Fantastisch lekker gegeten met ons vijven. Een ware smaakexplosie. Hier moet je zeker langsgaan wanneer je in Olhāo bent. Verassend anders dan de mainstream restaurants op de grote boulevard, Al je wensen worden vervuld met de glimlach. Excellente wijnkaart. Portugees maar origineel, de chef kookt met plezier en vanuit een familietraditie en dat merk je.

This place was wonderful. Its nicely hidden in the backstreets of Olhao, and it is a true gem of the town. The food was great, although I will definitely recommend fish over meat. They have mastered the preparation of the fish dishes. I recommend visiting.

I first visited Mósse while on holiday with family and friends in the area, and returned almost every day to sample their wonderful myriad of dishes and wine (and delightful service!) for 10 days before heading back to England! The restaurant had only been open for just over a month when I visited, but as far as I could tell, it had already managed to win a good selection of faithful diners, both local (which is always a great sign!) and tourists. The place itself is wonderfully decorated, hinting at the exotic mixing pot of culture inheritance of the area, which is reflected in the cuisine as well. The menu immediately makes you want to stay, with an exquisite variety of dishes, many traditional Portuguese delicacies, other with influences from around the world - French cuisine, Arabian flavours, you name it! The staff was superbly friendly and helpful, and have obviously ostensibly sampled the chef’s creations, as they were able to make recommendations based on their personal preferences and experiences of the dishes. They were also pretty well versed on the wine menu, so I ended trying some fine pairings to my meals! The food itself never failed to impress and surprise! Each single course was beautifully crafted and the symphony of flavours, textures and presentation is nothing short of outstanding! A true exquisite culinary experience! As a fish and seafood lover myself, the tigers prawns in coffee vinaigrette became a firm favourite, as well as the chef’s Bacalhau Mosse and the Xarem (a traditional local dish of seafood and polenta that is absolutely devine!). The different vol-au-vent on the menu are definitely worth a try, and among the best I’ve ever sampled. The sirloin steaks were cooked to perfection and the sauces a treat to the tastebuds (though not sure for the heart! ), strongly recommend the beer sauce. The pork cheeks are to die for (in conversation with a local lady who apparently is a fan of the dish and has had it in restaurants all over the country, I was told they were the best she’d ever had!) The desserts were perfectly irresistible! Some are Olhao’s local delicacies (Morgado, a fig or almond and egg tart, is gorgeous!) others are traditionally Portuguese and made in house by the chef’s mother, and they are worth their weight in gold...! I usually try to avoid such indulgences on my day to day life, for health’s sake, but how could I resist? Her velvety egg pudding melt in the mouth, and your tastebuds and your brain pleasure centre will be eternally grateful for the coffee and biscuit cake experience! Specially accompanied by a lovey espresso and one of Mosse’s superb Port wines! All in all, a truly unparalleled, perfect experience. The only downside is that Mósse is not just down the road from mine! On the other hand, I’ll be happy to have this gem of a restaurant to look forward to on my next visit to that lovely country. If you find yourself in the Algarve, do pay it a visit. You’ll be glad you did. Sorry I didn’t get the best pics (and none of the exquisitely presented desserts!), but the wonderful smells and presentation tingling my excitement to sample the dishes made me completely neglect to do so! oh well...! You’ll just have to go and see for yourself!

Food is quite nice, but the top of the top is the wine list and its price. All most all Portuguese regions, with very peculiar wineries and wine makers, at very low cost for a restaurant. Absolutely to repeat!! Ask Dário what to eat.

Klein maar fijn restaurant met zeer vriendelijke bediening, heerlijke gerechten met een zeer goede kwaliteit/ prijs verhouding. Onderscheidend van de wat massale restaurants aan de "hoofdstraat". Aanrader!

Il locale, leggermente defilato rispetto al Centro della cittadina, è comunque facilmente raggiungibile se si seguono i profumi del vecchio Forno lungo la via che porta alla zona vecchia, lungo il percorso delle Leggende. Arredato con sobria eleganza nel rispetto delle antiche presenze, Mòsse propone una cucina di assoluto livello sia nella presentazione dei piatti che nel loro contenuto, curato e di gradevole prelibatezza. Buono il servizio, ottima la Cantina dei vini. Nulla di banale e scontato se non il listino dei prezzi, assolutamente in linea con la normalità dei Locali della Città. Con il vantaggio di una qualità non comune. Ottimo.

Net heerlijk gegeten bij restaurant Mosse in Olhão. Net achter de te drukke en volle boulevard in een klein straatje Rua Teófilo Braga no 75. We kunnen de garnalen, schelpen en zeker de zeer malse varkenswangetjes aanbevelen. Goede bediening!

Leider waren einige Dinge von der Speisekarte nicht verfügbar. Dies wurde uns erst lange nach der Bestellung mitgeteilt, sodass die Gerichte zeitlich sehr versetzt kamen. Die angebotenen Alternativen waren sehr begrenzt. Das Essen allerdings war lecker und die Kellner waren freundlich und bemüht.

