This place was so lovely! The staff was all soooo nice. My room was so clean and beautiful. The garden is amazing- complete with a lovely bar that has delicious sangria! I didnt want to leave. Its also an amazing location to easily walk or hike to all the castles.

Beautiful hostel inside an old Villa at a picturesque location. Hands down one of the top 5 places I have stayed at in my life so far. The place has a very welcoming and personal touch to it, and the staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. It makes a *huge* difference if someone personally shows you around, helps you carry your luggage and is in general enthusiastic about their time as a volunteer / intern during their time at the place as well (and even shows interest in you as a guest and fellow traveller). The breakfast is really nice, you can sit outside in the spacious yard and the kitchen is not only clean but also beautiful and has marble tables and original furniture. If I would be able to give this place 6/5 stars, I would!

This place is definitelly the place to go! Nice and friendly staff, wonderfull clean rooms and bathrooms, cosy living room, good breakfast (vegan friendly) and a quiet luxuos garden perfect for a rest. It's very close from the city center (around 300 meters) in a very quiet location. I highly recomend this place and I will definitelly come back!

I had a wonderful 2-night stay in this beautiful property with a lovely garden for relaxing. Beds were comfortable and the location was super quiet for an excellent sleep. A good breakfast is included and I recommend the free daily walking tour of Sintra by the staff, its a great way to learn and see a lot!The hostel is not far from the centre, but finding the property from the train station can be a bit tricky along winding and hilly roads.

This has been my favorite hostel experience. Staff was incredibly friendly, free breakfast, "family" dinners, walking tours, and an amazing wealth of knowledge about the area. They are located just down the street from the main center. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. Huge backyard area perfect for relaxing in, having drinks and getting to know fellow travelers (cheap drinks at the bar too). Abundant relaxation areas. We were legitimately sad to leave this place. Highly recommend

Had a really good stay here. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. We as guests had for example a nice meal in the evening cooked by the chef at a long table with some candles. The hostel and the garden are beautiful, clean and big and the breakfast was good as well. Only the shower was a little bit soft when I wanted to shower with warm water. Hopefully I will return to this hostel and I would really recommend this place to everyone!

We arrived to the Nice Way Sintra Palace excited about the place. An adorable palace! How cute! Although we made the reservation 4 months ago, when we arrived we were told that we would be staying in the "other building". The "other building" is two doors down in a 1970s - style building, which has no facilities and no vibes. It smells like must when you walk in the building and the room smells like someone is trying to cover the musty smell with a fake strawberry air freshener. We were super disappointed and felt that we had been cheated. There is NO MENTION of an annex until you get here. Make sure that your room is in the main building if you are like us and expecting an antiquated experience. As our time wore on though, we quite enjoyed this place. We met people at the main building, ate a couple of dinners there, and enjoyed €2 cocktails at their little bar. The staff made this experience really nice as well. They were actually the best part of our stay. The bathrooms could also have been better kept.

El lugar está bastante bien, tiene un montón de actividades y hay muy buen rollo. La ubicación excepcional, muy próximo al centro aunque llegar en coche se hace difícil. El aparcamiento es escaso aunque se encuentran sitios casi siempre. Las habitaciones tienen algún desperfecto que otro pero nada fuera de lo común. El persona muy atento y agradable, la verdad es que posiblemente sea el mejor hostel donde me haya alojado.

Friendly, warm, international set of staff who are extremely knowledgeable about Sintra and it's history - they run free walking tours for guests at 10am most days. I stayed in a private room next to the main building, which was quiet and quaintly decorated, with a shared bathroom. We were traveling on bikes and there was ample storage space for these. There were so many highlights of this stay, including a good breakfast of fresh bread, cheese and coffee, proximity to the main square, and a nice outdoor area with beautiful flowers and a bar. The greatest experience for me personally was joining the al fresco dinner that was hosted on the first night. For 12 euros a head they provided a three course meal with wine and port, a great introduction to Portuguese cuisine. If you have the opportunity to go to this dinner, do it!

This is a greatly well run place withyop staff. Unforrunately One of the bathrooms was out of action for maintance for a period of timr and there was a couple of power cuts but now efecting the common areas

Definitely get your moneys worth at this hostel. Rooms are spacious and private despite sleeping 9. Facilities are clean. Breakfast is convenient, decent and cheap. Location is perfect if you want to get amongst Sintra. They also messaged me when I left my AirPods behind.

