What a wonderful place! These guys know what they are talking about and make the port tasting experience even more unique than the over-populated cellars. We loved trying ports from smaller producers. The small plates were also a perfect pairing. I can't wait to go back someday!

Abbiamo trovato questo locale per caso passeggiando per Porto..in questo posto molto molto carino offrono degustazioni di porto con vari step : 2 assaggi 4, 6 e cosi' via, mettendo a scelta tra vini giovani e meno (noi abbiamo degustato vini da giovani fino ad arrivare a 30 anni d'invecchiamento) spiegato dettagliatamente dallo staff (gentilissimo peraltro)...il tutto servito da bei taglieri misti...

Magnifique bar à porto où nous y avons dégusté 6 portos très différents. Nous acons été magnifiquement bien conseillés par l'une des serveuse et en français! Le patron est français et nous a également apporté quelques compléments d'information très utiles concerant la manière de déguster les portos.

We stopped in for a port wine tasting and had the best time! Our server was super informative and friendly. We had a few tapas as well and they were all delicious (sardines, cheeses, nuts and fruit). A must do for Porto!

We wanted to go to a tasting at a winery &cellar place, accros the river, earlier today. We changed our minds when we saw how smug they were and decided on this place to get the opportunity to drink various ports, from multiple producer.
What a wonderful choice it was. The people there are very nice and they know a lot. They answered all our questions.
All in all, we had a great experience.

Belle découverte des portos avec un large choix de dégustations (les blancs, tawny ou Ruby ou les 3 et ensuite par années....etc). Pensez à acheter ici plutôt que online car les prix sont bien moins chers dans la boutique à Porto.

Un excellent lieu de dégustation de Porto avec des serveurs (parlant français) extrêmement aimables et passionnés de nous apprendre l'histoire du Porto. Le cadre est également très agréable.

My husband had been talking about this place since we arrived in Portugal, having been there 4 years prior. We did a very extensive Port wine tasting of all families and different ages. Great place for tasting many different kinds of Port from the smaller craft wineries. Great and knowledgeable service, we bought some bottles to also take home.

Near the waterfront in the city center this Portologia can be found. Friendly people, speaking fluent English, with knowledge on the topic serve multiple types of port. There port selection is based on quality so often unknown brands. The port was accompanied with some nice meat and cheese.

Une dégustation au top !
Pour une première visite à Porto, la dégustation est un passage obligé !
L'équipe à été très accueillante, chaleureuse et nous a permis d'apprécier et d'en apprendre plus sur l'histoire de cet alcool.
La premier tasting (possibilité de partager) débute à 10€ et permet de déguster 3 verres.
Julien, le gérant était très amical et nous a précisé que l'enseigne est également présente à Paris et propose des soirées fado notamment :)

Fabulous place to taste a huge variety of Port wine. Exceptionally knowledged staff that speaks multiple languages (French, English, and Portuguese when we were there). We went back to this spot 3 times during our week in Porto.

I was surprised by how quiet the shop was inside despite how crowded the street was. They are very attentive and knowledgeable about port wines. A good place to drop in for an hour or so.

Had a lovely wine tasting here and discovered how much I love port wine. The servers were very welcoming of questions and made great recommendations on what would be good to try. It's a small place, but doesn't feel crowded.

We went in with no knowledge of Port and didn't have time to go to a cellar, so we stopped in here. I'm glad we did because we ordered a few tastes, and we also got a nice explanation of the types and backgrounds of each. They answered all of our questions and were very nice.

Experiência gira, vinhos óptimos. Paga-se bem por 30ml. Deixam as garrafas na mesa e se o clinte quiser beber mais 30ml chama a empregada por sinal, muito engraçada. Bulas 20 anos twain, muito bom, 11 euros.

Génial! 2 visites 2 jours de suite. Très bien accueillis! Dégustation très goûteuse en tenant compte de nos avis!!! Nous avons ramenés un porto blanc de 10 ans d'âge qui a fait l'unanimité mais pas longtemps du coup! Va falloir y retourner!!!

Shared the 8 port tasting between 2. The young lady gave us an excellent explanation of the different kinds of port. Also tried the cheese and jam, which was very yummy. Great music too!

Probamos la tabla de quesos, y varios vinos Rubí de la casa (Heritage). Estaban deliciosos, a un precio justo, y la atención fue exquisita. El camarero nos explicó la madurez, barricada, y varios detalles sobre los vinos que probamos. Probad la mermelada de calabaza . Muy recomendado.

