The hostel has a very good location and the staff is super friendly! During my stay I forgot some stuff and they've send it straight to my adress in Belgium. In my opinion that's superb service!!! I would really recommend this hostel!

Tolles Hostel! Vielleicht das beste, in dem ich je war. Man fühlt sich wie zuhause. Super nette Leute. Man lernt schnell jemanden kennen und auch die Angestellten und die Besitzerin sind super nett und hilfsbereit.

Ein wirklich schön eingerichtetes Hostel mit sauberer Küche und Bädern. Wir hatten freundliche Zimmerkameraden und haben viele neue Leute aus allen Regionen der Welt kennengelernt :) Victor an der Rezeption war sehr nett!
Einziger Minuspunkt: Ein Vierbettzimmer ist sehr nah an der Straße und daher sehr laut.
Außerdem gab es einen Finnen der wohl ein wenig high war und nicht sehr abgeneigt von Drogen war ;)

My first impression is that the service is awesome. Everyone who works there is friendly, helpful, and works hard to remember people’s names. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The hostel dinners are awesome. It’s definitely a social hostel so there are lots of tours and trips available including pub crawls n such. Also in a great location that is safe and close to everything. Would absolutely stay again

Recently stayed for two nights!
Awesome place. Perfect location and beautiful balcony views on to the traditional Portugese town. Staff were all wonderful, friendly and welcoming. The actual building was great, very clean and tidy, cosy as well as being traditional & spacious!
My only problem was the other guests were extremely loud at night. In the next room there were many girls laughing and talking very loud! I couldn’t sleep at all and had a 7am flight - even tried to contact the front desk to tell them to be silent. But no response. Other guests also kept me up due to coming into the hostel rooms really late and snoring. Though none of this was the staffs fault, it did dampen my experience there. But id definitely stay again - but id have a private room because of the sheer volume of noise at night (even though the staff said “silent time is after 11pm” on the check in tour) but they werent around to tell the guests to be silent.
Overall apart from the other rude inconsiderate & loud guests - was awesome!

Una sorpresa inaspettata.Personale giovanissimo, inglese perfetto, camere pulite e......cena con una tavolata di loro ospiti a base di baccalau e buon vino !!!! Breakfast più che abbondante . Ci ritorneremo sicuramente e lo consigliamo vivamente !!!!

The atmosphere and staff are very friendly & welcoming. Although we are far older than most of the hostellers, we felt totally at ease with them. Sharing the kitchen worked perfectly for breakfast and there is a wonderful cook who prepares a dinner for 10 euros. Our double room was adequate though not fancy. The lovely old house has many nice places to sit both inside & out.

E uma construção muito antiga,porém esta conservada o hostel oferece um bom atendimento, os dormitórios são confortáveis e bem limpos.

Perfect for backpackers. People have been nice and welcoming. Not the cleanest place but not too bad. They forgot to tell us, so I ll tell you that there is a nice rooftop on the first floor to hang out.

One star less because there was no fan even in this heat, while some rooms were apparently provided the same. With the windows and doors kept open, to allow for some ventilation in the room, mosquitoes had a field day and the passers-by peeping in was unavoidable!
The best part however is the friendly staff and the location of the property. Rokas especially and Orlando are superstars... the kitchen is brilliant and the property is fantastic with courtyards and terraces for people to interact.

Casa d Algoa is a rather small and cosy, youthful and clean hostel located in the center of Faro! The interior and rooms are very nice and wooden, the kitchen is pretty modern and the staff is really friendly and welcoming!
We had some party noise problems in the morning of our last night- algoa reacted with a very friendly and fair policy! All in all a place we felt very comfortable !

Für uns als Pärchen war dieses Hostel nicht das richtige. Zwar waren die Mitarbeiter wirklich nett und hilfsbereit, aber so richtig wohl fühlten wir uns dort nicht. Das lag zum einen daran, dass es eher auf einzeln Reisende abzielt (Für diese ist es bestimmt nett dort) und zum anderen daran, dass unser Zimmer schon recht alt und wenig komfortabel war. Der Putz bröckelte an einigen Stellen ab, das Bett war nur ca 1,40m breit (aber ein größeres hätte auch nicht ins Zimmer gepasst) und auch das Bad entsprach nicht unseren Vorstellungen. Zudem war das Zimmer extrem hellhörig, sodass wir jedes Gespräch im Nachbarzimmer oder draußen im Innenhof mithören konnten. Bei hochsommerlichen Temperaturen wurde es sehr heiß im Zimmer.Alles in allem für Backpacker etc. sicherlich ein nettes Hostel mit vielen Möglichkeiten, Menschen kennen zu lernen, aber für uns nicht das richtige.