El lugar está muy cerquita del centro. Las instalaciones cómodas. La atención buena, hablan poco Español pero tratan de comunicarse. Estuvimos alojados en una habitación doble con baño privado. Lo único negativo es la incomodidad de las almohadas.

Muy recomendable. El ambiente es genial, tienen un jardín super bonito con bar, la decoración es muy bonita y los recepcionistas son muy amables.

Sehr schönes, gemütliches Hostel. Das Hostel ist mitten im Zentrum von Sintra gelegen (15min zum Bahnhof, 5-7 min zum Bus Richtung Burg/Schloss). Unser Zimmer war ziemlich groß und hatte eine super Aussicht auf die Maurenburg. Das Frühstück (Aufpreis 2,50€) war für ein Hostel recht üppig, es gab eine Auswahl an Wurst und Käse genau wie mehrere Arten von Cornflakes und Müsli, dazu auch noch eine Portion Obst. Auch besitzt das Hostel einen sehr schönen Garten in dem man sich super ausruhen kann. Das Personal ist mega freundlich und hat immer super Tipps für alles mögliche auf Lager. Wifi funktioniert super im ganzen Hostel.

Decent location, though it’s uphill all the way to historic centre. They have a locked luggage storage room, which is excellent for an early arrival before heading out to see the sights. The provided supper looked tasty, although we didn’t partake. They have an excellent garden patio with a bar, which is an excellent area for socializing with your fellow travellers. The room was nice and quiet (on the 3rd floor) and we couldn’t hear anyone else. Only downside was that the shared bathroom was on the second floor, which made a midnight bathroom trip a bit of an adventure.

Cependant, une chambre sans isolation phonique : nous pouvons entendre toutes les conversations situées 2 étages plus bas... De plus, la cabine de douche mériterait d'être rafraîchie et l'évacuation d'eau à contrôler car bouchée... La literie quant à elle, pourrait être changée : un lit qui grince +++ au moindre mouvement...

This place is wondeful! The staf is very welcoming! We got a lot of useful tips for visiting Sintra, including some do's and don'ts! We had a guided tour and it was very nice. The atmosphere and the other travellefs are very kind. The garden is nice and so is the bar (and cheap!!!). Clean rooms. Definitely would recommend!

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They are the best thing about the hostel. The walking tour every morning at 10am is really worth it. Payment is by donation and well worth it. The climb up to the palace is quite long and it would take you ages to find the way without a guide.Room was great. My only complaint was the lack of hot water for a shower. I was on the in private villa house on the 1st floor using the shared bathroom. The hot water either wasn’t working or didn’t get hot enough. Not great if you’re in need of a nice shower

Meilleur auberge faite lors de mon séjour au Portugal. Un melting pot incroyable, où toutes les origines et cultures se mêlent, comme quoi ! Un espace dehors super sympa ( bar, barbecue, ...) Un espace TV avec chaînes françaises via satellite. Et le plus important une bonne literie pour un sommeil récupérateur après la visite sportive des différents palais de Sintra, tous aussi beaux les uns que les autres :)

My experience at this hostel has been one of phenominal proportions. I feel welcomed by the staff all the time I was there. Often I ahd the chance to cook with other people making various dinners, desserts and other culinary curiosities. The house itself is interesting and teeming with history as is the surrounding area. There is an air of mystery here and all around Sintra and this is where you can come to really connect with people and nature. I would highly reccommend making a visit. The facilities are clean and the showers are nice, the breakfast has really good fresh baked bread and fresh fruit everyday!!

Most of my experiences with other hostels is rude behavior and uncleanliness. The Nice Way Sintra staff was so inviting and welcoming the first moment I entered the door. This hostel is located in the historical center of this charming villa. My room smelled fresh and clean with an amazing view of the Moorish castle and of Quinta de Regaleira . I recommend this hostel to anyone who is visiting Sintra Portugal. Will come back again! Thank you Nice Way Sintra!

It is a nice place, with beautiful rooms. The bathrooms are shared which is less nice, but that is clear upfront. This fact does make a cold shower later in the morning quite likely. Nice staff relaxed place.

Une auberge de jeunesse pittoresque et à la déco sympa où j'ai passé un agréable moment ! Les dortoirs sont très spacieux et les lits sont confortables. L'espace salle de bains est cependant un peu petit. Le grand jardin est relativement agréable notamment pour les soirées d'été et dispose même d'un petit bar. Le petit-déjeuner est complet avec un large choix de produits proposés. Un lieu que je recommande.