Portologia propose plusieurs formules de dégustation de vins de Porto, a des prix très corrects. Un membre de l'équipe vous sert et vous présente chaque vin, explique son histoire et la façon dont il est fait.
Un service au top, et une expérience que je recommande !

Génial ! Si vous n'avez pas le temps, pas l'envie ou pas les moyens de visiter les #caves, c'est une excellente alternative. L'accueil est chaleureux, lors des #dégustations on prend le temps de nous expliquer l'histoire du #Porto, les différences, comment le déguster, etc.
Bref, une super expérience du début à la fin (alors que nous ne sommes absolument pas connaisseurs). Le tout pour un prix très correct par rapport au service apporté !
Je recommande aussi la planche de fromage pour accompagner les Porto en dégustation :)

Buena cata con alimentos pero los alimentos se pagan aparte y resulta demasiado caro al final. Las porciones de vino las miden con pinzas como si fuwrm de oro. El chico que atendió demasiado pesado y sin interés . No sé si regrese .

You can choose from lots of cellars if you want a vine tasting in Porto. Portologia is one of them. It is an interesting program, with nice and unique vines. The staff was polite, but I think this tasting is a bit overpriced.

My wife and I wanted to purchase some bottles of wine to enjoy at our apartment and stopped in. The young woman was welcoming and helped with the red wine and advised against any of the whites. The port tastings are their specialty and great care is taken to explain each glass. We asked about a shop where we could purchase cheese and bread and she gladly pointed across the street to a small shop. Great service and great attitude.

No tour, but an excellent explanation of port and excellent selection as well. You get a much better choice what you want to drink too! They have some small food plates which makes things a little more balanced. Small place so you might have to wait a bit with larger groups. Would definitely recommend this place to those who want to get a better understanding of types and quality of ports that are available.

Es un sitio para degustar vinos, más que para beberlos en cantidad. Las copas son escasas y por ello un poco caras (basicas 4€ y reserva 5€), pero es una buena opción para conocer varios tipos de vinos típicos de oporto y decidirte por alguno que te quieras llevar una botella, te las venden allí mismo. Tienes la posibilidad de pedir el vino por copas o por catas. Lo que te sirven para la cata es un solo trago. La atención fue buena.

If you want to know a little about port and be in the centre of town, this is a good choice. If you want to just drink good port, leave the centre and find a good local bar.

We got an English introduction into the different varieties of Port wine. There are multiple options on how many Ports you can taste (3 to 8 glasses, specialized in Tawny, Ruby and White, or a combination of these - for beginners the combination is recommended). We have choosen 8 different Ports from all families and paid 45 € for it, which wad reasonable. Only the price for the dry friuts was a bit off with s tiny portion of 3 different dried fruits. Also we were here during one of the hottest days and there was no AC, hence it was quite hot inside. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay here very much and learnt a lot about Port wines.

Un gran acierto. No fuimos a las bodegas del otro lado del río y no lo lamentamos un ápice. Gran variedad de catas a realizar en mesas individuales (por parejas, etc...) La de mi mujer 2 blancos y 2 tintos. La mía 4 blancos, 2 secos y 2 dulces. Ni que decir tiene que compartimos, nos lo pasamos en grande y luego compramos varios de esos vinos. Trato en castellano en la explicación de los vinos. También se puede tapear. Una sorpresa muy grata y muy recomendable.t

Had a really great time at this place. Went for the basic tasting of Port wines and expecting only wine, I was pleasantly surprised by getting some information about how these wines are made, their history and how is quality determined for each. It might be basic info but as I haven't been to cellar tour, it helped me appreciate the wine I was drinking. I didn't want to visit cellars because as I heard, it's more about the brand than wine itself. So this fully substituted that tour. I read other people complaining about quantities - it's wine tasting (of some very good wines). You get to chose if you want to taste or get regular glass of specific wine. They have different "menus" for each. Or just order a bottle like a group that was there if you really want to drink a lot. And the staff was just amazing. I was served by the young man and apart from the explanation (which wasn't monologue) I got to talk to him a bit while enjoying the wine. Overall, I have nice memory of this place and think that it was definitely worth the visit and money. Thank you!

