Heerlijk hotel met prachtig uitzicht over Porto, de promenade en de rivieroevers. Mooie, grote schone kamers, overheerlijk ontbijt en hele vriendelijke medewerkers die echt hun best doen om je verblijf leuk en bijzonder te maken.

Great view, good breakfast, lovely atmosphere. Big dining table made it easy to start conversation with fellow travellers.
My only suggestion is for the hostel to invest in better quality pillows. The pillows were too soft I had to use my clothing to supplement.

전반적으로 매우 훌륭한 호스텔 도미토리.
침구도 푹신하고 깨끗하고 화장실도 편리합니다. 다녀본 호스텔 중 컨디션이 제일 좋아요.
다만 투숙객이 많아서 그런건지 직원들 서비스가 훌륭한 것 같지는 않습니다. 직원들이 많은데도 불구하고요.
처음 체크인했을때 직원들이 여럿있었는데 그들끼리 이야기를 한다고 먼저 인사를 한다거나 체크인을 도와주겠다고 이야기하지 않았고, 웰컴드링크를 7시에 제공한다고 해서 갔는데 30분이 지나도 주지 않아서 이야기를 하니 그제야 기다리라고 하다가 만들어주시더군요.
만들어놓고 제것인지 알 수 없게 바에 올려놔서 제건지 한참 뒤에야 알았고요.
첫날 조식은 11시까지라고 해서 10시쯤 늦게 갔는데 조식은 다 떨어져서 채워주지 않았고 잼도 없고 방별로 제공하는 조식 플레이트가 다른데 먼저 호수를 물어보지 않아서 한참 기다리다가 이야기를 했더니 그제야 주셨어요.
개별로 요거트가 제공되는데 요거트는 나오지 않아서 다 먹고나서야 물어봤더니 잊었다고..
다음날은 8시에 맞춰갔더니 괜찮더군요.
전반적으로 고급 호텔을 표방한 호스텔이라 좋았지만 아쉬움이 많이 남았어요.
포르투갈의 다른 호스텔에 비해서 직원들의 친절도가 떨어지는 편이었습니다.
그리고 한국인 정모하는 줄?
한국인들 정말 많았어요.

여기 진짜 개개개개개 좋아요 시설 호텔급이고 창문 열면 강 보이고ㅠㅠㅠㅠ 일몰, 야경 보는 전망대랑도 완전 가깝!!
다만 시내에서 밤 늦게 술 먹고 숙소 들어올때 다리 건너야해서 무조건 택시 타야하는 단점이.... 그래도 이거빼고는 다 좋았음ㅠㅠㅠ

Hostel con excelente ubicación, del lado de gaia con una magnifica vista de Porto. Ubicado junto al rio en un lugar repleto de bares y restaurantes. El hostel es muy moderno y conodo, super limpio y todo impecable. Lo malo, quizas poco ambiente, mucha gente mayor. La cena, por 9.5 euros sin bebida, mala, siempre sopa con arroz revuelto con algo.

10이하 도미토리 전경이 저쪽인 것 같아요.
여기 위치가 샌데맨 와이너리 정문에서 왼쪽이에요.
호스텔 직원들 다들 친절합니다.
체크인 전에 와서 짐 맡겨놓을 수 있어요.
체크아웃하고 나서도 짐 맡겨놓을 수 있구요.
일단 바에서 창밖을 바라보는 뷰가...진짜 이뻐요.
호스텔도 너무 이쁘구요. 깔끔하니..
15?혼성 도미토리는 화장실 및 샤워실이 총 4개에요.
단점은 시내랑 거리가 좀 있어서 걷고 다리 건너고 가파른 언덕 올라가야 되서 캐리어 들고 오시기엔 많이 힘들거에요. 택시 타고 온다고 하셔도 도로 차선이 일방통행인 부분이 많아서 기사님이 삥 돌아가면 요금은 뻥튀기... (구글맵 켜서 택시 타세요)

A nice and down to earth hostel/hotel, which is perfect for visiting the wineries in Nova de Gaia.
The hotel is a located in a historic building, which also has the consequence of being very sensitive to noise. Don't visit this place if you need a calm place to sleep, or if you require a somewhat soft madras.