An horrible experience they dont talk Portuguese they don't talk clear English difficult comunication they run of reservations by phone and can't give me clear informations about their services . I have made a reservation but at the time of the check in and even before nobody picked up the phone result I was going to pass the night in the street because almost everything was full thank God one guy recommend me a hotel near by so unprofessional

Busy hostel with helpful staff ready to dish out tips of nearby trails, sights, hikes etc - free yoga &tea - obviously a major factor of hostels is the people passing through them but whoever is chief has created a lovely atmosphere; cosy living room, very nice garden with shelter and good kitchen too. Bit steep price (15€ a night) but then people would probably say I'm a cheap skate and the amenities are good.

Nice Way was a really cute place and located close to the centre of Sintra. It was clean and comfortable and came with a pretty decent breakfast. They have an awesome outdoor space and hosted a BBQ while we were there. I would definitely recommend.

The room was decorated nicely. Hallway and shared bathroom were smelly. Nice, friendly, clueless staff. Very simple breakfast - have no expectations :) Likely to gather a cool hippie crowd.

Booked a room with a private bath for a 2 night stay in Sintra. Hostel is just down the hill from the national palace, very centrally located. Keep in mind streets are steep and narrow, be prepared to have cars wizzing by as you walk. There is street parking near by, but it is limited. The room was clean and amenities what you expect from a hostel. Continental breakfast was included

I returned to this hostel after changing and going for a walk to being informed that i had been moved to another room. Initially, i wasn't too bothered, but he went on to tell me that he had gone into my locker and moved all my belongings (including my knickers i had placed on top to wash, humiliating) When i expressed my feelings about this it got quite aggressive and rude. Telling me to basically shut up. I have said one thing he doesn't need to hear anything else ?. When i explained that he had gone into my locked, private area and moved my private stuff without asking, he got more annoyed. Then went on to lie, saying he didn't do it, his Manager did, as she drove from home especially to do so. Apparently he forgot he told me she was away on holiday. The reason for moving me ? they had forgotten that a big group of people had booked and they couldn't fit them in. Another lie. If you want your privacy invaded, stay here.

Great stay in the Nice Way Sintra. The staff were friendly and helpful and knew the surrounding area well. They made me feel completely at ease during my stay there. Its in a good location, very near to all the sites you need to see. I highly recommend it!

Our Room was spacious and had a little balcony. There is a small free breakfast in the morning but we decided to have our own because it started too late for us. A drawback was the bathroom. It was cleaned only once in the whole week.

Great atmosphere. Really helpful staff. They really try their best for you to have the best experience in sintra. They are really friendly. Got to meet awesome people here, Portuguese and outsiders. The place itself is a very nice and cozy chalet with a cool garden to hang out and have lunch or dinner. They make these dinners for all guests to enjoy, plus free breakfast.

A charming and vibrant hostel with a great vibe and friendly staff. Although we stayed in a private room in a slightly dodgy apartment building a couple doors down, I'd still recommend for a short stay.

Pretty much what you should expect from a hostel in terms of facilities.Basic breakfast provided but you have use of the kitchen to do your own thing if desired.There is a quiant garden area that provides a relaxed environment with a small bar serving inexpensive drinks.Train station is approx 15 minutes walk.Parking is very limited down the narrow Sintra streets and you may have to find a spot a little way out or use the public car park but shouldnt be an issue as once youre there, most will be navigating on foot anyway.We didnt ask if there were lockers or a safe that we could use - perhaps would if we stayed again.

Located in a scenic winding road, the hostelprovides a warm environment and EVEN an outdoor bar. I definitely recommend the hostel. Also, the printer is available for use (.20 euros per page printed)

Disappointing. Double room with ensuite in a hostel. We have stayed in many hostels in Europe which were far cleaner then this one. Hot water was a problem, didnt always arrive. When it did would then stop for about 60secs! Room in the attic so hot, nothing to move air around. Communal kitchen dirty, included breakfast not worth going downstairs for. All in all, overpriced. Realise this is Sintra, but still. Really letting the team down in regards to cleanliness. Portugal has to be the cleanest country with regards to accommodation and public toilets that we have visited. Nice Way Sintra wasnt.

