Personnel très accueillant/ souriant/ professionnelLa propreté est à revoir! Exemple dans la salle de bain derrière la porte il y avait des cheveux collés au sol! Le prix est exorbitant pour une mini chambre sur le palier d’entrée de l’immeuble, où nous entendions tous les bruits (personnes qui entrent/ personnes au petit dej) nous n’avons pas dormi une seule nuit correctement! De plus le système de volets ne met pas la chambre dans le noir complet!De manière générale, l’hôtel est très correct et le personnel au top! Seul le prix est exorbitant en rapport au confort et aux prestations proposées!

Beautiful converted mansion, great staff, excellent breakfast, walking distance to town. Nearby padaria with bread/salad/pizza for light meals. Good local restaurant (Augusta) up the hill a few blocks in Lapa.

Die Unterkunft hat einen eigenen ganz tollen Charme durch die hohen Decken, Stuck, alte Fliesen etc. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und gut überholt. Frühstück für ein 2 Sterne Hotel auch vollkommen ausreichend und gut, der Service ist nur leider beim Abräumen und nachfüllen nicht wirklich hinterher gekommen. Ansonsten aber alles top!

Hotel en Porto a un kilómetro del centro. Andando en 15 minutos. Para de taxis en la puerta. Tiene escaleras a la entrada pero desde el parking hay ascensor directo a las habitaciones o recepción. El desayuno correcto y economico, no es espectacular pero sirve su propósito. El parking barato 11€ noche. Las habitaciones bien teniendo en cuenta que es un edificio antiguo. Quizás la falta de calefacción en invierno sea un inconveniente pues en el baño no hay, solondispone de aire acondicionado con bomba de calor

Lovely hotel! Convenient location to shopping, dining, train, sightseeing.
Excellent staff, that speak English. Great breakfast. Beautiful, comfortable rooms with polished white marble bathrooms. Very clean. Beautiful historic features. Nice view of a pretty park. I have stayed here twice. Both times were an excellent experience.

Apenas gostámos até entrar no quarto. Perdeu pontos pois o quarto que nos calhou cheirava muito a tinta e mofo, nao foi arejado, foi muito dificil adormecer.

Un peu cher, mais hotel tout neuf, super décor, bon petit déjeuner, petit Bmol, fait payer une place de parking pour un moto, alors que l'on prend la place d'une voiture avec 4 motos, donc 1 moto 4fois moins cher normalement, que tout avec un groupe de 8 motos, m'enfin. Cela ne change rien à la qualité générale

Hotel muito acolhedor. É um prédio antigo restaurado e mobiliado com muito bom gosto. Escolhemos este hotel por ficar próximo do Hospital da Lapa, e foi uma bela surpresa pela positiva quando chegamos ao hotel. Quarto muito espaçoso e com todas as comunidades. Será hotel a voltar na nossa próxima estadia no Porto!!

Das Gebäude mit den alten Bodenfliesen und dem Stuck an der Decke war super schön! Unser Zimmer war Recht klein, wenig Ablagefläche, aber es war alles sauber und ordentlich. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls überschaubar von der Auswahl, es wurde allerdings immer zügig nachgefüllt und auch war qualitativ nichts zu beanstanden

Petit hôtel de centre ville très calme et facile d'accès. Un peu vieillot dans sa décoration, la chambre était néanmoins confortable et une place de parking était disponibles dans la cour, pratique en centre ville. Tarifs abordables.

Posizione abbastanza comoda per raggiungere il centro. Buona colazione e camera bella, ampia, con soffitto affrescato e bagno nuovo. Mancano però delle comodità, come sedia in camera, armadio(solo un appendiabiti) e accessori in bagno. Comunque, valutazione nel complesso positiva.

Super personeel, af en toe een graphe en je mag ze alles vragen maar blijven op de achtergrond wat wij op prijs stellen. Voor een 2 sterrenhotel vind ik dit top!Er is een tv op de kamer aanwezig en voldoende ruimte. Enige nadeel was dat wij aan de straatkant lagen (geen last van lawaai) en er geen verduisterende gordijnen zijn. Wij werden dus elke morgen rond 6u wakker van het licht. Het ontbijt is basic maar alles aanwezig; zoet en zout beleg, ontbijtgranen, fruit, ook de fenomenale paste de nata (portugees gebak) en een super lekkere huisgemaakte cake met kaneel zijn elke ochtend aanwezig. Er is een koffiezetapparaat waaruit je alle mogelijke drankjes kan halen. Wij hadden een top veeblijf en gaan zeker terug!

