Slow service. Owned by conman, wrong bill and rude staff.
The food took forever to arrive. We were served piece meal one after the other with constant reminders to get the remaining items. Staff didn’t care or show any urgency. Also, they don’t serve tap water stating Porto tap water isn’t fit for drinking! We have travelled across the world. Below is my first time a restaurant played “small font” trick.
At the end, we saw our bills and we were charged 7 euros for things that were served to us without mentioning anything. The waiter then said “you should read the small font”. It was disappointing. If we had more time I would have liked to get the police in just to cause them some nuisance. These guys are running a con job. There are many others in same area, go there. Food wasn’t bad but the way staff conducts themselves is just disappointing.

Esta pontuação não tem a ver com a comida (que estava boa), nem com o atendimento (que foi excelente) mas sim com o Dono do restaurante que entrou na cozinha aos berros descontrolados com os seus funcionários. Causou um desconforto grande em mim e certamente nas outras pessoas que estavam a almoçar. Lamentável comportamento. Não volto aqui.

Simplemente perfecto, todo lo que pedimos estaba delicioso y la relación calidad precio inmejorable. Local limpio, tranquilo y muy bonito en una zona apartada del bullicio turístico del centro. El trato impecable y los camareros muy agradables.
La única pena es que nos quede tan lejos de casa y no poder ir a menudo. Un 10 merecidísimo.

La experiencia fue muy buena: comida excelente. Trato por parte del personal de 10. Los precios pueden parecer un poco caros. Según lo que te pides. Pero la calidad merece la pena. Pedí cordero con basmati 13 euros el plato y fue excelente. Además para una persona, la cantidad es más que suficiente.

Quando vou ao Porto passo sempre pelo Portugandhi. Obrigatório para quem gosta e aprecia comida indiana. Grande variedade de entradas e pratos, tudo delicioso. Uma bebida espumante ou um vinho verde acompanham bem mas a carta tem muitas opções. A sobremesa é sempre a bebinca, claro!

Very expensive for the quality and quantity of food they serve. It is not authentic Indian and doesn't justify the price you pay for the dish. The ambiance is amazing and the service is to point and very well presented. But it still doesn't justify the hefty cost for their dishes.

Um dos melhores restaurantes da cidade do Porto, claro, para quem gosta de cozinha indiana. A comida é mesmo espectacular e bem confeccionada. O espaço é ótimo e staff cordial. O único ponto desfavorável são os preços, um pouco altos, o que inviabiliza ir com mais frequência ao restaurante. Mas sem dúvida, em termos de cozinha indiana, dos melhores que já conheci.

Simple and decent looking restaurant, however the food was quite tasteless and bland. The so called Kulfi was a hybrid between Ice-cream and frozen milk.

+ Staff is good, they try to do small talk
+ Comfort is also good, no smell or some music out of public taste
+ Not very spicy options, good as in EU friendly I had say
+ Main dish was good rest were not, like starters, mango lassi, or desserts were below avg.
Cons
- only cash, also would point out that you should have read before entering.
- starters are not at all good, i ordered mixed so I tasted all
- not so authentic Indian taste, probably their own version of Indian I suppose.
- prices are high, for example main dishes generally include options for Roti or Rice but they won't.
Would I recommend?
No, in case if you are looking for Indian food.
Yes, if you looking for experimentation.

Muito acolhedor, os funcionários são excelentes, simpáticos e prestativos. A comida é servida de forma tradicional e tudo feito na hora; o pão Naan é muito bom, os gelados são divinos e os pratos são verdadeiramente indianos.

Worst food of my life. Not only taste but the quality is also pathetic. It feels like they just buy frozen food packets and just heat them up.
Service is also pathetic.
We left 80% of our food and the owner doesn't seem to be concerned and we paid 80 euros for 6.
I had to give one star but this restaurant doesn't even deserve one star.
Would not recommend to anyone.

Poor poor service! Door was locked when I tried to enter, no one bothered to open it up even though the restaurant was open.
Can’t tell if the guy serving is shy or cocky! I won’t blame him for terrible accent, but I will blame him for terrible service! Never bothered to check as a server. Not friendly, Infact slightly rude. I had to keep stopping him to get the next course.
Had the chickpea combo for lunch. Very underwhelming! Rice was dry, naan tasted like cardboard.
Not coming back again!

