We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Het concept van food sharing is leuk. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en heeft passie. Echt een avond genieten van lekker eten en goede wijn. Aanrader!

On the pricier side for a Portuguese restaurant but well worth it. Both the food and the service was excellent. We had the tastings menu which came with a wine pairing. They specialize in foods and wines from their local region.

Het menu bestaat ook hier uit voor en hoofdgerechten, maar ze stimuleren dat je de gerechten deelt. Dus je kiest samen één of twee voorgerechten en zo komen dan om de beurt. Zo kun je op je eigen bord genieten van de gerechten. En genieten dat zul je zeker, want ze maken de gerechten echt heel erg lekker klaar. Het mag dan duurder zijn dan je misschien gewend bent in Portugal, maar ik weet zeker dat je geen spijt krijgt als je hier gaat eten.

Muito boa comida. Pedi o couvert e o peixe do dia e estava tudo muito saboroso. Boa textura nos vegetais e contraste inteligente entre o peixe e o purê de beterraba. A indicação do vinho foi muito boa. O ambiente é muito agradável. Só fiquei com vontade de escutar jazz ao invés do repertório de pop internacional. Mas isso é apenas uma idiossincrasia. Recomendo.

Walking around Evora it was tempting to sit at one of the outdoor cafes for dinner but we saw the sign for Origens and I recalled seeing their good reviews so we decided to check it out... and we were so glad we did!! It is a small restaurant down a side street with a beautiful brick arched ceiling. We opted for the 'trust the chef' menu which is a 5 course dinner with wine pairings. Every dish was delicious and we found ourselves amicably debating which dish was better. From shrimp to lamb to sea bass each stood out. The chef Goncalo came to the table to present the main dishes. He was both friendly and unassuming and we enjoyed our conversation. If you are debating where to go with all the choices in Evora and want a unique experience I highly recommend this one!

Dined at this restaurant last night and it was first class. Delicious food - a welcome variation to the standard "Traditional" fare found in many Portuguese restaurants. The service was first class as well. Can't believe there weren't more people there. The restaurant itself is small, quiet and nicely decorated. Highly recommended.

We have dined at a lot of restaurants in Canada, US, and Europe. This small restaurant was spectacular. We've spent an entire week in Portugal and were blown away by the dinner, wine and almost as importantly, the service with personal touch. It absolutely blew away any meal we had. This will be hard to beat.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences we've had anywhere. Top notch food in a relaxed, welcoming environment. We went for the 5 course tasting menu, and it was worth every penny. The dishes were locally sourced, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious; the wine pairings equally so, and they were so thoughtful to come up with creative non-alcoholic pairings for a member of our group. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! A huge "thank you" and "congratulations" to Chef Gonçalo Quelroz & his team.

Das beste Essen das wir bis jetzt in Portugal gegessen haben gibt es hier. Es ist fantastisch und das Dessert eine Creation des Chefs war ein wahrer Gaumentraum! Wir würden immer wieder hier her kommen. Man bekommt wirklich das beste für sein Geld.

Amazing food! Traditional Portuguese fusion food cooked to perfection by the chef. The 'À Brás de Farinheira' or the vegetarian option 'À Brás de Espargos' are stunning dishes. If you are looking for a marvelous food experience you definitely need to go to Origens!

Fui a este restaurante por acaso.
A comida e muito boa mas em relação á quantidade a meu ver e má. O pão que veio para dois foram quatro fatias de 8x8cm, o prato pedi para alterar para vir com arroz porquê necessitava de comer hidratos em quantidade e o arroz que veio não tinha muita qualidade e muito muito pouco.
Os preços são exagerados para o que se come.
Quem tiver fome não recomendo ir a este local.

Miejsce ratuje bardzo dobra kuchnia i Pani kelnerka, która zna się na winach. Restauracja wspomniana przez przewodnik Michelin. Warto przyjść po lekkim lunchu. Szef kuchni zna tylko angielski i portugalski, pozostałe języki na świecie to dla niego rosyjski. Cóż, duma kroczy przed upadkiem. Do gwiazdki brakuje pokory.