Remodelado, con encanto. Las habitaciones del sótano con poca luz y algo de humedad, pero limpias, si no vas a vivir en el hotel sino solo dormir, más que suficiente. Aire acondicionado funcionando bien. Desayuno buffet adecuado.

The hotel is an absolute historical gem. The architectural features are wonderful and everything was spotlessly clean. The street is noisy at rush hour traffic, but The Rex is comfortable and only 15 minutes walk from busses and underground.

Hotel de dos estrellas con buena relación calidad/precio, un trato muy profesional y amable por parte de los empleados, que además nos recomendaron que hacer y visitar y donde comer, las habitaciones bastante bien amplias cómodas y el baño amplio y limpio, aunque he de decir que la insonorización de era del todo buena. Además muy bien ubicado el hotel.

El primer error fue contratarlo directamente con el hotel,tuvimos que anularlo por motivos personales y fue una odisea volver a contratarlo, cogimos otra fecha y nos aumentaron el coste de la habitación, más de 200 euros al final.La habitación bastante normal eso sí muy limpia. Es un hotel de 2 estrellas. El personal muy agradable. A las 9 nos fuimos a desayunar pues hasta las 12 no teníamos que dejar el hotel y cual fue mi sorpresa que me dijeron que si quedaba ya liquidada la habitación pues teníamos parking también, una decepción.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, die zuvorkommend die Wünsche der Gäste erfüllen. Bei meinem Aufenthalt hatte ich ein sehr geräumiges Zimmer mit einem sehr sauberem Zimmer und hervorragendem Blick auf die Stadt. Auch das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und schmeckte sehr gut.

My Mom and I stayed at the Rex Hotel in 2017. It is a beautiful hotel with a lot of history and character. The service was wonderful and the room was splendid; exactly what we needed after a full day of exploring the stunning city of Porto. We arrived at the hotel early for check-in, and the staff kindly let us leave our heavy bags at Reception with them while we discovered Porto until such time that our room was ready. In the evenings, we had tea bags with us which we needed hot water to make. The kind staff provided us with a teapot of hot water every night on request. The hotel itself is so quaint and an attraction in itself! The room we were in was upstairs with a fantastic view of Porto and the park outside, and there was a characteristic elevator or stairs to get to it. The room was huge with a big bathroom and bath tub allowing us to truly just relax and enjoy the town of Porto. The staff were friendly and engaging, also suggesting areas to visit and activities we could do during our stay when we asked. We would go back there in a heartbeat and we definitely recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone; Porto has a very special place in our hearts, a truly beautiful place. Thank you to the delightful staff!

Clean and comfortable hotel. Fullfills your basic needs for a good night's sleep. People are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was okay. Now, for the downside...stayed there 4 nights. 1..Key for room never locked. Had to get someone to lock my room each time I left. 2..Hard to navigate the shower without flooding the bathroom. 3..Breakfast filled you up but not worth 7 EU. 4..Very expensive for a 2 star hotel. By the time I paid for everything, it came to $140 a night. I stayed in Lisbon and the Algarve with swimming pool & breakfast at 4 star hotels for under $100. 5..They should list on their website that it is 1/2 mile walk down steep hills for restaurants and sightseeing buses. Not a good location for older people or people with health problems. Will not recommend or stay here again.

This is a really nice old character hotel.Its got really high ceilings, ornate plaster work and lovely tiles.Our room was huge and even had a room sized terrace but oddly no out door furniture to use.Breakfast was fresh and tasty but with a fairly limited choice.The hotel is a little way out of town about a 15 minute walk down a steep hill to the main square and train station.while this might seem like a disadvantage it means you go by dozens of local bars that you wouldnt even know were there. Its also handy for the airport as its about 8 or 10 minutes to either lapa or trinadade metro stations which go directly to the airport.

Comfy beds, good wifi, good showers and a really friendly face in Jorge at the desk. Price was very reasonable too and the only minor issue I had is it is a little way from the river and the cool and interesting area. A very minor issue as it is a stimulating and interesting walk back of 1.5 km which helps digest all that fabulous food to be found in Porto.

Partiamo col dire che è un due stelle. Quindi il mio voto è più che positivo nonostante alcune mancanze. Molto bella la struttura stile vecchia Porto, con tante parti molto ben conservate. La mia stanza al primo piano aveva affaccio diretto sulla via e porta di ingresso sull'androne, per cui poca intimità. Era comunque molto ampia e con decorazioni originali. In camera è presente un appendiabiti in piena vista, non un vero armadio. Il bagno discreto, ma manca aerazione. La colazione direi più che soddisfacente, con pasteis de nata molto buone. Il titolare molto simpatico è un punto in più. Ci tornerei.

