The Name says it all. Look at the pictures on google thats what its like. And you'll meet some great people. If I say anymore it might be too busy for me to return.

There are many words I could use to describe this place but Paradise says it all . If you want room service, bathrobes, slippers and a minibar go somewhere else . However if you want peace absolute quiet, great food , fantastic company then go to paradise. Frank and Daniela have created a unique place. The lake is wonderful for swimming or messing about in a boat. Rooms are rustic very clean and comfortable. No choice of meals - the gong is sounded at 1pm for lunch and 7pm for dinner and from the kitchen comes amazing home cooked food - thank you Daniella. Everyone eats together one evening about 30 of us - another 10 of us. Amazing conversations like having a first class dinner party every night. If that wasnt enough then theres the bird watching - Frank does day trips/ half day in fact anything you want he is very knowledgeable and it is a birdwatchers paradise , we would certainly be back whoever we visit again

Für uns waren dies der Einstieg in unseren Urlaub. War dafür hervorragend geeignet, um Abstand von Hektik und Trubel zu bekommen. Der Stausee ist phantastisch zum Baden geeignet, warm + sauber. Die Verpflegung ist sehr liebevoll, gegessen wird an einer einer großen Tafel, mit allen Gäste gemeinsam.

Absoluter Geheimtipp für Naturliebhaber und Ruhe-Suchende. Sehr familiär! Sehr gutes Essen abseits des Gewöhnlichen ohne das Tralala einer Sterneküche. Sehr umweltbewusste Hotelleitung - Solarstrom, Seewassernutzung, Vermeidung von Verschwendung wo immer möglich

C’est un lieu fantastique pour vivre une merveilleuse expérience. Franck et Daniella vous offrent un parfait moment de déconnexion et de convivialité. C’est un lieu parfait pour les familles et les couples en quête de romantisme. La baignade dans le lac est un must et les promenades en paddle inoubliable. Plus que la la qualité de la cuisine qui est indéniable il ne faut pas rater les dîners où vous y apprendrez entre autre que le T-Rex est un cousin de nos moineaux.

I volunteered here one summer about 6 years ago, it was a great experience in a truly incredible place.

Dog friendly! Highly recommend this place, and will be recommending to friends and family. It’s really peaceful, directly on the lake with paddle boards and boats free to use. It was really easy with my dog and he was able to roam free and paddle in the lake. The room is comfortable, with a nice bathroom (big bathtub) and breakfast is included. Lunch is approx. 15 Euro, and dinner approx. 20 Euro. The last 4km is by gravel road, but was fine for my small car. Directions from google were accurate. Only recommendation would be for a kettle/tea/coffee to be put in the rooms. Staff and guests were friendly.

Frank and Daniella have created a true oasis of peace and tranquility. Totally of grid you can imerse yourself in natural surroundings while being seranaded by captivating birdsong. Although in a hot dry place Frank and Daniella have pulled off something of a tropical paradise. I cant wait to go back here and can highly recommend it.

The name is tottaly suitable to what this place is. Very call and soothing place. Perfect to relaxe and enjoy the sound of nature. Also, the hosts are amaizing and create a great environment, specially at dinner time.

This was our third visit to the Quinta (October 2019) and it’s always been a great treat. If anything, it was better this time, partly because we’d come with four friends also because, for the first time, we got involved in one of Frank’s birding expeditions - an all-day explore, starting at 5.00am. We were pretty naïve in these matters and still have nearly everything to learn - but it was obvious enough that the trip was superb. The Quinta is an extraordinary place: it’s seriously beautiful, tranquil and relaxing and, above all, an infectiously happy place to be. There’s nothing soppy about this contentment either: it’s a natural reaction to lovely surroundings, comfortable rooms, Daniela’s great food, excellent company – and, not least, an obviously happy and well looked after young staff. You all eat communally – up to about 20 people at the same table – and it works a treat. Summing up, if it’s right for you, it’s wonderful – but it wouldn’t be right for everyone. We wouldn’t think it suitable for very young children, for example – though great fun for older ones. Also the downside of the Quinta’s very strong green credentials and emphasis on self-sufficiency (energy, vegetables) is a degree of isolation that might not be convenient for some. The wi-fi signal is excellent, but you probably shouldn’t go there if you’d miss cinema or TV.

This was my first visit to Portugal and this was one of the highlights. Frank and Daniela are very gracious hosts; Daniela's food is excellent, the rooms are basic but very nice and the setting is spectacular. My prime reason for coming here was the birds, and I was not disappointed. Both Frank and Tony are very knowledgable and got me onto a lot of good birds and were great company too. The common meals are a pleasure as they are more of a family meal hosted by Frank and Daniel with people from all walks of life sharing their experiences. I can only recommend this place and sincerely hope to be able to come back.

