Lovely place, great service, and very good quality drinks. The wine was delicious and they have a great selection of beers. The owners are really friendly and welcoming and there is a fabulous terrace to catch the last of the sun. Great selection of tapas. Highly recommend.

Rather confusingly this has a sign that says Monte mar bar restaurante tapas. In fact one side is a bar with a TV and the other side is a restaurant. No tapas in the restaurant but was fine for us. Was a very quiet night but with 2 children this was perfect for us anyway. They do need to change the sign so people know what they are coming inside for. Amongst the plethora of restaurants aimed at biggest margin possible from the tourist pound this really stood out as being as close to authentic Portuguese as possible. The prawn starter and pork loin with figs main were the highlights. As were the almond tart and fig tart. Also loved the fado soundtrack. The wine list is all Portuguese so just ask for a recommendation. The rose by the glass and house red were both great. Very good and for anyone who doesn't want tourist food I can't recommend it high enough.

We are staying in an apartment just opposite this place. Had tried it once just for drinks on the terrace and were impressed so decided to go for dinner. So glad we did as it was excellent. The food and service were superb. The couple running it were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We've been again since and were equally impressed. This is a new restaurant this year so it was a bit quiet. It's also out of carvoeiro centre up towards Monte Dourado so a bit of a walk or a very short taxi ride. Well worth a try.

I totally agree with the previous review. We dined here last night and it was excellent - great food and wonderful service in a very nice setting. Only visiting this area for a few days but will be making a second visit before we leave. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Dined here twice while in the Algarve, once at mid day and had to come back for an evening meal. Food was first class and service excellent. Lovely atmosphere during the evening. Highly recommended if anywhere near this area.

Smart and spacious and open most of the day ... and yet. The service was polite but hardly warm, the food was warm but hardly scintillating. For me it didn't have that happy buzz that good restaurants offer, largely no doubt because it was mostly empty. That said, my fellow fingers thought it was wonderful.

A lovely restaurant offering a great range of food at competitive prices. We had the Chefs Dinner...4 courses, wine, coffee for 15€ each. Excellent value and quality to match.

Chambre 2 ème étage vu sur un mur . Demander côté rue. La chambre dispose d'un frigo. Appréciable l'été. Petit dejeuner moyen et surtout le café qui n'est que du soluble. Exécrable !!

On a first look the menu seems very simple, however please do not be put off by that. The food was incredible!! With a family of 7 and everyone had a different meal, everyone was very impressed with their food. The food was delicious, very well presented and very reasonably priced. Service was also brilliant. 100% worth a visit!

We stayed in a private villa about 2km walk from this restaurant and it was so worth the pleasant walk to it. It is set in lovely surroundings, the owners were very friendly and welcoming and the food was superb! Pork loin with figs was absolutely amazing, vegetable linguine was beautiful (a huge portion) and the caprese salad starters were delicious. It was excellent value at well under €50 which included 2 alcoholic drinks and a large bottle of water. We will be going back before our holiday is over!

Geschmacklich absolut super und sehr preiswertes Essen in Caroveiro abseits vom Tourismustrubel und trotzdem nur wenige Minuten davon entfernt. Freundliches und bemühtes Personal, schöne Terrasse und angenehme Athosphäre.

We ate here last night. Most of the tables were walk in's I believe and the host (mainly) and her Husband did a good job of keeping on top of everything, the food was good. Very reasonable, you can get 4 courses with coffee and a drink for €15. It was very busy like I said and the host kept her cool but a lovely smile wouldn't have gone a miss, to show me she was enjoying it.

Great restaurant!! We loved all the food, authentic clams and cataplana, really delicious! Great staff, friendly and fast. Just a couple of minutes outside the center of Carvoeiro, much beter than most restaurants there. They opened just 4 months ago, therefor not really busy yet. But an absolute recommendation! We will absolutely come again.

Wonderful food. We had just arrived and were terribly hungry. Antonio was lovely and the food was so well cooked and presented. Over the week we tried lots of restaurants in the area and down in town but we still rated this place in our Top 3! Definitely give it a go! It was also one of the cheaper restaurants despite it being one of the best.

We thought about going to this place for a couple of days, but it looked empty so we delayed going. When we finally visited we could have kicked ourselves for not going earlier. We went for a quick, cheap lunch as the prices on the menu outside seemed very reasonable. However the quality of the food and the service was such that we went for dinner the next day and lunch again two days later. We paid just over a 100 Euros for dinner for six including a round of beer and soft drinks and a couple of bottles of very nice house wine.

Fabulous dinner, wonderful service and great value. We've been here twice, both really positive experiences. Highly recommend coming here.

Gutes Essen in gutem Ambiente

Dieses Restaurant ist eindeutig zu empfehlen. Die Speisen sind vorzüglich, vor allem die Fischgerichte. Man wird sehr nett bedient und auch die Einrichtung ist gemütlich und geschmackvoll. Es herrscht eine allgemein sehr angenehme und einladende Atmosphäre. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!