A beautiful boutique hotel with a lot of character. Located at walking distance from City center and the Ponte Luis. The hotel is built in a 169 year old mansion, and has preserved much of it's structure, with beautiful high ceilings and windows. It also has a wooden staircase that's great for Instagram photos. Nice service, friendly staff, great location. Loved it!

Experiencia terrible. Pongo una estrella por que parece que no se puede poner menos.
Teniamos reserva para una habitacion deluxe con dos mini mascotas, dato que dejamos claro en todo momento a lo largo del proceso de reserva. Al llegar al hotel los recepcionistas nada amables y poco empaticos nos dicen que en esa habitacion no se puede con las perritas. Si queremos alojarnos noz ofrecen como alternativa una habitacion con una mini ventana que parece de servicio. Tuvimos que irnos del hotel y buscar alojamiento en otro lado.

I walked into this hotel because my phone died and I was lost, so I asked their staff if I could use a charger to get a little battery. Once I told them my situation, they told me that they couldn’t give it to someone who wasn’t staying there and then proceeded to turn away as if I was not there. If the staff was nice and helpful, then I would have been inclined to stay here in future trips and recommend it to my friends. Unfortunately, this hotel apparently lacks all courtesy.

Unser sehr kleines minimal eingerichtetes Zimmer lag direkt an der Rezeption. Durch die normale Zimmertür konnten wir die vielen Reklamationen der anderen Gäste hören. Im Keller des Hotels soll es noch ungemütlichere Zimmer geben. Anscheinend gibt es nur zwei oder drei schöne Zimmer, die dann im Internet mit ansprechenden Fotos angeboten werden.

Nuestra habitación grande, limpia y con un baño bonito. Con dos ventanas con mucha luz. Las camas muy cómodas y gigantes.
El hotel se equivocó y nos reservó una habitación con cama de matrimonio en vez de dos sencillas como habíamos pedido. Así que nos cambiaron a una suite con camas de 2 metros para cada uno.
Así que gracias al personal por ese gesto y ayudarnos a pasar unos días geniales en Oporto.
Hotel para repetir.

Palacete reformado respetando ventanas y techos, muy bonito.
Baños y duchas nuevos.
Bien localizado, cerca del metro i del centro, se puede ir caminando.
Habitaciones familiares ( fuimos con 2 niños y nos alojamos en la suit) muy grandes y espaciosas.
Todo muy limpio, personal muy amable.

I absolutely loved this place. It has a very cosy and historical interior. I was put in one of the rooms that was right next to the main entrance and the windows were facing the main street. It was a bit strange to be honest, I didn't feel too safe during my first night as I could hear all drunk people passing by my door ( the door is old, so not too secured). The reason I gave it max points is because of how clean and beautiful the place was, friendly receptionist, very centrally situated, cafes and bars nearby...and of course very good price!

Por dentro te sorprende muchisimo, habitación gigante, todo recién reformado, baño muy bonito, han dejado los techos originales y es un gran acierto, el balcón a la pza muy socorrido, el personal muy muy atento, el desayuno humilde pero bueno, a las puertas autobuses que te bajan al centro.
Sin lugar a dudas si vuelvo a Oporto repetiré

The location was good, and wasn't very far from.the center of Porto. The rooms were clean and spacious. The service was good, with a 24 hour reception one can check-in or checkout at the times needed. All in all a good experience.

Vieil hôtel au charme suranné, colle bien avec l'atmosphère mélancolique de Porto. Dispose d'un parking, une bénédiction en plein centre ville. Bien placé. Bon en revanche, la chambre ainsi que la salle de bain ne sont plus de la toute première jeunesse. La datation au carbone 14 fait remonter aux années 80. Ce n'est pas rédhibitoire. Le petit déjeuner est copieux, buffet à volonté. Ascenseur à éviter pour les claustrophobes, il est un peu capricieux (bloqué entre 2 étages pendant quelques minutes interminables)

Nice place. Rich interiors, good sanitary, personal parking, though not for free. Breakfast is little bit modest. No omelette.

Very basic and quite outdated. The old air condition in the room did not work. The TV box could be considered an antique.... area is convenient but not attractive.

