The absolute best service and food that I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The young man that served us was really helpful with the menu.
I had the lamb vindaloo which was perfect. The whole restaurant including the washroom is spotlessly clean. I will be back.

We're lovers of Indian food and eaten in many of the best. I can honestly say this was the best Indian meal we have had in ages and certainly best in the region. The good reviews are genuine and justified... Convenient location. We had the Chicken Shashlik and Lamb Saag... Spiced to perfection. You won't be disappointed..!

Vanavond hebben we heerlijk gegeten bij Sunita's Castle in Luz. Het was even zoeken voor we het restaurant eenmaal gevonden hadden, maar toen we binnen waren, was het genieten. De inrichting van het restaurant is simpel, maar netjes, keurig schoon ook.
De bediening is uiterst gastvrij, en oprecht vriendelijk. Wij merkten dan ook dat ze veel plezier in hun werk en liefde voor hun keuken hebben. Meerdere keren werd ons gevraagd of alles naar wens was, en we werden goed geadviseerd in de te maken keuzes.
We hebben een starter mix plate gedeeld, en daarna een Lemon Fish Curry en Chicken Tikka gekozen als hoofdgerecht, met als side dishes een veggy mix en een mushroom rijst. De maaltijden werden prachtig opgediend (zie foto's) en waren zeer smaakvol.
Ik kan het iedereen van harte aanraden, en zal de volgende keer dat ik in Luz ben zeker terugkomen!

Heerlijk gegeten, prima restaurant en super bediening. De bediening helpt met kiezen en doet allerlei suggesties, voor ons was de keus uiteindelijk perfect. Zeker een aanrader en voor een redelijke prijs.

Found this place through Google looking at the reviews. We weren’t dissapointed, it was as good as it had seemed. Food was delicious and the staff was really nice and helpful. They obviously all know their menu very well and are always ready to direct you to one meal or another to help you discover new things. We trusted them entirely and listened to their advice and we were very happy with the result.
It was a bit too cold for the outside area but the terrace had a beautiful view, definitely super nice during summer! Not expensive either. Definitely recommend if you are staying in that area!

Wir haben hier gut Mittag gegessen. Essen war gut und der Service auch. Ambiente schon etwas abgegriffen und leider eiskalt. Deshalb nur 3 statt 4 Sterne. Die Sanitäranlagen habe ich mir nicht angeschaut. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es in ausreichender Anzahl.

The food is amazing and the service was attentive helpful and all together outstanding. The lime pickle is the best I’ve ever tasted and the dishes we eat, mutter mushrooms and chicken madras were the best we’d eaten. Nothing was to much trouble. We’ve eaten curry all over the world and this was one of the best. Go support this family and enjoy the sensational food. It gets busy so book ahead if you can.

While my skin color might indicate otherwise, I'm tough to please when it comes to Indian food. I've eaten at easily a hundred different Indian restaurants in the last decade, and this place is tops. Literally some of the best Indian food I've encountered. Completely unexpected given the location. The ambience is nice, and the outdoor dining is a huge plus in the Algarve. Sunita is a gem of a person as well. But you can throw all that out, as I'm strictly reviewing the food here. It's a cut above the rest. Believe the hype.

Le cadre est super joli on peut manger à l’extèrieur sur la terrasse le personnel est très accueillant ils servent bien, le service était top franchement.
Concernant les plats j’avais demandé un peu épicé je ne l’ai pas du tout ressenti c’est dommage et le cheese nan est présenté différemment qu’en France il est coupé en 4 morceaux et le fromage on dirait de la mozzarella fondu donc pas trop de goût ..
Le lassi mangue c’était un délice. Les prix sont très abordables

Qué restaurante tan agradable. Estacionamiento frente al local que parece ser una casa adaptada. Comimos en una terraza al aire libre aunque también nos ofrecieron la opción de comer dentro. Nos recibió la dueña del local con mucha amabilidad y cortesía. La mesa bien arreglada y limpia. Tienen un menú muy variado dentro de los platos indios. Como siempre nos confundimos un poco, la señora nos ayudó a decidir lo que íbamos a comer. Todo resultó delicioso. La comida parece ser hecha con esmero y dedicación. Comimos abundante y la cuenta fue razonable. Volveremos!