Excelente hostal de muy buena atención y calidad. Mal desayuno, los cuartos se escuchan las personas arriba y abajo.
La entrada son bastantes escaleras para subir las maletas pero para las personas con alguna dificultad tienen un "ascensor"

Hostel is spectacular. All staffs are friendly. The breakfast is normal (coffee, bread, tapas, orange juice and yorgut). They also have welcome drink and coffee with cake around 5pm.

We we're delightfully surprised at this "hostel" which was exquisitely renovated. Our double room was spacious with incredible views of the river and Porto, also with the charming unexpected presence of a retro vinyl record player with a French Jazz album ready to play. The bath was Euro-chic. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. Especially notable was the excellent hospitality and customer service of the staff. They were truly 5 star in their kindness, welcome, and accomodation of our requests. We own Mayberry Spirits Whiskey Distillery in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and are the #1 Trip Advisor attraction of our town. We understand hospitality, experiences, and treating guests with honor - The House of Sandeman Hostel and Suites has mastered all of these. Great vibe, awesome accommodations, super location and view, incredible staff, and unbelievable affordability. Book a room here and experience Portugese and Porto gracious hospitality! Highly recommend!!!

Great location with an informal and cosy atmosphere and uniquely located within the Sandeman Port wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Stylish and very modern bunk beds for travellers looking for lower prices and close to the city of Porto. Offer as well of lovely suites with river views. Great breakfast. Excellent option for the tourist wanting to be very close to Porto but not right in the city. Recommended.

히베이라 지역을 감상하기에 가장 좋은 지역이면서 와이너리가 밀집해 있어 다양한 와이너리를 방문하기도 좋았다. 동루이스 다리와 가까워서 저녁에 동루이스 다리 위에서 본 일몰도 너무 훌륭했다. 4박을 하는 동안 침구 정리를 매일 해 주었고, 난방, 온수 모두 훌륭해서 춥지 않게 지낼 수 있었다. 카드키로 락커를 사용할 수 있는데 보안이 잘 되는 점도 좋았다. 호스텔에서 샌드맨 와이너리투어를 예약할 수 있는데 직접 와이너리에서 하는 것보다 2유로정도 싸게 할 수 있는 것 같다. 또한 샌드맨의 다양한 와인을 비에서 합리적인 가격에 먹어볼 수 있다. 포르투에 다시 온다면 꼭 샌드맨에 묵을 것이다.

Amazing place. The suites are great with a lovely vinyl player and spectacular view. The breakfast was very tasty and very good variety. The staff is very sweet, nice and helpful. I want to come back and I surely recommend to everyone. Also, the are could not be better as you have an amazing view of the city of Porto and you reach it in 7m walk.

Our room was really comfortable and clean. Breakfast options were great too! As for the location, it was situated not far from the city centre and very walkable. It was really nice to wake up to a beautiful view of Porto every morning.

Es importante cuando vienes a Oporto ver Oporto porque es una ciudad maravillosa y una de las más bonitas de Europa para este motivo debes quedarte en frente de oporto. Esta casa albergue precisamente te ofrece eso el poder ver Oporto desde un lugar privilegiado. Tan solo tiene una habitación suite que da al río, pero si puedes reservar la es impensable la vista que vas a tener. El personal es muy amable. Los acabados y decoración es buena. El desayuno está bien aunque no hay la posibilidad de escoger lo que deseas. El ambiente de la clientela es bueno

The nicest hostel I've ever been to. Big, comfortable beds in the shape of wine barrels. A great common room that felt cosy and comfortable to hang out in and sip on some port while watching Harry Potter on the communal TV (JKR came up with many of the concepts for the series while living in Portugal).
Only complaint would be privacy. Some drapes to feel like you're not sleeping with everyone staring at you would be a plus.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay, cheaply in Porto. South side of the river, so the view is of the more interesting hill side of Porto. Shared bedrooms are large, not overcrowded, and very comfortable beds.
Please dont stay here, as I want to make sure there is a bed spare for when I come back in 2019.