Wir hatten Anfang Oktober sehr gutes Wetter und konnten uns vorwiegend im Ort und Umgebung aufhalten. Im ungemütlichen Zimmer (ein einziger Stuhl, zwei wacklige Tische) war wirklich nur Gelegenheit zum Schlafen und Duschen gegeben. Im Hotel selbst keine Möglichkeit der Freizeitgestaltung. Frühstücksraum groß aber wenig möbiliert, ungemütlich. Wir frühstückten außerhalb. Schranktüren mit Papier befestigt, kaum Kleiderbügel, keine Fächer in den Schränken. Wir hatten noch einen kleinen Raum mit einem Bett, worauf wir unsere Kleidung ablegen konnten. Im Bad keine Ablagen, Waschbecken hatte viele Sprünge, Badewanne zeigte Schimmelspuren, einzige Steckdose war mit Tesaband verklebt, teilweise hatten wir kein warmes Wasser. Am ersten Tag streikte der Fahrstuhl, und wir mußten mit den Koffern unbeleuchtete schmale Treppen bis in die 4. Etage hochsteigen. Personal war freundlich aber reserviert. Als 2-Sternehotel kann man eben nicht mehr erwarten, hatten aber da schon andere gute Erfahrungen. Selbst in Hostels war es besser.

Its by no means a fancy hotel but your the cost we were very happy with our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. A little bit of a walk to the main sights, but we didnt think it was that bad. Anywhere you stay in Porto will have you walking up and down hills to explore anyway. Service was fantastic. Special mention to Jorge who went out of his way to help us and really turned our tough day around!! Thank you so much. Interesting old building too.

We came to Porto with great expectations and the City, its inhabitants, food and drink didnt disappoint.We will be back.❤As to the hotel, we prefer independent hotels to big chains. Once again we were not disappointed, for a 2 star hotel, we got a central location, about 15 mins from centre and majority of museum and points of interest. Lapa station round the corner , with all 5 lines passing through it is really convinient if yoy plan to travel further afield. The hotel Room was clean , bathroom was spacious and what I say a typical portuguese bathroom looked like. There is a huge wardrobe, confortable bed. I loved the period features in the room and troughout this charming hotel. We were on a budget , so got the cheapest room right opposite reception as were out early b4 8:30, noise was not a issue for us as we live in noisy busy area, but you may want to take ear plugs with you if you are a light sleeper or intend to sleep in late. To resume we loved our stay, the staff were really helpful and friendly. I even got my little historical tour of hotel.

Lo mejor es el precio y las instalaciones a compartir. Me dieron una habitación en el -1, es decir por debajo del nivel de la acera exterior, las ventanas estaban a nivel de la acera y no se podian abrir, el mobiliario y el baño del año mariacastaño.

Aufgrund des Internetauftritts und der Info, dass das Hotel renoviert wurde, habe ich mich für meinen 10tägigen Aufenthalt für dieses Hotel entschieden. Ich war sehr enttäuscht; denn leider wurde ich im Parterre untergebracht: ein Zimmer ohne Aussicht, die beiden Fenster waren mit Verblendung. Direkt neben dem Zimmer der Technikraum - an Ausschlafen war nicht zu denken, denn den Lift im Haus hörte man in Lautstärke eines Presslufthammers. Die Zimmerausstattung: Betten gut, aber das Bad im 80er Jahre Stil und ziemlich verschimmelt. Leider wurde meiner Bitte auf einen Zimmerwechsel nicht entsprochen, ich hätte mich gefreut, wenn das wenigstens für wenige Tage möglich gewesen wäre. Alles in Allem ein sehr enttäuschendes Hotel, die Fotos entsprechen nicht dem, was es verspricht.

Antiguo edificio señorial. La habitación que me dieron tiene vistas a la plaza y es luminosa pues tiene tres enormes ventanales. El techo mantiene su antigua decoración con pinturas. La decoración es sencilla pero con gusto. El personal es superamable, incluso nos dejó aparcar antes de la hora de coger la habitación.

A very nice hotel in a truly gorgeous art-nouveau house! The room was apparently one of the newest ones opened and the door to the room is actually outside the main door of the hotel, right at the top of the stairs leading to the main entrance. This also means that the street noise is quite present in the room. The room was very nice, with an extremely comfortable mattress and a lovely bathroom. The ceiling was a masterpiece, with intricate carvings and patterns. The bathroom was built as a separate room into the room and featured a stunning shower with a very clean and comfortable bathroom. The concierge was lovely and very friendly, and we even got a small tour from the manager in the beautiful house. Additionally, two metro stations were only about 7 minute walk away, with a cafe pretty much next door. A wonderful stay all in all!