Discrepo mucho de la gente que valora con 4/5 estrellas. ¿Es un mal sitio para comer? No, sin embargo cuando busco un sitio de comida tradicional espero un sitio con comida realmente auténtica y con un sabor que despierte algo diferente y que te evoque al país y su cultura. En Sunita's la comida no es mala pero no puedo decir que sea excelente. La relación calidad/precio es correcta porque es un sitio relativamente asequible en comparación a otros similares y las raciones son buenas (no te vas con hambre desde luego). En cuanto al servicio y atención se puede calificar de excelente por parte de su dueña, que te ofrece un trato muy profesional asesorándote en todo momento. El resto de camareros están realmente despistados y se les nota con muchísima falta de experiencia en hostelería. Si puedes elegir pide sitio en la terraza, bastante agradable. Normalito en cuanto a calidad pero puede ser buena opción dependiendo de tus preferencias. No he podido probar otros hindús de la zona para comparar.

Venimos por las recomendaciones, y todo lo que se pueda decir, se queda corto. Aconsejados por la dueña, nos quedamos más que satisfechos. Pedimos pollo tikka y pollo pakora de entrante y cordero con crema de menta de segundo, espectacular! De lo mejor que he probado. No hay que pensarlo. Enjoy!

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in the Lagos area - every time I go to eat there (which is fairly regularly) I try something different and am always delighted! Sunita is an incredibly friendly and informative hostess and all the staff are lovely. Delicious flavours and authentic Indian cuisine - do yourself favour and head to Sunita's castle one evening, I guarantee you won't be disappointed! ;)

We're so happy that Sunita's Castle has re-opened following the relaxing of restrictions due to the Pandemic, but adhering to all the new requirements. We booked in advance and arrived to find Sunita and her team ready to welcome us - they are such nice people and immediately put us at our ease.
We've been many times before and I'm pleased to report that neither the quality of the food nor the service has been affected by the enforced closure. Both our main dishes tasted delicious, and were delicately spiced and very comforting to eat - we'd missed our curry fix so much! The papadums were fresh and crisp and the pickle tray had us fighting over who would get the last spoonful.
We enjoyed it so much that we ordered a takeaway to have the following evening at home.
I highly recommend a visit to Sunita's Castle - not least because we need to support local business through what is likely to be a difficult summer.

The best Indian meal I’ve ever had, and I’m not exaggerating. I had the lamb passanda which blew my mind, my partner was going to order the butter chicken, it being a cream dish also they suggested a new dish neither of us had ever tried. It came out sizzling, full of beautiful vegetables and completely exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend to everyone.

Von den sieben Abenden, die wir im Zuge unseres Urlaubs an der Algarve essen waren, hat es uns in Sunitas Castle am besten geschmeckt.
Wir wurden zunächst sehr herzlich empfangen. Bei der Wahl der Gerichte haben wir sehr gute Tipps bekommen und so durften wir, obwohl wir die indische Küche recht gut kennen, für uns neue Gerichte kennenlernen. Kurz und knapp: Vor-, Haupt- und Nachspeise waren sehr lecker und wirklich raffiniert gewürzt. Auch das Ambiente und der exzellente Service wussten zu überzeugen. Aus diesem Grund eine klare Empfehlung unsererseits!

Returned to Sunita's for dinner as I enjoyed this place so much when I visited Portugal last year too. The food is fantastic and Sunita is a delight and so helpful with menu selections . There were 13 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

What a fantastic find. Amazing food and just the best service. Sunita is attentive and happy to advice on the dishes. We spoke to a couple who had travel 45 minutes just to go to this restaurant. Well worth a visit we will be back.

Alles stimmt - schöne & ruhige Lokation mit Garten, freundliche & kompetente Bedienung, persönliche Begrüßung + Verabschiedung durch die Gastgeber und vor allen Dingen, die umwerfende Qualität der Speisen.

We had dinner here last night and had a wonderful experience. They easily accommodated 9 of us and treated us like we were VIP. We were overwhelmed ordering family style for a large group with different tastes, so Sunita took charge and brought us the perfect amount of food in a variety of flavours and meats. It was all amazing, and great value for the price. At the end she brought us all some port to try as we had just arrived in Portugal. Overall we had such a lovely experience and would highly recommend it. She even gave me a hug before we left. We will remember this experience for a long time.

