Our tour guide (Mafalda) did a great job of telling us the history of Porto in a great way, we also did role-plays, which were so much fun. The second tour was great too, we went to other parts of the city and got some insider knowledge on J.K.Rolling and on wine + many other topics. So I totally recommend on doing a tour with them!

I have done many free walking tours around Europe but this is the first time I’m compelled to write a review because this really is (like our guide Pedro claimed) the best one ever! Since it’s not part of the “chain” I felt that the tour is so much more authentic covering cultures/ history/ politics etc. Highly suggest you do both the morning and later afternoon tour but especially the morning one for Pedro will bring you to THE best local dessert place. He’s very considerate in making sure we’re always in the sun or gets to sit on stairs because these tours can easily last 4 hours! The viewpoints Pedro brought us to are also breathtaking. This is a must do in Porto!

We went with V on the classic tour through Porto and it was amazing! Altough the weather was a bit rainy, he managed to keep everyone in a great mood and showed us Porto's hidden jewels and historical sites with great explanations and a lot of fun. At the end of the tour we got his personal restaurant recommendations which we promptly followed. It was a great experience and we enjoyed the tour very much. Would definitly walk again with V!

Speedy Gonzales was an excellent guide, we really enjoyed the afternoon tour with him. We spent 11 days in Porto and after being in the city for 4-5 days, he could still tell us stories we haven't heard before. He took us to some of our bucket list sights. And introduced the local life in a fun way. As a tourguide myself, I can tell,it really was a nice tour!The food recommendation was just perfect!We have eaten all over the city and found easily really good places,but the price-quality rate was the best where our guide recommended!

Daniele is an actor, and also a person with strong ethical views, and this was a great combination to have on our historical walking tour of old Porto on Saturday 28th December. Despite the unexpected crowds of tourists, Porto Walkers coped well, putting us into smaller groups with staggered starts so we did not collide! And really his tour was excellent, very informative and it included a great cake treat at the end. Going back to see the sites more slowly on Monday, I think I saw them differently thanks to the walking tour.

Honestly the best walking tour my family and I (who have done many between us through Europe) have been on. We were lucky enough to have Daniel as our guide, and I worry that now every future guide I have will pale in comparison. Daniel is extremely knowledgeable, energetic, and happy to go above and beyond to be kind and offer recommendations for the city. If you don’t go on this tour you will surely be missing out on a great way to explore Porto.

My husband and I went for this three hour free walk in Porto town centre, led by the lovely, enthusiastic Daniel and loved every minute of it! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and was keen to share his love for the city with us via his various tales of its history. The walk was at a very leisurely pace, but still covered all the major central sites, and we even stopped for a snack of lovely chocolate cake at a local home bakery. In summary, we highly recommend this walk to anyone who may visit Porto in the future, even if it's just for a day.

Did a 3 hour Port drinking walking tour. Which turned into 4+ hours. That’s not a complaint but a compliment to our guide who was so passionate about sharing his knowledge of the industry. He allowed us time in various places to savour the wine tastings. He connected with every individual on the tour and ended up extending the tour privately for a few us who wanted more. This is a very good way to get educated on Port, it’s history and sample some wonderful examples.

Free walking tour starts at 10.45 at Praça da Liberdade, in front of the statue of PedroIV. Our tour guide was well informed about the city, its history and has shown us the place from different perspective. Enthiusasm he has shown and the atmosphere that he created among the tourers was exquisite. In 1 minute he transformed a group of complete strangers to tourers watching each others backs and eating chocolate cakes together. Daniel, the actor, is a right man in the right place, every story he shared was told with passion. We felt welcomed and 3 hours was just enough to see the most interesting places.

Did the normal free walking tour and loved it. Fiel is a one man show that is not to be missed, he gave a good overview about the city and Portugal's histroy.
He gave us also a list with recommendations where to eat... My problem with this was that his recommendation for the best Nata in town was true. The Natas of Manteigaria were perfect and I will never be able to eat Natas anywhere else again without being slightly disappointed. Thanks!

