We had reservations for a tour which were confirmed via email and we arrived early. However upon arrival we were told that the tour was delayed and this delay would have altered our plans later in the day. They didn’t offer any alternatives that could help us actually take the tour. I can’t speak for whether the tour was good or not as we didn’t get to to it, however the situation could have been communicated better so that we could make alternate arrangements.

You need to book a tour to do a tasting, you cannot just walk in an try a tasting like at the other places.

A pleasant way to spend some time in Porto, especially when the weather is not that good. We took the tour in English, the guide Beatrix was nice and told us many interesting things. After the 30 minutes tour we tasted fine Port wine. During the tasting we got to know interesting people sitting behind the same table and had an enriching chat with them.

A very informative tour with delicious wine at the end, compared to the others the price point was also perfect. Might wanna eat something before, the wine is strong .

Excellent Port Wine Cellar. A little quieter than some of the other cellars, so you can really enjoy it. Great tasting room, and very thorough and helpful guides who explain the various kinds of port wine. Even learned to make a port wine cocktail while there! Also just a great port wine to have at home.

Veo mucha incultura en los comentarios. Todas las bodegas de 'Oporto' (Vila Nova de Gaia), o al menos el 90% de las antiguas, tienen origen inglés o fueron fundadas por ingleses, dado que los reyes de Portugal no les permitían llevarse el vino a menos que se estableciesen aquí y dejasen aquí parte de la riqueza. Las visitas las encuentro caras si pensamos que estás pagando para que te muestren un producto y encima se lo compres al final, con lo que, al menos, se debería descontar el precio de la entrada (o al menos una parte) de la compra que hagas. Aun así, tómate en cualquier lugar del mundo 3 copas de Oporto, a ver lo que te cuestan.... y verás que tampoco has pagado tanto. En Offley el guía en español, João, fue super amable. A primera hora y en septiembre solo eramos 4, yo tenía la visita de los 4 re-ser-va-da. Lo digo por los que os quejáis de ir y encontrar un evento y no poder entrar... si uno es un buen viajero trata de tener las cosas amarradas desde antes. Compramos la entrada de 13€ con 3 degustaciones muy de mañana... los vinos DELICIOSOS, pero se echa en falta algo para picar, aunque fueran 3 tiritas de queso, porque a las 11 de la mañana salimos tajaos de la bodega. Compramos vino porque realmente los de Offley lo valen, estaban impagables de buenos. La visita se hace corta pero es correcta, no entiendo las ganas de estarse 2 horas viendo toneles...os quejais por todo.

Se echa en falta alguna cosa para picar, aunque solo fueran unas tostadas porque te dan las dos copas y personalmente ha sido un poco bestia bebérselas así a destajo, una detrás de la otra, sin nada sólido y con muy poca explicación para la degustación

Nice guided visit - our guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and spoke perfect French! The tour ended with a tasting of 2 Port wines, accompanied by an exquisite selection of traditional Portuguese cheeses, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this tour.

Une visite hyper agréable en français qui plus est, avec une guide sympathique et dynamique. Les explications sont completes mais il manquerait cependant une petite partie sur la vinification. On a passé un tres bon moment, visite plus dégustation de 3 verres à 13 euros, juste parfait !

Guide was good but tour is about 20 min and explains the basics. Location is just for aging the wine.

Pretty cool for 13 euro to see the caves, get the info, and taste 3 ports. Our guide was great and seemed like he cared about the company/brand he worked for. We met some great people from England as we had our tasting and enjoyed the chat and wine as much as anything. Port was really good, nothing crazy but really good. Would recommend as we brought home a few bottles although we bought them at a wine store in Porto.

We enjoyed the port wines..the person explaining the different wines did a great job. Was not happy with the comment made by the person at the desk..we asked for a flight & she commented that "we are not on a plane". Funny part that the flyer states "tasting flights" She should be better trained.

I really enjoyed Offley to all the other Port Cellars. The tour is 10 euro, includes two tastings. Our guide Tomas was excellent, informative and answered all our questions! They were more patient and caring than the other large brand companies doing big tours. You can get a flight here of the 10,20,30 Year Tawney for 15 Euro and Rui Sa was our server for that experience the second time we came in and he was also excellent. If you're looking for great service, great port AND reasonable prices, check out Offley.

Très bonne visite avec un bon guide, c'est une très belle cave, je la recommande, 13euro l'entrée pour trois dégustations pas chers.

Schade, dass die Führung ohne Herzblut durchgeführt wurde. Für die Marke Offley und den Verkauf wird so wertvolles Potential verschenkt. Ich war vor 30 Jahren hier und war begeistert von der Vorstellung und habe immer nach Offley Porto geschaut und gekauft. Das ist nun nicht mehr der Fall. Schade!

