The tapas here were EXCELLENT! Definitely several steps above the typical. There are old favorites on the menu, and also several brilliant new creations of the house that were lovingly explained, beautifully prepared, and delicious. The "Once upon a time a duck and rice" was superb! Also note the large (and excellent) menu of conservas (preserved or canned items - a Portuguese tradition that is resurgant with many delicious options). The presentation of the food, and the room itself, were all beautiful too. Highly recommended!

First thing first: I almost always attach photos with my reviews. Note: there are no photoes with this one - the food was too good and the conversation was too great to bother with taking pictures. The service staff is kind, generous and fun. A meal is more than just food served (which by the way was excellent). A meal is an atmosphere, the people around you, the staff and the customers next to you. All were great, helpful and attentive. The menu consists of a large array of tapas with a separate conservas menu. If Portuguese conservas are not your thing, stick to tapas. Alternatively, try something from conservas menue, you might be pleasantly surprised. On the sharing menu, try "once upon a duck and rice". We orded it based on a fun name and were truly impressed with the complexity of flavors and textures. In short: great place, awesome stuff, and excellent food. We will definitely be back.

Restaurant was really cozy and comfortable, staff was incredibly kind and had a great sense of humor. Food was amazing, consisting of local staple cuisine as well as new takes on other dishes. All dishes were unique in their own way. Wonderful location to put away your phones for a communal meal and conversation with family and friends. I suggest the dried tuna with cheese; it's an amazing dish that becomes even better with the application of the spicy jam they provided. Additionally, try the conservas, they are wonderful takes on what can be done with common ingredients for the region.

En god tapas opplevelse! Spesielt chorizoen falt i god smak. Lammet var litt kjedelig. Kelneren var litt vel hyggelig og behersket ikke engelsk alt for godt. Overhørte dog en annen kelner forklare menyen på flere forskjellige språk så de er definitivt flinke her.

A disrupção do típico restaurante do Algarve, que de um modo geral prima pela qualidade da refeição e rudez dos funcionários. Aqui encontramos uma experiência gastronómica e não uma refeição. Os funcionários são educados, prestáveis e informados . O serviço sai com timing preciso. A comida é qualquer coisa de fabulosa. Recomendável e a repetir.

Simply the best food in Tavira and the waiters were brilliant. Sang me happy birthday and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that we went three times. The calamari and tuna have to be eaten, and the cheese was brilliant. Spicy mango jam? Who knew it could be so delicious. Vitor (he lost the c back in the sixties) is running an excellent restaurant.

I had my best meal out of my Portugal trip.
Everything was tasty, perfectly seasoned. I’m a vegetarian and it was no problem. The desert was awesome (I had the ice cream with honey) and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend !

This was more than food... It was an experience I won't soon forget. A few small hiccups only added to my feeling of imperfection in a tasting of tapas that left me redefining the perfect meal. The "cheap" wine is complex and delicious, the dessert reconstructed and fresh, but the food will make you wish you couldn't feel full so you could keep trying the creations from the kitchen. One person, I imagine the owner, tempted me with having to move to Tavira... I'm tempted. And despite overhearing a small slight towards a younger generation not appreciating the classical music, that completed my enjoyment there because things like food, music, and art are enjoyed in the moment and can be timeless in that experience. Thank you.

Spécialisé dans les Tapas Portugais à Tavira ( le meilleur restaurant de Tavira ! ) pour ses subtiles et surprenantes SAVEURS ,ses compositions très travaillées avec les excellents produits de la région , et les épices fines et savoureuse ... Un enchantement ... Le tout accompagné de bon vins Portugais ,pour un prix très étudié .
Le Patron et son épouse sont très souriants et aux services des clients ! ... Une escale gourmande à renouveler sans modération !!!

Tapas restaurant so you should choose 2/3 dishes per person.
We took 11 dishes in total for 4 person.
All the selection was really good.
You can count around 20/25€ per person with one bottle of wine and water.
The waiter was really nice and sympathetic. He speaks French also (can be helpful for some description).

Já lá fui 2 vezes. Das 2 vezes que fui adorei. Comida muito boa, funcionários simpáticos e prestáveis e a um preço acessível.
Não dou 5 estrelas pela antipatia da dona das mesmas 2 que lá fui.
Não pude deixar de reparar que a senhora olha para os clientes com ar desconfiado e nunca sorri.

Pequeño y acogedor restaurante dirigido por una pareja muy profesional. La comida compuesta de tapas, es de una gran calidad tanto por el producto como por su elaboración. Nosotros repetimos dos veces en los pocos días que estuvimos en Tavira y eso que la oferta en la ciudad es amplia.
No puedo recomendar ningún plato, ya que todo lo que probamos estaba realmente bueno, aunque es verdad que los cogumelos eran buenísimos...
Todo un acierto este restaurante.

