This hotel is a mansion converted and decorated beautifully with antique furniture, chandeliers and has a lovely private courtyard terrace. The hotel is next to the church in town and surrounded by the terraced hills of the Douro region. I could see the hills from my bed, perfect to wake up to. And they serve a typical Portuguese breakfast of fruits, breads, jams, meat and cheese. The hoteliers were very helpful and kind to let me check in early, since my train arrived at 1pm. It was excellent to have a shower in the spa like bath with rainshower head and then use the provided robes. Very much a 4*, Id give it 4.5*

Beautifully decorated mansion converted into a boutique hotel. The owner is lovely and helpful; I arrived 2 hours early but was able to check into my room. It was clean, with a beautiful bathroom and balcony looking over the courtyard with the douro mountains (and olive grove) behind.

Everything was perfect except the long way and steps to the Rooms, it was ok for me but not so easy to my father 75 years old.

Un endroit exceptionnel qui vous replonge 50 ans en arriere. Propreté legendaire. Service merveilleux et professionel. Je mettrais 6 etoiles si je pouvais.

Acolhedor. Pessoal simpático, muito asseio e conforto.

Villa in small / quiet town. The staff was so courteous and fixed an excellent breakfast. It’s a fairly small place, our room was in the back and was very quiet at night.

Altes Herrenhaus direkt bei der Kirche mit Originaleinrichtung. Die Möbel sind von vor ca. 100 Jahren. Das Bad hingegen ist auf renoviert und auf modernem Standard.Sehr nette Gastgeberinnen und ein super Frühstück. Die Anfahrt durch die kleinen Gässchen braucht ein paar gute Nerven. Ansonsten ein paar Meter weiter weg parken. Restaurants innerhalb von 3-4 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

What a fantastic place to stay. This has to be the best out of the eleven hotels we have started in during our trip. The rooms are beautiful. The common rooms are old fashioned elegance at is best. It should be five star.

Um solar romântico! O local ideal para passar com a cara-metade! Próximo do Douro, é possível fazer um passeio de barco ou de canoa no Verão, visitar as Quintas do Douro e provar os seus vinhos, no Outono e Inverno. Visitar as gravuras rupestres do Vale do Côa durante todo o ano. Contratar guias e a partir da Casa visitar a região. As refeições são num ambiente fantástico, são excelentes e possíveis se encomendadas com antecedência. não

The hotel is like a big vintage mansion with very interesting details. The rooms are quite big and the breakfast was very nice. However, there is no wifi in the room only in the living room.

Casa muito bonita e bem localizada

This used to be the house of a wealthy family. Much of the original furniture has been retained and the living spaces are an historical treat. Breakfasts are a treat with home-made jams and in the living room are a selection of fruit flavoured grappa/liqueurs. The staff has varying extent of English but enough to manage hotel talk. The town is small but has a few restaurants and is only 15 minutes from Foz Coa.

Altes Zimmer, sehr modernes Bad, unbequemes Haus und nicht sehr zuvorkommende Bedienung und Informationen.

Pessoal muito simpático e acolhedor. Boas instalação, confortáveis e com muita luz. Recomendo e voltaria lá, com toda a certeza.
