Very nice hotel. Owners helpful and accommodating. The hotel is a15 minute walk into town however there is a bus stop outside hotel. Would stay again.

Juan, his wife and his other friend who makes breakfast make you feel you are part of the family. A wonderful Porto experience. They even folded our washing. They cleaned the room perfectly every day, changed the sheets daily and Juan gave me a bottle of port to enjoy. The hotel is small basic but it has everything you need and it is far enough away from the worst of the touristica troubles of the center. Good restaurants are nearby and we walked easily to the river and sights. Very nice people.

The owner, Vagenar, was the most friendly person i ever met in the hotel scene. He made my girlfriend and me welcome from second 1. His service (for example at breakfast) was extremely customer friendly! The ambiance was always very familiar! The room was cute (old style fashioned) and very clean! I hardly recommend this hotel to everybody!

O hotel é de 2 estrelas, mas a recepção, limpeza e conforto valem 5 estrelas. Os donos do estabelecimento são super gentis e fazem de tudo pra que o hóspede se sinta a vontade. Sr João é uma pessoa sensacional, divertida e sempre disposto a ajudar. Ele tem as melhores dicas de passeios e restaurantes. Sua esposa também é um amor de pessoa. Os quartos são limpos, espaçosos, tem garrafa térmica pra preparar os chás e a localização é ótima. Próximo do metrô, supermercados e bons restaurantes. Recomendo muito e com certeza toda vez que for ao Porto, farei questão de ficar hospedada no Sol da Nave.

Uitstekend verblijf in typisch portugese sfeer, prijs/kwaliteit + locatie een aanrader! Rustig gelegen. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam, de kamers worden alle dagen perfect gekuist! Er is een bushalte vlak aan de deur die je in 5-10 min naar het hartje van Porto brengt. Op 10 min wandelen heb je 3 verschillende metrostations. De straat rechtdoor uitwandelen (20min) en je wandelt zo het historische stadscentrum binnen. Heerlijk typisch portugees ontbijten kan je al naast de deur of even verderop. Om de hoek is een heerlijk typisch portugees restaurant te vinden, dat tot in de late uurtjes open blijft.

Es de destacar que el personal es muy agradable. Nuestra habitación muy limpia todos los días , y con lo necesario para encontrarse a gusto. Es verdad que tienes que andar como treinta minutos para llegar al centro, pero también puedes coger un taxi que no es caro. Yo creo que está muy bien ubicado y que tiene muy buena relación calidad/precio . Así que me parece un sitio recomendable.

Bedroom with nice bathroom, air condition, fringe & TV. Very clean & tidy. Luggage stockage is available. Must book if u come to Porto.

Das Sol da Nave liegt etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums auf dem Hügel. Zu Fuss, aber auch mit Bus oder Metro, ist man in kurzer Zeit im Zentrum. Das Zimmer ist einfach, aber sauber.Die Besitzer sind sehr hilfsbereit, die Kommunikation jedoch nicht ganz einfach, da sie portugiesisch sprechen und nur wenige Brocken englisch. Mit Hilfe eines Handy-Ubersetzungsapp und mit Händen und Füssen klappt es aber irgendwie trotzdem :-).Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt definitiv.

Excelente hostal. Limpio, cómodo, perfecto para una estancia en Porto. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero bien dotadas y suficientes. El desayuno estuvo delicioso. La atención fue divina! Volvería sin duda.

Only 8rooms in an old building, you can reach the rooms from the stairs; lovely and clean rooms, with totally renewed bathroom, vert food and abundant breakfast, the owners are lovely!

Das Hotel liegt sehr gut und vor allem Zentrumnah, vor allem, weil wir auf den Nahverkehr angewiesen waren. Der Bus führt direkt nach Trindade, und von dort kommt man mit Bus und Metro in jeden Winkel der Stadt. Der Chef des Hotel spricht Englisch, und war sehr nett. Das Zimmer war immer 100% sauber, und man hat uns jeden Wunsch, ohne Nachfrage erfüllt. Z.B. stand eines Tges ein kleines Tischchen mit Stühlen auf dem Zimmer, das wir gerne auf dem Zimmer gefrühstückt haben :-). Meine Frau und ich können dieses Hotel sehr empfehlen.

So I booked this hotel because the listing said ..close to Sandeman Port cave. Its not. On arrival the appearance looks bad, and its on a real busy road. I wasnt happy. But, my booking was non refundable. I wasnt going to stay but I was persuaded to look at the room.The room was away from the street and had a very good bed. I decided to stay and I had a very quiet and comfortable stay. A very good nights sleep....Still had a really long walk to the port cellar....

Had a good experience, overall. Even though facility was not in heart of Porto, it was easy enough to get there. Walking is feasible only 15 minutes, easier was a bus stop right outside hotel. Cable TV with multiple English channels.Very good wireless were I could watch Netflix on my tablet if I wanted too.Owner and his staff never made me feel unwelcomed. Owner spoke English and was always very helpful. His staff tryed very hard to help also, if they could not comunicate they would call the owner on the phone to answer any questions.

The hotel was old but very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Its rated as a 2 star but had tv with cable, air conditioning, hair dryer, soap, good internet connection. Nice people ran the place.