We really enjoyed the food and ambience in this restaurant. So much so that we went two nights in a row. Service is lovely and owners clearly love good food, it is mouth watering and we enjoyed every mouthful. We would recommend the lamb shoulder, frites, shrimp and chirizo - all had brilliant flavour to them. This place is wonderful and i would definitely be back here again.

Great restaurant.
We chose this over the Italian next door hoping for more authentic Portuguese cuisine and did we ever choose right.
From the moment we walked in we were treated incredibly well. Our waiter quite happily catered for a vegetarian and a genetic predisposition to abhor corriander (which is a mainstay of Portuguese menus as I discovered)
Great selection of great tasting tapas, delivered quickly. We'd been told to try Portuguese green wine and our waiter suggested one we would like (and we did) desert followed very swiftly and we had to check the bill as they must have missed a few dishes off as it was a lot less than we expected.
Lovely food, great friendly knowledgeable staff. Would definitely recommend it.

Fabulous Portuguese tapas dishes! Really enjoyed duck and rice, peppers and shrimps, anchovies, cheesecake. The wine recommendations were great. Both times we visited, the wine pairing was spot on. Friendly customer service by all the waiters. Nice outdoor seating area for summer as well.

Great ambiance, great people, great food. Hard to get a table, but totally worth the wait (I always make a reservation, but tables for that are few), if there's no table available at the moment, just get on the queue and come back or hang around.
The food is awesome, you'll have to try "Salvador", my favorite. Also highly recommend iTuna! Explore the menu, it's full of great bites!

We had a fabulous experience in this restaurant. Everything was very tasty and well thought with high quality products. The chef is inspired and focused. The waiters are very attentive towards the clients.

Se vi trovate a Tavira fate una tappa in questo locale che non passa inosservato anche per la sua splendida facciata!!! Vi porteranno piatti molto curati (non abbondanti) particolari e tutti homemade. Consigliamo gambas con pequenho(i peperoncini verdi sono molto piccanti e creano un delizioso contrasto con il dolce dei gamberi!!!) e l hamburger con pane tradizionale (che assomiglia ad un toast con un pezzo di carne molto gustosa come ripieno). Fatevi consigliare poi per un copo di vino... Vi porteranno il meglio di queste terre.
Infine consigliamo di finire il pasto con:
O l ottima cheese cake con marmellata home made a scelta tra arancia-pomodoro-melone piccanti. Io ho scelto il gusto arancia ERA UNA VERA DELIZIA.
O il gelato homemade al miele con sugo di fichi menta e un altra spezia che lo rende unico.

Incredulità. Questa è lo stato d’animo che accompagna la cena. Menù fatto di “tapas”, ci sono a dire il vero solo 4 menù completi. 2 da una persona, 1 da 2 persone e 1 da 4 persone. Città di mare, prevalenza di piatti di carne.... comunque sia la qualità delle pietanze è sopra la media e non si esce a stomaco vuoto.
In zona si usa portare un entreé con prodotti locali, in questo caso, il cesto con il pane, un patè di pesce e le olive. Nei menù che abbiamo ordinato erano presenti le stesse cose come accompagnamento. Morale della storia, ci son stati tolti 2 cestini di pane dal tavolo perché erano di troppo. Idem le olive. Siamo stati però rassicurati, avremmo potuto chiedere il pane nel caso in cui fosse finito senza costi aggiuntivi. Senza parole! In italia avrebbero già chiuso da tempo.

Pedimos um prato de peixe, duas doses de batata frita para acompanhar duas doses de carne.
Veio o peixe acompanhado das batatas fritas, 20 min depois mais uma dose de batata sem nada para acompanhar.
20 min depois 1 prato de carne, 20 min depois o outro prato de carne.
Enfim valeu no final o pedido de desculpas e a admissão do erro.

This is a great place to try some truly delicious food and be guided in your choices by expert and friendly staff. While the savoury tapas is really good you should also indulge in dessert. We ate gorgeous lamb, cheese, octopus and homemade jams and were blown away by the sweet potato cake and cheesecake. It's an inspired idea to introduce you to so much that is excellent about Portuguese food. If you only eat out once in Tavira, go here.

Impossible de réserver par téléphone, toujours sur messagerie.... Ça commence mal. Nous nous rendons sur place afin de réserver pour le soir même et ce n est pas possible non plus car il n y a que 4 tables "réservables" Donc on nous dit avec assez peu de sympathie de revenir tenter notre chance... Bref mon compagnon, à ce stade, est légèrement agacé et souhaite laisser tomber. J insiste et en repassant plus tard nous trouvons une table disponible. La suite est enfin agréable, repas délicieux et original et la serveuse parfaite. C est vraiment dommage que ça ait mal commencé. Franchement un très bon établissement !!!

