These guys are great guys! Helped me out with parking (a customized map made in Paint, I assume!) before my arrival, and took quick action to secure my valuables when I lost my key. Not sure what some of the people who rate this place badly expect from such an inexpensive hostel, but if you are looking for taps made in gold and a silent retreat, you might think twice about going to a youth hostel. I can only send M2Students Hostel my best and say thanks for great hospitality last night. Obrigado!

Staff was nice but the hostel had terrible rooms and they had very few bathrooms (dirty).They could definitely improve the cleanliness of the entire hostel.

one detail was that the housekeeping person took my sheets away by mistake which is fine as a mistake can happen. another detail was that another guest was a pyramid scheme recruiter who sort of followed me around trying to recruit me
but what's not a detail is that next to the bed I stayed in, on the wall, there was BLACK MOULD so thick you could make a trench in it with your finger. you could smell the mould in the entire room and the wall stain was right next to my head when i slept. it's budget accommodation but you have to take care of mould. Porto is humid but that doesn't excuse mould in a hostel

El personal que me atendió a mi llegada, tanto un chico como el otro, fueron encantadores, serviciales y respetuosos conmigo. Me ayudaron en todo, me dieron recomendaciones. El único inconveniente es que en el hostal hacia mucho frío y que el hecho de compartir habitación hizo que me encontrara el baño sucio y sin papel de baño los dos dias que estuve alojada. Las instalaciones dejan mucho que desear pero el precio de cada noche es el que es.

Furchtbar. Schimmel an den Decken an den Wänden einfach überall!! Badezimmer unzumutbar. Ich habe es nach einer gezwungenen Nacht versucht zu stornieren aber sie besitzen null einsicht. Ich bin trotzdem weiter in ein anderes Hostel.

Este es un hostal para quedarse únicamente si usted no tiene más dinero para algo decente, pues las condiciones del lugar en general son malas y si quiere estar un poco cómodo, en definitiva este no es el lugar.
La habitación en la que me alojé no contaba con calefacción, por lo que hacía un frío excesivo. Tenía un par de ventanas a la calle y eso era bueno, pues si permanecían cerradas todo el día, el olor a madera podrida y a humedad se acumulaba de manera insoportable. Debo decir que tenía un baño para las 4 mujeres de la habitación, pero era tan estrecho, que el sanitario no se puede usar a comodidad. Las instalaciones en general son feas y poco cuidadas, antiguas, deterioradas, no agradables. Con la excusa de ser un lugar de bajo costo, ofrecen alojamiento en una propiedad que realmente necesita muchísimas mejoras.
Lo único bueno que tenían era que los tendidos de cama estaban limpios, no así el colchón. No hay agua caliente por más de 5 minutos para cada huésped, la cocina era vieja, deteriorada y poco aseada; el personal de recepción es amable y cordial, pero sin importar la hora, hacen el ruido que quieren.
Entonces, como resumen, si quiere una experiencia al límite de la que no se pueda quejar porque pagó 10 euros la noche y no tenía para más en su presupuesto, vaya. Si está en sus posibilidades pagar cualquier otra cosa mejor, le recomiendo encarecidamente que lo haga.

This is a very beautiful hostel.

The Hostel was broken into on Christmas day. Because the front door dosent lock that well so in order to lock it you need to physically pull the door till you hear the sound. No heating system inside the hostel. No hot water after 2 people take shower. Very very old worn out beds and pillows are in clusters. I would never recommend this hostel to anyone. Nobody at reception most of the time so theft is very easy as our stuff were stolen. Cops are very uselss in Portugal. So if your stuff is stolen then forget about retrieving it unless you put your own effort to getting your stuff back. So the hostel is very unsafe and uncomfortable.