We enjoyed the delicious Indian food! The species were very well mixed and depending which meal you choose it can be spicy but it's written on the menu which ones are spicy lol. We started with Samosa's (veggie and with meat), garlic Naan and ordered our main dish. It's worthy to go there. The food is more than enough. The staff is amazing and helpful. They recommended me a Portugese juice. The first time I've tasted a typical Portugese drink with naranja or pine apple.

Comida deliciosa. No almoço, há um menu que oferece sopa, pão, o prato principal, bebida e café. São três opções de prato principal: frango, cabrito ou vegetariano. A sopa de legumes é leve. O pão é um pouco diferente dos que já provei, mas é delicioso. O nível de pimenta é único e pouco intenso, na medida. Atendimento bastante amável.

Quem não conhece e olha de fora não imagina o que vai encontrar lá dentro. Ambiente refinado, as colunas revestidas com lindo papel de parede, dedicação aos detalhes. Equipe muito bem.treimada e atenciosa. A comida é um capítulo a parte, tudo muito fresco e saboroso. O proprietário do restaurante sempre presente recebe os clientes de forma gentil. Preço justo, valeu muito, voltarei muitas vezes com certeza.

We only had the set lunch menu but it was very tasty and very good value. There was a vegetarian option as part of the set lunch! Soup, main course, bread, beer, coffee for 2 for less than 20€ . Lovely service too!

Excelente viagem aos aromas e ambientes da India. Samosas deliciosas e os pratos principais muito bem confecionados com um pão naan super saboroso. Para sobremesa foi-nos sugerido a Bebinca e não desiludiu. Um espaço super acolhedor e o atendimento muito profissional e atencioso. Não possui multibanco e os preços são bastante aceitaveis.

Brilliant authentic Indian food. They start of with complimentary papad and 4 different types of Chutneys which I not seen anywhere else in Europe. The variety of food is amazing. Highly recommended!

Good quality food but the price is not competitive with other restaurants. For instance you can spend 20€ per person easily and still leave hungry, to put some context with 20€ you can pay an "all you can eat" restaurant pretty much everywhere.

This restaurant is a very average Indian restaurant, I have eaten in many Indian restaurants throughout the world and written about them and I honestly found the food at portughandi to be bland and not very creative, compared to many other Indian places in Europe/Portugal.
Also the price is massive by Porto standards , even downtown, and the portions leave alot be desired,
Please try harder.

Indian chef, Indian waiter and an Indian owner. Which makes that, a place for REAL indian food. Excellent food and service. The waiter was very useful and his recommendations were the best one. Although, the walls sure need a paint and some of the wallpaper of the columns were little off place and low resolution. A must if you are here in Porto!!

Disappointment. Went there for the good reviews expecting genuine indian cooking but alas! The food was tasteless, the vegetables suspiciously similar looking to some coming from a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (and tasting like it too). We were charged for food that we did not order, and the service was a burden more than a pleasure (e.g having to tell three different waiters that we dont want to look at the dessert menu and just want check).
In the end; overprized and bland. I do not recommend!

This place really serves authentic Indian food. Having eaten in number of Indian restaurants in Europe and UK, I can say this is by far one of the best Indian restaurants. What I liked the most was that they add just enough spices to the dish. I had fish curry and chicken biryani, both were excellent.

I had taken six times vegetarian food without onion and garlic from this place .
I had tried aloo gobhi , mixed vegetable , palak paneer , dal tadka and tava chapati . Dal tadka was tasty in comparison to other one. Taste of other receipe are moderate, neither very good nor very bad.
Price is moderate, my bill was in between 15 to 20 Euro for 2 people.
People running this restaurant are very friendly. One should give a try for a once.

Não gostei pois nem de longe tem gosto ou cheiro de comida indiana,provavelmente quem gostou não experimentou o restaurante indiano em FARO na região de Algarve em Portugal o restaurante é Namastey ele concerteza vai te levar até a Índia,perfeitoooooooooooo.

This is a nice place with friendly staff and good food. However, bear in mind that you should make a reservation for dinner. Additionally, though they bring you water, papadom, and chutney without asking if you want it, these items are not complimentary. They will charge you for them. Be aware too that, if you can't finish your meal and wish to take the rest home, they will charge you for the takeout containers.

They spoke perfect English and Portuguese. I was served practically immediately. The food came out very quickly. I came for the lunch menu so the prices were good. They have nice glass bottled waters (included with my meal) Inside is attractive. I went simple with chicken Tikka Masala and the meat was great. The sauce is very mild though. I would probably order it spicy next time. Attentive wait staff. Possibly the best naan bread I've ever had. Would come back.