Gostei muito. Bom serviço. Boa comida (barriga de atum braseada, com juliana de laranja e mel do barroca) com bom vinho a acompanhar. Preço muito razoável.

Buen restaurante con menú diario en el encantador pueblo de Olhao. Gran variedad de pescados y platos típicos de la zona. Buena presentación y elaboración de los platos. Local colorido y acogedor. Personal amable y multilingüe, lo cual se agradece mucho si no hablas la lengua local. Una buena elección si estás por la zona.

My brother and I came across this restaurant today and what a gem. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was lovely - I had an almond encrusted trout and my brother had the chicken vol-au-vent, both were fantastic. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back during this trip for sure!

Best restaurant in Olhao. Its not a place whare you eat and forgot, but place whare you come back and enjoy again the starers, main and desserts. Quality not comparable with other restaurant in neighborhood.

Ein Stern ist immer noch zu viel! Das Restaurant wurde wohl erst neu eröffnet, aber man sollte den Betreibern ja eine Chance geben... Leider wurde aus anfänglichen Pannen der Bedienung und der Küche am Ende ein Desaster. Das Restaurant war leer - keine weiteren Gäste in Sicht - schon seltsam. Meine Familie und ich waren zur Abendzeit die einzigen Gäste. Die Einrichtung war sehr ansprechend und die sanitären Einrichtungen waren auch OK. Die bestellten Getränke wurden ohne Gläser serviert - die Cola sollte wohl aus der Büchse und das Bier aus der Flasche getrunken werden. Es wurden andere Speisen serviert als bestellt und erst im Anschluß wurde mitgeteilt, dass diverse Speisen aus der Karte nicht verfügbar sind. Schlussendlich wurde die Rechnung höher ausgestellt, als die Preise in der Karte hinterlegt waren. Das Essen war nicht besonders, schmeckte eher nach Fertiggericht und Tiefkühlware... Der Höhepunkt des Besuches dieses Restaurants war, die zuanfangs freundliche Bedienung wurde durch wohlgemerkt eigene massive Fehler später immer unfreundlicher und regelrecht zickig! Empfehlung: Machen Sie besser einen großen Bogen um dieses Restaurant - es gibt sehr viele bessere Möglichkeiten in der Nähe Essen zu gehen...

Felt like a family run restaurant. With nice food and a very charming waiter. Very reasonable prices. Anchovies were delicious.

Our party of three had three seafood main courses that we shared. Clams, polenta and trout. All were excellent in all aspects (taste, presentation, balance, etc), but I would especially point out the trout, which was simply outstanding! We also liked the dessert, a small cake, which was prepared by the owner’s old mother. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy, and the staff is very friendly and correct. The cleanliness of both the restaurant and the restroom was spotless! Highly recommended!

Laissez le quai aux touristes ! Et venez chez Mosse déguster sa petite salade de morue et pois chiches avant de vous laisser voguer sur son Xerèm, magnifique soupe épaisse de crustacés à la polenta. Un verre de vin blanc sec s'impose pour l'accompagner. Fraicheur des fruits de mer, texture parfaite du consommé... Reçu par un personnel très aimable. Tout l'Algarve est ici.

N'hésitez pas à quitter la rue du port pour découvrir cet unique restaurant gastronomique d'Olhao, cuisine excellente. Prenez le temps de déguster des plats faits maison, goûts et saveurs au rendez-vous et belle carte de vins.

Came across this restaurant when exploring the back streets on our first day at Olhao. We had the menu of the day for lunch. Sat outside in the sunshine. Waiter was very pleasant. Meal was delicious. Horse mackerel and salad with pomegranate. Very good value .

Dus ... Je hebt reviews en reviews. Soms met plussen en soms met minnen. Een review heeft wat schrift nodig, naast het aantal sterren. Mósse heeft ons op alle vlakken weten te verrassen. Lekkere wijn, special kindermenu voor onze kleine van 3 (omelet met friet, wat wil je nog meer) en wij ook verrukkelijk gegeten voor een zeer redelijke prijs. Bedankt Juan! Voor de gastvrijheid en de vriendelijke bediening. We'll be back!

Fuimos a cenar y quedamos contentos. Se come bien a buen precio. Pedimos un filete con salsa de champiñones que estaba muy bueno, la carne tierna y un plato de cerdo que consistía en distintos cortes de la zona del costillar. Era carne macerada ,muy muy tierna con un sabor interesante. De postre una tarta de limón casera que estaba muy buena y otra tarta de café que estaba de muerte, deliciosa. El local es acogedor y el personal muy amable. No le pongo 5 estrellas porque no tenían todos los platos de la carta que nos apetecía probar.

Excellente adresse ! Un peu plus loin des restaurants touristiques, Mósse propose une cuisine traditionnelle revisitée de manière gastronomique, pour le plus grand plaisir des gourmands. Le service est lui aussi très sympathique. À recommander !
