We loved this villa with it's lovely large paved patio area, the place was clean and tidy with all the mod cons you need on holiday. The village is great with lots of places to eat and a fabulous beach. Ralph was a superb host and spent time helping with our questions and telling us about the area, many thanks for this and being so helpful.

We had a great time here. From the time of booking the accommodation Ralph was quick to respond to emails and really helpful. The cottages are clean, cosy and very comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the garden and the few toys that were available. In terms of location the cottage is walking distance to the village which has many shops and restaurants. It is also walking distance to a stunning beach. We spent a good amount of our time on the beach despite the cooler weather. The kids really enjoyed hanging out and playing in the sand. A short drive away there are many other beaches and the bigger town of Colares, which again has plenty of shops and restaurants. We had the choice of driving to Sintra or walking to the heritage tram and travelling in style. We did both. There's lots to see in Sintra but it was nice to leave the hustle and the hordes of tourists behind and return to Praias des Macas. Ralph and Manuela were very keen to help with any questions we had. I would recommend this destination to anyone thinking of visiting the Lisbon area - the city is only 40minutes away and the local neighbourhood is very family friendly.

Can not recommend this villa enough. Great location, beautiful villa, super restaurants within walking distance. We have been back 10 years in a row! Great for families or groups of golfers or cyclists. Ralph will give you all the local info you need and can book trips for you if required. Super place!

This was a perfect location to explore Sintra and the Lisbon area. We stayed in Vila Arcos with our three teenage children. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and clean with a private walled in terrace area. It is close to fabulous beaches. This area is perfect for anyone interested in watersports or mountain biking. Ralph is really helpful. His knowledge of the area and connections with local providers will ensure that you get best out of your stay. I would happily go back for another holiday with Lisbon Coast Cottages.

We stayed a week at Casal de Santa Maria with friends and family (10 of us). The villa was amazing, with a 5 minute walk to the beach, outdoor pool, game room (ping pong , darts) and a 3 minute walk to the Sintra tram (must do for anyone that visits Colares/Sintra). Highly recommended the property and would stay there again!

Had a beautiful holiday at Casa da Olga! 2 weeks in this cosy house and we just dont wanted to leave. The casa had everything you need for 2. The little city has a great sandy beach (guarded), nice little restaurants, a small supermarket and a butcher. Citys nearby (Sintra, Ericera) are great for day-trips. Ralph is a amasing host, has advice and tips and just makes your stay absulutely fantastic. We felt at home with the very first minute. Thank you very much! Well be back ;-)

Casal de Santa Maria is a beautiful house, wonderful location, everything you could need, perfect for large groups The house is stunning; spacious, tasteful, well equipped and cool, no matter how hot it was outside. There is plenty of space for large groups to spread out or be together depending on mood! The kitchen is well kitted out with a large range cooker and every utensil we required, we just had to keep looking! An added bonus is the second dishwasher which was a boon, with a large group, and a large capacity washing machine. There are plenty of books, dvds and games and a telly you can cast to from your own device (ok, I know that reveals how middle aged I am!). Outside, the pool is fantastic, with a diving board proving great fun. The back garden is sunny, perfect for soaking up the sun and the front garden is lawn, with space for badminton, croquet, and there is also shade. There is also a large balcony upstairs, with access from two of the bedrooms. There is a games room, including a table tennis table and dartboard. We found plenty to do around the villa and spent a large amount of time here, milling around. Locally, the market is open 6 mornings a week and there are three grocery shops within easy walking distance so self catering is easy. Praia das Maçãs has a beautiful beach with often large, always refreshing waves. There are plenty of bars and restaurants. The tram (or bus) make a day trip to Sintra really easy. Local taxis (or uber) are easy for trips to Praia Grande or Azhenas do Mar if the twenty minute walk is too much! We had a fantastic time.

We could not have picked a better base for exploring the Lisbon area. Accommodation is clean, well provided and close to a great beach and local shops and the archaic but must ride “electrico”. Ralph’s knowledge of the area has been so very handy, from the directions to get here to local restaurants and places to visit. Lisbon itself is easy to get around with excellent and cheap public transport. Park at Sintra Portelo station and 1/2 hour later you’re in the heart of a vibrant city. Our first time in Portugal so we feel v lucky to have chosen a great place to start to get to know it.