Four of us took a 6 hour private tour with Ciril. He was absolutely brilliant. Not only does he tell you a detailed history of Porto and Portugal, but he provides insight to the people, places, and events that help you understand the Portuguese people and how this beautiful country become what is. We visited a many of the landmarks in central Porto, ate a wide variety of foods and drank several wines during our trip. Ana was very helpful setting up an itinerary that was customized to what we wanted to see and do. This wasn’t inexpensive, but worth every cent. I highly recommend it.

Could only recommend this fantastic tour! At first eager to get great views of the city, which is the point of these tours and which was perfectly delivered, we were blown away by the fantastic people who gave the tour, high energy, passionate and keen to share the global history like the smallest anecdotes about their country and porto as well as the local Portuguese people. We did first the tour in the morning (10.45, go there at 10.35) for the east part of the city that covered the 12th until 19th century with V, an actor and clown (which made the tour very enjoyable) and porto Walker. We were made aware of a tour in the afternoon (15.30) that would cover more contemporary Portugal, from the 19th till 21st century, which we did, with lovely, passionate and down to earth Maria, who made a point of showing us how the locals live and shared with us all sorts of very interesting facts about Portugal and porto
Porto walkers have a lot of competition with other tour guides, we haven't tried others, but there is really no need to try others cause I don't think you can top that. Go for it!

Both were really worth it! You get to see a lot of Porto from different views and many stories about the place. I went on their free walking tour, very informative. However, my issue was with their pub crawl. I've gone on their pub crawl in other cities, and had a great time.
My wife and I booked their Porto pub crawl through their website, and was charged 17 Euros per person. Upon arrival, the guide was charging other 12,50 Euros. When questioned, he was confused at first, then said it was probably because of online fees. When I emailed Pancho tours, their response was the price can go up or down willy nilly. Save yourself some Euros and just show up.
The pub crawl was pretty good overall, the guides seemed overwhelmed by the number of people that showed up (about 25). A bit disorganized as they weren't giving 9ut wristbands or anything, and by the end I'm pretty sure about 5 people snuck into our group.

So, are you planning a visit to Porto and you do not know what places to visit?
I had the same problem and by accident I choose Portowalkers. Their walking tour started at a better time than the others. However, This was one of the best accidents I made in my life. I started with one tour but when I left Porto. I did almost all the tours Porto Walkers had to offer.
If you go to the tours, talk with the guides. Do not be shy, they will tell you a lot of stories and they even will give you the best places to visit. They really want you to have a good time in Porto
As a fellow traveler, I will give you a guide to what tours you should do with Porto walkers:
1. Classical walking tour: It is a tour where you learn about the history of Porto and Portugal. We had an amazing tour guide named Nuno. I still think that he is a Hollywood actor in disguise.
I also had a pleasure of meeting V., who is also doing the classical walking tour. both of them told us amazing stories after the tour.
2. Wine tasting tour: Margarida, that girl has soul. She has amazing stories about the whine, the producers and also just her personal experiences.
3. Lifestyle tour: Speedy, a Portuguese who can speak Dutch! That man is amazing. The stories he told was from its own experiences. He is like the history teacher we all wanted but never got.
4. Pubcrawl: One of the best-organized pub crawl I have ever been. Even when there are problems. For instance, During the pub crawl, we were not allowed inside in some places( because it was to crowded). But the team leader (sorry I forget her name), immediately came with a solution and we went to a other place. And the party went on and almost nobody knew that it happened.

very good, informative, quide showed us really things like - train station, which I would have never visited on my own + Church Of St Francis and was really beautiful and also visited Teresa - she bakes many different cakes, definitely very good chocolate cake. Guide born originally in Bordeaux gave us many useful tips where to eat traditional sandwiches and also Pasteiz de Nata.