직원 들 서비스가 매우 좋습니다. 3명 이서 교대 근무 하시고 있는것 같으며 프론트에 1명 이상 꼭 대기 중이며 휠체어 분들도 이용 하시기 정말 좋은 시설 입니다. (대신 호스텔 오시는 도로는 1~2 군데 노면 상태가 않좋습니다. 꼭 차량 이용해서 오시길 그리고 바로 와인셀러 참가 희망 하시면 전화로 바로 예약 해드린 후 조그만한 네모난 종이를 드립니다. 시음 하시고 십다면 시음 도 하실꺼라고 말씀 하시고. 와인 셀러매장 티켓 도 꼭 받아가시길 <전 안받아서 시음 못했습니다. 참고 하시길요. Ps 현지 매장 사장님에게 물어보고 시음 했는데 30세 랑 40세 꼭 마셔보시길

Without a doubt the best hostel I've ever been to. There was a nice attention to detail when this place was designed and decorated. Nice rooms with large and comfy beds, great common space offering amazing views of the Douro river and the Ribeira. Good breakfast and hostel dinner which I highly recommend. They also rent bikes for way cheaper than all rental places. Also, the staff plays a great part in making your experience around the city even better with recommendations of things to see and restaurants. The level of hospitality here is higher than most luxury hotels.

This hostel was an amazing experience. I got there before checkin time and they let me go to the room early since I was exhausted from traveling which was very nice. The place was very clean and the 8-bed rooms have two bathrooms so there is no waiting and they were kept in excellent condition. The bed was soooo comfortable and I slept soundly. The lobby was inviting and the breakfast was really good, especially since it was included and I found the staff to be extremely helpful. The airport transfer was very helpful as well and I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Porto! Excellent job

14인실치고 너무 비싸다고 생각했는데 3일 머물면서 충분히 그럴만 하다고 생각했습니다. 14인실이지만 방이 엄청 넓어요. 양쪽으로 7개씩 놓여 있는데 보통의 2층 침대랑 달라요. 지그재그로 되어 있어서 개인 공간이 넓어요. 침대 자체도 매트리스가 길고 커요. 그래서 14명이 함께 방에 있어도 답답하거나 붐비는 느낌이 없습니다. 방 문 열고 나가면 화장실 겸 샤워실이 네 개 있습니다. 샤워헤드와 샤워기가 모두 있고 샴푸 겸 바디젤도 있어요. 향이 굉장히 좋아요^^
아침은 리셉션에서 먹는데 간단하게 요거트, 쥬스, 커피, 사과나 오렌지, 치즈, 크로와상 정도에요.
보통 볼량역 쪽에 숙소가 많은데 강 건너가 좋은 건 창 밖으로 늘 이렇게 예쁜 풍경이 보인다는 거죠. 리셉션에서 보는 야경도 최고에요.
포르토에 머물면서 gaia hostel, yes! Hostel, passenger hostel, sandeman hostel에 묵었는데 다시 오면 sangeman에만 쭉-있고 싶네요.
* 직접 가서 예약 했더니 1박에 24유로 였어요. 수건은 보증금 5유로.

Wir waren 5 Tage im The House of Sandeman. Unser Doppelzimmer war sauber, stylisch und mit allem notwendigen ausgestattet. Einzig ein Kleiderschrank fehlte mir, da ich meine Kleider gerne aus dem Koffer nehme.
Das Personal ist hilfsbereit, es können jedoch nicht alle Englisch. Beim Frühstück waren wir etwas enttäuscht. Es gab ein Plättli pro Person mit Käse und Fleischaufschnitt, Früchten, Brot und Yoghurt. Leider war es schon beim zweiten Mal etwas langweilig. Zweimal liesen wir das Frühstück saussen, auch weil ich das Geschirr etwas schmutzig fand, was ich zu hause verzeihen kann aber nicht in einem Hotel.
Das Badezimmer ist übrigens wunderbar eingerichtet, leider war das Wasser nicht immer gleich warm, aber das kommt öfters vor in südlichen Gegenden. Porto ist sehr zu empfehlen. Ich war mehr als positiv überrascht.
Und das house of sandeman ist für unkomplizierte Reiser bei einer Dauer unter einer Woche auch sehr gut geeignet.