No aconsejo para nada este lugar. Éramos tres: mi esposa, mi hijo y yo. Pedimos dos Oporto y un zumo de uva para mi hijo. El camarero nos vierte en las copas el vino, totalmente escaso, una cantidad ridícula tanto a mi esposa como a mí y nos deja junto a cada copa las botellas. Pensando que era una cata, se me ocurre verter un poquito más en la copa de ella y seguimos bebiendo. Al rato me vierto un poco más en la mía. En ese momento aparece el camarero como una exhalación y mientras coge de un salto las dos botellas sin mirarme siquiera y mientras huye hacia la barra dice: "señor se ha rellenado las copas y tengo que cobrarle otras dos más". Los tres nos miramos atónitos totalmente cortados. Le pido la cuenta y me trae 18,50€ de sablazo. Al pedir explicaciones, los dos camareros nos dan un discurso evidentemente muy repetido y bien aprendido sobre nuestro (y no tan nuestro, según reconocieron) gran error al tocar las botellas. Una gran trampa muy bien servida, mucho cuidado a los que decidáis ir a este sitio.

Went to this place hoping for a good port tasting experience and unfortunately ended up greatly disappointed.
The service was quite poor. A nice guy greeted us and took our order, forgetting of the 3 tapas that we ordered with the wine. Half way through our wine tasting asked him again and he said that he forgot. He asked us: “do you really, really want then now?”, which yes, we did, because we wanted some food with our remaining wine. However, I wish we took his advice and did not ask for them since what we got was not much at all. The cheese table came with 4 tiny slivers of 4 different types of cheese and same with the meat platter and each tapa cost 10€, which was definitely overpriced for the quantity and quality of the products. The honey bun was also small and costly.
The wine was nice, but also get prepared for a very small portion. The selection of port was reasonably good. The explanation given to us along with the wine been poured was ok.
The worst part was the poor service and the waiters seeming that they don’t care about their customers. We told them how dissatisfied we were and they didn’t acknowledge it or proactively attempted to make our experience better. A business like this should offer a much better customer service.

Lors de notre passage, l'accueil n'a pas été des plus chaleureux malgré que nous étions les seuls clients.. La quantité dans les verres étaient faible et nous avons pas été très conseillé sur les Porto à choisir, ceux ci était bon mais il y a mieux ailleurs.. En effet, je vous conseille d'aller plutôt au bar de dégustation ''Prova'' (proche de celui ci), les conseils sont meilleurs, les Porto de meilleur qualités et avec plus de quantité dans les verres.

Petit bar près d'une rue touristique, nous n'avons pas été très bien accueilli l'endroit était pourtant vide. Les portos étaient à notre goût moins bons qu'ailleurs ainsi que le service. Cela ne vaut peut être pas le détour préférez plutôt prova qui n'est pas très loin mais dont les conseils, la gentillesse des serveurs ainsi que leurs portos sont plus agréables pour une soirée.

Nice little place to try ports and have some nice bites on the side! We didn’t have time to do a full degustation, so we just had one kind of port and a cheese platter. We had great advice and information about the port, and also the cheeses were great. We came back two nights later and they remembered exactly which wines we had two days earlier, which shows a true interest in their clients!

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this place.
It was a dull day and we were in Porto, so port tasting indoors seemed like the obvious thing to do.
Chose this place based on reviews and location.
I’d have to say that we all left a little disappointed.
The whole thing seemed a little tired. The hosts appeared to have lost interest in explaining the nuances of port, possibly due to the repetitiveness of running such a business .
I would suggest doing some more research than we did and find somewhere that has more of a passion than this place, which seems to be making mileage from location alone.

This is a great bar for a port tasting and some snacks. We have dropped in here twice and have had a great experience both times. I’d recommend doing a port tasting experience with some cheese or chocolate. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly. This is the perfect pre- or post-dinner stop-off!

Tras unas horas recién llegada a Oporto y con breve paseo para visitar el Puente San Luis y la ribera, decidimos “merendar” y que mejor que unos buenos vinos acompañados de una tabla de quesos.
PLACERES!! Eran las 18:30. Que maravilla de sitio, y el camarero súper simpático. Nos asesoró sobre qué pedirnos, pero lo que no nos esperábamos es que luego nos iba a instruir y explicar cada vino, color y sabor... Al igual que nos dijo que vino debíamos tomar con cada tipo de queso.
Justo al lado había una pareja española y aprovechamos para intercambiar opiniones. Es más al día siguiente íbamos a visitar las bodegas Càlem y allí se lo recomendamos a dos parejas que no sabían muy bien donde ir a beber vino de la tierra.
Por 35€ disfrutamos de 6 tipos de vinos y una tabla de quesos con mermelada. Si vuelvo a Oporto volveré!!

