Affordable, clean, and good value for money. Low on the frills but kind staff and comfortable beds. Free breakfast and dinner was one of the best meals I had in Portigal, costing just 6€. Would stay there again!

I had a fantastic time, the place has some amazing common areas, it's specially recommended if you want to meet people. Elli, Sarah, Diego and Stella were an amazing team. My stay was supposed to be for two days, but I had a great time and ended up staying 4 days! The location is very good, too, opposite the town's market, which makes it very convenient.

Great people, great time, great everithing. An awesome place to make friends overseas and still feel like you're home.

The people running the hostel are quite nice. The setting helps you to mingle with everyone. So meet people and go out with them. Have fun.

Staying at the Le Penguin Hostel has been one of the greatest traveling experiences so far. The hostel is near center, on the other side of the street there is a big supermarket, where you can do your groceries and the ferry is only a 15 minute walk away. You can get awesome dinners every night for 6€, cooked by the hostel owner Diego which are always on point! The atmosphere is amazing, good music playing all the time and fun group activities every evening. The staff in general is very welcoming, funny and laid back. The garden downstairs has a really chilled vibe and is a great place to meet new people or to get over your hangover from last nights drinking games. We became real good friends with the staff and the owner, which is why we‘ll definitely come back as soon as possible! I can‘t hype enough about this place, so maybe just go there and convince yourselves! You won‘t regret it

A very nice and clean place with a little swimming pool, a bar and a ping-pong table. The staff is very cool and propose cool activities during the week. Also the toilets are very comfortable to sleep after a big party

Myself and Matt stayed here for 7 nights. Room was excellent clean and with air con. Showers & kitchen were brilliant,staff are amazing can't recommend enough.

Hab leider nur eine Nacht hier verbracht, aber ich kann dieses Hostel wärmstens empfehlen. Die Mitarbeiter sind überaus freundlich, wir konnten schon vor dem offiziellen Check-in einchecken und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Zimmer und Badezimmer sind sehr sauber, es gibt eine Bar und einen Gemeinschaftsraum mit Tischtennisplatte und verschiedenen Spielen. Die Lage ist auch perfekt, Supermarkt (direkt gegenüber) , Old Town und Meer alles in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Sollte es uns nochmal nach Faro verschlagen würden wir definitiv wieder kommen

Stayed there for a week! I loved the staff and the energy. Strong little community. They organize several activities/events for the hostel travelers. Loads of opportunity to meet and greet! They took us to a boat party ,which was just so insane. The location as well is good. A little walk through the streets of faro to reach the Center. I absolutely recommend.

Hi guys, I would seriously recommend this hostel. It's so clean and well maintained . They have a definite schedule for each day. They have organized it so well that we have game night /quiz/ table tennis/drinking game and so on. The outdoor chill out space is awesome with a hammock under a tree. The indoor area is equally great . They provide adeqate space to dry the washed clothes as well . The staffs are also so friendly and helpful. I totally love it

Sehr schönes Hostel! Modern, direkt im Zentrum, Supermarkt vor der Haustür, super liebes Team die sogar Abendessen kochen und mit ausgehen! Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet und bietet sogar Reis, Nudeln und Kaffee for free...

It's one of the best places I have stayed in the last years. Everything was really clean and cosy. The showers were really good, sincerely better than the one I have at home. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. They also organised some parties that helped to create a good atmosphere for the guests. The location and the value for money are great. As a frequent traveller I have no fear on recommending them :)

Nous sommes resté deux nuits en chambre privée double. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la propreté des lieux (chambre, salle de bain et salles communes). L'ambiance est vraiment propice à la détente, et le personnel est adorable et se rend disponible. Petit déjeuner offert tous les matins avec possibilité de manger à l'ombre dehors. En plus: service de restauration avec des plats typiques. Propose un bar et une salle de jeu avec table de ping-pong. Possibilité de se garer à proximité (gratuit de 7h pm à 9h am), et le centre ville est à environ 10 min. à pied.

The volunteers who works are pretty kind and they are the only good thing about this place for me, the owner is unsociable, half of the bathrooms out of service, the operating wc were clean but the water does not drain down in the shower, music also good but annoying until latetime, to finish I killed tree bugs full of blood on my bad, maybe fleas, i don't know ... i read good feedback but i found this ... maybe could be nicer place but cause of careless hippie management it sucks

Worst Hostel on earth. We booked 2 beds. When we arrived at 11pm they told us that they were overbooked and had no space for us. So we (2 girls) had to find another hotel in the middle of the night. Worst service

Has everything you want from a hostel. The friendliest staff. So helpful and kind. Plus they drink with you in the evening and will take you in to town, to the best bars! They cook great food too. The only downside is you will be sad to say goodbye at the end.

Clean and nice hostel, 10 minutes away from the city center. There is a little bar with wine and beer and a room with Netflix, ping pong table and darts. However my bed was so noisy, that every time I was rolling over at night, the noise has wake me up. Also the breakfast wasn't very good as there was toast bread (can't believe that people eat it, especially in country with such tasty pastries) or cereal - if you don't like it, just go to bakery across the street, where you can Good thing is that the breakfast is free, so if you want to keep your travel expenses low, it's still a good option.

세비야에서 리스본가기 전에 하루 묵고 갔습니다. 방은 오래된 나무 냄새가 나서 들어갈때마다 적응이 안됨. 문은 빡빡해서 열고 닫기 힘든구조.. 가장 큰 문제는 리셉션하는 얘들이 4명정도 되는데 경포대에서 파라솔 장사하는 얘들같음. 무슨말이냐면 시설과 손님맞이에 신경안쓰고 자기네들끼리 어울려 놀고마시기 바쁨 ㅎㅎ 밤 12시 넘어서도 클럽음악 빵빵 틀어대고 논답니다. 샤워실 물이 전혀 안 내려가서 샤워기 틀고 끄고 반복. 샤워를 못할정도.. 그 정도입니다. 위치는 캐리어끌고 가기엔 좀 멀게 느껴짐. 왜냐하면 엄청난 돌길이기에 넘나 힘듭니다.

Eigentlich sehr schönes Hostel. Mir waren die Saufspiele allerdings etwas zu viel. Frühstück könnte auch etwas besser sein. Ansonsten sehr coole Leute und ne coole Villa.

It was really cool to spend three nights here, the staff is very nice, they even drive you where the party is. Also the breakfast is really good and they cook international dishes for dinner. I'll recomend it to all my friends if they are going to spend a night in Faro.

Hostel is clean, silent and overall a nice place. Not very central to the beach side, nor to the ancient city (about 15 mins walking).

Excelente hostel, bem localizado, com mercado e paragem de autocarro ao lado. Possui também um pequeno café da manhã delicioso. A casa de banho é pequena.

Omg, this hostel was crazy, the 5 people who run it are insain party animals. The ping-pong table was a bunch of fun and the dinners were always worth the extra, would recommend!