This the best hostel I had ever been!!! It is located in the "downtown" of Vila Nova de Gaia, next to the Vinho Porto's wine caves, which means it is 5 minutes walking to Porto city center. The staff is amazingly helpful. The breakfast is excellent too with croissant, orange suice ("real" one), cake, Yogurt with granola, etc. I slept in a 14 bed dorm. In this kind of dorm, you have 4 WC which were always tidy and cleaned. The bed have a "different" shape of a barrel and it is a very very nice touch. Thank you for everything, definitely the best hostel I had ever been!

The staff are great! You get real people who care about your stay. You don't get the perfunctory smile from the staff. Sure a dorm can have snoring, ear plugs help. Breakfast great. Needs nothing to improve. The best hostel I've stayed at in the world.

Lugar maravilloso. Las habitaciones super bonitas y la limpieza excelente. Tuvimos problemas con la reserva a través de la página web por lo que recomiendo Booking totalmente. La solución que nos dieron no fue la mejor pero en general la experiencia muy buena. El desayuno también bastante completo aunque para ser un hostel un poco caro.

Pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Amazing location, beautiful suites, incredible staff, delicious breakfast all included in great price. Dinner at The George was very good (50% off voucher for the resto was presented to us at check-in). Stayed 2 nights and wanted to extend but was fully booked. Will recommend to our friends and would absolutely stay here again!

Loved this hostel! The rooms are beautiful - huge beds in large rooms with lots of space. Everything was very clean. The staff were really nice and helpful. The included breakfast was delicious and served in a lovely common room. While it's on the other side of the river to the centre of town, there is a beautiful view from the terrace and many nice restaurants nearby. Definitely would recommend!

Lovely hostel, quiet, clean and super friendly reception staff. I stayed at another hostel on the other side of the river. This one has a much nicer, friendlier atmosphere and great customer service. I'd stay here again. And as an architect, there are lots of well thought out elements, lovely cork everwhever and fun dorm beds.

Endroit flamboyant, le mobilier est moderne et distingué. Le staff est chaleureux, la zone commune est chaleureuse avec une vue sur le Douro. L’emplacement est parfait. Le déjeuner est excellent, et le souper collectif cuisiné par l’auberge est bon et abordable.
J’ai pu louer un vélo pour la journée pour environ 5 euros. Bref, c’est la plus belle auberge de Porto.

Sin duda uno de los mejores albergues en los que he estado. Decorado perfectamente, cómodo, un personal agradable que domina el castellano y el inglés a la perfección.
Unos baños envidiables, limpios y nuevos; camas cómodas y amplias ademas situadas de manera que sientes cierta intimidad aún compartiendo habitacion con 13 personas.
El desayuno incluído en el precio muy bueno.

Best View of Hotel, they have given me River View room. It is PERFECT.
Room is big, bed is nice. Hotel is clean. Food is excellent!
Hotel is at river side. Many stalls selling many things, from souvenir to foods. Many restaurants. There is a market not too far away. We love this place.
Vegetarian dinner is available.

Ce séjour a été l'un de mes plus beaux avant tout grâce à l'hospitalité qui régnait dans ces lieux. Ils sont apaisants, beaux, accueillants. Le personnel est adorable. La localisation de cet hôtel est très certainement des meilleures. Je vous le recommande vivement. N'hésitez pas à me poser des questions mais la bonne humeur suffit à passer un magnifique séjour. Bon voyage les amis !

특히 이골(Egol)이란 스태프분이 체크인해주셨는데 정말 친절하셧어요! 그리고 여자스탭분께 이런저런 질문을 많이 햇는데 친절하게 다 답변 해주셧어요!
위치때문에 고민 많이 햇는데 포르투는 우버가 워낙 싸기 때문에 저는 큰 문제 없다고 생각합니다!

Avoid! I arrived at the end of a long day's travel with a room reservation, to be offered a bed in a dorm! I ended up paying Brussels prices for 1 night in a double room. And the place appears to be full of young women who don't wash! I left as fast as possible next day.
Needless to say, we'll be having words. And since I'm a journo, they'll be public.

