Charming local restaurant with friendly service, great food, good prices, and a lovely courtyard garden. It's easy to overlook from the street, but well worth a visit.
They remained open for takeaway during the lock down offering the same quality food and friendliness.

You have to find this place, a bit out of the centre on a street heading out of town, but worth it to eat in "The Secret Garden". Peaceful garden setting (you'd never know it was there from outside) and served by a charming couple who gave the impression of running it as a hobby more than a business. Don't mistake that to mean lower quality though, the meal, service and setting was just perfect, not to mention excellent value. Word of warning, cash only, but then you'll be pleasantly surprised how little you'll need.

Wonderful meal, would thoroughly recommend. Eat in the lovely garden out the back for that special atmosphere.

Very nice atmosphere and we were made feel very welcome. The food was some of the nicest food we have eaten in Portugal. I find some Portuguese a bit difficult to deal with, like they think, talk, act on a different 'plane' than we do. Often Portuguese feel a bit distant. Not so here, friendly pleasant people, good food and a "secret garden" to eat in. Recommended for couples and families alike.

The food was very very good homemade food. We ate at the "secret" Garden and loved it, 'cos you feel, like you're in a fairytale.

Great food in this little family owned place. Very friendly service, charming atmosphere and delicious food. Off the tourist trail, but a must if you want to experience good local cuisine.

Un sitio muy bohemio y bonito decorado, sin ser excesivamente caro. La pareja que lo regenta es amabilisima. Recomendamos la ensalada de atún, el pollo piripiri y el pollo con salsa de champiñones

Found this little gem of a place on the last night of our holiday.
What more can be said about the quality of the food and service.
Very highly recommend on our return we will definitely be coming back here.

Un joli p'tit resto bien caché. Nous avons failli le louper, croyant que c'était fermé. Cela aurait été dommage. Cuisine simple mais bonne et vraiment pas cher !
Deux plats, une bouteille d'eau et du vin blanc pour même pas 20€ en tout et avec le sourire

Great restaurant, highly recommend the food, and service. We went on 25.07.2019 the food was amazing and George and Lia could not have been any more welcoming. I would definately go again and the setting out the back is superb.

This place was amazing! Family run business, if you want to try local, traditional flavours this place is for you, good size portions, lovely atmosphere and multilingual owners that really care about you enjoying the food and the place. It has a "secret" garden which I'm pretty sure it would be lovely during summer time!

Amazing food!! Loved every bite of these very traditional Portuguese dishes. The place has a nice atmosphere of simplicity and old style. Good service too! Best recommendation when in Tavira!!!!

Visited here with a party of 16 Soroptimistas from SI Tavira for an evening meal. We had our business meeting first and were not interrupted until we finished. A lovely meal followed, Portuguese style. The owners are friendly & easy to chat with. There is a patio which is cosy in summertime. Will definitely return!

Ein verstecktes Juwel ist der Garten. Die Gerichte sind alle Home-Cooked und super lecker. Zu empfehlen ist der Krabbencocktail als Vorspeise. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