I stayed in this hostel for two nights in December. It was a great place to stay, as it was at walking distance from the city centre, and it had all the amenities you expect for its price. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and the room and the common areas were very clean. The only downside is the lack of heating, but that's normal in Portugal, so remember to take your woolen socks with you. :-)

Bed clothes are comfortable. You receive 1 pillow, 2 sheet, 1 quilt, 1 bedspread, 1 bed, 1 lockable little cupboard where you can protect your valuable things. You get 3 keys, one for the lockable little cupboard, another one for the entrance door, last one for your room. You have a kitchen, so you can cook that you want. In the upstairs you can find some board games and also a good place for game. This hostel really calm, so don't worry about the noise, you can sleep as much as you want.

Hostal en calle céntrica, tiene de TODO cerca.
Hacen limpieza diariamente en las habitaciones y los baños.
El personal muy amable y atento.
Al estar en una calle principal se pueden escuchar los autos pero en general e muy tranquilo.

La posizione è molto comoda, a due minuti a piedi dalla via principale, luogo tranquillo e personale gentile, pulizia migliorabile però nel complesso non è male. La cosa scomoda è che nelle camerata da 6 le prese elettriche erano solo 3 e lontane dalla maggior parte dei letti

Una delusione perché dalle foto sembrava un bel posto invece é una catapecchia, ma il problema piú grande sono i letti. Sono materassi molto molto vecchi e vi assicuro che di ostelli ne ho girati tantissimi, questo era economico e in centro quindi mi sembrava andare bene e invece mi sono ritrovata a fare 2 notti quasi senza riuscire a dormire. C'é sicuramente di meglio.

The place was old and run down.It didnt feel clean.
Sleep was difficult due to traffic noise all night.
The whole place needs to be either totally refurbished or demolished.
Also,why was there an add on charge for leaving early? There was a staff member on duty already

Pior banheiro do mundo. Pior recepcionista da madrugada. Ainda cobraram uma taxa que eu nunca vi em lugar nenhum do mundo, de 2 euros por fazer o checkin antes das 8 da manhã.

We were settled in a room that does not meet our order. The conditions were terrible.
It looks like, the room, in which we were settled, generally do not belong to the hostel, since they have a separate entrance, and the site does not show any photos of such rooms.
Since we booked through Booking service and paid for all 3 days of staying, we asked to move us to another room - reception girl denied our asks, the explanation was "all rooms were busy", even though the building, where we lived, had many free the same style rooms. On request, cancel the reservation for 2 nights with refunding, as the booking does not meet our order, we were denied with our asks.
The conflict could not be solved, as there were no alternative scenarios.

It's defo seen better days. Nobody's staying there and it all just seems a bit dodgy. If you wanna meet people you shouldn't go there. Also quite far away from the city centre.

La Hostal estaba limpia y bien comunicada con el resto de la ciudad. Me entregaron un mapa y me explicaron lo más importante de Oporto y como llegar. Respondieron a todas mis preguntas.

Eu reservei uma cama em dormitório feminino para 2 noites, quando cheguei ao hostel, a cama e o armário estavam ocupados para outra pessoa que não estava no hostel no momento, então o recepcionista Kevin (muito gentil a todo momento) retirou as coisas da outra pessoa do armário e me deu a chave. Ele me disse que a outra pessoa deveria ter mudado de quarto pela manhã, mas não estava no hostel. Deixei minhas coisas no armário e saí, quando voltei ao hostel, a outra pessoa estava na cama e muito chateada por terem mexido nas coisas dela. Concordo que o erro foi da outra hóspede que deveria ter saído e não saiu, mas como o hostel não tem recepção 24 horas, não conseguimos contactá-lo para resolver o problema. No final, fiquei com a cama e a senhora se deitou em um sofá cama que havia no quarto, então de madrugada uma outra moça muito mal educada entrou no quarto, acendendo as luzes, fazendo muito barulho, acordou a todos. Acabei ficando apenas uma noite e uma pessoa do Couchsurfing me ajudou no outro dia. Não recomendo esse hostel a ninguém.

All you get is a bunk bed, the sheets and a locker. You get nothing for the bathroom, not even a towel to dry your hands on. If you want some then you have to pay extra 2 euros.
Other than that it's OK.