Their tours are really good, me and my friends did basically all their tours, with different guides, like Nuno, Gonzalo, Margarita and more, all of them with a unique style, so for every individual there is something to do and to enjoy. The tours are really build for every age and the guides explain every part of of the city, if it is a monument or just history, in a unique way.

Our guide Gonzalo (aka Speedy Gonzales) was terrific, and had a great balance of random stories & tidbits, while giving the group time to explore a bit on our own, ask questions & make friends. Would highly recommend, especially if it's your first day in Porto and you don't want to get lost (or already have :P ).
As others have said, there is no set price, and can choose to tip as much or as little as you want.

Even though the walks say free the guides expect some money. Fair enough after doing 30 minutes of the 2 hour walk we decided to leave as the guide Vino was boring. Handed him some euros but he seems to be demanding more. We were shocked.
I said to him we should have gone for a professional paid walk tour rather than to pay him for unprofessional and boring walk

After going on amazing free walking tours in other cities, we were very disappointed by Porto Walkers' tour. Our guide, V, spent too much time trying to be funny and no time giving us actual facts about the city. He would go on and on about inconsequent things (e.g. how expensive the coffee is in Cafe Majestic), while not elaborating (or really giving any detail) about the history of the city. We hung on for as long as we could, but half way through we ended up leaving as we simply were not having fun or learning anything interesting. I could imagine that other guides are better, but after our experience I would recommend trying another free walking tour.

I did both of the free tours on my day in Porto. The morning with Anna and the afternoon with Speedy Gonzalez. They were both enthusiastic and knowledgeable and I really enjoyed them! Would highly recommend touring with them if you want to learn more about Porto and see some amazing views.

Sergio was very knowledgeable, and took us to all the important places while explaining the history and context of what we were seeing in the front.
He also had amazing recommendations that didn't feel like he was pushing for commissions. Very forthcoming and honest.

Based on the experience of our first tour, we booked a further two tours of this fine city.
The guides were friendly, personable, informed, professional and passionate about their city.
The tours are free with a request for a donation (the guides are all freelance) and we were very happy to donate.
Porto Walkers is a small, locally based, business facing competition from bigger operators that have come into the market. We formed the strong opinion that what the organistion lacked in size, it made up for in commitment.

I took the 10:45 tour with Sergio which was great! He showed us all the good views and shared so many interesting facts about the city and the history. He even took us to get dessert (which was made in heaven I kid you not). Very much worth your time!

Der Tour-Guide war sehr erfahren und konnte viel über die Stadt erzählen. Er erschuf eine sehr direkte und persönliche Beziehung zwischen den Teilnehmern und ihm. Er nutzte die Nationalitäten der Teilnehmer und brachte die Geschichte Portos auf eine witzige Art und Weise rüber.

I reserved the Port Wine tasting on june 22nd and it was okay except for the fact that the tour guide from Porto Walkers that was with us was super rude to the lady that worked in the cellar and kept trying to explain to us everything about the Port Wine. She kept on telling her to shut up “we just want to get to the fun part and drink it” and telling us: sorry I know she talks too much and it is sooo boring.
This made me really uncomfortable and cut our tour short because she couldn’t finish explaining everything she wanted to say so we didn’t learn as much.
I think it’s obvious that if someone signs up for a port wine tour, is because they want to learn about it. If we wanted just to drink and get drunk, we wouldn’t sign up for the tour.
Too bad because this seems like a great tour but they should definitely evaluate better their tour guides because it’s super rude that she had this attitude with the wine-cellar workers.

Excellent walk tour nas Porto wine tasteing! My walk tour guide was Daniel, he's an amazing person and a fantastic guide. If you are in Porto, don't waste your time go meet them in Praça da Liberdade in front of the statu of King Peter IV. In the afternoon, go and spend few hours tasteing same excellent selection of Porto wine. My guide was Ana Vargas and she was incredible! She took us to 3 great wine cellars where we had a great time talking, joking and meeting the others travellers.