My boyfriend and I like Indian food, but we got lost in the amount of dishes they offer, so a really nice waiter helped us with our choices. He asked us what we like to eat and then he suggested some dishes that he thought we would like. We then ordered two appetizers which were finger-licking good. The main dishes were both with prawns in it, as we are not meat lovers. One was a creamy dish, the other was some kind of a spicy sauce. We also ordered garlic chee se naan and rice with eggs. Everything was amazing. And for the end the nice waiter who served us, offered as a brandy or a glass of wine. We choose brandy for better digestion, as we were full. The price for one big beer, one small beer, two appetizers, two main dishes, naan bread and a big portion of rice with egg was 50€. We had an amazing time and if you like to enjoy in good tasty food and great service then this is a place you must try out.

Sunita é a carismática dona deste restaurante com tradicionais comidas indianas, sempre preocupada em proporcionar-nos uma experiência de qualidade e, principalmente, autêntica. Equipa acolhedora e espaços exteriores de boa qualidade, simples mas muito agradáveis, que convidam a saborear pratos caseiros, feitos com gosto e alegria (Sim, sente-se mesmo a alegria com que os pratos são confeccionados). Do meu ponto de vista, obrigatória a passagem por este verdadeiro castelo de sabores indianos, deixando-se levar pelas sugestões, muito assertivas, da incansável e simpática anfitriã, Sunita.

Muy recomendables, atención de 10! Habíamos reservado en terraza, pero hacía frío y pedimos que nos cambiaran a la parte de dentro, y aún siendo 8 personas nos cambiaron sin problemas. En cuanto a la comida, no sabíamos qué pedir, pero se ofrecieron a elegir por nosotros. Probamos gran variedad de platos y todos riquísimos, cantidad perfecta y precio moderado.

Wir sind zwar nicht explizit Fans der indischen Küche, hatten uns jedoch durch die durchweg guten Bewertungen zu einem Besuch in Espiche (Stadtteil von Luz) entschieden. Und so viel sei vorweg genommen, wir wurden nicht enttäuscht!
Nachdem wir die Karte (auch in deutsch) studiert hatten und ob der zahlreichen indischen Bezeichnungen mit mehr oder minder großen Fragezeichen zurück blieben, bot uns die Chefin des Hauses auf eine freundliche, unaufdringliche, bisweilen witzige Weise an, uns bei der Wahl des richtigen Essens zu helfen.
Zur Vorspeise erhält man kross gebackene, hauchdünne Fladen aus Reismehl, die man mit 5 versch. Saucen verspeisen darf und die bei unserem Junior letztlich zur Bestimmung des Schärfegrads des späteren Hauptgangs herangezogen wurden. Jeder einzelne Gast wird also nach den Vorlieben (eher süßlich oder doch besser rezent, cremig oder weniger, gewünschte Zutaten, Schärfegrad ...) befragt, woraufhin man zwar eine zielsichere Empfehlung bekommt, sich unter dem genannten Gericht aber nicht unmittelbar etwas vorstellen kann. So erging es zumindest uns. Da es einem aber recht charmant und überzeugend vermittelt wird, bestellt man das gemeinsam Ermittelte einfach mal ... im guten Glauben das Bestmögliche für den Hunger geordert zu haben.
Wir waren vier Erwachsene und zwei Kinder im Alter von 11 Jahren und alle waren mehr als zufrieden und am Ende glücklich mit dem Gewählten. Beim Schärfegrad sollte man allerdings maximal "medium plus" bestellen, wenn man a) nicht ausgewiesener "Scharfess-Experte" ist und/oder b) kein Handtuch zum Schweißtupfen dabei hat. ;)
Fazit:
Das Essen ist sehr lecker und reichlich, das Ambiente familiär und ungezwungen, die Einrichtung stilvoll und alle Bediensteten stets um das Wohl des Gastes bemüht. Und das bei einer Schlussrechnung, die für das Gebotene überraschend angenehm ausfiel. Sunita und ihr castle haben somit das Prädikat "preiswert" voll und ganz im ursprünglichen Sinne des Wortes verdient. Wir überlegen, diesen Urlaub gleich nochmal vorbeizuschauen...

Super restaurant. Heerlijk gegeten en hele fijne lieve meedenkende mensen. Mijn vriend kan niet tegen spicy en was nog nooit bij een Indiaas restaurant geweest, en ze gaven zeer goed advies over wat hij kon eten, hij heeft genoten, echt een aanrader!