Staff molto gentile e disponibile. Posizione strategica sia per il centro, sia per la zona dei ristoranti, sia per la partenza dei traghetti verso le spiaggia di faro e verso le isole del parco Ria Formosa dove sono presenti delle spiagge molto belle.La sera dell'arrivo non sono riuscita a fare la doccia calda nella mia stanza con bagno privato per un problema che la mattina successiva è stato risolto. L'ho fatta nel bagno comune del piano dove sono presenti le camerate.
Quando si fa colazione bisogna lavare i piatti e bicchieri che si usano. È un posto adatto ai giovani

This is definitely one beautiful building the hostel is in. Easy to access, pretty central with shops around and couple min walk to restaurants, coffee shops etc. Open 24h, at the desk you get all the info you need from guys running the place. Kitchen big and spacious, free breakfast ( ham, cheese, jams, toast, butter, juices, teas and coffee). There’s a lounge and another room where you can chill but slightly smaller with the tv screen. Outside smoking area tucked in tiny terrace downstairs. Upstairs there’s a nice and large terrace, you can chill there, organise bbq etc. The outdoor space is quite big and defo you can find a spot for yourself. We stayed in 4bed dorm. On a smaller side, but you have boxes to store your luggage, Nice big window, mirror and a small table but unfortunately toilet/shower was a disappointment. No extractor fan so dump at all times, bath and curtain looked dirty, but with closer look you can see it just need to be changed as it’s really worn of, bath needs changing too, signs of not cleaning it properly for long time. Bad drainage too. Water leaked to our room but that was fixed within few hours. Overall great, but remember it’s a hostel, so if you don’t mind people around you and simple but fairly comfy condition, you’re going to be fine!

This hostel has a super sleek and safe atmosphere, it's easy to meet people here and there's always something on! There's a rooftop, big kitchen, lounge and quiet area that doubles as a cinema room, it's worth every cent to stay here and their saying "friends become family" really is true. Even if you're only staying one night it's worth it to stay at Casa d'Alagoa!

Ich war im Sommer mit einer Freundin in diesem Hostel für 3 Nächte und wir waren beide sehr begeistert.
Ich würde schon fast behaupten, dass es bisher eines der Besten war in dem ich eingecheckt habe.
Die Lage ist zentral und das Hostel hat einen super schönen Innenhof und eine große Terasse, wo man sich gemütlich hinsetzen kann, um die Sonne zu genießen.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, mit denen man auch gerne mal ein oder zwei Stündchen quatscht und die Zeit vergisst.
Die Zimmer und Bäder sind sauber und werden jeden Tag geputzt.
Man lernt dort schnell neue Leute kennen und kommt gut ins Gespräch, vor allem beim BBQ welches das Hostel einmal in der Woche veranstaltet.
Das Hostel ist absolut zu empfehlen - ein Hostel mit Charme und Ambiente

This was a great hostel. My only complaint is the whole building has 1 shower and 2 toilets. But other than that, very clean. Friendly staff, free breakfast of sandwich meat and cereal. Great location. I would stay again.

Met some other cool travelers and ended up playing board games and then going to a nice bar in the surroundings. Lockers in the room did not work at all. The staff at the reception was attentive and stored my backpack in the staff room - that was great and thank you for that! The facilities are a bit old. There is only one restroom on the upper floor that gets easily wet. I spend one night only that was very windy, and the doors and windows kept slamming all the time. The hostel let a guy check-in at 2 AM, who made some noise in the room. The free breakfast was good. Overall, the say was okay.

They honored my ground floor room.Bugs in bathroom, dirty dishes (50+ in kitchen) no eggs for breakfast or fresh fruit, low quality of juhce Bd horrible bread.I washe 1/2 dushes. Flooring coming up, fall rusk. No tv. Narrow bath tub and very easy to slip as it has round floor with no rail to hold on to.

