Not really a Tapas kind of person, but the food was OK to good, nothing for me outstanding, very eclectic clientele and ambiance, not somewhere I would rush back for the food for, but loved the overall feeling of the place

Great food. Thankfully enough of us to order pretty much everything on the tapas-style menu. So something was everyone's favourite! Loved the al fresco dining in the courtyard. Great drink selection. Wonderful, friendly staff. Second visit, this time as a group. Same great food and experience. See you next September!

We had a really good meal here, the food is very well prepared and presented, with the taste to suit.
The setting is very good; you walk through a fairly standard bar affair out into the garden which is very tastefully decorated and gives a unique alfresco dining experience.
The staff are friendly and offer helpful tips on the tapas based menu.
Have frequently visited this restaurant through the years and it's very consistent.

Wspaniały Tapas Bar z bardzo ciekawą kuchnią i zaskakującym wystrojem. Stary ogród miejski przerobiony na restaurację. Przez część roku krzewy tworzące dach glownej sali kwitną. Wewnątrz znajduja się małe schody prowadzące na dach, wieczorem oświetlony lampionami. To nie jest restauracja do najedzenia się, porcje sa typowe dla barów tapas, ale jakość jedzenia jest naprawdę świetna.

Lovely selection of tapas. We ordered 3 each and there was so much food! There is a lovely hidden garden which has a fantastic atmosphere. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Wow. Le jardin caché à l'arrière vaut vraiment le coup d'oeil. On y ait aller sans réservation et on a été chanceux d'avoir une place. Musique live en prime. Serveurs sympathiques et connaisseurs. Un coup de coeur en Algarve.

Ceviche, patatas bravas, duck with oven baked sweet potato, 13 salad, all stand out dishes. Great caiparinhas too. One of our favourite places for food/drinks in alvor.

Favourite restaurant in alvor! Love the tapas selection, great veggie and vegan options too if you need them. The prawns are incredible. I love the garden, it's like a secret little woodland world!

Locale gradevole, staff cordiale, si mangia bene .... unico neo (se ci si abitua alle porzioni ricche portoghesi) le porzioni un po' ridotte. Prezzo in linea con rapporto qualità/prezzo. Da provare!

We had a very nice evening in this bar that is very cozy and that has a very nice atmosphere.
Service was very good : very available, reactive and provide good recommendation.
The food was also good. We shared a platter that was truly huge, which indicates a very good price / quality ratio.

A fantastic meal in a fantastic setting.
The secret garden is beautiful and the food just as good.
Dessert was also excellent.
Afterwards there was some brilliant live music and we enjoyed a few drinks in a terrace above the secret garden.
10 out of 10!

The food and drinks are very good. The food is based on small dishes called "tapas" very tasty but you must pick a few (around three or four for two people). The outdoor space "garden" is very pleasant and the atmosphere is quite impressive, also the music (sometimes live music) is very good and blends in perfectly with the whole experience. I highly recommend it if you're around.

A very nicely laid out restaurant ambient and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and took the time to make us feel valued. The food was unusual it seemed to be a fusion of Miiddle Eastern and Portuguese cuisine which really did not work for us. The chef unfortunately seemed to be obssessed with including a large helping of raisins in some dishes overpowering subtle flavours in other dishes. We went on a Saturday night which may have led to the situation where the Tapas dishes arrived at diifeerent times. Bar 13 certainly worth a try good luck to the owners and staff

Hemos estado 12 días en alvor y este no es un buen lugar para disfrutar de la buena cocina portuguesa. Nosotros comimos pulpo,estaba duro,los camarones normales y unas migas con cerdo..sin comentarios. No hicimos postres porque nos cansamos de esperar que nos atendieran.

Superb restaurant and beautiful setting. We have been going here for years, the woven ivy tree covered courtyard is a stunning setting compared to the busy restaurants on the Main Street in Alvor. You can almost imagine you are back in a moorish courtyard house.

Superbe adresse. Allez-y les yeux fermés. Tout est excellent. La déco est tres originale, ouvrez bien les yeux, observez...les serveurs aux petits soins et dans l'assiette, le chef s'éclate...il melange des saveurs qui vous ferons vibrer les papilles. Nous nous sommes régalés. Pensez à reserver, l'endroit est très prisé.

Outstanding . Brilliant "secret garden". A bit disappointed that the octopus was not available (had it before and it's amazing), but wonderful ambience.

Wow what a fantastic meal ! Booked via Facebook messenger and asked for a table in the garden (just be aware of the mozzies that are unavoidable) and our table was just beautiful. Very quickly the outside was pretty much full but if you aren't bothered there seemed to be free tables inside. Great choices on the menu and staff were very helpful making suggestions. Think we had 5 tapas dishes to share between my husband and I plus a couple dishes from the kids for our 1 and 3 year old. The flaming chorizo was delicious, perhaps should have just got the small one rather than medium. Our favourite dish has to be the Melted Camembert with fried garlic, bacon and
red onion jam - wow if only I could recreate that !!! We had a pesto and sun dried tomato chicken dish, meatballs and patata brava. No room for desert sadly!
Highly recommended a visit here !

The front of this tapas bar does no justice and a photograph should be placed in the window just to let passers by know whats at the rear , a pretty ‘secret garden’ .
We had a lovely meal here last week . The bread served had just been baked freshly on the premises and all 4 of us agreed how lovely it tasted . There was lots of choice on the menu and across the 7/8 tapas chosen all were really tasty and filling . Reasonably priced too .
Definitely one I will be returning to .

The food and service here was great. I would recommend making a booking if you need to eat at a certain time, as there were no tables for an hour and a half. We left our name and went and had a drink close by and came back. It was a Saturday night so lucky to get in at all.
We had the tapas of the day (10 Euros) which included steak, mushrooms, melted cheese and bread and fried potatoes. We also had the dessert which was amazing. Recommend you try the almond pie. Very well priced for the quality of the food.

Eat here every time we come to Alvor. We took a chance as we had no table reservation. The place was very busy but were seated very quickly. Excellent service, great food and attentive staff.

Sitio escondido con mucho encanto. Tiene un patio y una terraza que merecen la pena ver. Muy bohemio y con una decoración acogedora. Respecto a la comida, de calidad buena, productos dentro de la normalidad con una buena presentación. El teatro muy amable.

A fabulous little place that we would never have found without a recommendation from our rep. Plenty of choice for everyone, including vegetarians like me. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We were eventually persuaded to sit in the garden and were lent blankets so we wouldn't get cold on a cool evening. Ended up staying longer and making use of the playing cards and dominoes. After all that, it was still cheaper than the mass produced buffet at our hotel. We will definitely go again before we go home.

Acogedor y solo eso. Las tapas para compartir no estaban mal pero muy escasas. El pollo relleno estaba seco y apenas relleno de nada. Para nada aconsejable. El pulpo frito estaba duro y no había forma de masticarlo. La atencion es buena pero la comida elegida dejó bastante que desear. Encima no es nada barato

Very cool place to go! Lovely staff and the surroundings are beautiful set in a very funky outdoor garden. The tapas were great as was the live music. Definitely a place to when in Alvor!

Found it a couple of weeks ago tucked away in a side road. Small but so cosy with a lovely courtyard out the back, ideal place to chill with a glass of vinho after a busy day.