We took the walking tour in order to learn more about Porto and it worked. We were in Ana's group and she is really great. I usually get the Hop on and Hop off tours but as the reviews were not good for the city of Porto, I decided to take this walking tour. I did both the morning tour and the evening lifestyle tour in one day. It was a really great way to get introduced to the city and its main landmarks, attractions, and the lifestyle of the people. I also would recommend it to those who want to build themselves a personal itinerary for the following day to go inside of the places and see them up close.
The tour leaders, Mariana and Pedro were both very knowledgeable, funny, and kind.

Gonzalo (Speedy Gonzales) hat uns bei der Nachmittagstour sehr viel ueber den Wandel der Stadt Porto erzaehlt ("Vom haesslichen Entlein zum schoenen Schwan").
Aufgrund seiner vielen Auslandserfahrung im europaeischen Raum, war er zu jedem Teilnehmer sehr aufgeschlossen -aber nicht aufgringlich-und sprach sehr gut englisch, so dass man ihn sehr gut verstehen konnte.
Jeder konnte ihm Fragen zu allem Moeglichen in Porto und Portugal i.A.stellen, ob Restaurants, Surfspots in Portugal oder andere Themen.
Es gab auch viel zu lachen, da er die Tour sehr humorvoll gestaltete.
Er erzaehlte jedoch auch sehr aktuell von den sog. Schattenseiten der Gentrifizierung Portos und der Entwicklung des urbanen Wohnens bzw. Raumes in Porto bzw. die Folgen fuer die Einwohner Portos sowie die schnelle Entwicklung Portos im Bereich der Touristik.
Die Tour behandelte Orte in der Altstadt.
Die Tour endete mit Insidertipps zu den besten Restaurants (allg. und vegetarisch) und den Mentaelitaeten der Wirte bzw Portugiesen i.A. und ferner zu Sehenswuerdigkeiten, die nicht Teil des Stadtrundgangs waren.
Fazit:
Wer eine sehr authentische Tour ueber Porto, seine Geschichte und dessem Wandel, seine Leute -und ueber gute Insidertipps-erfahren moeche, ist diese Tour sehr zu empfehlen!!!

I highly recommend this company for both the free walking tour and the wine tour.
They offer two free walking tours - the historical one (which goes through the older city center) and the lifestyle tour (which mostly goes through the area around the city center). I personally went to the historical one and thought that it was full of interesting Portuguese history and went through the major parts of the city center.
I also went on their port wine tour (which ran around 25 euros when I went) and would highly recommend it as well if one does not want to take a day trip out to the Douro Valley for wine tasting. We had the port wine at three different locations (one of which doubled as a museum as well), and the rooftop bar at the end had a spectacular view of the city and the coast. The tour consisted of the four main types of port wine (white, ruby, tawny, and the new rosé), which made for an excellent port wine tasting experience.

Excellent walking tour despite the rain apocalypse weather we had! Nounou (am I spelling that right??) was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, friendly, and charming giving a great tour of Porto for our big group of diverse people. When the rain started to really pour, he tried to keep us in covered shelters giving us as many explanations as he could before taking us through an area. He really knows his stuff and how to talk to anyone. He gave us some suggestions of places he recommends we go to for various things like food, nightlife, etc. and helped me almost book a tour later that afternoon but I couldn't make it in the end. Porto Walkers offers two unique types of tours and they're truly run by locals who love to show their city to visitors. I signed up for the culture tour but unfortunately didn't make it in time -- wish I did though,

Me and 6 friends took the free walking tour through Porto, and it was just perfect for us. The guide, Nuno, walked us through the narrow streets of Porto, gave us some very interesting insights in the Portuguese culture and local life and showed us some truly amazing places. Our guide was Daniel - The actor. It was so much fun to see the city and to hear his version of the history. We walked through streets we wouldnt have seen without the portowalkers. We made a little stop at a tiny bakery. It was 1,50€ per dessert. Give it definitly a try!!! 5 Stars for portowalkers!