The Villa is fantastic for a large group (11 of us), was spotlessly clean and very well equipped (to a much higher standard than most holiday villas which tend to fill the kitchen with the cheapest equipment etc). Great pool and patio area and the kids spent hours in the games room and on the front lawn. Great location only a short stroll from the village, beach and the local market with two great fishmongers, fruit and veg plus a very good butcher a little further into the village. Great surfing at Pria Grande 5 mins drive away. Ralph was a great host and couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome, having lived in the area for a number of years his local knowledge was second to none, he even took us on a cycling tour of the local area, off the beaten track. Highly recommended and will certainly be back.

Just returned home from an idyllic holiday to Portugal. Vila Arcos was the most perfect accommodation - everything was spotlessly clean, with plenty of fresh towels, extra bedding and pillows. We were even greeted with a welcome basket full of fresh local produce! Ralph met us at the villa and gave us local maps / info on shops. restaurants, tourist attractions etc. He is happy to answer any questions and is a wealth of information. Vila Arcos is perfectly situated within a 5 minute walk to all the amenities. There are parasols, body boards, a cool box etc available at the villa to take with you to the beach. During our week long stay, we found the washing machine invaluable, as was the washing line. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shutters on the windows made the bedrooms completely blackout which meant we all slept really well. Praia das Macas is a beautiful village - the locals are really friendly and the food and wine really tasty. The beach was so clean with plenty of space and everything to hand - toilets, showers, ice cream, beer...We couldn't have asked for a better holiday and will be sure to return.

What a great time we had at the villa casal de Santa Maria, so much great memories made for a lifetime with great friends. A much needed break from work with the great scenery of Praia das macas, Sintra and cascais. Definitely recommend to anyone who's in need of a much needed break.

We stayed at Casal de Santa Maria for a wonderful week in July 2019.Our group comprised of 4 adults, 6 teens and an 8 yr old and the villa exceeded all our expectations. It had everything we needed, beautiful clean bedrooms and bathrooms (wash towels and beach towels included), a fully equipt kitchen, great BBQ area with all necessary utensils etc. Great pool with diving board (depth up to 2.1m deep), a games room with table tennis, darts, pool inflatables...The location was a 3 minute walk to the beach. Enough grocery shops, restaurants etc to keep you topped up for the week. A butchers that makes wonderful burgers and sausages!! We ate at numerous restaurants but our favourite was Villa Maca in village and the pizza in the local glampimg site. The tram to Sintra is very quaint and a must but once is enough and the buses are faster and more frequent! Whichever way you travel, Sintra is definitely worth a day visit! The beach Praia das Macas has a coastal walk to the next beach Praia Grande which is also beautiful. If you are feeling fit, the walk continues to Cabo da Roca (the furthest westerly point in Europe!) Ralph was an amazing host, very polite, professional and knowledgeable! We really hope to be back.

Myself and 11 friends spent a wonderful week in this beautiful villa, it had everything you could possibly wish for to cater for a party of 12 and was immaculately clean. From start to finish Ralph was on hand to help with any queries we had, and was an extremely helpful, wonderful host. We loved it so much, we have already booked to go back next year, and cannot wait. Thank you Ralph for everything

A wonderful holiday at Quinta Sinfonia.....a really special villa where our children from 4-15 were so well entertained and safe as the property is entirely walled in. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Ralph was outstanding throughout the booking process and during our stay. We will be back!

We had a brilliant holiday in the cottage! Near a gorgeous beach, nice restaurants and the cottage itself is really well equipped with everything you need. Especially the courtyard is a nice hideout for relaxing in the sun!

Très bel emplacement, à quelques pas de la mer. Maison individuelle avec un jardin, une terrasse, une piscine, tout ce qu'il faut. Proprio super sympa. Seul petit bémol : il faut vraiment du beau temps pour profiter de la piscine qui n'est pas protégée du vent.
