Die Portweine und Weine von Bulas zählen für uns zu den Besten der Region. Diese Quinta zu besichtigen war ein absolutes Highlight unserer Weinreise. Traumhafte Ausblicke, eine abenteuerliche Tour mit dem Jeep durch die Weinberge, einfach fantastisch. Wir haben schon einige Weingüter in verschiedenen Regionen besichtigt, aber das Thema Wein so authentisch und hautnah in dieser grandiosen Natur zu erleben war für uns nicht nur beeindruckend sondern einzigartig und wunder schön.

We had a great tasting there! First of all, we called to see if a tasting was still possible as it was close to 5pm and Joana was super nice and set up a table for us before we arrived. We have tried a various selection of Port that were all excellent (we had trouble to chose the ones we wanted to purchase) and Joana was friendly and nicely explained the difference between them. Also from there, the view is pretty amazing! Definitely worth it!

Bulas was the best Quinta I visited in the Douro Valley! I went on an all day private wine tour with Tourvent Travels and Alfredo took my friend and I to this winery half way through the day. It was by far the best stop all around! The wine maker, Joana was so welcoming and down to earth. She gave us a private tour of the grounds, explained the wine making process and led us through an amazing port tasting. Joana quickly felt like a friend! This Quinta sits in stunning location overlooking the Douro River and absolutely needs to be a place you visit! I am dreaming of trying to make it back there from the US just to visit Bulas again! Don't miss the 40 year old Tawny or the Porto Colheita 1996, they were absolutely delicious!!!

Wir besuchten das Weingut unserer Lieblingsweine. Eine wunderbare Quinta, das nette Weinteam hat uns alles gezeigt und erklärt,wie der Wein produziert wird.Die Lage der Quinta ist einmalig schön.Wir kamen als Fremde und gingen als Freunde.

Adoro o Vinho, os proprietários são muito simpáticos e calorosos. Recomendo.

So perfect. Call in advance (we called 10mins before we arrived and they welcomed us in) and enjoy the quiet and lovely tour with a truly experienced and friendly wine maker. Absolutely the best port you'll have so make sure you don't miss. Not hard to get to at all.

One of the most satisfying wines and breathtaking views! I had the opportunity to spend a day at this beautiful vineyard and it is nothing short of amazing. Starting with the wine itself, they provide variable of different wines to satisfy all tastes. Of course all ports which is the reason I initially went there but what was a pleasant surprise is their whites and reds were also truly tasty. But my favorite was 100 years old port.... The drive itself was worth this trip in the winding roads surrounded by the many vineyards and a view of the Doro River. Most days are sunshine and beautiful and today was nothing less. Once we arrived we were greeted by the most down to earth people who were completely welcoming. Of course they knew everything about wines but what was impressive was how well they were able to describe the various processes used to make port wine vs other wines and the history that makes it special. Jose, Luis, and Joanna were absolutely wonderful.

Spectacular wine, beautiful scenery and unforgettable experience at Bulas Wines and Vineyards. It takes a while to get there on the winding roads, but you will greeted by beautiful scenery all the way. The vineyard itself is a complete gem tucked between the Douro and a smaller affluent, a perfect location that has apparently been producing wine since the XIII th century. We were greeted by the owners and the oenologist, who did everything they possibly could to show us around the property and tell us about Douro history and wine production, even though they were bang in the middle of a harvest. Most importantly, the wine was truly spectacular (so much so we brought about 12 bottles back with us!) In Douro wines, we really liked the 2012 reserve white and the 2009 Touriga Nacional. But the stars of the show really are the the Ports... if you pass by make sure you at least try a Vintage ruby and a 30 year old Tawny. Sure, they're the most expensive to buy, but they were included in our tasting and completely changed our perspective on dessert wines. If you're on a visit to Douro, this is definitely one not to miss out on!