A great hostel, the only unfortunate thing was that one of the two sinks was broken during my whole stay, so the bathroom with the working sink was occupied a lot and therefore sometimes a little dirty. But amazing and very helpful staff, cool offers (dinners in the evening, pub crawls and breakfast was good too) and all in all great atmosphere in the hostel!

The rooms are pretty tightly packed with beds, but the bathroom was pretty big and there is a lot of outdoor and indoor space where you can relax and talk with people from everywhere.
The breakfast definitely only has a small selection. You can get toast with cheese or some meat slices. And there are cornflakes and fresh juice. That's it, but it's pretty much all you can eat.
It's definitely aimed at younger generations and is a lot about team spirit and doing things together.
You can get a lot of neat little things like sunscreen, water and snacks directly in the hostel, but if you do, it's of course a little pricier.
What I really liked was that you could get beer fresh from the tap for 3€ and 2 for 1 between 18 and 20 o'clock every evening.
You can also get dinner for 10€ per person and they cook something different every evening.
The staff is very friendly and if you let them know about anything that's bothering you or if you have any questions they are always happy to help.
There is also a PC available that you can use for free and the wifi reaches every part of the hostel and has decent speeds.

Pessima. 32 euro a notte per una camerata da 8 di quel tipo è un furto. Materasso e cuscino plastificati, scomodissimi. Mensole pensolanti, luci del letto non funzionanti, bagni sporchi, sciatti, vetusti e maleodoranti con porte senza maniglie da aprire con il piede di porco. Colazione ai limiti del minimal con anche qualche formica, al punto che l'ho fatta fuori. Chi gestisce questo ostello non ha la minima idea di come si faccia questo lavoro.

Mein Aufenthalt liegt schon ein paar Jahre zurück aber ich habe es sehr positiv in Erinnerung. Die Mitarbeiter sind unheimlich bemüht und freundlich, das Hostel liebevoll und modern eingerichtet, mit toller Terrasse. Insgesamt empfehlenswert.

Best hostel I’ve ever stay in, the room is pretty, with a balcony, beds are comfortable, the staff really really nice. We had the best evening with the local portuguese dinner prepared by the lovely chef who sang to us fado portuguese songs !
I recommand without a single hesitation, I can’t wait to go again :)

Good location about 12 min walk from bus station, i did need google maps to arrive. Its beautifully laid out with loads of little chillbout areas. You can purchase beers on tap i think about €2.50 or bottles of wine. Its a friendly social hostel and i made friends with people at breakfast who i visited different islands with & went for dinners & drinks with. The brekkie was basic but filled you up, cheese, ham, breads, fruits, cereals. It was only a 15 min walk to where you get the ferry to different islands. One thing here though, break earplus as trucks pass on the street & they are very load & my room mates had the windows open. Also the top bunk is very high up, so book a bottom bunk if thats an issue. the chest storage for your belongings, isnt secure & i purchased a lock at reception for € 5 which was a waste because the bottom of my chest wasn't even secure. There is loads of showers in different places on each floor which is good. 1min walk from the hostel is a beautiful italien place that does amazing pizza & tiramisu run by a lovely Italian couple. Very reasonably priced and beautiful food. Don't miss it.

Where to start... the staff were like family and made me feel right at home. The kitchen is super well stocked, and authentic Portuguese meals / live music are available. Food and drinks are appropriately priced and the happy hour deals are GENEROUS. The facilities were as good as any. The location is extremely central. (Minutes walking from the waterfront, bus, ferry, and train stations.) If stay in a different hostel in Faro than this one, you're missing out.

Lovely hostel in the centre of Faro. Stayed in a double, en-suite room. Really clean and cute looking room. I think we were the oldest staying there as it is primarily younger people who stay there but we were made to feel very welcome. The place had a friendly atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend.

Extremely friendly staff, lovely rooms however the bathrooms are pretty basic and if it's a hot time of year it's pretty tough to stay cool in the hostel. The atmosphere was great everyone very friendly and able to meet a lot of people. Just a shame faro overall is pretty boring but this hostel made for a good time

The hostel is great for the atmosphere and the location. Every staff is super friendly and happy to help. Guests were sociable too. The only negative is that we were given a room in front of the main door so we were exposed to the noise of people coming in and out (using the buzz) at every time of the day and night. Also what was supposed to be quiet time (from 11pm) it was not respected and people were chatting loudly in the reception area

Great staff! The hostel was chill and decently located. Liked the fact that they had dinners you could opt in or out of. Took the airport terminal bus for like 15-20min. to the bus station and it was only a 10min walk from there, super easy. Liked that they had a fridge you could buy drinks from and a few snacks as well.