Un pequeño local para comprar o catar vinos de oporto magníficamente. La chica que nos atendió (en español) fue muy atenta y nos contó cosas muy interesantes. En este lugar se pueden encontrar vinos de Oporto de pequeños productores, menos conocidos que las grandes bodegas que hay en la otra orilla del río Duero, pero no por ello de menos calidad, sino más bien al contrario.

일 하시는 분들이 매우 친절하세요. 웬만하면 글 잘 안남기는데 직원분들의 따뜻한 마음이 저를 동하게 만들었네요. 저는 이전에 마셨던 포르토 와인이 있냐고 여쭤봤는데 없지만 대신 같은 빈티지로 한 잔 마셨어요. 계산을 하면서 제가 마신 와인이 괜찮냐고 물으셔서 제 타입은 아니지만 좋았다라고 했는데 취향을 물으시고는 서비스로 제 취향에 맞을 와인을 맛볼 수 있게 해주셨어요.

Trotz nette Bedienung kann ich leider nicht mehr als einen Stern geben. Sehr hohe Preise für super kleine Portionen - einen Schluck zum Probieren. Das ist nich authentisch portugiesisch. In einer Bar sollte man was trinken können und nicht eine Probe machen, um dann was zu kaufen. Zum Kaufen geht man eher in einen Laden und nicht in einer Bar. Außerdem Musik zum Einschlafen. Schade. Eine Enttäuschung an einem schönen Abend. Mich wundern die vielen positiven Bewertungen.

Die Bedienung war freundlich und bemüht, Basisinformationen über Portwein in verschiedenen Sprachen. Große Auswahl an Weinen und Verkostungsmöglichkeiten. Allerdings eher kleine Portionen, vielleicht 0,03 l pro Einheit. Die Käse- und Wurstplatte gut, aber für 20 Euro übersichtlich.

This place is really worth a visit. Staff is friendly and know a lot about their products. The porto selection is vast and mainly compose of small winery that you probably won't find outside Portugal. We were able to taste some porto without paying for it because they knew we would buy a bottle anyway. Thanks to Gustave for the great comment with the tasting.

The place is nice quaint and had a good number of tasting options. With reasonable prices. The portions were a bit small as they were measure extremely carefully. Probably each taste was half the size of a shot glass. It was still worth the experience and the staff definitely make it a must see spot to try boutique porto.

Nos habían recomendado mucho hacer una cata en este lugar porque trabajan con pequeños productores locales pero el resultado ha sido decepcionante.
Las copas eran extremadamente escasas y la tabla de embutidos ibéricos era de supermercado barato. Cuando el camarero mayor, que nos había hecho la explicación, ha visto que no nos convencía y no queríamos nada más ha decidido ignorarnos a la hora de pagar. En conclusión, una trampa para turistas.

Vaste range of tasting packages, you can also have a tastings of cheese paired with your porto.
Staff is extremely knowledgeable and honest in the recommendations about which tasting is better to pick.
We did our tasting with Dominic, fun and engaging.
Porto was excellent! You can also try wines by the glass.
I would recommend this over all the other porto houses.

Assim, em cada copo foram vertidos perto de 5 centilitros (para menos), quantidade justa para prova mas insuficiente para bebida. Não sou turista.

다양한 포트와인을 시음해보기엔 좋겠지만 전체적으로 좋은점수를 주긴 어렵습니다.
주인장의 포트와인 설명은 그저 일반적인 (누구나 알고 있는) 포트와인에 대한 설명이고 각 잔당 와인은 30cc 줍니다. 30cc라니!! 약 9개의 와이너리 투어를 했는데 30cc주는 곳은 본 적이 없습니다. 게다가 가격은 터무니없이 비쌉니다. 분위기도 그저그런 식당과 다를바 없어서 와이너리에서 좋은 포트와인 한 병 구입해서 전망좋은 곳에서 마시는게 훨씬 현명합니다.
별 1개도 아깝네요.

Wir hatten ein kleines Wein-Tasting und dazu Schokolade und Käse. Die verschiedenen Weinsorten und der Ursprung des Portweins sowie seine Herstellung wurden uns geduldig und einfach verständlich erklärt. Das war toll. Der Käse war lecker, die Schokolade auch. Für Portwein-Neulinge eine echte Empfehlung. Man kann schnell verschiedene Sorten probieren und bekommt einiges erklärt.