Idyllischer, ruhiger Ort zum Entspannen. Die Besitzer Frank und Daniela sind nett und auch die jeweiligen Volontärs sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Fatima und Dulce kümmern sich aufopferungsvoll um die Reinigung von "Haus und Garten". Allerdings sind es einige viele Stufen (ohne Geländer) bis runter ans Wasser. Ist also nichts für hüft- und fußkranke. Es gibt 4 Hunde vor Ort, wobei der ganz große "giftig" gegenüber kleineren Hunden ist (leider wurde uns das nicht gesagt und unser Dackel wurde schmerzvoll attackiert ). Der kleinere Hund "Napoleon" hatte sich uns angeschlossen und unsere Terrasse die ganze Zeit bewohnt und bewacht. Seine 17 Jahre sah man ihm nicht an. Wir vermissen ihn . Hunde werden also akzeptiert. Unten am Wasser gibt es eine Plattform mit nur einem kleinen Schirm. Schatten hat man dort null. Die Leiter, die ins Wasser führt, ist leider nichts für kraftlose Frauen, da sie nur 2 feste Stufen hat und die letzten 2 Stufen nachträglich angebracht wurden. Sie sind glitschig und bewegen sich beim Ausstieg unter die Plattform. Kanu, Segelboot und Stand-up-Paddeln ist alles frei verfügbar. Das Essen ist akzeptabel, aber das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt leider ganz und gar nicht. Das Abendessen findet immer in großer Runde statt, wobei Frank meistens für die Platzwahl zuständig ist. Das Wasser im Santa Clara Stausee ist traumhaft

This resource really lives up to its name. Paradise is the best description. It's wonderful tranquil and peaceful. This is not a party place, but a place for quiet rest. Great for couples, or families. Natur lovers will enjoy the birds and all the wonderful flowers.

You will need a 4x4 to get to the place. I gave up as I was in a campervan...IT IS NOT for the faint-hearted

Come here if you want to do nothing. An affordable way to turn off from modern pressures and simple enjoy familly time. Simply delightful!

O local é agradável, de péssimo acesso em estrada de terra por 4 km, fomos recebidos por um casal estrangeiro rude e com falta de educação. Local sem ar condicionado. Regras muito rígidas e alimentação restrita ao imposto por eles. Tinha tudo para ser um local de sonho, mas foi um pesadelo.

Absolutely brilliant place away from it all peaceful and yet so looked after every comfort you need. We slept like logs in our cosy room with a log fire. Eat like king and queen every day! Had the most amazing bird watching trips and saw so many amazing birds. Learned a lot about Portugal and its history. We want to go back again! Thanks!

Sometimes you come across somewhere quite unexpectedly lovely. It might be that the location is very special and the buildings and environment take maximum advantage of the natural splendour to turn it into a wonderful setting for a holiday. Or it may be that the people are brilliant at their job as hosts and their skill and expertise really enhances your experience. At 'Paradise in Portugal' both of these ingredients are present. The Quinta is beautiful and the setting spectacular. Frank and Daniela make you feel very much at home. Eating Daniela's excellent food around the dining table with other guests is like a gathering of friends. Frank's expertise in ornithology is deeply impressive. We went on a full day birdwatching trip with Frank to the plains of the Alentejo and we learnt so much and saw so much birdlife that was beautiful and rare. We were only there for a few days while on a walking holiday but quite easily have stayed for much longer. We will certainly return. If you have the opportunity to go - do it!

Paradise in Portugal is appropriately named, as it was indeed an amazing place to enjoy nature and the peace and serenity of the lakeThe owner has spent many years establishing such a beautiful environment for lovers of nature. Meal times are like a large family gathering with the owners joining the guests. A font of information about birds, Frank shares his knowledge punctuated with many amusing stories. We met some lovely people and will remember our experience with great fondness.Nothing was too much trouble, from laying and lighting a fire in our room every night to helping us out with petrol when we were getting low.

Nette quinta in einer außergewöhnlichen Lage, der See und die Landschaft sind sehr schön! Engagierte Betreiberfamilie, die Möglichkeiten außerhalb der quinta etwas zu unternehmen oder Essen zu gehen sind allerdings sehr eingeschränkt, dies sollte man bei der Buchung unbedingt berücksichtigen. Zimmerkomfort & Frühstück im Vergleich zu anderen quintas eher unterdurchschnittlich.