Hemos cogido la visita clásica que era la opción más barata. Ha consistido en una visita de unos 30 minutos por las instalaciones y una cata de dos vinos. La chica que nos ha contado la historia en español lo hablaba muy bien y ha sido muy educada y agradable, un encanto. Cuentan la historia de la bodega y de los vinos y su elaboración. Es curioso aunque el precio un poquito elevado pese a ser la más barata que hemos encontrado. Buena experiencia en general.

We only did a tasting and it was well worth it. The tasting room was lovely and the flights were inexpensive. Our server was very knowledgeable and explained all the wines to us.

We joined the 5:30 English tour on Tuesday and were disappointed. Our guide spoke English fluently, but seemed very nervous and rushed. We also felt she recited a script rather than shared her knowledge. No real new info, rushed tour in 20mins and after 10minutes at the tasting it was clear they wanted to close for the day and we were kindly but urgently ushered out. Would not recommend.

Podstawowe zwiedzanie kosztuje obecnie 10€ W ramach tej kwoty otrzymujemy około 20 minutowe zwiedzanie winiarni wraz z przewodnikiem (oprowadzenie w j. angielskim, które jest niezwykle ciekawe oraz nic nie można mu zarzucić pod względem merytorycznym) oraz możliwość spróbowania dwóch win :)

Great tour and explanation on the process of creating a great port. We bought a bottle reserve and a white.

Next time I would probably just skip the tour and the lackluster tasting (even the Barão de Forrester tasting was lackluster) and go straight to the tasting room on R. Costa Santos for either the €15 flight of aged tawnies (10-, 20- and 30-year old) or a €7.50 glass of one of the vintage ports.

Colheita 1999 was unique, has a bit of spice, dark smoky, caramelly, fruity, toasted nutty taste. Glad I tried this glass. My husband and I went late morning, so just did tasting by glass.

Esperienza interessante, bellissime le cantine. Potrebbero migliorare gli orari di apertura, ma comunque consigliabile!

It was an interesting experience and the guide told a lot of the history about port and it's origin. For 7.50 you can taste three different port's at the end of the tour.

Visite très dynamique et sympathique. On amène plein de chose sur le porto et sa façon d'être produit. La guide n'a jamais été prosélyte, ce qui change d'autres maisons de porto. (Visite faite en français impeccable) Si on poursuit la dégustation, les explications sont très fournies et accessibles aux néophytes.

A very good showing for port. The tour was really well donee and the tasting were a nice end to the tour that helped explain what wee were drinking. The location was good and I would put it on your list as a place to visit when your in the city

Apart from the tasting in the end, the "tour" is mostly an oral lecture about port-making (which you can read on Wikipedia) with a background of stacked barrels in a dimly lit and smelly cellar. You won't see anything of the production process. But at €6 including two half glasses of port, it's not too expensive.

The group leader at the winery told us really good stories about the whole procedure of creating wine starting from the harvests in Douro Valley to the final steps made at Porto. During the visit you mainly see big barrels but these kind of tours are not focusing on visual attractions, the history and story telling are the main and important parts because this is the only way you can find out why Porto wines are so unique. The tasting is nice, you can rest a little bit sitting in a cold cellar and have 3 wines for 7,5€ which is a very reasonable price, you also have the opportunity to buy those wines which you liked the most.

Had a long walk up the hill to get here and we were turned away because they have too many big groups doing tastings. So, don't waste your time.

La visita es muy pequeña. Sólo unas salas con barricas. El resto de la bodega no se ve. La sala donde se hace la cata del vino está abarrotada y se hace con prisa. Hicimos la visita en semana santa. Tal vez en otras fechas no sea así.

Hemos ido un grupo grande y nos han atendido muy mal. Somos de la Rioja y entendemos de vino y no nos han dado a probar pero nos han vendido y decían que el probar estaba incluido.

Aside from the front desk person who takes the cash for the tour to be extremely nonchalant, completely unhelpful and therefore devoid of any customer service, the tour of the cellars was very informative and the tasting variety was good depending on which package you purchased. We tasted three ports - I personally really enjoyed the Forrester Reserve. In hindsight I would go for tasting five ports if that includes a vintage but as I said the front desk area and person was not informative about what exactly you get so... Who knows! Note that some of their ports are not sold outside of Porto or has limited export deals so... Try / buy them if you can.

No tastings without a tour, although they have enough staff members but they only serve people who joined the tour. Weird if you ask me.

N'achetez pas de bouteilles aux caves ! Nous avons bénéficié d'une visite gratuite avec l'achat de tickets pour une croisière d'une heure sur le Douro. La visite était sympa avec une guide vraiment adorable. Sachez qu'une fois la visite terminée et la dégustation d'un porto faite, vous pouvez acheter des bouteilles. Et bien quelle ne fut pas notre surprise de découvrir après coup que les bouteilles Offley vendues 9 ou 12€ dans la cave (dans une boite en carton) étaient vendus 1 à 3 € moins chers dans les boutiques situées près du Douro, quelques centaines de mètres plus bas (sans la boite en carton). Un conseil donc : visitez, goutez … mais n'achetez pas dans les caves !