Highly recommended! I normally dislike super touristy things like guided walks but since travelling with my parents I found myself on one and was a most positively surprised! Daniel was super fun, entertaining and informative guide, true actor blood running through his vains. Three hours went very quickly and it's not your typical boring guided walk even though in a traditional sense contains all the information of Porto history etc but the guides differ with their enthusiasim and sincerity.

"Speedy Gonzales" gave us the best walking tour in years! Humurous, witty, and enthusiastic sums up the whole of his tour. Imagine a rainny day, all wet and yet all of his tour members still brave through and completed the route with him. He was generous in sharing and suggesting local food places, and places to visit. Made learning so easy for us by injecting jokes and fun along the way. Loves his entire expression and body language when he describes anything. The Classic Free Walking Tour around Porto was the best way we could imagine to get around Porto. We highly recommend doing the tour on your first or second day in Porto. You will get an almost complete overview over the town and lots of super interesting stories about Porto. Loved it!

Did both tours, the one in morning with Daniel and the one in the afternoon with "Speedy Gonzales". Both were great and the guides make the tour really entertaining. It's also a good way to meet fellow travelers.
The activity is totally free but at the end most people end up giving a deserved donation.
Note that you're probably not going to get a deep understanding of the city's history, for that, books or an specialized guide would be better.

Haben die Nachmittags-Tour mit V gemacht, schön, mal einen anderen Teil der Stadt zu sehen und sehr viele Hintergrund Infos zu bekommen. Leider war es sehr kalt, dadurch waren die 3 Stunden irgendwann etwas lang, nichtsdestotrotz sehr empfehlenswert, unser Guide hatte eine tolle und humorvolle Art, die unglaubliche Menge an Fakten interessant rüberzubringen und es machte Spaß, ihm zuzuhören.

Wine tour: Fantastic value and great experience. Our guide Rakel was wonderful and made us all feel very comfortable. The tour was interesting, we learned all we needed being total beginners.
Walking tour with Daniel: the tours with Porto Walkers are generally longer than usual. But Daniel never bored us, and there is so much to learn about the city. You can feel the passion among the Porto Walkers team and their love for Porto. Great and fun, sometimes sad stories, Daniel - who's originally an actor - is one of the best guides I have ever encountered.

I visited Porto in Dec. 2017 and took the free walking tour with David, which was wonderful! The tour was fun and informative, and I really enjoyed strolling around Porto. I also did the port wine tour with Alex, which was wonderful as well -- lots of fun and full of delicious port. If you're visiting Porto, be sure to do a tour with Porto Walkers or you'll be missing out. :)

I've done many free walking tours around the world, and this one has been one of my best!
Nuno, our guide, was fantastic, energetic, funny, full of knowledge, interacted constantly with the group, and had all our attention for all of the 3 hours. He not only taught us history, but the stories of the people in Porto. Even took us for a wonderful piece of cake, and spend some minutes at the end of the tour with each one of us, to help us with our plans in the city. I thought 3 hours were going to be just too much, but time just flew by!

Had the afternoon (3:30 PM) free walking tour with Pedro.
The tour was excellent, Pedro's thorough knowledge as well as his personal observations contributed a lot to the tour.

I would give Like 100/5 :-D Best thing to attend when it comes to sightseeing in porto, our guide was really friendly, had good english and knew some secretes, i was on tour A, the historic one, they offer tour de wine bars, that máš Be cool

The best way to see Porto. Our guide was knowledgeable with a witty sense of humour. Take some cash as you'll be inspired to leave a big tip!

I did the walking tour with Ana and she was lovely and gave us lots of great information! It was good fun and she had many good recommendations and we were also able to get some delicious chocolate cake at the end!

I did the tour with Nuño, it was a great experience.
I also recommend the port tasting tour they do in the afternnon.

Amazingly amusing and informative your from Nanu and the guys at port walkers. The enthusiasm and knowledgeability of the guides are unmatched with all being local to Porto.