Great value! A little bit of walking from most of touristic spots, but Porto is a small city. I enjoyed the river view from the lounge. Very clean, well maintained, friendly staffs. Simple yet great breakfast on the big table with other guests. It was nice staying:)

Stayed in a 14 female dorm room didn't feel any uncomfortable!
Port shape of beds, spacious room, 4 individuals bathroom for these 14 guests but has a door in between so doesn't make the room noisy or humid! Was there for 4 nights and never had to wait for bathroom too! Lockers secured and can only access with your room card, free and really good breakfast. The only tricky points is there's not much social atmosphere which was a shame cuz everything else was perfect! Not a problem if you wanna enjoy the city yourself and it very depends on who are staying in the hostel during your stay too, luckily met few female solo travelers on the last two nights but hostel itself doesnt have a social kinda vibe! Also! the paid port wine tour was very informative and you get to try different kinda of port wine. (Definitely do the premier one, totally worthy!)
(Took a bus from Lisbon to Porto and uber from bus station to hostel was 4 euro! Located close enough to everything that you can walk everywhere in the town!)

Gratamente sorprendido, tanto de la atención y amabilidad de recepción especialmente la chica que me atendió el martes 11 por la tarde, lamentablemente no recuerdo su nombre pero su amabilidad digna de destacar. También destacar a la cocinera, unas comidas y postres de la vieja escuela, como estar en casa de una madre y en general a todo el personal por su trabajo.
Que digo de la ubicación y sus vistas espectacular. De verdad gracias de nuevo de un motero que se sintió como en casa ❤

Muy bien ubicado (zona de bodegas) pero a unos 10 minutos del centro caminando. Las vistas desde el hotel son un sueño.
La gente de la recepción 10 puntos durante toda la estadía y el desayuno muy completo.

The house of Sandeman was really pleasant place with nice location (right in front of the Dorou river), nice facilities and nice staffs. If you try to get here from St. Bento station, please take an Uber, do not try to walk :)

Très chouette place pour loger à Porto quelques jours.
De l'accueil, au petit-déjeuner en passant par la qualité du lit et la vue, nous avons été plus que satisfaits.
De plus, la période étant calme mi-décembre, l'Equipe nous a offert le surclassement et nous avons pu bénéficier de la chambre avec vue. C'était une très bonne surprise !
La chambre était du coup presque trop grande pour nous mais avec cette vue, c'était grandiose.

엄청난 뷰 :) 맞은편에서 보는 뷰보다 환상적이에요.
관광지를 가기 위해서 다리를 건너야하는데 다시 돌아올땐 야경을 볼 수 있어서 너무 좋아요 . 조식도 잘챙겨주고 무엇보다 직원들이 친절해요 :) 다음에도 여기와서 지낼 생각이에요

우선 가격이 저렴하다.
도미토리라는 말이 무색할 만큼 방이 넓고 매트리스도 1.5배 정도의 넓은 크기다! 입실 때 쓰는 카드키로 잠그고 여는 개인 사물함도 제공되어 자물쇠가 필요없다.
14인실에서 7명이 있었는데 4명이 한국인이었다.
한국인 스텝이 있을 정도.
조식도 위치도 그리고 밤에 한인들과 나눠 마시는 포트와인.
가장 즐거운 추억이 되었다.

Great atmosphere, excellent location, very welcoming and very friendly staff. The hostel offered a welcome drink (free) and dinner (with another drink), for just 8e, which you have with other travelers over a table, where I made friends. The breakfast was also great. The bed-to-toilet ratio is 12ish: 4. The bathroom and the shower are together. However, I must make a complaint about the curtain over the bed. It looks nice on photo, but having only one curtain cover one side of the bed means people in the big room will wake you up at night with the door or the lamps. Maybe because I was a light sleeper, but some of the Korean guys in my room seemed to have been partying all night and they were making noise from 2 am to 5 am, and I had the worst sleep here than any other hostels in this trip. My friend said she had no problem sleeping in another room. Other than that it's an excellent hostel. Just bring ear plugs and sleep mask if you're a light sleeper like me.