Most impressed with the personal attention received from the chef and sommelier! So knowledgeable and they explained the history of all the wines and food they served. A must to do in Evora!

Restaurante normal com adição de um certo toque contemporâneo nos pratos. Entradas satisfatórias na apresentação e no palato tais como o Brás de Alheira ou de Espargos. Nos principais nada a destacar, precisando o polvo de melhoria de confeção tanto na textura como no sabor pouco acentuado do próprio e um Naco de Vitelão a necessitar de tratamento culinário mais apurado. Preços demasiado elevados, face à qualidade grastonómica apresentada.

Absolutely outstanding experience from the food to the setting to the service. The shrimp in particular is a must have but make sure you get some bread to soak up the delicious sauce. A must do if you're in Evora!!!

We popped in here for lunch during our visit to Ėvora and were asked if we had reservations. We didn't, but they were able to move some tables around to make room for us. Boy were we glad they did. Food was stupendous. They source as many of their ingredients locally as possible, which means their menu changes with the growing seasons. They have a talented chef and a whole team of support people in the kitchen, all for a restaurant that seats maybe 20 people. Each dish was explained as it was served. In short, excellent staff and excellent food, if you can get a table

The food was fantastic. I recommend two appetizers and two mains or some combination of four dishes when defining for two. Even the bread,olive and carrot plate was really good. The scallops were sensational, the pear appetizer was exquisite, and the lamb was well worth the wait. Call ahead to make sure they have space. We sat at the back which was pretty cool, we got to watch them prepare the dishes with care and precision. It added to the overall experience of the meal.

Para restaurante em pleno centro histórico de Évora com nome Origens na sua ementa nada tem de sabores e receitas alentejanas.... também de lamentar entrada de 2 casais numa sala vazia, ambos sem reserva, 1 português outro estrangeiro, o estrangeiro escolhe a mesa 0 português é sentado numa mesa distinta das outras sem toalha apenas com individuais. Triste.... classifico com duas estrelas apenas porque ainda houve a tentativa de alguma simpatia por parte dos empregados

Schönes kleines Restaurant in der Altstadt von Évora. Die Küche spezialisiert auf regionale Gerichte. Der Service ist persönlich und kompetent. Es werden auch komplette Menüs angeboten. Gute Auswahl an regionalen Weine. Reservierung wird empfohlen, da das Restaurant klein ist. Dessert "Überraschung des Chefs" auch sehr lecker. Ich habe um eine Empfehlung für ein "Moscatel de Setúbal" gebeten, der Chef hat mir persönlich 2 Varianten des Dessertweins zur Auswahl vorgestellt - die Qualität war herausragend. Preise sind gehoben aber nicht übertrieben. Wenn in Évora, dann lohnt sich definitiv ein Besuch hier.

Restaurante localizado en la zona trasera de la catedral. Encontrado por casualidad tras no poder cenar en otros por tener la cocina cerrada y ... oh! Sorpresón y de las buenos.
El chef se llama Goçalo Queiros y a fecha de hoy está postulando a una estrella Michelín. Con esto ya lo digo todo... Pedimos una dorada con crema de patata dulce y un plato de caza ( llamadme loco...) concretamente jabalí con patata reducida con vino tinto. Le dá una vuelta completamente al concepto de cocina portuguesa. Platos ricos, sabrosos, nuevos, cantidades justas pra poder disfrutar de entrantes y postres (en carta ademas de tabla de quesos y fruta de temporada, aconsejo la recomendación del chef en nuestro caso era una galleta con naranja y algo entre helado y una crema de citricos sencillamente espectacular. Muy buena carta de vinos con opcion en muchos de ellos de disfrutar del que te guste en formato de una copa. Infusion de canela, muy buena y una vica como no pdia ser de otra forma. Personal correcto, atento y profesional. Precios tirando a alto. Unos 30-40 € por persona. Caro? para nada teniendo en cuenta que es mas que probable que pronto (espero) en la entrada podremos ver una estrella Michelin. Obligado si se va a Évora.

We wandered in off the street and we were in for a surprise! This was the best food of our trip so far, truly exceptional quality and preparation, clever flavor combinations, and very good service. They were very accommodating of my food allergy. Definitely worth a stop.