One of those nice old Portugesse houses that were run by families 20 or 30 years ago. Now you have nice "teams" of sixpack young men all fresh from the coiffeur mostly and one girl for the record and after the second or third day you have those adonises all around your feet when you are in and then you wake up up with headaches because they decided to turn on "tne extra strong WIFI" with amplifires at night because somebody there felt disturbed". Why don't they set up gay youth hostels , I do not understand that.
It is hard to understand why in many posh hostels guests are unwanted there at daytime and cooking is just an "event" from the staff. I mean, if you all go that way you should not name yourself hostel.That goes also for other hostels around Europe. Or please tell us, your guest that we shouild leave in morning come back at night and restrict cooking etc. to "event" actions. That reminded me of Bedwood hostel in Copenhagen even the design of the beds. Sorry but I do not understand as an oldtime traveler why people should not stay cheap longtime and come together as bedfore.
And to the response: No, it was not funny at all in the end but ok in the beginning and no, will not check in in a Faro hostel ever again.

Good value for money Friendly and helping staff you can book tours to different island from here too on the reception. Good breakfast but can be improved. rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and tidy. WiFi is pathetic in the rooms because of no repeater on the first floor. overall good experience

The hostel is rather spacious but not massive and has a very nice vibe to it from the moment you enter. The people working there seem to actually care about it and are super friendly and helpful. I wish I had more time to stay. The location is as central as it gets and about 10min from the main bus and train station

Great hostel with good atmosphere. Part of the staff is formed by volunteers from different countries and make the stay very interesting and making the hostel more alive. Breakfast is served with breads, ham cheese, jams, chocolate cream, juices, milk and it's included in the price of the stay. Good and fair price for the service.

Stayed in a 4 bed room. Nice beds. Good staff. Although our room was a bit loud being at the front door it was fine with ear plugs. The dinner we had there one night okay but since we're vegans we didn't expect too much. It was nice they even made us an option. Good location as well.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here recently. The staff are very helpful with giving restaurant recommendations and things to do. The hostel is clean and the dorm rooms were comfortable if not a little noisey in the morning, buts that's to be expected in a dorm. Breakfast is included and good value overall. Would definitely stay again!

One of the best hostels I ever stayed in.
I stayed at tis place for just 2 days because I had not more time for traveling. I was feeling very comfortable in the hostel. I was feeling like being in a family. The owner Diego went out with us to the pubs and Claudia helped me everytime with my travel plans. One one evening I joint the dinner which was nice. I would go back. What I didn't like that my lock didn't fit the safe and the safe was not very safe, it was easy to crack. But I think you don't need to lock up your stuff, the hostel is very safe.

Been there with two friends of mine this summer. The quickest way to describe this place is that it feels like home. The whole staff is helpful and does its best to maintain a warm and friendly atmosphere. The place itself is clean, cosy and modern. The only downside is the price (34 € per night for a 6 people room in August ), that it's a bit high compared to other hostels. But if you never tried a hostel before that's a great place to start. The friendships that can develop here are a obviously an added value.

Incredible hostel! Fun, friendly staff, everyone we shared a room with was lovely, cheap communal meal every night and great opportunity to go out with hostel or excursions during the day!

Lovely hostel. A beautiful old house central to sight-seeing, shopping and tours in Faro. Very friendly people. Breakfast is provided.

Best hostel in Faro, if you are looking for friendly staff, great fun, good location, delicious food and a place to feel at home this is your place. One of the best hostels I've ever been, absolutely welcoming and charming. Btw you can also rent a bike for the whole day to enjoy Ria da Formosa Natural park.

Casa d'Alagoa is located next to the city center. Everything you need is nearby. The people were very kind and helpful. The room was simple but clean, we had a private double bed room. The room was located at the street side, so we had a little noise at night. If you come by car, you can park nearby the hostel. We had a nice stay in Faro. I would really recommend to stay in this hostel!

Het Casa d'Alagoa was een aangename verrassing tijdens mijn vakantie in Portugal. Het hostel bevindt zich in een mooi gerenoveerd gebouw op een centrale locatie in Faro en kenmerkt zich door een ongedwongen sfeer en sympathiek personeel.