Very nice hotel, relaxing comfortable the people who work there are nice. And the rooms are kept really clean. I was really impressed with what they did. Definitely recommend if your in the Porto area looking for a quality hotel that isn't going to cost you an arm and a leg.

Bem localizado. Junto a mini mercados, pastelaria tradicional, cafés, correio, hospital da Lapa, cabeleireira entre outros. Junto do jardim da Praça da República.
Um atendimento familiar e responsável.
Está com pisos em manutenção e francas melhorias.

Decepcionado fuimos y mucha suciedad, estaban en obras y nos dieron una habitación justo debajo de la zona de la obra, evidentemente nos fuimos del lugar... Nos quiso ofrecer otra habitación pero ya demasiado tarde. Un 10 por Booking que me llamaron al instante para buscar un nuevo hospedaje

Chambres en sous sol,!!!!!!!!!! les fenêtres sont en haut du plafond, avec la rue en haut.... très humide, vieillot , travaux en cours pour réaménagement des chambres à létage, donc bruit sur nos têtes jusquà 22 h y compris le samedi, 1 seule chaise pour 2 , pas détagères dans larmoire donc on ne peut pas ranger le linge, matelas affreux..... dans la salle de bains propre même pas un séchoir ou gel douche..... bref très bas de gamme. Je ny reviendrai pas et le déconseille.

Nieciekawa okolica, hotel stanowczo ma najlepsze czasy za soba. Male pokoje, czystosc pozostawia duzo do zyczenia. Aczkolwiek wykonczenie w pieknyn kolonialnym stylu.

It seemed to me too much expensive taking in consideration the place, the additional services (zero), no breakfast included within the final price, 25 €... . It is old and it looks dirty.
I didn't sleep well because I could hear the outside (buses, people, birds, etc) noise and the sounds inside the hotel.
The positive one, near the city center and I could leave the luggage until 5 p.m.

He pasado mis vacaciones en el hotel rex,cuando llegamos a la habitación nos sorprendio la decoración antigua el techo desconchado y lo peor fue la cama que podrian comprar otra nueva.La cama es del siglo XVII hace un ruido espantoso y es muy muy incomoda,esta encima lo que se podria decir el colchón de unas tablas. No hay secador de pelo aunque pone baño completo, imaginate a 17 grados y con el pelo mojado. Para regular el agua de la ducha hay que ir a la Nasa eso es imposible de regular la fria de la caliente..conclusión ..mejor quedate en tu casa en las vacaciones..o rascate el bolsillo y vete a un hotel en condiciones.

Находились в отеле 5-6 августа 2014 года. Оказались там случайно, без бронирования. У нас был перенесен рейс на двое суток; и мы были вынуждены вернуться в город и искать ночлег. В горячий сезон не советую туристам оказаться в подобном положении. Свободных мест нигде не найдете. Уже потеряв надежду на какой-нибудь кров, мы оказались в отеле REX. Персонал отнесся с пониманием и предложил единственный свободный на одну ночь номер. Позже пообещали другой номер еще на ночь. Огромное спасибо им. Отель замечательный. Тихое, уютное местечко совсем рядом с центром. Поблизости есть все. В пешеходной доступности Центральный жд вокзал, станция метро Тринидада с пересадками на все линии, магазины, кафе. Полный список удобств за очень небольшие деньги. Они не заслуживают 2 звездочки. Я даю им твердые 3. Рекомендую всем.

It was a cheap hotel and as you can expect for that price, old and musty. We would recommend spending 10 euro's more a night to stay in a slightly better hotel.

Didn't like the fact I was placed in a basement room and that wifi was only available in the common area not in the rooms. Otherwise this budget hotel is situated about 5 minutes from Trinidade metro station which serves most of the lines including the airport line. Relatively close to city centre walkable distance to most sights.
Room and ensuite were pretty big and comfortably sized for a single traveller.

Ok c'était pas cher mais une chambre qui sent la cigarette à plein nez, une chasse d'eau qui fuit tellement fort que nous avons dû couper l'eau, une chambre dont la fenêtre s'ouvre au niveau du trottoir, un wifi uniquement dans le salon commun, un personnel parlant peu anglais

This is an older hotel with rooms and decor to match, but it is a budget hotel so you get what you pay for. The location is great and we walked to most of the sights in the old part of the city. We were attracted to this hotel because we neded to park a hire car and this site showed a good sized car park. Just watch out for Basil Fawlty's Portugese cousin who tried to charge 5 Euros, even though their own hotel information in the room stated parking was free. When I pointed that out at the reception was when Basil came out of hiding and told me to get out and never come back.
