Just wonderfull! Kate and Piers are the best hosts one could wish for!Charming rooms, wonderfull ‘quinta’ with a rich history. Lots of places to visit in the area. Braga, Porto airport, the coast; all within half an hour. And the quinta is the most quiet home after a day of sightseeing or other.

Oasis of tranquility in the Portuguese hillside. It’s s little step out of time. Piers and Kate are An English couple, who provide great advice about the local area. Thanks to Piers who offered the use of his windbreakers for the beach about 40mins awAy. Lovely traditional restaurant in the local visit.

Bien es sabido que las ordenes religiosas elegían cuidadosamente el emplazamiento de sus lugares de retiro y oración. La quinta es uno de esos alojamientos para buscar la tranquilidad y el sosiego entre exuberantes jardines. Estuvimos dos días en el mes de julio con poca ocupación y arropados por Piers y Kate que nos agasajaron con su ceremoniosa amabilidad anglosajona. Dormir con las ventanas abiertas a un claustro franciscano y ser arrullado por el murmullo de la fuente es una experiencia muy agradable. Las estáncias invitan al reposo y a relajarse intramuros. En otros aspectos más prácticos comentar que los precios del minibar no son de un alojamiento de estas características sino que aptos para todos los bolsillos. Por dejar alguna sugerencia se agradecería información en español. La piscina es un lujo que no puedes perderte : al pie de un magnolio, una encina y una exótica corymbia o eucalipto de flor Roja, te refrescara con agua de manantial con propiedades curativas. En resumen.. un lujo que si resulta posible, uno de debería regalarse alguna vez. Recomendable.

Wir hatten für unseren Herbsturlaub ein kleines ruhiges Hotel gesucht, in dem und in dessen Umgebung wir uns in schöner Natur erholen, aber die Zeit auch zum Kennenlernen der Kultur dieses Bereichs nutzen konnten. In der Quinta haben wir dieses Hotel gefunden und dort einschränkungslos jeden unserer 19 Urlaubstage genossen. Das Hotel liegt sehr ruhig in parkähnlicher Landschaft. die Anlage stammt aus dem 16. Jahrhundert und wurde lange als Franziskanerkloster genutzt. Der Klostercharakter wird nach wie vor durch einen großen mit 2 Brunnen ausgestatteten Innenhof, durch Arkaden und durch die an das Kloster angelehnte Barockkirche betont. Etwas abseits liegt das große Schwimmbad, in dem wir baden und in dessen Umgebung wir auf gepolsterten Liegen und unter Sonnenschirmen die Zeit verbringen konnten.Die Doppelzimmer und der Wohnraum, den wir zum Frühstücken und auch sonst jederzeit nutzen konnten, ist im traditionellen Stil englischer Landhäuser sehr angenehm eingerichtet. Das abwechslungsreiche kontinentale Frühstück wird durch die aus eigenen Früchten zubereitete Marmelade und durch frisches Obst aus dem Garten der aus England stammenden Eigentümer ergänzt. Von ihnen fühlten wir uns bestens betreut. Sie gaben uns mit entsprechendem Informationsmaterial beste Tipps, welche Orte, Landschaften und kunsthistorische Bauwerke eine Besichtigung lohnten.

Our 10 day holiday at the Quinta was wonderful. The peace and serenity of the surroundings was truly outstanding as was the service given to us by Piers and Kate, the owners. We wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend. A truly lovely holiday.

Espaço muito bonito no monte da fraqueira. Não está aberto ao público.

Lugar muy tranquilo y bien gestionado. Apartado de todo. Ideal para descansar. Es fundamental tener coche. Hay un buen restaurante a unos 5 minutos en coche, llamado Chuva. La piscina, si el tiempo acompaña es espectacular.