이렇게 좋은데 왜 예약할 때 망설였나 싶었다. 이 정도 수준의 호스텔 시설은 처음이었다. 도미토리 침대 사이즈도 넓고 매트리스 폭신, 겨울이라 추울까 걱정했지만 난방도 아주 잘 됐고 개인 수납공간과 화장실이 대박. 조식도 맛있고 웰컴 드링크로 주는 루비와인+스파클링 음료도 맛있다.

The House of Sandeman Hostel deserves all five stars and more. Everything, from our warm and informative check in to our check out was outstanding. Our room was spacious and modern, with an ensuite bath. The breakfast was a great start and one evening we had a truly memorable meal at the restaurant. The location was perfect for us - near the gondola and an easy walk across the bridge.
Our entire visit to Porto (& Gaia) was incredible and the House of Sandeman Hostel added such an additional positive note to our trip.

Stayed recently at the Sandeman! This is the BEST hostel I have stayed and they've set the bar so high that I feel no other hostel is able to beat it in the near future.
The location was excellent. Right across the river you have the beautiful city of Porto and the Ruiz bridge a stone throwaway. Many restaurants around Sandeman and this makes it easier for a dining experience.
Stayed in a dorm and my privacy was well protected with how they've aligned the bed and also the drapping of sheets from one bed to another. Simply amazing!
The room itself was very spacious, dim lights and 2 full baths. The bath products smells good on my skin too!
The staffs at Sandeman are friendly and I had no problems dealing with them from the onset. If ever I return to Porto in future - I will make sure to try their other room types as well. I will highly recommend anyone to stay here.

El tío de la capa. Bonita bodega que conocí hace más de 30 años. Interesante las cotas de crecida del Duero que se reflejan en la puerta. Y los precios del vino más o menos como en todas partes, menos en algunas tiendas del centro de Oporto donde te puede salir bastante más caro.

Excellent location, facilities are great, staff are very helpful. $7.50 meal offered every evening with various local cuisines everyday, very generous portion sizes and well worth the money. Rooms are aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly functional as well. Well worth to sign up for the discounted Sandeman port wine tasting tour as well. Overall excellent experience, would definitely stay here again.

도우루 강변앞이라, 조식 먹으며 바라보는 강도 좋구요 조식도 잘 나오구 친절하고 오전 오후 한국인 스탭이 있어요
14명방에 어뜩해 자나했는데, 침대 높낮이가 다르고 샤워실이 4개라 기다리지도 않아요-
한국인이 많지만, 뭐 좋아서 많은거죠
늦게 포르투 들어가서 이틀 지냈는데 만족해요

It's located the opposite side from city center but it doesn't matter. You can cross the river by walk. The facilities are perfect. The most attractive point is free breakfast!

Very satisfied. This hostel deserves an award. Customer servise is exceptional. Tidiness and comfort was all there. Rooms are very spacious. Location is absolutely superb. Ive been doing the camino for the last 30 days and felt like i walked into the Ritz Carlton. What ever bad experience you may have is not because of the hostel, its because of other people staying there that are not clean or thoughtful. $5 towel deposit free welcome drink.

깨끗하고 넓고 화장실 많아서 전혀 붐비지 않았습니다. 다만 도미토리의 경우 침대가 연결되어 있다보니 누가 움직이면 그 라인 침대 전체가 흔들거리긴 했습니다. 조식도 좋고 위치도 좋은데 예민하신 분들은 흔들리는거 잘 느끼실 거에요..ㅎㅎㅎ 그래서 1점 깎았습니다

La zona comune è molto accogliente e gode di un bellissimo panorama!
Buonissima la colazione e la cena in ostello.