Strangely our review from yesterday has disappeared. We visited the "house of port" based on Google reviews after visiting the Taylor's Port vaults and our favourite little Riverside cafe. Gutted to report that our experience here was dreadful. 30€ for a 6 port tasting rack with the most miserly amount of port possible. Out of the 2 whites, 2 tawnies and 2 rubies, nothing stood out at all. The LBV was so bad both my wife and I said all we smaller was meat and sulfites. None of the ports were from the premium Port houses in Porto. Did I mention the €5 for 3 small chunks of chocolate as an accompaniment? Absolute rip-off of a place. Do yourself a favour and go to a small cafe / restaurant and talk to the staff their and get a less corporate port education. Alternatively go the Taylor's Port tour and tasting - the port is much much tastier and better value. Our one rip-off experience in Porto.

We were excited about his place because its hard to find somewhere to taste many different vineyards in the same place. But it's way over priced. Cheapest tasting is 17€ for 5 tastes, which sounds nice but the pours are incredibly tiny, maybe shot each (1.5oz or 30ml) so you get 7.5oz or 150ml (two glasses of port) for 17€. The average tasting was more than 20€ for the same amount
You can get 4 full glasses on a cave tour for 10€ with a tour!

Maybe one of the ladies was having a bad day but I found we didn’t get treated very well. I got the “we don’t have the big names, maybe you want to go over the river” and “but why do you want to try the Colheita ports?”
The other lady serving us once the first grumpy one left was much nicer and helpful.

Staff is very friendly and wines are very good! Obviously chosen because of their quality and not because of their name. Not very cheap, but staff has good knowledge about port wines. English language skills are mixed. When you know which kinds of port wine you like and don't like, you can also change the standard tastings to something that is not offered in the standard menu. Only disadvantage is that the brands are not very well known and internation distribution is difficult / expensive.

Oltre gustare un calice di vino locale, è possibile effettuare delle degustazioni (da 3 o 6 calici) di diverse fascie di prezzo, aiutati nel percorso da uno staff molto cordiale pronto a dare spiegazioni sui vini offerti. Credo che durante una visita a Porto, anche per i meno preparati in tema di vini, sia una tappa indispensabile.

They have a knowledgeable staff here. Excellent spot for a tasting of ports. Many choices of smaller producing houses. Better than taking a cellar tour.

Comme la première fois ou j'y étais, c'est vraiment très bien. Nous avons essayé la dégustation à 6 verres. Les explications en sont français sont vraiment un plus très positifs. Et l'accueil agréable

Buen establecimiento para degustación de vino. Tiene una carta con varios precios en degustación. El trato es muy bueno, el camarero entiende del tema y habla en tu mismo idioma. El precio es moderado, aunque siendo un buen vino y degustando unos cuantos, no esta mal.

On our last day in Porto we went to Portologia to wine tasting and it was that cherry on top that we needed. We received a very warm welcome and by pure luck, my mom benefited from a presentation in Russian from Vasilii who speaks quite a few languages.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone !

Es perfecto para probar todos los tipos de vinos de Porto. El camarero te explica con esmero su elaboración, sus matices y diferencias y si quieres comprar vinos para llevar, es el lugar perfecto para primero probarlos. Las tapas de queso son muy recomendables

We had an amazing time tasting Porto wines here. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. The owner is French so we talked with him a lot. He also suggested a great restaurant to us, and even called and made the reservation for us!! I highly recommend this place.

Felt the value wasn't great. Focused on small producers, which doesn't necessarily mean quality, although the ports tasted were all decent, just not really impressive. I suppose you really have to break the bank with port, and get a vintage or really old tawny to get something impressive. At least the server I had wasn't super knowledgeable; if you dig deeper than what they've learned to parrot, you won't find much. Unless you know absolutely nothing about port and wine, you won't come out much more informed. Hate to say it but, the pours were pretty scant, and noticeably smaller on the expensive ones...

I regret not taking the employees name, but she welcomed my whole family in to the premises, gave us all tastings of all different types of Port and had all the time in the world for us. We felt well informed about the wine, enjoyed the experience and we all came away with at least one bottle. Add to this, the prices are very reasonable. Could not recommend highly enough

Perfect place for tasting some wonderful portos. Beautiful ambience. The friendly bartenders, speaking perfect English, will tell you anything about this tipic wine. Prices for tasting are very reasonable. And you can also buy bottles from little wineries that won't find everywhere.