El pan: Con él pan pedimos un paté de jamon. Buenisimo. Aparte había muchos tipos de pan desde uno muy fino y tostado hasta uno negro
1: Fue unas tiras de mojama con queso de cabra. Excelentes. La mojama no estaba muy fuerte así que apetecía mucho comerla. Venia con una mermelada picante que le daba un buen toque
2: Fue camarones con pimientos del padron. Estaban deliciosos. El mejor plato
3: Fue morcilla con queso de cabra y manzana. Estaba muy bueno todo, pero la morcilla estaba fría una lastima la verdad estaba muy buena.
4: Bacalao con espinacas y puré de garbanzos. Lo elegimos para probar, no teníamos mucha fe en que este plato iba a estar bueno pero resultó delicioso.
5: Una ensalada de espinaca, con papaya, piña y melón. La verdad, no se lo que me esperaba pero resulto estar buenisima.
(Se me olvido sacar foto, perdón)
Acompañamiento: Pedimos una patatas fritas. Me dirás pues unas patatas sin mas, pues no, ahí que decir que estaban DELICIOSAS. Una pasada. Tenían orégano.
Postre: Un mousse de mango y chocolate. Perfecto.
Presentacion de platos: Estaban perfectos todos los platos
Trato al cliente: Perfecto, saben español, francés, ingles y portugues. Todos muy amables.

Believe the hype. This is the best meal we've had during our Portugal trip. Most Portugese food is staples executed in various qualities and can become boring. Here there's playful ways of using local ingredients and actually some good vegetarian options (very hard to come by in Portugal). Highly recommend.

Aunque en principio nos encantó y por eso nos sentamos, ya desde el principio notamos un trato diferente respecto a las otras personas que estaban sentadas porque nosotros veníamos de la playa y no íbamos tan arreglados como el resto que estaban alojados en Tavira, nosotros estábamos de viaje.
No nos pusieron la mesa como a los demás, ni con velas ni unas plantitas que ponían. A los de al lado mientras esperaban la comida les pusieron unas aceitunas de picar, a nosotros no. Las bebidas tardaron en llegar unos 20 minutos y la comida una hora de reloj, y aunque estaba muy rico todo nos parece excesivo tiempo para unas tapas.
No podemos decir nada de la comida, hay que decir que esta todo riquísimo pero desde luego no es para comer rápido

Me and my partner did enjoy every single dish! Plates aren't big so u r not gonna overdose. And prices are decent. I really recommend dessert whoever likes to try new stuff. My partner tried a cake in a pot with carrot jam and I did try fig and carup cake. Was absolute discovery! Looking forward to come back and try beetroot mousse and spicy choco mousse. A lovely staff, too!

Un pire délice. J y suis allé 3 fois en une semaine!!! Un rapport qualité prix exceptionnel. On en a eu pour 80 euros pour 4 avec apero, vin, et à manger plus qu il n en faut!!! C est le meilleur resto que j ai fait en Algarve... un délice!!! À ne pas manquer!!!! Et les patrons sont cool!!

Amazing tapas near the river. Food was 10/10. Recommend the mushroom, so damn good!

This is an amazing restaurant. It is family run and you can tell that the food is prepared by someone who cares. The staff are extremely friendly and speak multiple languages, including English.

They play with pure portuguese flavours,. Good quality of ingredients. Even somethings as simple as bread with butter is upgraded into a culinair adventure. The staff was super friendly and there is a nice atmosphere for really decent prices. For us The best choice in Tavira.

El sitio es muy acogedor y la comida verdaderamente increible. Cocina local deliciosa. Pedimos cogomelos (setas), muxama (atún seco) con compota de malagueta, borrego (cordero), benedict i patatas dulces (de boniato). Hemos comido superbien y muy bien de precio. El servicio atento y muy amable. Repetiremos seguro.

Eine Scheibe geröstetes Brot-darauf vier hauchdünne Tomatenscheiben und darauf etwas Tintenfisch aus der Dose für 10€ - absolut daneben und enttäuschend zumal es 100 m weiter eine große Portion Tintenfischsalat (Tomaten ,Kartoffeln,Tintenfisch,Paprika,Zwiebeln frisch angemacht) für super günstige 5€ gibt. Leider das "Bica" erst zu spät entdeckt.

Very good food for a reasonable price. We tried one of the salads, a warm toast, fried sweet potatos and two desserts for lunch and it was all absolutely delicious. Moreover, it's nice to sit there, the staff is super friendly and you get sustainable regional water. We'll come back!

Com um staff atencioso e muito simpático, este estabelecimento privilegia os produtos nacionais e com muita qualidade. Adorei tudo o que provei... desde o atum fumado com queijo e compota picante, até ao bacalhau e até mesmo o caco com cachaço maravilha...