Não é mal só que um quarto para 12 pessoas é muito tinha que ter menos um beliche pois cada beliche são 3 camas. Mas fora isso não foi mal. Tranqüilo.

The reception staff (Agnes and Sandra) were absolutely amazing! Very friendly, responsible and fun! Had many laughs met many interesting people! My first time in a hostel so was a bit worried about the sharing bedrooms but from the shaking bed bunks to the slight snores I slept like a baby there’s curtains to cut out the light so can sleep till I want to get up! Bathroom and kitchen areas are also ina good state and everyone respects those (and bathrooms are cleaned everyday) living area has an outside terrace which I spent the sunny days in!! Great place very central highly recommend!!

The price and location are good. But the wifi often disconnected in the room, even receptionist help us to reconnect. The space in public is not enough and bathroom also. Bed are 3 layers and not so stable.

Overall, the stay was great. Very friendly receptionists, Sandra and Agnes. They create an environment that makes you want to stay there and spend time in the hostel.
The only problem was the shower. The water didn’t go down well. Would be good to clean the pipes.

It's OK, don't go there if you want to be confortable and quiet at night! It's abordable and worth the price, but don't expect more of it. It has the necessary tools to cook and there's a shower. The bathroom is not deluxe there is not even a dresser to put your things on while you shower, so you have to put them on the ground... who does not seem to be cleaned very often... Good experience overall, but PLEASE BRING SOME EARPLUGS cause it will be a horror for you otherwise... It is next to a passing street and everyone will make noises that will wake you up!

The stuff was very nice and always on reception, so if we want something they was always helpfull. The M2 students hostels is very specific (but not in teh bad meaning) i felt like at home, just with more people :) every day cleaning lady was cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and our bedroom.

Foi uma experiência traumática, camas péssimas, quartos mofados, com grandes trincas, banheiro sem luz, tomadas soltas, nunca vivi uma experiência tão ruim, acabei tendo que ir para outro lugar, e mesmo depois de todos esses problemas não quiseram me ressarcir. Nunca fiquem lá.

Venue quelques jours à Porto. Au début endroit un peu étrange, les chambres sont à l'arrière & vu sur un mur. Mais ce sont des chambres de 2 (où 3 maxi) on était 2 donc c'était parfait. Cuisine & salle de bains à chaque étage.
Petit plus : situé vraiment pas loin du centre ville de Porto, top quand on ne connaît pas du tout. Et le soir de notre arrivée, repas polonais traditionnel avec les gens de l auberge, 5€ par personne, nous avons adoré.

Amazing hostel in porto!! Absolutely loved my stay there. Its everything you would expect from a hostel -amazing staff, social atmosphere, small but free breakfast, and good location. Everyone will make a real effort to show you around the city and make you have a great time!

I'm really angry with the hostel and its fake post in booking.
We left the hostel, and then, we found our car with the glass broken and stolen our belongs. We booked the hostel because of the "availability of parking" that they offer. But there wasn't a parking.
I know that is not their fault completely, but if we had a parking, it, for sure, wouldn't have happened.
Then, when we text to the hostel, they send us an answer trying to avoid the problem and don't offer any king of help.

Tive que lá voltar umas horas depois para receber os 10€ de caução.
De resto estava tudo em ordem, banheiros limpos, lençóis lavados.

M2students is a friendly and cheap hostel made for travelers .with a perfect location... only 10 minutes walk to the city center ! with many restaurants ,shops and supermarkets in the area. the staff is young and awesome !

Stayed for a few days over the summer. Very affordable price and a good location near the centre. Very clean, well run, and very well connected; with a metro stop within metres of the door- though all the attractions of the centre are within 5 minutes of walking anyway. There is also a good choice of shops and restaurants in the area.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, they were so friendly and helpful! They also gave me a lot of information about the sites around town that I would definitely have missed otherwise.
Will definitely visit again!

