Little gem in a beautiful neighborhood in Porto! Organic wines from all over Portugal, stuff you can’t find at other shops or supermarkets and staff is super friendly. They do wine tastings and classes and also events. Nice place! Recommended!!

One of the coolest, off the beaten path places to taste wines that are pushing the limits. All the wines I tried were from local, often organic, small farms. Also, Ryan is really a terrific and knowledgeable host. Definitely a memorable tasting.

If you look for a place to relax, have a glass of wine and simply chill out in Porto, this is it! You will have the chance of experience very special wines, always with a good story attached. The location is also great, really near the center of the city.

If you are in Porto, you need to visit this space. Ryan has curated an incredible collection of Portuguese wine (which he generously let me taste while I was there!). The shop is available to the public M-F, just make sure you ring the doorbell to have someone come let you in. Ryan also runs Catavino tours which features tailored experiences throughout the Portuguese wine regions - harvest and stomp grapes, dine above the vineyards, hike the mountains, swim in crystalline waters, and gain expertise from master winemakers while walking through vines. The adventure awaits!

Love this unique space! What is it? Part tasting room, part classroom part wine shop. I stumbled into the LAB @ Catavino and met the owner Ryan. I rang the doorbell and Ryan opened up the shop for me, (it is not always open but someone is usually here he tells me). Ryan showed me a really cool selection of organic and natural wines. I saw some oldies but goodies and some wines I had never heard of before (I work in the Portuguese wine biz in the US). You can also learn about the wine and food tours Ryan runs throughout Portugal. Great place to learn about organic, biodynamic and natural wines! Took my parents and my brother for the natural wine class and tasting. My father and brother had never tried natural wines before and they really enjoyed the whole experience! I had never tried natural wines from Portugal and I enjoyed learning about some really cool producers! Highly recommend this place!!
