The only vegatarian and vegan restaurant in Évora and well beyond.
Clean, light, nicely decorated.
I am defenitely not a vegatarian but I loved the food at Salsa Verde. Lots of choice, very tasty, very creative cooking.
We, yes that's including me, will definitely return!
Salsa Verde is buffet style. Self-service so you pick what you like or want to try.
A small plate has a fixed price. You pay for the larger plates by weight.
Large choice of dishes. Nine salads and or fresh fruit combinations.
Large choice of cakes etc and savory ones ('salgados').
A dozen or so of different Pukka teas.
Nice and friendly staff who will explain everything in Portuguese and English as well.
Entrance more or less wheelchairs friendly (sidewalk!) Free parking for disabled opposite of the restaurant.
Paid but limited parking in the street itself. Nearby parking (free) available.
Highly recommended!

Penso que o único restaurante vegetariano na cidade! Funciona como buffet com bastante variedade tanto nos frios, como nos quentes, com duas opções, prato grande a peso ou prato pequeno com preço fixo.

Di sicuro un'alternativa alla cucina di carne e con poca verdura, tuttavia ho trovato questo self service a buffet poco ricco, con tutti i piatti freddi a parte la zuppa. I bambini, che in altri posti anche vegani hanno sempre apprezzato, qui hanno avuto più difficoltà.

A comida é FANTÁSTICA. Jesus! As couves de bruxelas são as melhores que já comi. Comida vegetariana, vegan e algumas até sem glúten. O lugar é acolhedor e no geral o ambiente é muito bom. O único senão é o preço. Achei muito caro, 20 euros para duas pessoas e nem preenchemos os pratos. Os sumos também têm preços muito altos para um copo minúsculo e, como tudo, é pago à parte. Mas pronto, acho que no fundo paga-se pela qualidade da comida, se bem que se tivessem preços mais baixos teriam o restaurante completamente cheio.

Good Self-service restaurant for eating something fast, the food is good and you can choose between a lot of different vegetarian or vegan dishes. The only thing that I don't understand are the prices, why putting a 6 euros small plate in the formula "fill it as much as you can", so the people try to put all the food in that restricted place mixing dessert, fruit and salad.

Self service vegetariano, qualità discreta, ambiente spartano, prezzi medio bassi. Lo dico per gli italiani, così vi fate riconoscere: il piatto piccolo si può riempire a dismisura e costa sempre 4,95. Quello grande invece ve lo pesano, e pagate il giusto. A voi la scelta.

Adoro este restaurante! A comida é deliciosa, buffet, o que permite provar várias comidas diferentes. Posso escolher entre um prato pequeno ou grande, tudo barato. O espaço é bastante simpático. Hei-de voltar!

Vegetariano con comida con mucho saber y sabor. Sin ser vegetariano (yo no lo soy) puedes entrar y degustar cualquiera de sus platos (es tipo buffet...puedes pagar a plato pequeño lleno a 5euros o por kg, que sale a 13euros). Volveria y volveré. Muy rico!!!

Excellent! So happy to find a place in Portugal with meat-free options. The staff were exceptionally nice, everything on the buffet was delicious, and we appreciated having a single-plate option (pay-per-plate, instead of per kg). The wifi was great, nice peaceful ambiance, and they even let us stay past closing to finish up work we were doing (we're travelling). We'll be back if we return to Evora!

The best meal we have had so far in Portugal. And it's all vegetarian! The buffet style let's you pick what you want. My suggestion is try everything. It was all fabulous. The staff was very helpful speaking English. We are returning tonight for dinner.

Excelente! Não sou vegetariano e vou voltar. A comida é muito saborosa e bem confeccionada. A sopa é também uma delicia. Existem várias opções tanto vegetarianas como veganas. Local muito acolhedor, decoração agradável e notavelmente limpo. Pessoas simpáticas. Vale a pena visitar mesma para quem não é vegetariano. Boa relação qualidade/preço.

Really yummy food! It’s hard to find a place like this. With a complete vegetarian menu, salsa verde works kind of like a cafeteria where you pick what you like and then they weigh it and you pay by the kilo. €14,40 per kilo or a flat rate of €4,50 for a smaller plate. This is a killer deal! The food was all quite good, though borders on generic because of the way it’s served. But the guy working there was super kind and helpful and we had a wonderful experience and I’d easily recommend this place!

Very yummy food and reasonable price!
One can choose between a big or small plate. The latter does cost around 5 € (fixed price). A big plate is weighted and costs around 15 € per Kilo. You can choose and fill the plates from 8 salads and another 8 warm dishes plus dessert plus soup (1-2€). My friend and I eventually payed roughly 10 € pP and also had a coke.

It is a special day for two vegetarians when they find a Portuguese vegetarian restaurant and Salsa Verde in Evora was a real find. On the road leading downhill between the main square and the walls this is a bright and clean restaurant that serves good fresh food. The owner served us and was very friendly and helpful, explaining how the system works. You can choose a large plate that is charged by the kilo. We were there for lunch and so chose a small plate at under €5 and had a mixture of tart and salads. Good value and great tasty food. Thank you.

I travelled today from Ericeira (north Lisbon) to Faro, but had to make a stopover in Évora to lunch at this lovely restaurant. Is my second visit but I was again not dissapointed: Delicious homemade food in a relaxing and friendly place. Will return every time I can.

Melhor restaurante vegetariano que conheço. Os produtos são de excelente qualidade e os pratos são muito saborosos. Tem vários pratos vegetarianos baseados na cozinha tradicional portuguesa e em particular alentejana. Tem possibilidade de alimentos sem glúten. É self-service, com possibilidade de um prato a peso ou um prato menor com um preço fixo inferior a 5€. Tem sumos naturais, infusões de qualidade e açúcar amarelo.

the food here was AMAZING, I ate 2 full plates and took some home with me for the next day. The people working there were very friendly and explained what everything was. A lot of the food was vegan, so there were a lot of options for me. Just ask them what is vegan, they'l help you!
there were a few local dishes, wich was cool, because sometimes it's hard to taste the local kichen as a vegan/ vegetarian. Also, it was VERY inexpensive, we ate there with my whole family (6 people) , we all had a few drinks, and most of us had a second plate and I think we paid about 70 euros.

Totalmente recomendable, ubicado en una zona poco visible pero no es complicado encontrarlo, hay alguna señalización en el entorno. Muy buena cocina, de calidad, personal muy atento y correcto, buena relación calidad precio, antigua casa restaurada, por ejemplo un comedor está ubicado en una antigua cocina. Un lugar con cierto encanto , comida o cena a la carta, menú completo con vino, postre , café....sobre 25/30 euros aprox. Mejor ir temprano si no haces reserva.

Came here for lunch after a long flight and drive in from the US. It was definitely a refreshingly tasty meal with excellent service and delicious food. I normally don't love vegetarian only food, but it was all fantastic.

Kinda feels like a closed Ikea on the Feb Wednesday night we visited, but went because of a dire need for veg after too long on the Iberian peninsula and was not at all disappointed! Lovely food, and full of healthy win after loads of pork. Super yummy.

Arrived at 18.10 , restaurant advertised as OPEN at 18.00 ,now, that to me means open for business, but not so here, we were told food (dinner) not ready yet and dinner is served at 19.00 , well, I'm sorry but I was hungry at 18.10 but owner? Made no effort to offer us anything to eat. Not good.
Cannot understand how anyone in business can afford to turn down taking money, especially "off season" .