Super miejsce! Bardzo przyjazny personel lacznie z szefowa/wlascicielka ktora sama chetnie skomponuje indywidualne menu. Kazdy jest osobiscie witany i zegnany przez ta mila Pania. Jedzienie bardzo dobre. Indywidualne dobrany stopien pikantnosci potraw wiec zarowno dzieci byly zadowolone jak i amatorzy "ognia" w buzi. Ceny standardowe. Przyjemne wnetrze i mozliwosc siedzenia na tarasie i w ogrodzie. Na pewno tu wrocimy.

I recently visited here and absolutely loved the food and all of the staff were so helpful to a new level! I would recommend eating here however far away you are.

Gran hallazgo! Empezando por la atención y siguiendo con la comida, sensacional!. Lo mejor, las recomendaciones, no sólo para adultos sino también para los niños que se iniciaron en la comida india. La comida tiene un aire tradicional, después de probar más restaurantes indios, este te acerca más a la comida tradicional.

A wonderful place to taste the best of the Indian cuisine. Every dish is full of flavor. All the meat and poultry dishes are tender and delicious. We could not stop eating. The staff is amazing too. Very helpful in suggesting the right level of spice for each person. Sunita, the owner, and her family give their customers the warmest welcome one can offer. We were so happy that we discovered such a gem. I would recommend anyone to try their incredibly delicious food. I am already salivating just writing the review...I should go back there for lunch!

Absolutely wonderful staff and service and delicious food! Highly recommend the Tandoori King Prawns, which are served on a sizzling platter. It was our best meal in the Algarve, not to be missed.

Rewelacja. Polecam nawet tym, którzy tak jak ja dotąd nie próbowali potraw indyjskich. Genialna obsługa. Nawet przez chwilę nie czułem się zaniedbany. Właścicielka restauracji na podstawie naszych sugestii ulubionych smaków zaproponowała dania, które okazały się strzałem w dziesiątkę. Bardzo przyjemna atmosfera sprzyja zgłębianiu smaków doskonałej indyjskiej kuchni. Szczerze polecam.

Best indian food I have had in Portugal. Fantastic service, child friendly, delicious home made ice cream (I had to defend it from the rest of the table guests once they had tasted ;) and a little extra "on the house" . Thank you Sunita! We will be back many times.

Extremt bra indisk restaurang. Två snäpp bättre än dem i Luz och Lagos. Ett fynd! Bästa upplägget är att prata med personalen så komponerar de efter de behov, smaker, erfarenheter och känslor som finns runt bordet. Glöm menyn. Helt fantastiskt!

No "Sunita's Castle" o cliente é que é o Rei. É a Sunita que nos recebe e faz-nos sentir como se já nos conhecemos antes e apesar de não falar bem português (comunicamos em inglês) consegue entender o que o cliente gosta e aconselhar a comida que deviamos escolher. Além disso disse que se houvesse alguma comida que não gostássemos para mandar para trás que ela preparava outra, o que não foi necessário pois tudo o que aconselhou estava delicioso. Fez questão de de ir perguntando se estavamos a gostar e veio despedir-se de nós. Recomendamos e iremos voltar.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Speisekarte teils auch in deutsch vorhanden, wenn es keine indischen Eigennamen waren. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und haben bei der Essensauswahl sehr gute Empfehlungen und Vorschläge gemacht.

Really quality food and flavors! The serving sizes were good for the price. The server was a little pushy and tried to persuade us into ordering different entrees which was a tad uncomfortable, but other than that the service was good. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

One of the best currys I’ve had. It’s refreshing to be able to put the menu aside and the waiter recommend something based on what you like. Unfortunately this means I don’t know what I had to recommend it but it was amazing. But when they offer a suggestion - take it - you won’t regret it. .

I am Indian from andhra, loved the place. The owners were really friendly and took good care of us. The wanted to eat some spicy food and they made it just right. The tandoor items we’d really good, they actually use a clay oven and it resonates in the tandoori items.

Sunita recebe de forma gentil, bem humorada e sempre com um sorriso na cara. Sem qualquer receio de ir ao encontro das necessidades dos clientes, entre omnivoros, vegetarianos e vegans, ninguem ficou de parte, mesmo os pratos que originalmente nao sao consebidos dessa forma. Um espaco arejado, simples mas extremamente agradavel e com varios detalhes interessantes. O exlibris da casa poderia ser a comida que e maravilhosa, mas e o servico, o sorriso e prontidao que fazem com que tuda a refeicao seja deliciosa. Muito Agradecido Sunita!!!

Me and momm just came to visit Sunita's Castle and loved the food!