This was a good place to stay. It was clean and the staff were always available and ready to help in any way, I would totally recommend a stay here should you find yourself in Porto. When I went to buy some cereals from the supermarket and put them in my room I came back the following day to find they´d even left me a bowl and a spoon to eat them with which they continued to do, and then wash up for me, every day!However, there are just a couple points that I had not noticed anyone else make before which I think is worth noting. This place is at least 12-15 mins walk from the metro station, although there is a bus service which leaves from outside the door. There are also pictures of a nice garden which my Dad got the benefit of from his room but there was no access to it from my room so if he hadn´t been there I wouldn´t have ever been able to go in it even though we were both paying the same price. So perhaps room pricing should reflect this?It also stated that there are microwaves in every room which is not actually true. When I asked about this they said that there was just one downstairs which I could bring food to and they would warm it up for me so that was okay but just to point out that the information was not entirely accurate.Apart from that, everything was very good. Oh, and I loved the fact that it was away from town so no noise from nightclubs at night etc!

El hotel en si esta muy bien, sobretodo el precio y por lo que se pueda encontrar en Oporto, el recepcionista super amable, la habitacion esta bien, para dormir y poco mas, el baño y poco feo pero bastante funcional, a 6 minutos teneis una parada de metro que os deja en el centro, yo lo recomiendo.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. We were very satisfied! Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Our room was very clean and it was maintained clean every day. Near downtown, 15 minutes walking distance and also very accessible by bus. We would definitely stay again :)

Sol da Nove is a great hotel for a very reasonable price. I stayed in a room in the back on the second floor. It was spacious, extremely clean and quiet. My room had access to a lovely terrace. I stayed out there for a few hours, reading and relaxing on one of the lounge chairs. John, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Sol da Nove is a bit far from the city center, but there is lots to see along the way if you walk. A main bus line runs right near the hotel too.

Issues were outdoor lounge area closed for renovation, window overlooked neighbors property where two dogs barked if you looked out window, neighbors liked to party, toilet smelled, bar closed.It sounds like a negative review however it is not meant to be the staff were friendly and accommodated as well as possible so we did not complain. Never saw the house keeper however room was cleaned daily doing a good job. So in summary staff was excellent however I believe the outdoor area should have been available. Price was as agreed. It is a 2 Star hotel so cant expect the world for the price.

Waren nur eine Nacht. Die Bilder versprechen mehr. Personal sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer eher schmuddlig, Schimmel an den Wänden, die Betten waren zu kurz.

La pensión está en una buena zona, a unos 15 minutos de Boavista a pie y con una parada de bus a 100m y una de metro a unos 300. El personal es muy amable, da gusto el recibimiento y hablar con ellos. La habitación bien, una cama doble para mi solo, baño privado grande, armario, tv (no plana) y nevera. Lo único que eche en falta fue una cocina, pero entre la facultad y el bar que se ubica justo al lado puedes comer bien y a muy buen precio. He estado 5 noches y la recomendaría.

El hostal está bien, por 28 euros la habitación doble por noche está bastante bien. Además con baño privado, lo cual en Oporto puede ser un poco más difícil de encontrar que en España. Lo malo es que el internet en el segundo piso llegaba muy mal y todo hay que decirlo, los muelles de la cama sonaban mucho y la cama, aparentemente cómoda, hasta que te levantabas por la mañana y tenías la ligera (simplemente ligera) sensación de no haber pasado buena noche.El dueño del hostal muy majo como dice por aquí todo el mundo.El baño bien a secas, no estaba sucio pero tampoco era para tirar cohetes.La casa es antigua y la decoración también, sobretodo fuera de la habitación, moqueta roja y suelos de madera, pero aceptable.Finalmente la distancia al centro, que aunque 20 minutos no pueda parecer mucho, a la vuelta siendo subida es muy pesado. Es verdad que hay una parada de autobús en la misma puerta del hostal, pero el fin de semana pasa cada media hora, y el metro está a unos 7 minutos andando, lo cual tampoco te quita mucha distancia.Por lo tanto, me reitero, que para lo que vale cumple su función sobradamente y lo recomiendo sin dudarlo, pero que nadie espere hablar del hotel de su vida.

Myself and a group of two friends spent one night in Porto, and we were looking for a quiet place where we could rest after a busy week travelling through Spain and Portugal. Before arriving we had quite low expectations; however, we were pleasantly surprised: the room and ensuite bathroom were both very clean, the hotel was in a quiet area of town, and the hotel proprietor was an extremely friendly and helpful man.

A small but clean hotel, Sol da Nave lies just north of Portos historical centre. The building is old, but everything works as it should (plumbing, electricity, internet). Though the place looks a little bit shabby, its well-maintained and clean and really great value for money. Everything is up to basic standards. We staid here for three nights and we had no reason to complain about anything.

I spent 4 days at the hotel with two friends after recently visiting Porto for a music festival. Upon arrival the hotel doesnt look the most appealing from the exterior, but once inside it had a nice, homely feel. The rooms are well furnished and modern-looking with all the desired amenities. The owners of the hotel were helpful in not just accomodating us, but providing us with directions around the City. Due to the nature of our visit we often returned to the hotel in the early hours of the morning, but there was always a member of staff on hand to give us access to the building. Housekeeping was of the highest standard, I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and would stay here again if I am to ever go back to Porto.