Wir haben die erste Etappe unsere Flitterwochen hier verbracht und es war perfekt. Wir hatten Zimmer 7 mit Balkon und wunderschönen Blick auf die Altstadt, wir behaupteten sogar das wir unserer Ansicht nach das schönste Zimmer in ganz Porto hatten. Die Lage war perfekt, das Frühstück war sehr Lecker und die Gastgeber super lieb und zuvorkommend! Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit <3

We had a great stay in the suites. Firstly, the location is amazing as it is on the side of all the cellars and so great to go walking to so many great cellars including Sandeman of course. It is also the side with the better view...since you actually have an amazing view of Porto from the reception/breakfast area. It is also very close to the Luiz bridge and less than 10 mins walk to the other side. Secondly, the location is quieter than the more touristy side of the river. Third, the breakfast in a communal setting is superb. Highly recommend booking with breakfast. Fourth, it is very clean with daily housekeeping. Last but not the least all the staff are fabulous. They were all so welcoming and friendly and always smiling and very responsive. We would definitely come back in a heart beat.

Amazing amazing amazing, the staff, the beds, the attention to detail and the style is exceptional. This is the best boutique hostel/hotel I have stayed in and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quieter more sophisticated experience. They have got it exactly right and I hope they maintain the standard as I’m sure they are going to get more and more popular. Keep the magic and the attention to detail. You have a fantastic concept.

I stayed at the House of Sandeman for two nights and was treated to an amazing view of the Douro at sunset as soon as I made it in. I loved the facilities, from the private key-card rooms, to the cool sheets, the private bathroom, and the full size beds! The instructions they gave me for getting to the hostel would have been better fit for a backpacker than a luggage bearing person like me(aka a ton of cobblestoned stairs), but their instructions took me down an interesting pathway with a ton of sights. I also loved that they were able to store my luggage the day of departure for free and that they were very accommodating with suggestions on where to eat/what to see!

Everything about our stay was incredible. The location could not be beat. The room was impeccably designed and the view from the room was breathtaking. The only thing that could have made the room better were some more lighting fixtures and a dresser. The furniture was sparse which we enjoyed but for two people, there was not enough storage for our clothing so we had to live out of our suitcases. The staff were kind, helpful, and very friendly. The breakfast was amazing.

An interesting place with a very nice atmosphere. Perhaps not fully suited to the business traveller as the room I had did not have a desk to work at. Perhaps I am not the real target customer as everyone else in the hotel was on holiday or travelling on a budget

De los mejores hostels que fui en mi vida. No solo por la ubicación pegada al río con tremenda vista al puente Luis, sino por la calidad del hostel con camas super cómodas y grandes, como por la limpieza y el trato. Las habitaciones de 8 son gigantes y cada una tiene dos baños privados. Dan desayuno que te viene incluido y en la puerta del hostel hay un bar de Sandeman ideal para tomar unos tragos

The wife and I rented the private room, and we were mightily impressed. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was huge, and the view was worth a million dollars. The staff at the desk were helpful, the breakfasts were good, and I have no complaints.

We stayed for four nights in a river view room. Staff were very friendly and breakfast excellent. We were given a discount voucher to the hotels adjacent restaurant that was good value and served very good food.The location of the hotel is perfect to enjoy the vibrant riverside location and amenities. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hostel was one of the nicest and cleanest hostels Ive stayed in. Beautifully designed, well-organized, and lockers were spacious. They thought about the traveller and what they needed. Staff were extremely friendly and breakfast was great. Very well-located. I would stay at this hostel again and recommend it to friends visiting Porto.