Super relaxing and relaxed hostel. Nice staff. It's a bit of a hike from town up a hill but totally worth it.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hostel - and instead of staying for two nights I even prolonged my trip for another night. And even then i had a hard time leaving! The staff is super friendly and give helpful tips about visiting the breathtaking palaces. I stayed in the 6 bed dorm which had a balcony with a view overlooking the castle and Pena palace, stunning! The breakfast was fine and around dinner time everyone socialized in the cozy living room. A truly nice hostel that i can warmly recommend :)

호스텔월드에서 검색하서 알게 되었습니다. 매우 자유로운 분위기이고 경치도 매우 좋습니다. 직원들도 매우 친절했습니다. 시설도 만족하구요. 리스본의 예스나 데스티네이션처럼 기업형과 비교시에는 상대적으로 불편할수 있습니다. 단점은... 위치 입니다. 신트라가 언덕언덕이라 감수해야하는 부분인데. 저는 캐리어 끌고 가는데 다소 힘들었습니다ㅜㅜ. 체크인시에는 교통 정보가 없어서 구글 믿고 걸었는데, 최단거리아 올라가고 내려가기를 반복하더군요 . 혹시 이용 하실분은 기차역 오른쪽에 있는 435나 433 버스를 이용해서 신트라 national palace 에서 내려서 걸어가세요. 그럼 가까워요.

Un sitio con unas vistas estupendas. Muy limpio. Y con un personal muy agradable. Si vuelvo por Sintra ya tengo claro me sitio de hospedaje.

Kitchen tenant was very nice. It was great they had a simple breakfast and coffee was included in the price. If you haven't been to Sintra, be prepared to walk up and down a lot. Uber was reasonably priced as well. Two of us made it to the large Pena castle for 5 euros via uber. Place was clean, rooms were loud. Bring earplugs. It sounded like I was in Pamplona at running of the Bulls when I woke in the morning. Overall it was a nice stay in a beautiful place in a beautiful fairytale like city.

NEGATIVE POINTS : i) sullen/moody German (perhaps she was just being German, I've experienced this type of thing before) receptionist - lacking any outward friendliness or interest in her job. Also without any real knowledge of the area - I.E. unable to give recommendations for restaurants. Perhaps she needs some traiing in customer service? Shed been there for 2 weeks, you do your research understand the area, or what are you doing working in that specific role. You should be a fountain of knowledge. I suggestion she undergo a reducation programme and visit all attractions in the area. She demonstrated a complete lack of interest of passion for either the region or the job.she was working in. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps it's because she's German, but her attitude was of relative disinterest or indifference. If she'd puzzled or interested to know why I shld be writing such things perhaps she should review very carefully at least 6 Incidents that took place - re: her reaction to various situations etc. ii) perhaps it's a little unfair but another staff member -an American also seem to very little knowledge of the area and I'm sorry to say had a very loud, intensely irritating New Yorker accent, which after a while is a bit tiresome... iii) Dormitory rooms on 2nd floor are next to the bathroom - perhaps I was unlucky but my bed next to bathroom - sound insulation not so good, could hear everything. Iv) bathroom on 1st floor is a not terribly good or professional conversion from a room that was not previously a bathroom. The showers and toilet cublicles are too small and rather basic ( especially for the number of people who could potentially use it) V) total public space in living room area is too small for total number of guests. Vi) there seemed to be a number of young teenagers staying there because they were on internships at the nearby ritz-carlton - although cool, I objected to being woken up in early hours because they'd forgotten their key card , their whispering for long periods of time and smoking week on balcony which blew into room. They should be given a private room in which they can behave how they like VII) breakfast not great... POSITIVE POINTS I) Marcelo very helpful 2) beautiful contemporary design of main public space and lovely kitchen 3) great garden 4) relaxing. 5) clean. 6) would recommend

Une bonne adresse où nous passée 3 nuit avec nos 2 enfants. Personnel super, lieux propice aux rencontres, belle demeure ou l'on se sent très vite à l'aise, déco originale et prix correct... Un super point de chute pour visiter Sintra.

Stayed for 2 weeks. Rooms were large, bright, and clean. Large garden, with campfire. Lounge was very social and well decorated. Bathrooms did not match the quality, were poorly constructed cubicles. Cornflakes and toast for breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about local area. Location is perfect, in the centre of the attractions.
