Amelia Daly: We had the great pleasure of staying in the beautiful Casa de Panque for a week at the beginning of June this year. From the moment we arrived we were aware that this was a very special property. It is a very beautifully appointed house with meticulously cared for grounds. There is a great sense of privacy throughout the property and the garden, play area and pool are all maintained to a very high standard. Another lovely thing about Casa de Panque is that it has so many comfortable spaces to sit down and relax. For example, you can lie on the hammock in the evenings and look out over the beautiful eucalyptus forests, lie in the sun loungers by the pool or eat the delicious local food out on the terrace where there is space for al fresco dining. Wherever you are in the property it always feels tranquil and relaxing. The house has the feeling of a very well cared for home with all the facilities one would require. It is clean, comfortable and very spacious. But what makes Casa de Panque so outstanding is the incredibly warm welcome that its owners Hugo and his gorgeous family gave us. On arrival we were treated to local wine and cheese which were delicious. Hugo is passionate about this unique property that his family have lovingly restored and he is so enthusiastic about his guests enjoying the property, grounds and the whole Northern Portugal region. He is full of information regarding places to visit and places of local interest. We took some really lovely trips to Ponte de Lima, Viana de Castelo, Porto, Braga and saw the magnificent Bom Jesus do Monte just outside Braga which was well worth a visit. We loved the beautiful sandy beaches of Viana de Castelo. Porto is also a beautiful city and full of interesting places to visit. Our 3 children spent hours in the pool and playing football on the mini pitch, we even had a very entertaining Ireland vs Portugal game with Hugo and his family! Casa de Panque is a very special property and we recommend it so highly. We can’t wait to return and continue our exploration of this beautiful region. Descoordenado ao extremo! Uma fila enorme de pessoas esperando do lado de fora para continuar e fazer compras, juntamente com uma fila enorme de pessoas que já compraram produtos e estão fazendo pick ups, levou 30 minutos em uma fila para pick up da loja, tudo o que os caixas precisam fazer é verificar a identificação de algumas pessoas e seu e-mail de compra.... ou até mesmo apenas olhar para cima. Então, porquê 30 minutos?

Não é apenas uma loja, é uma experiência. Adoro este pequeno lugar, tudo dentro tem um monte de antiguidades estranhas e coisas interessantes e o homem que estava trabalhando quando fomos era super legal, nos contou algumas coisas legais sobre alguns itens da loja e até nos deu um desconto nos produtos que compramos. Você não vai sair de mãos vazias. Mesmo que você não possa pagar algumas das coisas ou não queira escolhê-las para estar em sua casa, elas são realmente fabulosas de se ver.

Acabei de voltar para casa de mãos vazias. Esperei na fila 11, no centro do jardim, à espera de comprar 25 sacos de terra com cobertura morena. ( Uma de 3 viagens de 25 sacos cada viagem). Quando finalmente consegui chegar ao caixa, só para cartões, disseram-me que ela não podia, pois eu precisaria de uma foto do tipo "mulch"? O quê? Eu tenho estado aqui para comprar mulch todos os anos e nunca tive isso acontecendo. Escusado será dizer que isto foi irritante. Eu não vou sair para o lote e tirar uma foto e voltar para uma fila ainda mais longa. Infelizmente, não quero mais lidar com o Home Depot tanto quanto gostaria. Isto é na loja Burnsville, Mn, que eu sempre pensei ser mal gerida.