6월 중하순, 여성전용 12인실에서 묵었습니다. 3박 예약하고 갔지만, 매우 만족스럽게 이용하여 4박 연장, 총 7박 머물렀습니다.
우선 방 크기가 매우 큽니다. 수입원이 따로 있어서 그런지 공간활용을 보통 호스텔보다 3배 정도 넓게 쓰는 것 같습니다. 방 안에 화장실 겸 샤워실이 네 칸 있어서 편하게 이용했고, 이 역시 넓었습니다. 드라이어도 칸마다 있었고, 옷이나 욕실용품을 걸 수 있는 공간도 충분했습니다. 샤워기는 천장형과 핸디형 모두 사용 가능했습니다. 물 온도 조절, 수압 모두 정상작동 했습니다.
침대 구조가 독특해서 캐리어나 배낭을 두기 편하고, 빨래나 수건을 걸어두기도 적합했습니다. 기존의 2층 침대가 아니라서 낮은 침대나 높은 침대나 별 불편 없이 이용가능할 것으로 보입니다. 방 안에 잠글 수 있는 캐비넷도 마련되어 있었는데, 제가 배정받은 번호는 따로 잠금장치가 없길래 리셉션에 문의했더니 이용가능한 열쇠를 받을 수 있었습니다. 카드키로 열 수 있는 캐비넷도 있었으니 참고하세요.
조식은 치즈, 햄, 크로와상, 요거트, 오렌지 주스가 기본제공 되며, 빵이나 커피, 핫초코, 케이크, 과일 등은 가져다 먹을 수 있게 되어 있습니다. 정갈하고 맛있어서 매일 아침을 기분 좋게 시작했네요 :)
저녁식사를 신청하면 7유로에 먹을 수 있는데, 포르투갈 가정식이 나옵니다. 리셉션에 오늘의 메뉴가 안내되어 있으니 한번 도전해보세요! 저는 닭구이를 먹었는데 밥도 같이 나와서 든든히 먹었습니다. 와인도 아래층 바에서 먹는 것보다 저렴하니 추천합니다.
위치는 상벤투역까지 걸어서 20분 정도 걸리는데, 경사가 좀 심해서 헉헉대며 다니긴 했지만 걷는 걸 좋아하는 편이라 열심히 돌아다녔습니다ㅎㅎ 숙소 쪽에서 보는 풍경도 예쁘고, 숙소 앞 강가에서는 매일 플리마켓도 열리니 구경하는 재미도 있어요. 이 때 Sao Joao 축제? 뿅망치 축제? 기간이었는데, 불꽃축제를 숙소 바로 앞에서 볼 수 있어서 아주 좋았습니다.
와이너리 투어는 당일 아침 10시부터 신청할 수 있는데, 문의하니 와이너리 측에 전화해서 몇시에 투어가 있는지, 무슨 언어로 진행되는지 바로 전달받는 듯 했습니다. 진행 시간은 날마다 바뀐다고 하더라구요. 친절하게 잘 안내받았고, 11유로에 2잔 테이스팅하는 것으로 신청했습니다. 투어는 별로 특별할 것 없이 짧은 시간 진행되었고, 가이드의 간단한 설명과 함께 내부를 구경한 뒤 영상을 보는 것으로 끝입니다. 와인통을 잔뜩 볼 수 있고, 와인이 보이진 않습니다.
직원들은 모두 친절합니다. 한국인이 많아서 그런지, 한국식 친절함에 가깝다고 느꼈습니다 :) 다시 와도 여기서 묵고 싶네요!! 시설과 서비스 모두모두 만족합니다. 괜히 호스텔 보는 눈만 높아져서 걱정이네요ㅠ 추천추천합니다!!bbb

We loved the stay at the house of sendeman. Lovely room with a view of the river. Cold cuts are served for Breakfast and on top of that you can order eggs cooked to you liking. Personal are very helpful, and there place is close to all amenities. They also do a Sandeman tour down in the cellars which I highly recommend doing.

Can't speak highly enough about this place! Wonderful staff (Andreia in particular), great breakfast, and the welcome drink was a really classy touch. The scenery is nice and being on the side of the river where port is made is great for wine lovers. Especially since Sandeman is attached to the hostel and offers some fantastic options for wine tours and tastings. I honestly cannot wait to come back!

The place is amazing. Right in the heart of Porto with an incredible view over the river that hardly any hotel can match. The beds are super comfortable and the lounge room although not very homey is stylish and welcoming. Lot's of friendly foreigners to chat to and an amazing staff that will go out of their way to help you and make your stay a truly unforgetable experience! By far the best hostel i've stayed in.

The best hostel. It was a single bed but very spacious. I could sleep in a quiet room with 8 people. Eight beds are separated, so you can not be disturbed by the noise of people around you. This is a great advantage of this hostel. There were two bathrooms in the 8-bed dormitory, so it was not inconvenient to take a shower. I fell asleep in a moderately dry room with a high ceiling. The staff is friendly and the dining room and seating area are spacious and beautiful. The wine I drank with a welcome drink was really delicious. I was happy when I sat in front of the living room window and watched the night view. I want to visit again.
