We found this wonderful place as we walked back from the Castle of Beja to our hotel. Beja is a very quiet city and in August was around 38 Celsius. As a group of 8 in search of drink and food we couldn't of being happier stopping at the Art Deco Cafe Wine Bar. Vitor Caos the friendly owner greeted us with a big smile. We asked for wine suggestions and Vitor was spot on with the first suggestion Adega Mayor Red Reserva Wine and the second Caiado Red Wine. We ordered sardines and I would say they were the best I've had, absolutely delicious. We sat outside and a local couple sat beside of us. They were very friendly and spoke to us about Beja and the current happenings in the city. At our request Vitor joined us at one point as well and told us about the area. Our stay in Beja was short and the only problem for us is we didn't get a chance to go back and eat again. If you're in Beja definitely would recommend checking the Art Deco Cafe out.

You must come here if you are in Beja . They make the BEST lemonade and the local beer is fantastic . Friendly and warm and lovely atmosphere . Great music too !

The Alheira sausage with toasted almonds and apple sauce is so so good. The mini pregos were awesome and the service was warm and inviting.

Maravilhoso! Espaço super agradável, estilo anos 80 com uma comida absolutamente fantástica! Vale muito a pena, mesmo no centro de Beja, para uma paragem durante uma visita pela cidade ou para aproveitar um copo ao fim de dia na esplanada.

Great little cafe in Beja. The owner is very friendly and the whole place feels like you visit a well known friend. People from the neighborhood come to chat, drink and eat. The wine selection is really good and the owber gives good advice. The food is really good. There are just some small tapas available, but they taste delicious.