Siendo que costó 7 euros es caro. La ducha fría, no había gas, el colchón viejo y fino. La cocina chica, no aceite no condimentos no lugar para sentarse a relajar. Para llegar es un kilómetro de subida desde el centro. Muy malo. La gente que atendía si buena onda. Voluntarios. Aunque me parece una locura que dos chicas muy jóvenes estén encargadas a la noche. Simpáticas y eficientes. Pero me parece un peligro. En fin. No l recomiendo en lo más mínimo

the place smells bad all the time due to the building structure. Humidity and pipes don't help either. So be prepared for a smelly and dirty place. Moreover, the bedrooms were mixed, so if you would like to share with other men is ok, but I went with my girlfriend and she was not confortable with it. Please take with you your sandals as the bathrooms were not as clean as the pictures showed. Like, for 8 dollars the night it is ok, but sometimes is better to pay a little more for something way better. Beds are good, they were clean and ready for our arrival, but make sure they put you and your friends in the same room, this didn't happen to me and my girlfriend because they forgot to put us together. The staff was amazing and helped as much they could.

I am one of the crazy girls who wants to sleep for free creating panic at the reception. He wants to send us out in the middle of the night, but we left all our stuff since 13:30 and they ask for the reservation number and the name of the owner and no one said something about any problem, but when we arrived at 23:00 they where totally full and he excuses saying that they where overbooked and we should find another place to sleep. When we said that it was impossible find at that hour one place to sleep and he should find a solution he said that he will call the police for take us out. I add a picture of my reservation

nous avons passé 2 nuits dans la chambre 19 douche' sale évier bouché pas d eau chaude et chambre d une propreté douteuse pour 42eur la nuit c est abuser!!! par contre a Lisbonne 30eur la nuit avec tv douche et wc propre et serviettes de bain

They asked me for a deposit of 10€ for the key and another 10€ for the locker and before leaving they claimed that they only asked for 10€ for both the key and the locker. Thus, they kept 10 extra euros because there was nowhere written how much I gave as a deposit.
Also, the shower was dirty, the light of the bathroom was bare and there wasn't even a locker in the bathroom.
The only good thing was the location.

Gostava de poder ter tomado banho na noite em que cheguei mas não havia água quente e só pude toma lo de manhã quando já havia água quente.
Podiam investir mais na roupa da cama.

The hostel management was so accommodating! Our train was delayed and we reached the hostel at 4 in the morning, and they took us in with no trouble at all. They went out of their way to make it comfortable for us. They even let us store our luggage for free. Room and bathroom were both very clean. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend!

Difficile à trouver. Je suis passé devant l'auberge sans même la remarquer; en revenant sur mes pas, j'ai ensuite cru qu'elle était fermée (rideau de fer baissé).
Literie inconfortable et chambres très petites.
Sanitaires moyennement propres
L'annonce fait mention d'un petit déjeuner, lequel est inexistant.

Bardzo fajne miejsce. Z zewnątrz odrzuca ale w środku jest dobrze zrobione. Jest wifi w każdym pokoju, łazienka i łóżka z czystą pościelą. Polecam.

Per una notte va anche bene.. unico problema la struttura, un po' lasciata a se stessa, specialmente il soffitto del bagno, non era messo gran che bene (camera 8 mi sembra). per il resto ambiente carino,pulito, ottimo personale e atmosfera piacevole. Per un mordi e fuggi va più che bene !

the room is mediocre, with private restroom. the place for the shower is a bathtub, which i'm not so accustomed to .but overall the staff are very helpful, and it even provides breakfast, so it's quite satisfactory.

Make no mistake; this is a hostel. Located centrally in Porto, altough the house likely used to be lovely, it is now run-down and in need of maintenance. The reception is very young and friendly but were unable to give any recommendations for Porto other than visiting the small cities outside of it. Andre, the main guy behind the hostel, seemed to hate tourists, which is interesting considering his job.
The room was small and not very clean, and the drain was clogged. There was a nice kitchen and common area with a light breakfast. Guests were quite considerate with regards to noise. You pay a 5euro deposit on your keys and if you want a towel (!).
Most people here are young backpackers and the hostel's day job is providing rooms for Erasmus students. This means pub crawls, chatting over breakfast, and talking about past and future travels. If this is your thing, or you're a solo traveler. M2 Students Hostel is perfect. If you're looking for a room for a couple's weekend get-away - keep looking.

The best thing of this hostel was its location. The building itself is old and needs a bit of work. Out of the 5 hostels that we stay during our visit to Portugal, this was our least favorite. Another thing that could be better is the breakfast. They provide a lunch box to each guess with two small pieces of bread, 4 cookies and half a slice of cheese and half of jam.

I couldn't have a best hostel in Porto. Really nice vibe, cozy but mostly important, great hosting! The girls who work there are really friendly, smiley and they really good in entertaining their guests with pub crawling, games and chilled nights out.

I was very surprised about the great value offered by that hostel. First of all, there are some very friendly ladies working round-the clock at the reception, who speak fluent English and seem to very much like what they are doing - so check-in, any questions or getting information about the local area was very easy. My room was spacious and nicely designed, with bathroom facilities inside and a private toilet across the corridor. Although there was some times noise from outside, it didn't bother much. On the other hand, it was very peaceful inside, which I found very special and relaxing after my (more or less negative) experiences in most other similar places I've stayed in. The location close to a major shopping street and a walking distance from the city center made it a pleasant base for exploring the area as well. The breakfast was very simple, though it was still good for a quick start to the day without having to look for food. Overall, I would think of no other place when visiting Porto again.

Voor de prijs die we betaald hebben, was het een zeer goede slaapplaats! Niet zo ver van het centrum en de metro en het is gelegen in de winkelstraat. Voor €15 kan je ook niet meer verwachten dan dat we gekregen hebben: bed met propere lakens, opbergkastje en zelfs een ontbijt. Ze waren heel vriendelijk en hebben ons goed ontvangen!

I stayed 3 nights (22 Jun- 25 Jun) in M2Students, it was really nice stay, probably my best stay in Hostel ever. The staff there were all nice and friendly, especially the guy at the reception, he was being really helpful when I asked for recommendations! He suggested me to visit Miramar, Gaia, and a garden with great sunset view, they were all nice and definitely worth a visit. I enjoyed my stay not only because the great location of the hostel but also the conversation we had there!

So far the worst experience ever in terms of: price, hospitality, cleanliness and atmosphere. The flat mates were ok. The problem is the owner of this 'company'.
Start treating people with respect if you are taking money from them!
Btw. Andre is not really good with getting feedback. He will block you on every social media he owns.
Moreover, I paid everything on time even in advance which was my mistake because I almost did not receive my deposit back.
I have not broke anything. Mirror felt down because it was stick to the wall on duck tape...duck tape. House was dirty cold and many of us got sick after living here.
What is worth mentioning...he asked us for feedback by himself...sorry it's not like you wanted.
When it comes to be antisocial...yep and what? You are an grown up. You can choose with whom you are hanging out.
Next, he often cooked in our house and never paid us for media he has used.
Good luck my friend with your company. Hope you will learn how to treat people with respect and you will not trick anybody else.

Great location wiith good walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants, city center and different means of transporation. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Kitchen with all needed things if you r on budget and wanna cook home. Good areas where you can chill, play or watch somethin with your friends or meet new people from all over the world! I would totally recomend this place for short or longer stay!

Great location but the place needs a good makeover!
Hosts are fantastic, people are awesome and its so conveniently located ~ 5-7mins from metro and city centre, pharmacy, restaurant and bars located in walking distance as well :) if you need a place to rest your head for a short stay this is the place for sure

Gente amena y colaboradora!! Muy pacientes y amables... el desayuno es básico y las instalaciones también... pero se disfruta del ambiente y hay mucha oferta de voluntariado... Recomendable!!

Really cheap but not a really good hostel. Is old and the conditions are not the best altought the prices are really low.
